ableism + problematic celebs pt. 2

Ableism:

Ableism is the discrimination or prejudice against people who have disabilities. Ableism can take the form of ideas and assumptions, stereotypes, attitudes and practices, physical barriers in the environment, or larger scale oppression.

My best friend's sister has a disability and in no way would I call her dumb, a r*tard (that is the most offensive and ableist term I have ever heard), stupid, deaf, ignorant, or crazy. When you use these terms, I can't even imagine how a person feels.

If you are fighting with someone and assume/say that they are autistic (just because they say something dumb), even if you joke around about it, you are partaking in a problematic and ableist act. You have no idea how many kids at my school do that.

This is an example of ableism:

This is Lady Gaga, an ableist and problematic celebrity that is using a wheelchair during one of her performances. I'm pretty sure her leg was not broken. She also used the word "r*tarded"

Some people think ableist people cannot do anything in everyday life, which I think is extremely foolish. 

Everyone deserves respect, it isn't okay to judge a book by its cover. 

PROBLEMATIC CELEBS

i. Selena Gomez

Your fave is problematic! Is it fine if you still like her? Of course! Is it okay to defend her actions, even though you know the problematic acts she partakes in? No. 

This girl has thrown around the slur "g*psy" many times for one. Many people may see the next few images as Cultural Appropriation, and some may not, what do you think?:

Do you think wearing bindis when you aren't in the culture at all, cultural appropriating?

ii. Bella Thorne

If you see other Problematic Celebrities books, you already KNOW Bella Thorne is a snake and problematic. She has cheated on smol babies like Charlie Puth and Tyler Posey.

She was also accused of queer baiting fans (even if she is bisexual). She has culture appropriated many times and said the "N" word with her boyfriend in their snapchat story.

And he called a girl "effing idiot" for having an anxiety attack on a plane because his plane got delayed and he had to wait.

This chapter took a lot of work! I had to research many things and the results came out to be this messy rant. In my other problematic celebrities chapter, I listed the age of the celebrities and what they were known for, but I'm on a tight schedule. That's why I could not do it.
