Afterword
To all who took time to pore over even the smallest bit of this small anthology- thank you so, so much for sticking with me till the end. This story, told in vignettes and small clippets of sorts, is the sort of thing that I've longed to write all my life; so, when I learned April was the month of poetry, I thought to myself, what better opportunity could I have?
Genesis tells the tale of an anonymous poet striving to come to terms with life, and in these short, daily poems, they have been depicted as toiling along a path of learning to respect and appreciate nature, not restraining it to their own beliefs. Although many authors (or poets, in this case) may find themselves putting snippets of themselves into their character's shoes, it so happens that this was, quite honestly, mostly a new experience for me. I did put a bit myself into my main character in that they're an, ah, interesting writer, but otherwise, I really don't have too much experience dealing with the impact nature has upon society and our world. Writing this was truly a wonderful experience, and although the act itself is an absolutely wonderful thing, it means even more to me that someone has looked at my writing and decided that it meant something to them as well.
All in all, this past month was something truly amazing, and I hope to perhaps visit this realm of prose and poetry once again in the future- so, till we meet again, reader.
[P.S. And a special thanks to my first dependable reader, @SilverLyrebird ! I truly appreciate their constance in truly reading through each and every day of this collection- it's what gave me the drive to keep going. ♥]
