Chapter 2 - The Tutorial is An End Game Boss

Bright blue skies, harmonic music, and cotton-like clouds filled my eyes. In front of me, the stone path continually built itself piece by piece over the never-ending void beneath. Has my time come already? The last thing I remembered was getting hit by a minivan after stylishly crossing the street without looking left and right.

Right.

I've grown too careless lately. It's starting to become a bad habit. Normally, my observational skills would have been of use, but clearly, I was too busy looking cool to even try. I don't even know whether I should be laughing or kicking myself in the ass right now. After spending a solid couple of seconds thinking, I muttered a few curse words while laughing.

"God Damn It"

"You called?"

Another voice interrupted my monologue. How dare he. Before I could reply in spite, I quickly bit my tongue and held myself back from bad-mouthing the person right next to me. Vibrant yellow-blonde hair tied up in a long ponytail draping down to his waist and rocking a white robe along with a pair of golden wings was none other than the iconic main character of Genshin Impact - not Paimon.

"Hi God, am I dead?"

Not knowing what to say out of precaution and concern, I strike up a conversation with God to try to feel out the situation at hand. Right now, I just need some answers, because this stupid starting screen setting isn't going to get me anywhere. Contrary to my expectations though, God just left me with a few lines.

"You will be if you don't start moving."

In shock, I instinctively asked back.

"Wait, what's about to happen?!"

"She's coming."

"Hey, God? A little more info? If you gotta go, can we meet up?"

I promptly shut up after asking, waiting to hear more. This was important information. After all, if the Traveler, Aether, had yet to arrive here together with his sister, Lumine, that meant the game and storyline of Genshin Impact hadn't started yet. That would also beg the question of what in the world he was doing here too, but before I could get any answers...

"OH FUCK YOU TOO!"

He promptly left.

There goes my future date with God.

Actually, is Aether even a God in the first place?

My knowledge of Genshin Impact's lore, while it was quite expansive compared to the average casual player, wasn't so proficient that I knew every individual character's backstory and was capable of piecing together whatever cluster of a mess that the game's creators- Hoyoverse- had thrown to its players.

I can proudly say that I am slightly less dumb than the top players.

It was then I felt a slight tingling sensation.

They normally call this a sense of danger.

I call it flirting with Death more often than necessary.

Without hesitation, I threw myself forwards just as a part of the stone path I was one was obliterated by weird black-red space cubes. Great, I'm going to die to futuristic LEGO blocks. I got up and had my back towards the door roughly 100 meters away. Descending from the heavens was one of the first obstacles the Traveler encounters - The Unknown God.

Slowly floating down, her distinct shining-amber eyes and flowing, cloud-like hair struck me speechless for half a second. If I had more time on my hands, I would have definitely ogled her wonderfully stylish figure some more, but at last, the LEGO blocks of Death were not on my side. My feet pushed against the ground to leap away from yet another set of attacks. More of the stone path fell down into the clouds and into the unknown.

The Unknown God was, like the name suggested, a mystery that the people of Hoyoverse left behind for its players. Genshin Impact stars Aether and Lumine, two Travelers who flew from world to world for the sake of exploration, as they came into the world of Teyvat before encountering this Celestial Being. Due to some transgression of mankind, the Unknown God attacks and separates the siblings.

https://youtu.be/5huugd-Fvs8

The story shortly begins after the player selects either the male or female sibling and has them start after a short battle. Which was really cool, but as a person who can't fly, doesn't have a sword, and is armed with only a smartphone and a shitty tongue, my chances of surviving even one hit from this beauty of the skies is next to zero.

"I am the Sustainer of the Heavenly Principles," introduced the Unknown God with a cold and stern voice. Haha, clearly this must be the work of fate if she decided to talk for some reason. Whatever that is, I knew this was probably my only chance - and a ticket to getting out of here safe and sound if possible.

I spoke slowly.

"I am a Modern Mage of another world, Colt Jager, and I suddenly woke from a deep slumber after being attacked," I replied solemnly. All the bullshit that I was ready to make up was starting to arrange itself to create the biggest pity story that I could muster on the spot. Maybe I should have gone with "warrior" instead of something like a "mage", but I can't take back what I said now.

"You..."

The Unknown Goddess gave me a weird look.

Am I that handsome?

Or did she already catch onto my bullshitting art?

Her eyes shut briefly before saying, "You've already died."

GOD DAMN IT!

"Oh."

Well, it could have been worse.

I mean, I'm still here right now, so it's not like I'm completely dead.

While my mind was in all sorts of mayhem, the Unknown Goddess spoke once more.

"You died."

Yes, I believe you said that already lady.

"Okay, and?" I shot back almost instinctively.

You know, I'd rather not stay here and discuss the obvious, but not getting hit by LEGO blocks of death at the moment was a nice plus. I try to psychoanalyze the Goddess before me, but my mind was too scattered and all over the place to make sense of anything. Her voice sounded neutral, but not robotic. Like a part-time worker just doing her shift. That, and she's pretty hot. Great. Just great Colt. Excellent analysis.

The Unknown God gave a look of curiosity as if I was an oddly fascinating occurrence.

"You aren't fazed by your own death?" she asked.

I couldn't tell where she was going with the question, so I replied with a staple line.

"Why should I? People will always die when they are killed," I started off. Frankly, I was just saying whatever came to mind first in order to keep the Unknown God occupied. Even if I already died, I consider myself to be very much alive at the moment. Wait, the Goddess didn't say 'you are already dead' like that one martial artist dude in that one anime, so does this mean I actually have a chance?

"After all," I said very carefully. "They're only mortal."

I gave myself a mental pat on the back for coming up with a random cool-sounding line on the fly. The only problem was, I don't even know if it sounded cool or pathetic to the Unknown God before me. Awkwardly, we stared at one another in silence. The next couple seconds felt Eternally long as the Unknown God judged my fate.

"Yes, humans are only mortal. Such is the natural course of order," the Unknown God declared solemnly. "However, your existence here is not that of the natural order."

Shitshitshitshitshit.

I cursed inwardly as I realized that I wasn't part of the Unknown God's "natural order."

A domineering aura pulsed shot out from the Unknown God. Before I could even register it, I was already on my hands and knees, breathing heavily from the pressure that she was exerting. The words "natural order" flashed across my mind which was thrown into disarray. I wasn't following the normal laws of nature just by being here.

Meaning I would be removed.

Not to mention I had already died.

Sure I don't mind death once it happens,

but so long as I'm "here", I'd rather stay alive.

I gasped. My breathe sputtered uncontrollably as my head slowly lowered itself to the stone floor. For a moment, I even forgot that a God was before me and struggled to maintain my breathe. The feeling I got from her, at the very least, was that of someone who was ready to clean up and purge any unpredictable and outside factors.

Just like how she handled the Travelers.

Something clicked at that moment. In my mind, the mental image of a gun getting loaded and ready to fire. I wouldn't have gotten this far in my short yet eventful life without being able to do this much. This was a mental change of pace that I reserved for life-or-death situations in order to clear my mind and act accordingly. With that mental image, I took a sharp breathe inwards before breathing out all at once before emptying my mind and entering a kneeling position on one knee.

From there, I began sorting out the information like a computer.

I 100% can't fight her - that was a given.

Any form of ability I had or could have should be considered nonexistent.

The Unknown God shows hostilities towards foreign, outside entities.

However, she didn't outright kill the Travelers; she sent them away.

My situation was different, but I could change it if I pique her interest more.

My chances of survival ranged from 10% to 25%.

Considering my half-baked knowledge of the game, I could only do so much.

It was time to gamble.

A short game of Russian Roulette, but I'm the only one taking the shots.

"Khaenri'ah."

Just that one name slipped out of my mouth.

From there, the pressure only grew stronger.

Desperately, I used both hands to clutch onto my knee.

My head raised ever so slightly to make eye contact with the Goddess.

The Unknown God's expression changed to that of hostility.

Though, this was something I had accounted for.

"Why does an outlander like you know of that name?"

If she wanted to kill me, she already could have.

The only problem was that she needed to know what I was bound to talk about.

This was the first of my gambles.

In the game, Khaenri'ah was a godless nation built upon by mankind's own efforts. However, 500 years before the start of the game, something happened there. The nation was a powerful one despite not having a god to worship and was able to exist peacefully until it earned the ire of Celestia - causing the Gods to strike down upon it. The event itself was a war that unfolded to become an even greater disaster.

The Hoyoverse Company has only given bits and pieces of information about the incident and left it as a part of its worldbuilding, so it was hard to be sure about anything. That didn't mean I couldn't try to deduce a few things. Since the Gods in Genshin Impact couldn't prevent such a tragedy from happening, that meant that either they weren't Omniscient or were unable to interfere with such events. If the Disaster of Khaenri'ah was something that was meant to happen, then this wouldn't have been such a big deal.

However, in Genshin Impact, while the main character explores the world of Teyvat to find their sibling, they would eventually learn that they were actually serving as the leader of the Abyss Order. The Abyss Order consisted of cursed monsters who originally were the inhabitants of the fallen nation as a result of Celestia's judgment, and now they were seeking a new way to strike back under the banner of the Traveler's sibling.

And like discussed earlier.

The Traveler is an outlander.

Looking at the Unknown God's reaction, I was able to maybe guess something out.

Perhaps there was something going on inside Khaenri'ah that was beyond their reach.

https://youtu.be/UpADlcsIEBo

That's why they spared the sibling Travelers in hopes that they could handle it.

However, evidently, that didn't work out one way or another.

I couldn't be 100% sure.

Hell, I'm not even close to 30% sure.

After all, this was supposed to be content that Genshin Impact's creators have barely touched. In this game's world, we're supposed to explore and find answers to ourselves in everything. From talking to other characters to reading books to even checking the description of every damned Artifact of the game.

But in the off chance that what I was thinking was even remotely in the ballpark...

I have a chance to guarantee my survival.

With that in mind, I unwaveringly spoke.

"I can help."

Those three words were all I could muster.

Even with a rewired mindset and a logical train of thought, it was still hard to disobey natural human instincts. It was like how prey naturally feared predators and only retaliated through casting aside logic to embrace emotional instinct. I couldn't afford to cast away my logical side in this situation though.

I want to live.

My hands tightly clenched upon my knee, but I felt my body weakening. If I hadn't found the motivation and answer to getting out of this mess, I would have already collapsed ages ago. I'm a standard guy who was just on his way to get some coffee after all. I was starting to lose hold of my mental image that was keeping me sane.

It felt like the gun I had was shaking.

My finger was on the trigger, but I couldn't fire just yet.

The Unknown God remained silent, and that silence was breaking my confidence.

Finally, the pressure from the Goddess disappeared and a field of black and orange blocks engulfed us. The bright clouds and everything disappeared. Even the door I was ready to kick down as a last-ditch effort had disappeared. I couldn't even jump off the stone path into the void anymore because I was now standing on a wide floor composed of LEGO bricks of death.

I recollected myself and steadied my breathing.

It was far from what I expected actually, but now that the answer has happened before me, I guess this was the only route that could have occurred. I stopped joking around and hardened myself for the incoming trial. Staring down upon me, with all her domineering might required to handle a mere mortal like me, the Unknown God's lips parted and spoke out my death sentence.

"Prove it."

The air itself seemed to change the moment she said those words. Upon feeling the sensation, I wryly smiled and instinctively reached for my phone. The moment I did so, the Unknown God unleashed a spear of psionic particles with no mercy directly at my chest. The speed was roughly the same as a bullet, if not faster. However, twisting my body and reacting accordingly, I was able to narrowly dodge it before darting to the side.

Yes, I was able to react to it.

After all, this was something that most people in my world can do.

Every other person in my world is a Modern Mage who practices magecraft.

One of the devices they use to cast magic was a specialized smartphone.

Just like the one I have.

My feet planted on the ground to change directions just as the Unknown God prepared to fire yet another series of attacks. She was starting to increase her rate of fire. My instincts were screaming at me to jump to the side, but I cast that aside. The mental image within my head of that loaded gun was ready to fire. If I didn't shoot here, I would only make the situation worse for myself.

Besides.

This was a test.

I may as well give a nasty surprise.

Tapping my phone, I instantly cast a magic circle in front of me and leaped into it.

The magic encoded within the circle wrapped around me like a blanket before dispersing. Instantly right after, the Unknown God unleashed a barrage of spears without mercy. Each spear was launched even faster than the last, but a brief white light and a small melodic tune played before a one-sided barrier manifested in front of me.

It wasn't enough though.

The sound of glass shattering resounded just upon the first few spears.

https://youtu.be/e2neTLMHw9A

Soon after, holes started punching through the shield I made.

Like paper, the barrier got shredded, but it had done its job.

Using the barrier to give me enough time to react, I avoided direct blows to the vitals while closing in. The barrage itself seemed endless, but before it could get any worse, an upbeat tune played from my magic device. A red aura was wrapping itself around me, but it didn't protect me from the incoming attacks. Blood spewed from each blow, but I could still move. The Unknown God gave an intrigued look as I took a few hits, but I paid no mind and used my hands to take hold of the magic that was manifesting.

The barrage stopped for one second.

Just one second.

That was all I needed.

I was ready to fire off my attack, but the Unknown Goddess wouldn't let me off.

In an instant, massive building-sized blocks of neon-orange void were hurled at me from either side of me and the front- cutting me off. The red aura around me erupted into flames as I shot a pillar of fire at one of the meteor-like attacks to propel myself through the small gaps right between the blocks before they collided.

Upon impact, each of the three blocks had combusted into a number of incomprehensible geometric shapes from the force. Using the debris to my advantage, I utilized the flames I conjured as jets to propel myself with three more bursts of fire before the spell's effect ran out. I reached the point where the Unknown God was.

Only to find no one there.

I quickly looked around as my body was about to enter a state of freefall, but I had little to no time to think. A shadow was cast over my head, and I looked up to see a pillar- with the girth of what could have been an entire football field- crashing downwards from above with me right at the center of it. There wasn't any other thing to use as a foothold or for me to use to propel myself off of on either side of me but with a tap of my phone, a black-red light gathered at my fingertips.

Making a gun-like hand gesture, I pointed right at the catastrophic attack looming over me. I wasn't always one for gambles, but when it came to things like this, I couldn't help but think about all the other times I was thrown into a pinch like this one. There was no room for hesitation. In my mind, the mental image of the gun held strong as I finally pulled down on the trigger. In the next instant, all Hell broke loose.

A massive flash cannon was unleashed from the tip of my index and middle finger. A ray of crimson-black destruction seemed to split apart the very air it touched as it made contact with the pillar that was crashing down on me. An ear-deafening explosion sounded out, and yet, the Unknown God's attack didn't shatter. Of course, it couldn't be that easy. I felt my body getting pushed back by the enormous force of her attack on top of the recoil from my own explosive offense. Knocked back by the momentum and power of both things, I went towards the closest surface that I could utilize - the ground.

Twisting my body in mid-air, I tapped my phone once more to activate another spell. Honestly speaking, the situation was horrible, but my heart hadn't wavered one bit. I refused to die here. Not to mention, the end of this little test was near. I had one last trump card up my sleeve that I had saved from my last battle nearly half a year ago. It was a parting gift from a precious friend and partner who fought by my side, so I wanted to avoid using it and live a normal life; but in this situation, I had no other choice.

"Noble Phantasm: Install"

As those words escaped my dry mouth, a held my left hand out. A shining golden light began to manifest on my palm. At the same time, a ring of fire surrounded me. With no other options, I utilized the same red aura spell that created flames for me as I launched myself in an arc while pushing the limits of what Human-Made Magic could produce. Normally, this spell only had three shots, but I used all three at once in a continuous burst with as much dexterity and skill I could muster to weave my way past the seemingly insurmountable obstacle before me.

Expending about a third of the spell's usage, I had finally caught sight of the Unknown God who stared down at me from above. Her expression was calm yet analytical. Her eyes were gauging my value, but they didn't scrutinize me. Just as I was about to unleash the rest of the fire magecraft to propel myself towards her, I realized that there were three more gargantuan pillars just like the first I had just avoided. Each one had already crashed down and walled me off from any other path of escape. This left only one option: a direct confrontation.

How unexpected. For a Goddess, this type of battle style was more human than I had expected. All these little interactions to build up to this point were reminiscent of human behavior, but in the end, wanting to handle things with brute force truly was a god's way of doing things. I didn't mind that though. In fact, with my final ace in a hole, I was positive that I could- at the very least- make the Unknown God falter a bit. In my left hand, a sword had slowly manifested itself.

Through Action, a Man becomes a Hero

Through Death, a Hero becomes a Legend

Through Time, a Legend becomes a Myth,

and by learning from the Myth, a Man takes Action.

It was through this principle that I was able to remember my previous comrade.

Modern Magi of my world managed to create a special ritual that was originally banned.

After new innervations though, it had become commonplace.

The ability to summon heroes, legends, and myths of the past.

My former partner was one of those.

I let loose an ugly battle cry devoid of logic and filled with raw emotion. An Inferno burst into a full-blown tornado that spiraled towards one focal point to shoot me upwards. There was no need to think about anything complicated. From here, all I needed was sheer strength and will.

The Unknown God looked down knowingly as if she had expected this outcome to occur. That didn't shake my confidence. Both she and I were waiting for a moment just like this, and both of us were completely confident in our strengths. However, she was a god, and I was merely a human mage. I could only smile as a divine light seemed to start emitting from her body. A series of pale white lights started to encompass her body.

That didn't matter though. Even if I didn't believe in my own capabilities, I saw firsthand what my partner was able to perform. He too was just a Man who took Action because his homeland needed him. Standing firmly at the walls of his city, overlooking the battlefield as if the entire world was against him despite it not being his fault, my partner would always sigh and complain that it was such a drag.

But he didn't back down.

Believing in the strength that my comrade had left me, I called out the name of the hero's weapon. For the Ancient Greeks, he was nothing like a hero, and to even some of the Greek's greatest warriors, he was a worthy adversary and nemesis who had robbed the lives of many of their comrades. This hero was none other than the Greatest Warrior of Troy - Hector- and the name of his infamous weapon was:

"Durindana!"

A completely golden sword had finished forming in my hand just as the Unknown Goddess extended hers. Behind her, the forces of some mysterious yet warm power seemed to fill the horizons. In her hand, a blindingly bright light had manifested. I wanted to look away, but instead, I slashed forwards multiple times while riding the flames even higher above. The odd streaks of light that were being hurled down at me felt heavy upon Durindana, but that didn't stop me from getting as close as possible to the Unknown God.

The rain of light spears seemed endless.

My lips were dry, but the only other thing on my mind was defending myself

My left arm was sore from all the swinging I had done, but I kept pushing.

The flame spell I used was more than halfway through its usage.

If I didn't get close enough, everything would have been for naught.

Soon, I was on my last wisps of flames. This sword was unable to reach the goddess, who hovered so high up above me. Dancing in the air with the blade, brilliant lights flashed as I converted the force of the attacks into my own momentum by twisting my body in a counterclockwise direction. My right hand reached out after a spear of light nearly ripped the sword out of my left. According to the legends, while Hector's weapon was indeed a sword, it wasn't the only weapon he used.

Durindana would eventually go down in history to become the Sword of Roland - Durandal.

However, Hector's most notoriously iconic weapon form when using Durindara was different.

It wasn't a sword at all, despite his proficiencies at it.

His true mastery, and this weapon's true form, was always a spear.

The shaft of the sword clicked as the handle extended perfectly towards my right hand.

With the weapon on my right side, my left hand on top, and my right closer to the bottom, I swiftly preserved the momentum I had while spinning the newly formed spear in my hands to deflect a few more spears of light and ignited the last bits of flame. Magic power from within my body poured into the weapon as it flared with energy as I reached a climactic point for all my maneuvers until now.

Letting go one hand off the spear, I cocked back the other arm before spinning into a powerful throw boosted by my last bits of magical energy. The spear shot forth with the power to pierce the Heavens as it accelerated like a rocket. The tip of the blade flared as it pushed itself to extreme speeds faster than my eyes enhanced with magic could see. The Unknown God blinked once from her side filled with brilliant lights. For some reason, I must have been hallucinating, but I caught a small smile break out before she grabbed hold of the light and swung at the Noble Phantasm.

From there, my vision faded to black.

When I came to, my eyes were blessed by the presence of a Goddess.

Literally.

Not knowing whether I passed or failed, I strangely felt relieved.

If the fight was to the death, I would have been obliterated centuries ago, but thankfully that wasn't the case. Even then, getting a one-sided beat down doesn't feel that good. Well, if she stepped on me that was a different story-

Pardon me.

The Unknown Goddess seemed to have been casting her gaze at something else. I looked over and saw one of the pillars- that were formerly a part of the bright and cloudy realm of Genshin Impact's starting screen- was missing a piece or two from a certain point upwards.

Missing a piece was an understatement.

I wouldn't have known that there was a pillar there if the base of the pillar hadn't miraculously survived the aftermath of whatever happened during the last instant of the test. Filled with curiosity and nervousness, most of the tension I had before somehow ceased to be as I asked the Unknown God the all-important question.

"Did I pass?"

"No."

I was speechless. You're telling me whatever I did just now wasn't even worth 50% of the score? I don't even want to imagine what 70% is supposed to look like. Leave that garbage bullshit to one of those cheaty isekai brats, or better yet, let one of those silly OP self-inserts with a dictionary of a power list handle this. Then again, I supposed those inserts would rather fuck the Unknown Goddess and wife her rather than fight her...

Either way, as a mortal, I felt quite disheartened.

Saddened, but still curious, I asked why.

After all, even if my abilities weren't the best as a Mage, I thought I did well.

I guess only one of those top-tier Magi could get something like a 65% on this test.

Not to mention, losing my one-time trump card was a pretty big loss.

Sorry Hector, but I lost the souvenir you left for me.

I'll apologize to you if I summon you again, even if you don't remember me.

If I can summon you again.

I might just die here after all.

I waited for my answer in silence for a minute or two before the Unknown God replied.

"The moment you enter the world of Teyvat as you are, you would die."

You know, I would be shocked or dismayed, but it felt like I already died twice.

Lowkey starting to get kind of numb to it.

Still, it's nice that I didn't just get transported and die right off the bat.

The Unknown God continued her explanation.

"The Magecraft that you use is incompatible with this world. Only in a secluded pocket dimension or subspace would you be able to live and use your arts."

"Is the Mana of that world toxic to me?" I asked. Mana was the general term for magic power. Usually, a mage was like an empty vase. The water, Mana, would slowly fill up the vase until it was full. That's the easy way to understand magi biology. However, there were all sorts of different energies that need to be converted and yada yada ya... The Unknown God proved me wrong though.

"Not at all. If anything, it's too strong and pure for you."

Well, shit. Guess I'm stuck with gatekeeping duties.

I'd probably be the biggest pushover gatekeeper in the universe.

I sighed and scratched my head before asking another question.

"What are my options?"

"I will reincarnate you so that your body can adjust to the world of Teyvat."

SWEET! NOT DYING FTW!

"Is there anything you would like me to do?"

Like defeat the Demon King- well they don't exist here, but let's not talk about that.

"There's something you must help prevent."

"Khaenri'ah?"

Shit, that'd be a tall order.

However, I didn't get an answer to that question.

"I cannot say."

Huh? Damn, this sounds too easy. No wonder Khaenri'ah got majestically ruined.

Then again, if you can call upon Genshin Impact's gods and have them go full nuclear on one nation, I'd imagine it'd be pretty easy to hunt down one little virgin Mage. A Mage who can't use magecraft by the way. I tried to think of what the Unknown God was trying to say, but my knowledge for Genshin Impact was like a Wiki or anything.

I do have my phone, but I don't have a signal up in heaven.

Man, it must suck watching over this place.

No wonder the Unknown God looks so grouchy.

"I don't know if I can do what you asked, but I can at least try."

I didn't make any direct promises.

I don't want this biting me back later on.

Plus, how am I supposed to prevent something that I don't even know?

"You will reincarnate and become an allogene candidate. Should your actions and personality be favorable, the gods may bestow you a Gift to help you on your journey."

Wait, what the fuck is an allogene?

Hello? Unknown God? Are we speaking the same language?

Wait, how are we speaking the same-

"Your device is special. I have tampered with it. Another force seemed to have tampered with it as well, but I cannot tell what will unfold. It appears to be harmless, so have no fear."

"Oh, thank you," I replied absentmindedly.

Now that I think about it, wasn't Aether- the male Traveler- here just moments ago? Maybe he had something to do with this, but I didn't say anything. If the Unknown God had a hissy fit because I said he was here, I'd feel a bit bad. That, and the game wouldn't even start. That'd be a pretty big issue since my knowledge was mostly dependent on the game's events. Plus, I ain't no snitch. Ehe.

"You may fully utilize the summoning features of your former world during Moments of Syzygy once, but keep in mind that you may only perform this Ritual up to Three Times."

Damn, so no Servant Army. Not that I had the magic power to do that, but it would have been a little cool to think about. What if I summon Servants for other people? Hmm... yes this could be a marketing scheme. If only I knew what the Hell a Moment of Syzygy was. Whatever it is, it sounds like pure pain, and frankly, it might not even be worth my time. I nodded my head like a typical new worker getting the laydown from their boss and waited for a further explanation.

"You will not be able to use your spells in Teyvat."

FUCK

"You will not be able to return."

Okay, not too bad.

"You should avoid interacting with its inhabitants unless it's necessary."

Pause. I would like to file a complaint to HR-

"The last one is inevitable, but the gods will be watching."

Alright. I have no privacy.

Well, better than back in my world at least.

At least the gods keep to themselves mostly.

With absolute conviction (false), I gave my whole-hearted (false) vow.

"I will do my best for the interests of Teyvat's future."

AKA my well-being. Well, that's basically automatically part of the clause.

The Unknown God gave me a weird, knowing look. For a split second, I thought I saw a mischievous glint in her eyes, but I couldn't look into it any further. Instead, I was distracted by that wonderful smile of hers as she pointed behind me.

"The world of Teyvat is just beyond those doors."

Just like that huh? No sentiments or anything?

Fine. Beats getting hit by LEGO blocks of death any day of the week.

Plus, I hate sappy goodbyes and stuff.

I'm going in with no magecraft or anything, but I'm going to be reincarnated so that I can at least survive in the new world. Not to mention, I will be able to summon Servants in the future at some point in time. If my luck is good enough, I'll be set for life. Positive and wishful thinking filled my mind as I made my way to open the doors. I looked back to say another word to the Unknown God, but she was already gone.

Guess that ends the tutorial.
