San kept his gaze on his target; a dark haired boy standing idly at his locker.

His fourth period class had just finished, and San immediately made his way to a certain section of the building after the school bell rang, letting all the students free.

San snuck up to Wooyoung, quickly wrapping both of his arms around his waist from behind.

Wooyoung, startled at the sudden backhug, nearly dropped the books he was holding. "Hey," San said, resting his chin on Wooyoung's shoulder.

Upon hearing San's voice, Wooyoung instantly registered who it was, grinning at the gesture.

"San," he acknowledged, setting his books down in his locker. He casually placed his hands over the ones wrapped around his waist.

"Do you wanna help me with something?" Wooyoung mused, shutting his locker and attempting to look around and face San.

San, albeit reluctantly, let him out of his hold so he could turn around.

"Help with...?" San raised an eyebrow, seeing a playful smile grow on Wooyoung's face.

"I need to go buy a book for my English class. Come with? There's a coffee shop at the bookstore..." Wooyoung persuaded, tugging on San's sleeve.

San, not totally understanding the purpose of asking him, yet not wanting to miss out on the chance, nodded without hesitation.

"Are you trying to lure me with coffee?" San lightly nudged Wooyoung, the younger laughing as he slung his backpack over his shoulder. The pair began walking, happily chatting as they strolled out of the school.

While approaching the sidewalk, San felt his phone vibrate. He peeked down at the notification.

San, now flustered, shoved his phone in his pocket.

Yunho did make a good point. Why would Wooyoung bring San with him? Unless the boy was just as desperate as San was to spend time with the other...

San took a breath, clearing those thoughts from his mind. He glanced at the boy who walked next to him, talking about whatever topic they'd been discussing as they strolled.

The walk to the bookstore took about fifteen minutes.

The soft chime of the door welcomed the two into the large building, Wooyoung entering first, followed by San.

Wooyoung, checking his phone for which book he needed, began searching for the right section. San, trying to keep up with him, did his best to stay near as he weaved through the aisles.

Eventually, Wooyoung found it. San had never felt more thankful to stop running around.

"Ha. Look at this one," San joked, pointing at a book titled 'Sex for Dummies.'

Wooyoung rolled his eyes. "I was thinking more along the lines of this one..." he said, pulling out a book next to it.

"Emotional Intelligence for Dummies"

San almost cracked up laughing as Wooyoung shoved the book back on its self. "Damn, that's what I need," he commented.

"I think I need both," Wooyoung muttered, causing San's giggles to only worsen.

The pair pointed out and made fun of random books and signs as they made their way to the coffee shop.

San couldn't help but smile every time he made Wooyoung laugh at one of his jokes. He realized he might have been staring at the younger a bit too long as they walked, and quickly diverted his gaze to anywhere but the other boy.

They made their way to the coffee shop, Wooyoung deciding to let San order while he went to find a table. "Just get me whatever," he said when San asked him what to buy for him.

San stood in line, glancing at the menu as he waited for other people to finish ordering.

After a short moment he made it to the cashier, hastily ordering a drink for himself and Wooyoung, with a small cake on the side just for the hell of it. San decided not to mention that he had ordered them one of the more pricy beverages on the menu.

After picking up both finished drinks, he made his way over to the table, taking a seat across from Wooyoung.

"Ooh, what's this?" Wooyoung commented upon seeing San set their order in front of them.

"A surprise," San answered, Wooyoung opening a straw and sticking it through the lid of his drink.

San watched as Wooyoung took a sip of it, taking a moment to process what exactly he'd been given.

"Shit, this is good..." he commented, examining the cup as if confused by what it was. San grinned.

"I'd hope. That's one of my favorite drinks," he commented, casually sipping on his own beverage.

"You not gonna tell me what it is?" Wooyoung questioned, seeing San's mischievous smile.

"I'll make it for you one day if you want. You can watch and see what I put in it," San joked, Wooyoung shaking his head at the other's behavior.

A peaceful, yet not dull conversation arose between the pair, chatting about coffee, the books, and whatever came to mind.

What came to San's mind, however, moreso than the conversation, was that he couldn't seem to force himself to stop looking at the other.

San felt his gaze drawn towards Wooyoung's hands, one of which held his cup, the other absentmindedly tapping on the table surface.

The overwhelming urge to take both hands in his own filled San, slightly scaring him. He pushed the feeling down, knowing that doing so would make the situation awkward.

He thought he must be going crazy.

"San?" Wooyoung's voice caused the boy's gaze to snap up to his face.
San felt like his mind was spinning. The only coherent thoughts coming to him were of the way the other's hair lay tousled on his head, and how Wooyoung's pretty dark eyes stared back at him.

"Uh- yes?" San stuttered out, cringing at himself for whatever the hell had just gone through his mind. He hoped desperately that Wooyoung hadn't noticed anything amiss.

"I asked if you wanted to take a picture?"

San nearly coughed, trying to quickly come up with an answer.

"You mean like... of us?"

"...I meant of the drinks, but that works too?" Wooyoung replied, a sort of embarrassed laugh. San muttered some swear under his breath at the mistake, yet quickly got over it as he saw Wooyoung open his phone.

"Want me to take it?" San said, seeing Wooyoung's battery at a rather low percentage. Wooyoung nodded in confirmation, putting his phone away.

The pair did a cute little photo shoot, overall laughing and messing around. San felt like he hadn't been this happy in his life, although the current moment wasn't anything extremely special.

"Ooh this one is cute," Wooyoung pointed to a rather unflattering picture of the two on San's phone, San immediately covering it up in embarrassment and whining about it.

Wooyoung glanced at the time on his phone, his expression immediately forming into one of dread.

"Crap, I have to go," Wooyoung stated, hastily gathering his belongings and shoving them into his bag.

San, a bit worried at the sudden change in demeanor yet not wanting to intrude, merely nodded. "Okay. This was, uh... fun. You should come book shopping with me next time," San commented as Wooyoung stood, ready to go.

Wooyoung gave him a smile that, unbeknownst to San, was a mix of sadness and adoration. He nodded. "Definitely. I'll text you later," he said, walking out of the area after waving goodbye to San.

San felt as if he released a breath he didn't even know he was holding.

Aside from the current moment's surprise at the other's sudden departure... San thought back through his rollercoaster of emotions during the time at the bookstore. A nervous, almost nauseous feeling washed over him as he remembered having similar thoughts towards the boy in past encounters.

San, now feeling a bit shaky, opened his Instagram. He hadn't posted in a while, but maybe taking a moment to update and reply to comments would distract him from his clouded mind.

He chose a picture as if on autopilot and posted, waiting for the comments and likes to flow in.
