Day 23
He gazed down at them with steely ice,
Before breaking the mask, shouting from his palace, spittle flying about,
'Begone, fool, or pay the price!'
They glared back, undeterred by the shout
We won't stand down- you are the monster behind this, and you ought to pay!
'A monster?' He laughed, a cold thing that was an abomination among the beasts of hell
'You haven't seen the least of it all, little, naive stray
'Go on, now- don't dwell'
You can't do this! they shouted, I can and will fight for what I find right!
'Ah,' he said, 'you chose wrong, little bird.'
And how so? they started to snap, before becoming overwhelmed by a terrible sight
It was as if all the world were clashing as his men swarmed down, and, for once, they couldn't find words
He cackled as they fought and subdued below his throne, vanishing from the fight
Leaving his men to fight those who had gathered to put things to right
As they struggled, whipping to and fro, all peacities forgotten, the light
seemed ever so far away- and it only got further as they dragged them down and they finally lost their fight
The last thing they heard before it all fading out
Were gunshots, loud and terribly clear,
Their message ringing without a doubt:
This is inevitable. If you fight you will be confined to fear.
