Adventure
Hi guys! Sorry I haven't updated in a while, I was on a trip until wednesday. Enjoy!
Sunstar stalked quietly along, her tail moving back and forth and her wings twitching with excitement. Sleet sat in front of her, completely oblivious to the attack that was coming. Sunstar grinned wickedly, spreading her wings and jumping, gliding through the air before coming to a stop on Sleet's back. She landed with a growl, digging her razor sharp claws into his scales. He laughed, pulling her off. She kicked and snarled, the fiercest dragon to ever roam Pyrrhia. Sleet set her down, keeping one talong on her tail, pinning her down. "Your claws are still dull." He said. "You haven't defeated me yet." Sunstar growled. "I will." She said confidently. "Just you watch me." Sleet removed his talon from her tail and let her go, scooping her up into a hug. "Dad!" Sunstar protested, wriggling free. Sleet laughed at his adventurous daughter. She was a year old now, and her spirit had only grown. A few days ago he had caught her sneaking up on Nix, which wouldn't have ended well. And he had seen her stalking a rabbit, trying to blend in with the snow. But her orange mark gave her away everytime. Sunstar had gotten very annoyed with her spot, trying to coat herself in snow or crawl forward on her back so it didn't show. She ran off with her wings tucked at her sides. Snowstorm was waiting outside home when Sunstar got there. "Come here, you." She said, hugging her niece. "Did you defeat him yet?" Sunstar sniggled close to her aunt. "Not yet." She said. "But I almost left a dent in one of his scales!" Snowstorm laughed. Sunstar loved her aunt. She played with Sunstar, made time for her whenever she needed it. Worming her way out of her aunts grasp, Sunstar padded off towards the entrance to the Ice Kingdom. "Where are you going?" Snowstorm called after her. Sunstar turned. "I'm going on an adventure." She said, taking off into the air. She soared out of the Ice Kingdom, already knowing where she wanted to go. When the scorching hot sands of the desert came into view, she slowly drifted down to the ground, landing on the yellow sand. Steam rose where her icy cold talons touched the hot sand. Walking along the Sand Kingdom, Sunstar looked around, spotting cacti and a few lizards. When a particularly large lizard came into view, Sunstar dropped low to the ground and began to prowl forward, keeping her wings still. The lizard turned it's head her way, then went back to being completely still. Sunstar prepared to pounce, and was just about to leap when-"What are you doing?" She whirled with her teeth bared and spines bristling. A small Sandwing stood behind her. He threw up his wings when she turned, taking a step back. "I'm hunting a lizard." She said matter-of-factly. "Can't you tell?" The Sandwing cocked his head. "Not really." He said. Sunstar glared. "Who are you?" She asked warily. The Sandwing sat down and put his tail over his talons. "Mirage, at your service." He said, flicking his tail. Sunstar stepped a little closer, slowly circling the Sandwing. He looked at her. "And you are?" He prompted, flicking his tail yet again. Sunstar flinched as the barb at the came close to touching her. "Sunstar." She said. "Not that it's any of your business." Mirage flicked his tail again. "Actually, it kind of is." He said. Sunstar gave him a confused look. "How so?" She said. Mirage flicked his tail, and Sunstar twitched her wing irritatedly. "I'm a Sandwing." He said. "I live here. You're an Icewing, so you're an intruder." Sunstar tensed. Mirage hopped up. "But don;t worry." He said brightly. "I won't tell them you were even here." Sunstar looked at him sideways, noticing peculiar silver scales on the undersides of his wings. "What are those?" She asked curiously. Mirage blushed. "Technically, I'm part Nightwing." He said, embarrassed. "But you can't tell other than those!" He said. Sunstar tilted herself to the side so he could see her orange spot. "I'm part Nightwing." She said. "And part Rainwing. And part Seawing." Mirage looked confused. "How?" He asked. Sunstar sighed. "My great grandmother is Glory of the Rainwings. My grandmother is Sunstar, so my aunt is Queen Sea Star, and my grandfather is Seafoam. My great grandfather is Deathbringer, who is a Nightwing, and my father is an Icewing." Mirage looked extremely confused as he tried to comprehend what Sunstar had said. "So...you're Rainwing royalty?" He asked. Sunstar shrugged. "Technically, yes." Mirage brightened. "I'm Sandwing royalty." He said. Sunstar looked at him expectantly. "My mother is Queen Scorpion." He said. "So I'm the Sandwing prince." Sunstar nodded. "Who's your father?" She asked. "DreamEnder." Mirage answered, flicking his tail. Sunstar frowned. "Why do you keep flicking your tail like that?" SHe asked, and Mirage blushed. "It's just a habit." He said. "I can't help it." Sunstar shrugged. "Ok." She said. Then she grinned as an idea came to mind. "Be back here tomorrow at the same time, same place." She said, starting to walk away. "Why?" Mirage asked. Sunstar looked at him. "Because we're friends." She said.
