Chapter Three 

3rd Person POV 

they began to walk back to kates apartment together. Clint watched willow closely and he stared at her in a way which made it clear that she was going to get scolded in the morning. 

"how did you get this suit?" he asked her and she stared at him 

"I..." she said and they heard sirens. 

"lookit. we gotta get you out of here. okay? its not safe for you to be in this. do you live near here? " he asked and then he looked at willow who sighed and looked at the ground 

"yeah. i just live..." she began 

"here, take this. are you okay?" he asked 

"I'm fine, I saw a dead body. it was a first" she ranted and willow laughed as she followed them back to the apartment 

"where did you learn to fight like that?" he asked her and willow looked at kate in wonderment. 

" I started taking martial arts when I was five" she said and willow smiled 

"wow , so like a year ago?" clint asked and willow laughed 

"shouldn't you be home with your mother?" he turned to willow and she shot her eyes open as he stared at her and she stared at him. he knew about the agreement but he didn't seem to care right now 

"she knows where I am, its fine" she said and he scoffed before he turned to kate 

"are you assessing threats? is that what you're doing?" kate asked him 

"something like that" he told her 

"so that's how you operate? you're just constantly looking for things that are suspicious or weird" kate asked and willow nodded 

"yeah basically" she exclaimed 

"look just so you know I'm not some total noob right?  i was a little overwhelmed but I held my own with those douchebags. we're right here. some people have called me the worlds greatest archer" kate said 

"yeah? are you one of those people?" he asked her 

"well, one of them is. yes" she said 

"that's wonderful, open the door" he told her and they walked into the building together. they got up to kates apartment and when they opened the door, they saw a dog laying there on the floor 

"oh hi buddy" willow said as she walked over and kneeled down to pet him. he nudged her hand and she laughed as she sat down with a smile 

"some guard dog you got there" clint told kate 

"he's not my dog but you seem to know him" kate told willow and she turned her head to her with a smile. she nodded her head and laughed 

"yeah whenever I went out at nights I found him, I managed to feed him. sometimes he would spend the night with me at my apartment" she stated 

"that's the dog you kept sneaking in?" he asked her and she nodded as she pet the dog more. 

"yeah buddy meet clint, clint buddy. or that's what I call him" willow introduced and he nodded before he looked at kate 

"nice place for a kid" he told her 

"yeah, I inherited it" she stated 

"what are you, 18?" he asked 

"I'm 22" she said 

"yeah, same thing. so wanna get that vest off so i can get going?" he asked  her and she nodded 

"yeah ill be right back" she said and she walked away from them. willow watched her with a smile 

"so where'd you get the suit?" he called 

"black market auction" kate called 

"you bought it" he said 

"no not exactly" she continued and he turned to willow who held her hands up and shook her head 

"so, what all did you do in this suit?" he asked 

"i beat some guys up. saved the dog. some light B and E" she exclaimed and then she walked downstairs 

"a 22-year-old vigilante" he said 

"hey" willow called and he turned to her as she stared at him and he smiled at her before he asked kate 

"shouldn't you be in school? like willow" he asked 

"funny you should ask. so now that I've answered all your questions, i have so many for you. starting with, can you sign this?" she asked 

"I'm not done yet" he retorted and willow groaned 

"but when you are , can you sign my bow?you're kind of my favorite avenger by the way " she pushed 

"are you okay?" he asked her 

"I'm good. oh yeah no , I'm fine. you should see the other guys" she said 

"i did. tracksuit mafia. me and black cat here saved you from them" he said and she turned to willow who waved 

"that's their name? that's a little on the nose don't you think? do you think they're the ones that killed my moms fiances uncle?" she asked 

"your moms fiances uncle?" clint asked 

"that's a tongue twister" willow told buddy who nodded and she smiled at him 

"armand the III of at least seven" she said 

"i do not know but what i need to know is is anybody saw your face?" he asked her 

"no. kept the mask on like a pro" she said 

"okay cause the person that wore this suit made a whole lot of enemies all right? and the tracksuits are just one of them" he said 

"that doesn't sound good" she said 

"you told nobody about this suit?" he asked her 

"no" she said 

willow got sick and tired of listening and then she heard someone calling and she huffed. 

"hey, kate bishop"he called 

"get down" he told them and soon molatoff cocktails had been thrown into the apartment and willow looked at clint. they saw the suit in the midst of the fire and kate shot the fire extinguisher with an arrow which didn't help them at all. willow ran to buddy and she grabbed him as they ran out of the apartment as fast as they could. 

they ran down to the subway as willow pressed the button and her suit intracted into it. 

"i will never get used to that" clint told her and she smiled 

"so where are we going?" kate asked 

"getting further away from those people trying to kill you" he told her 

"right and after that?" she asked 

"we'll need some supplies" he said 

"hell yeah avenger supplies?" she asked and they went to the convenience store 

"not gonna lie to you. this is a bit of a letdown" kate told him 

"i gotta agree with him and you know what i do on a daily basis" willow said and he looked at her 

"sorry to disappoint you, wanna grab some of that rubbing alcohol over there? lower shelf" he told her and she grabbed it 

"so whats the plan now? let me guess we're going to your safe house? is it in the avengers tower?" kate asked 

"no, tony sold that. a few years ago" he told her and willow sighed 

"yeah i remember that. mom was devastated" willow exclaimed 

"that is so sad on so many levels" kate exclaimed and they walked up the front with clint. 

"what do you want with me? look, i gotta find a place to stash you. safe. so i can recover the suit and clean up your mess" clint told kate 

"stash me? I'm not a bag of money" kate said 

"no, you're not. a bag of money would be useful to me" he told her and they got up to the front 

"i actually do know a place about 10 blocks away. would a bag of money know a place?" kate said and they went to the apartment with her. 

"not exactly a fortress but it'll do right?" clint said 

"its my aunts place. shes in Florida for the winter. hold that for me" she said and she broke into the apartment. 

"is there cats in here?" he asked 

"just cat hair" kate stated and willow smiled. she decided that she should go home but maybe it was safer with kate of all places. she helped kate with her wounds as clint left to get the suit. kate called her mom and willow sat at the window as she looked outside and waited for clint. 

when he got there, she let the two of them talk to each other. she knew that they needed to talk to each other. 

what she didn't know is how the next day was going to go and what she would have to help clint with.
