PHYSICAL DESCRIPTON
Not to lie, Crim is a handsome dragon. He's quite trim, stands a head taller than most, and carries himself with pride. You'll often find him sauntering around the Sky Kingdom; wings stretched, shoulders back, head held high.
His scales are a basic coral red, overlaid with gold plates that flash in the sun. He insists they're natural, but the apothecary will tell you exactly what treatment he uses if you pay her enough.
He has a proud face and an aquiline muzzle; his eyes are a standard amber colour.
Noble looks run in his family. (Unfortunately, humility does not).

PERSONALITY
He calls himself hot. His friends call him hot-headed. Blue blood has blessed Crim with the looks of a prince and an ego the size of a mountain. He's exceptionally proud of his lineage, and won't hesitate to let other dragons know who he is, who his father is and exactly what he thinks of them.
He's a huge casanova, and will frequently be found chatting some hapless SkyWing up. He can be a smooth talker when he wants to be, but most of the time, other dragons find him brash and haughty. Commitment in general is not his forte, so most of his flings are short-lived.
Crim makes a habit of flinging himself into challenges far beyond his league. Although he may have a handsome head on his shoulders, he's neither a thinker nor a fighter. He can't help it, of course; it's not his fault that diplomat wanted his seat back. How was he to know that dragoness had been a duchess? No, no, of course he was stronger than that soldier - in fact, he would challenge him there and then. His peers have great fun goading him.
When he does find himself truly beaten, Crim refuses to admit defeat. He can be very sulky at times, and often makes excuses.

BACKSTORY
For all his talk, Crim isn't actually a noble-blooded dragon. His father, Aurulent, was a soldier in the War of SandWing Succession. He was decorated for bravery in battle and eventually promoted to General.
While on report in the Sky Kingdom, Aurulent fell in love with Ephemeral, a duchess' daughter. With her mother's permission, the two were married and allowed a room in the palace chambers.
Ephe fell pregnant during a particularly difficult time in the war. General Aurulent was summoned to the battlefield, and she was forced to raise their son alone. Crim spent the first two years of his life in luxury; to compensate for Aurulent's absence, his mother would spend hours doting on him. As a result, he grew to become quite spoilt.
Just after Crim's third birthday, Ephemeral, too, was called to battle. Crim was transferred to the Wingery with the other SkyWing dragonets. Seeing his peers with their parents, he became jealous; he began to flaunt his father's letters and boast about his achievements, terrified that he would fall behind them or be seen as inferior in some way. This eventually became his solace: No, my parents aren't here, but who cares? I'm the son of a General!
When Crim was four, news arrived of a vicious coup with a band of SeaWings. Among the casualties was Ephemeral. Around the same time, Aurulent was wounded in a battle near the Ice Kingdom. Desperate, Crim clung to the hope that his father's return would mend things.
Instead of a shining soldier, the dragon he found was desolate. While recovering, Aurulent struggled to bond with his son. To compensate for this, Crim resorted once again to the only tactic he knew: bragging to smother his own insecurity.
Eventually, when the War ended, Queen Ruby allowed Aurulent to move into Ephemeral's estate. Her mother had passed away some years ago. Aurulent was proclaimed an honorary Lord and allowed to raise his son in peace.
Since Aurulent is male and not of royal blood, his heirship will only decline over time. Crim does not appear to be fazed by this, and continues to flaunt as he pleases.
