Chapter 7: Day 5 of Training

Blaniana Pov-

This was my final day of training until I can show the Secret Council what I can do. I was on the roof with my father. He set out a wooden beam for me to stand on, I practiced my balancing skills and I got it down.

"Now, today is your last day of your training," My father said, getting ready. "I have decided for this day, you are going to act like you were doing a show for the council." I nodded, I got out my sword and practiced my turns and flips and blocks.

"The first test will be about balance; you will have to do flips and-"

"So basically showing off?" I interrupted, swinging my sword.

"Exactly," he said. I shrugged and put my sword back. I got on the beam and balanced myself again. I turned towards my father, waiting for his approval. He nodded and I got to work.

I back-flipped to the beam and wield out my sword from its shaft. I start blocking and doing flips, I even did a head stand and kicked up landing on my feet. I look at my father and he nodded, "Now close your eyes and do flips and sword stances." he commanded.

I obeyed my father's command and closed my eyes. I focused on my surroundings, my feet on the old chipped beam, the warm wind breezing. I took a deep breathe and started to flip forwards; I difficult flip to do. As I did, I slashed my sword like if someone was there. I was now using my imagination; imaging if there was people on each side of me, like shadows.

I flipped and slashed each one of them, one by one they fell and disappeared into the darkness. I was then stuck in between two shadows on each of the side of the beam. They both were ready to strike; the one on my left lunged at me, there was no time to do a flip so I jumped off from the beam. Quickly, I grabbed the beam with my free hand and pushed up, now flying in the air. I landed on the beam successfully, and lunged towards the two shadows in front of me. I felt this power, this adrenaline, in me. I put both of my hands on the grip of the sword and jumped. I slashed both of the shadows and balanced my stance.

I opened my eyes and breathed heavily, I looked at my sword and saw a brim of red.

'What the?!' I thought. I turned to my father and he was stunned.

"You..." He only made out. "You have possessed the power,"

I was confused, I walked towards him, "Power? What power, father?" I asked him.

He finally took a deep breath and calmed down, "In every generation, they past on a power, a legacy each ancestor finds in themselves." He hold my shoulders. "Our generation, we have the legacy of strength and courage. It takes time, years, to master. However, by the looks of it, you have found it."

I was speechless, yet again.

"I know its a lot to take in, but let's continue to out training." I nodded, not trusting my mouth to say anything.

"Alright, let's do hand-to-hand combat," my father had started. I nodded and we started the lesson.

Grey's Pov-

I just got done doing my training for this afternoon, so I decided to see what 'Blaine' was doing. She wasn't at the church, so I'm guessing she is on the roof with her father training. I went over and hid in the shadows, looks like they're doing combat skills.

For a newbie, she is doing pretty well. She kicks then replaces it with a punch then combo. Nice strategy, unfortunately it didn't stop her father to grabbing her leg and tripping her.

Talk about harsh, for a girl, I mean.

Her father calls her off for a break and heads down. She stays up on the roof, looking down into the city. I smile at her curiosity and wonder. I got out the shadows and got behind her, I poked her arm then went to the opposite side of her. She turned back, looking around her. I chuckled and poked her other shoulder. I got close to her face when she turned around, "Eyes here, sweetheart."

She yelped and was about to fall back. I caught her, putting my hand behind her back. "Wow, I didn't know you would be falling for me," I smirked. She blushed again and got out of my grasp, "W-what are you doing?" she stuttered.

I shrugged, "Well, I had some free time, so I decided to visit you," I looked at her. "And I was wondering if you remember me,"

She sighed, "Sadly no, you look familiar, but I can't put my finger on it."

"Oh well," I sighed.

She was frustrated, "How come you can't tell me your name, you a wuss?" she asked mockingly. I gripped my fists,

"What did you just say?" I asked, gritting my teeth.

She chuckled, "Are you deaf? I called you a wuss,"

I chuckled evilly, "You'll regret messing with me sweetheart," she yelped and ran. I chased her, 'This should be fun,' I thought .

Blaniana Pov-

Maybe teasing him wasn't a good idea. I turned around and he was raging towards me. I jumped to rooftops and went through alleyways. I saw a group of monks and decided to blend with them, I put my head down and both my hands together. I saw him trying to look for me in the crowded city. I finally was in the clear, and climbed the rooftops again.

I got to a save place and took a breath. I look around, no one was here. I sighed in relief and took a look around me; it was south of Valego, quiet and peaceful as always. No one was out yet, so I decided to head back home.

I heard a snap, I looked around and saw no one out. I look down and saw that my foot broke the branch beneath me. I sighed, but then was tackled to the ground. I opened my eyes and saw him, hovering over me with a grin painted on his face. "Took you long enough," I said, pushing him aside.

He chuckled, "Sorry sweetheart, missed me?" I rolled my eyes, "Why do you call me, 'sweetheart'?" I asked him, brushing off the dirt from the tackle.

"Why not?" he gets up and takes a step towards me.

I took a step back, "I don't know," he takes a step forward.

I took another step back, on the edge of the building again, "Damn it," I cursed under my breath.

I felt his hand grabbing my chin softly, "Don't curse, sweetheart," he clicks his tongue shaking his head. "It doesn't suit you," he smirked. He was closed to my face, I felt his warm breath on my lips that heated up my cheeks. We were only an inch away, his nose touching mine. I held my breath, not knowing what to do next. He saw my reaction and leaned back, finally letting my breath out.

"Go on, your father is probably worried about you," he said. I nodded and started to make my way to my house. I look back and see him gone, I shook my head.

Finally to my destination, I had to get a lecture from my mother again about not wandering to far in the city. I looked to father to see if he can kiss her to make her stop. He shook his head, giving me a look. I sighed as I continued to hear more on her lecture.

Moments later it was night fall, my last training in the shadows. Again my father was going to do the 'hide-and-seek' kind of procedure, but harder. I shrugged and tried to find a hiding spot. I put my mask over my mouth, making it easier for me to hide in the shadows. I leaned in more in the shadow, just like Grey told me last time.

I waited for over an hour and father still hasn't found me yet. I was started to get tired, barely keeping my eyes open, until someone startled me from behind.

I turned around and it was Grey, with his mask and hood, only covering half of his face showing his mouth. "I see that he is trying hard this time,"

I nodded and see if he was coming, I yawned, "One of the most hardest things to do when hiding in the shadows is falling asleep," he said

My eyes, I could barely keep open. I grit my teeth, "If you talk about sleep, I swear, I will kick you to the other side of the city," he backed off. I heard the whistle, "Finally," I sighed. I turned around to see if Grey was there, but he wasn't. I got out of the shadows and went to my father, he said to call it a night, we both went inside the house. I got changes out of my clothes and put them in the basket of laundry I need to clean. I got into my night gown and got in my quilt. I closed my eyes and slept.

Hey guys, its been too long. I thought I would have more time writing some of my books, but my summer has been pretty busy. I start summer classes this month, but luckily is only two day a week. I'm going to update some of my books and probably my RP book, so check that out.

See ya later!
