Twinkleshine: "There you are, Dusk! Moon Dancer is having a little get-together in the west castle courtyard. You wanna come?"

Dusk: "Oh, sorry, girls... I've got a lot of studying to catch up on."

Twinkleshine: "Does that pony do anything except study?"

Lyre Heartstrings: "I think he's more interested in books than friends. Well, not counting Princess Y/n but she's not in Canterlot right."

Twinkleshine: "At least, she sent Moon Dancer her gift beforehand." She said as the two nodded before trotting off.

Dusk Shine galloped forward towards his home and lab in Canterlot within the grounds of of Prince Solaris's castle.

Dusk Shine: "I know I've heard of the Elements of Harmony." He said while tossing the double doors of his home wide open with his magic, unknowingly smacking into his assistant and baby dragon: Barbara

Barbara: "Ow!" She yelped out as the door smacked into her as Dusk Shine galloped inside and began looking throughout his home for Barbara.

Dusk Shine: "Barb! Bar-bara! Barbara?!" He shouted out then saw that Barbara closed the door with a damaged gift impaled on her tail.

Barbara was shown to be a light mulberry scaled female dragon with light green scale plated belly, heart shaped side head scales with neon green head scales as well spines and bright green eyes.

Dusk Shine: "There you are. Quick, find me that old copy of Predictions and Prophecies. What's that for?" He questioned as he pointed his hoof toward the impaled gift on her tail.

Barbara: She looked at her tail then removed the gift from it. "Well, it was a gift for Moon Dancer, but..." She said sadly as the teddy bear that was damaged fell onto the floor with a squeak.

Dusk Shine: "Oh, Barbara, you know we don't have time for that sort of thing." He said while he went upstairs and began using his magic to look throughout the books on the shelves above him.

Barbara: "But we're on a break!" She whined and began dodging books Dusk was tossing around.

Dusk Shine: "No, no, no... no, no, no!" He said as he began getting frustrated then grunts. "Barb!" He shouted out not seeing that Barbara was putting the books back on their designed spots.

Barbara: "It's over here!" She shouted out holding out the book that Dusk was looking for.

Dusk Shine: "Ah! Elements, Elements, E, E, E... Aha! Elements of Harmony, see: Stallion in the Moon?" He said reading aloud while arching a brow.

Barbara: "Stallion in the Moon? But that's just an old ponies' tale." She said while carefully shelving the books still.

Dusk Shine: "Stallion, stallion... aha! The Stallion in the Moon, myth from olden pony times. A powerful pony who wanted to rule Equestria, defeated by the Elements of Harmony and imprisoned in the moon. Legend has it that on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in his escape, and she will bring about nighttime eternal!" He said with a gasp. "Barbara! Do you know what this means?"

Barbara: "No- whoa!" She said before the ladder wobbling than made her fall off until she smack landed onto Dusk's back. "Ow! Sorry, Dusk."

Dusk Shine: "It's alright, Barb." He said before straightening out his tail as Barb slid down. "Now, Take a note please, to the Prince." He said

Barbara: "Okie dokie." She said as she pulled out scroll of parchment and a quill from out of nowhere which made Dusk laugh a bit before he cleared his throat.

Dusk Shine: "My dearest teacher, my continuing studies of pony magic have led me to discover that we are on the precipice of disaster!" He said logically while hearing quill scratch behind him until Barbara was having trouble with the more difficult words.

Barbara: "Hold on. Preci... preci..."

Dusk Shine: "Threshold."

Barbara: "Threh..."

Dusk Shine: "Uh, brink?" He said before face hooved himself with a sigh. "Ugh, that something really bad is about to happen!" He said as Barbara began writing again. "For you see, the mythical Stallion in the Moon is in fact Darkhorse Knight, and he's about to return to Equestria, and bring with him eternal night! Something must be done to make sure this terrible prophecy does not come true. I await your quick response. One of your faithful students, Dusk Shine." He said proudly with a smile.

Barbara: "Dus...k Shi...ne. Got it!" She said while rolling up the scroll and wrapped a red ribbon seal around it.

Dusk Shine: "Great! Send it."

Barbara: "Now?"

Dusk Shine: "Of course!"

Barbara: "Uh, I dunno, Dusk, Prince Solaris a little busy getting ready for the Summer Sun Celebration. And it's like, the day after tomorrow."

Dusk Shine: "That's just it, Barbara. The day after tomorrow is the thousandth year of the Summer Sun Celebration! It's imperative that the Prince is told right away!"

Barbara: "Dusk, I think you're more worried about somepony else aren't..."

Dusk Shine: "Barb, This is important!"

Barbara: "Whoa! Okay, okay!" She squealed out before taking a deep inhale of breath then blew out green flames onto the parchment as it was sent off in a flow on smoke. "There, it's on its way. But I wouldn't hold your breath..."

Dusk Shine: "Oh, I'm not worried, Barb. The Prince trusts me completely. In all the years he's been my mentor he's never once doubted me." He said before Barbara hiccup up a new scroll from flames. "See? I knew he would want to take immediate action."

Barbara: She unraveled the new scroll before she clears her throat, to speak more regal. "My dearest, most faithful student Dusk. You know that I value your diligence and that I trust you completely." She read as Dusk smiled with pride and a puffed out chest until... "But you simply must stop reading those dusty old books!" She finished as Dusk Shine gasped out in disbelief

Back in Ponyville during the early Morning dreaming

A c/c alicorn mare slept in her bed with her orthros dog at the bottom keeping her bed warm while unknowingly to the mare, her horn was a glow with the aura color of f/c and her cutiemark glowed underneath the blankets the same f/c. Soon the mare awoken in a milky scene decorated with the galaxy filled with a many stars and the full moon. A place she's been after she fell asleep, so many times.

Y/n: "Beautiful as always." She said while sitting up on her haunches before her ears perked up a bit hearing hoof beats behind her then stopped beside her. "Good morning, Artemis." She said looking back towards a tall stallion a foot taller than her.

Artemis was shown as a Alicorn stallion prince with a deep dark blue like coat of a dark night sky without stars, his eyes were shown bluish crystal as if a moonlight bathed ocean. He wore dark black armor decorated with a silvery crescent moon and silver horse shoes, and finally his mane as well tail were held by silver bands decorated with swirls. His inner blue night sky mane and tail resembled the star ridden galaxy sky while the outer nebula of purple resembled the sky as the sun was fully set. Finally the stallion's cutiemark was shown to be a crescent moon in the dark night sky.

Artemis: "Good morrow, fairest mare." He spoke up in a olden pony tongue of old English as he looked down at the c/c alicorn mare. "Are you here to sing an enchanted lullaby for me to rest with ease without that villian to harm I?" He questioned but he already knew the answer for this alicorn mare had been appearing in his dream realm for many moons and evading the vile creature that kept his true self trapped within his own mind. At first Artemis was cautious thinking it was a ploy to lower his guard til she kept returning every night and left with the dawn. They would talk, play and sometimes she would sing him to a restful sleep.

Y/n: "Artemis, I told you that you can call me, Y/n" She said while blushing a bit at the stallion's compliment on her being a fair mare. "But, yes, I am going to sing for you so get comfy." She said as Artemis lied down on to the cloud ridden sky and placed his head onto his front hooves. A smile showed onto her muzzle and took a deep breath before she began singing out as the stars above glimmered. Her horn enlighten with f/c aura forming images of her and a unicorn colt her age and best pony friend.

Once Y/n had finished the song, she looked to her side to see Artemis was soundly asleep before she put a protective barrier around the alicorn prince of f/c magic to stop the villian from getting to the Prince of the night.

Y/n: "Sleep well, Prince Artemis. I'll see you soon I hope." She said while her image began fading away as she was waking up in the her bed by Achilles and Socrates licking her face gently. "Mmm~ Goodmorning, Achilles and Socrates." She said while getting out of bed and let the orthros outside to play as she got ready for the day then headed off to city hall to meet up with Mayor Mare to assist her.

Ponyville then to Town Hall

Y/n walked out of her villa home and took a deep breath of crisp morning air and waved towards little foals as they giggled happily. Y/n spread out her c/c and f/c speckled wings than took off into the air to fly towards town hall.

Y/n: "Good morning, Mayor. How is everything coming along for the celebration tomorrow morning?" She asked while the older mare who was looking over a checklist board with the princess.

Mayor Mare: "Good morning to you as well, Princess. And everything is going well. Applejack and his family are preparing the feast, Elusive is decorating the main hall as we speak. Bubble Berry is in charge of the nightly party for tonight to keep everypony up, Butterscotch is rehearsing with his bird choir in the park and of course, Rainbow Blitz is charged with clearing the clouds." She explained as Y/n poured her a cup of tea with her magic. "Thank you, your highness."

Y/n: "You're welcome, Mayor and I can hardly await tonight's and tomorrow festivities." She said til a scroll poofed in front of her alight with golden magic. "Oh, a scroll from Prince Solaris." She said as she broke the wax seal and began reading the parchment.

Solaris: "To My Sweet little wonder, I'll be spending a overseer to you to be given a tour of Ponyville and the preparations of the festivities. Also I sent this letter to warn you, The Stallion in the Moon will arrive with this upcoming day but I know that I taught you well in the ways of magic and friendship, but a certain colt must learn this lesson as well.

Stay safe, your guardian Solaris"

Y/n: She rolls up the scroll and sent it back to her home before telling the mayor that she had to go meet this overseer of the celebration. "Be well, Mayor Mare goodbye." She said while walking out of the town hall and looked out onto Ponyville smiling before trotting along the street with tiny filles and colts following after her asking her if she'd sing for them. "Alright, my little ponies." She said before singing out with the tiny foals followed after her like ducklings did their mother duck.

As Y/n sang out smiling with the tiny fillies and colts walking on until the song finished up as the school bell rang out signaling the foals it was time for school. The little ponies hugged the princess before running off to school while she waved them off than continued trotting on to the designated area to meet the overseer of the celebration. She squinted her e/c eyes to see a royal pegasus guard drawn chariot flying through the air but couldn't see the passagers.

Barbara: "My dear Dusk, there is more to a young pony's life than studying, so I'm sending you to supervise the preparations with somepony special for the Summer Sun Celebration in this year's location: Ponyville. And, I have an even more essential task for you to complete: make some friends!" She squealed as Dusk Shine groaned unhappily while rolling up the scroll. "Look on the bright side, Dusk. The Prince arranged for you to stay in a library, and I heard somepony special is escorting you around. Doesn't that make you happy?" She questioned while Dusk perked up but not the way she thought.

Dusk Shine: "Yes, yes it does. You know why? Because I'm right! I'll check on the preparations as fast as I can, then get to the library to find some proof of Darkhorse Knight Knight's return." He said firmly set in his mind.

Barbara: "Then... when will you make friends, like the Prince said, plus what about the tour?" She asked

Dusk Shine: "He said to check on preparations. I am his student, and I'll do my royal duty, but the fate of Equestria does not rest on me making friends." He said seriously as the chariot landed on the ground below while the royal guards whinnying and snorted. "Thank you, sirs." He said politely

Barbara: "Maybe the ponies in Ponyville have interesting things to talk about. Come on, Dusk, just try!" She encouraged him to talk or at least say something.

Dusk Shine: "Um... hello?" He said only for the pink earth pony stallion to jump into the air with a prolonged gasp then galloped off into the dust. "Well, that was interesting all right." He said sarcastically until the sound of famaliar laughter hit his as well Barbara's ears. "Is that?" He questioned before looking over his shoulder to see his foalhood best pony friend forever; Princess Y/n L/n.

Y/n: "Oh, Bubble Berry is always a hoot. He did the something to me when I first came to Ponyville but he sort of 'dropped in' onto me." She said with a hidden joke in her words until she was suddenly hugged by a little light purple baby dragon. "I missed you too, Barbara." She said while hugging her back before letting the dragon climb up onto her back as she trotted up to Dusk Shine. "Hello, Duskie, surprised to see me?" She asked while giggling at Dusk's slacked jaw til she closed his muzzle for him.

Dusk Shine: "Y-Y/n, you're here." He stuttered with a blush especially when Y/n nuzzled her head underneath his chin while being mindful of her horn.

Y/n: "Of course, I'm here now let's go Duskie. We've got a lot of work to do and I can hardly wait to introduce you to the friends that I've made here." She said with a smile on her face. "Barbara, what's the first thing on the list?" She asked

Barbara: She giggles then looks at the checklist while the trio walked towards a giant orchard and farm. "Summer Sun Celebration official overseer's checklist. Number one, banquet preparations: Sweet Apple Acres."

Y/n: "The best apples, I've ever had in all of Equestria. So many different recipes for desserts and drinks!" She squealed out happily as the trio trotted into Sweet Apple Acres.

Applejack: "Yeehaw!" A strong texan voice rang out as two back legs smacked against a full apple tree bursting with the fruit to fall into bushel buckets underneath the tree perfectly.

Dusk Shine: He sighed deeply. "Let's get this over with..." He grumbles while putting on a smile and walked towards the earthpony stallion, whom was loading up buskets of apples into a cart. "Good afternoon. My name is Dusk Shine--" He started to introduce himself only for one of his forth hooves to be pulled into a strong hoofshake.

Applejack: "Well, howdy-doo, Mister Dusk, a pleasure makin' your acquaintance. I'm Applejack. We here at Sweet Apple Acres sure do like makin' new friends!" He said with a smile then saw Y/n beside the unicorn stallion. "Howdy, Sugarcube." He said as Y/n trotted over towards him and hugged him.

Dusk Shine: "Friends? Actually, I-"

Applejack: "So, what can I do you for?" He asked while Dusk's hoof was still moving up and down til Y/n stopped it giggling with Barbara but looked away when Dusk gave them a seriously glance.

Dusk Shine: He clears his throat a bit. "Well, I am in fact here to supervise preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration. And you're in charge of the food?" He asked while Applejack nodded his head.

Applejack: "We sure as sugar are! Would you care to sample some?"

Dusk Shine: "As long as it doesn't take too long..." He started to say til the sound of a triangle ringing out into the air by Applejack.

Applejack: "Soup's on, everypony!" He shouted out as Y/n quickly latched onto Dusk Shine when a huge group of earth ponies corralled to a gazebo that held an overseer's table. Y/n, Dusk, and Barbara popped out from the crowd at the head of the table. "Now, why don't I introduce y'all to the Apple family?" He said as he sat down by Dusk Shine.

Dusk Shine: "Thanks, but I really need to hurry-" He started to say til Y/n placed her hoof over his mouth and shook her head. Ponies lined up at the table

Applejack: "This here's Apple Fritter. Apple Bumpkin. Red Gala. Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Caramel Apple, Apple Strudel, Apple Tart, Baked Apples, Apple Brioche, Apple Cinnamon Crisp..." He spoke rapidly as his family put various apple made treats onto the table while he took a deep breath before continuing on. "Macareina, Apple Buck,..." He said before shoving a granny smith apple into Dusk's mouth. "And Pappy Smith." As Dusk and Barbara looked over at a elderly stallion sleeping in a rocking chair. "Up'n'attem, Pappy Smith, we got guests." He said gently waking up his grandcolt.

Pappy Smith: He snorts deeply then woke up. "Wha..? Soup's on? I'm up, here I come, ahm comin'..." He said while walking over to the table as Y/n gave up her seat for him. "Thank ya kindly, Sweetheart." He said as Y/n helped him sit down.

Applejack: "Why, I'd say you're already part of the family!" He shouted out pulling Dusk Shine into a side hug and accidentally cracked the unicorns back.

Dusk Shine: He spits out a chewed up apple then nervously laughted. "Okay, well, I can see the food situation is handled, so we'll be on our way."

Apple Buck: "Aren't you gonna stay for brunch?" He asked while looking at the unicorn with big puppy dog eyes.

Dusk Shine: "Sorry, but we have an awful lot to do..." He said as the whole Apple family sighed in disappointment, Dusk looked over at Y/n and Barbara for help but only saw the two girls were giving him puppy eyes as well. "Alright...fine. We'll stay for a bit." He said as the Apple family cheer out loud alongside Barbara and Y/n.

Y/n: "Here, Duskie." She said while giving him a plate of food with her f/c magic as she picked up a apple crisp bowl with fresh vanilla ice cream melting slightly on top. "Eat up, maybe you won't be so grumpy then." She said before she began eating than talked to members of the Apple family as well, playing with Apple Buck and helping Macareina unloading freshly squeezed cider into a mugs.

Barbara: "Food's all taken care of, next is weather." She said while Y/n walked beside her.

Dusk Shine: "Ugh... I ate too much pie..." He said trotting behind the girls with a full stomach.

Y/n: "I told you, Duskie that Applejack's family makes some scrumptious treats." She said while ruffling his mane a bit. "Plus, it was cute seeing you face plant yourself into that pie." She said while giggling before looking over at Barbara. "Who are we meeting next?" She asked politely.

Barbara: "Hmm, there's supposed to be a Pegasus pony named Rainbow Blitz clearing the clouds." She said as Y/n moved over towards Barbara and took out a timer watch.

Dusk Shine: "Well, he's not doing a very good job, is he?" He questioned as he looked up at the cloud ridden sky before something slammed onto him and into a muddle puddle. "Nng." He groaned as his right eye twitched a bit.

Rainbow Blitz: He let out a sheepish laugh while getting off who he slammed into when landing. "Uh, 'scuse me?" He said with even more sheepish laughter as Dusk Shine glared up at him. "Lemme help you." He said while helping the fellow stallion back up than flew off only to come back with a rain cloud and began hopping on it, washing the mud and grime off of the stallion then looked over the cloud to see the unicorn was now clean but drenched. "Oops, I guess I overdid it. Um, uh, how about this?" He said while flying around the stallion in a rainbow colored tornado. "My very own patented Rain-Blow Dry! No no. Don't thank me. You're quite welcome." He said while gently landing on the ground only to burst out laughing seeing the stallion's mane and tail were poofed up hilariously which made Barbara laugh as well and Y/n giggle a bit.

Dusk Shine: "Let me guess. You're Rainbow Blitz." He asked sarcastically

Rainbow Blitz: "The one and only. Why, you heard of me?" He asked with a smile

Y/n: "He's the best friend that I mentioned to you while flying yesterday, Blitz." She said as she got a hug from the pegasus stallion before he flew up to a cloud and gestured her to come up with him. The alicorn mare stretched out her wings until she flied up onto the cloud where her friend sat.

Dusk Shine: "I heard you were supposed to be keeping the sky clear." He said firmly than sighed. "I'm Dusk Shine, and the Prince sent me to check on the weather." He said

Rainbow Blitz: "Yeah, yeah, that'll be a snap. I'll do it in a jiffy. Just as soon as I'm done practicing." He said as Y/n squealed lightly.

Dusk Shine: "Practicing for what?

Rainbow Blitz: "The Wonderbolts! They're gonna perform at the Celebration tomorrow, and I'm gonna show 'em my stuff!" He shouted out with pride while the princess beside him rolled her eyes a bit at his enlarged ego.

Dusk Shine: "The Wonderbolts?"

Rainbow Blitz: "Yep!"

Dusk Shine: "The most talented flyers in all of Equestria?"

Rainbow Blitz: "That's them!"

Dusk Shine: "Pfft! Please. They'd never accept a Pegasus who can't even keep the sky clear for one measly day." He said with a scoff as Y/n flew down to smack him on the head

Rainbow Blitz: "Hey, I could clear this sky in ten seconds flat."

Dusk Shine: "Prove it." He said provoking the rainbow maned stallion as Y/n brought out a stop watch.

Y/n: "I'll time it this time, Blitz. Show Dusk Shine wrong." She announced while Rainbow Blitz took off into the air like a flash of lightning making sounds of exertion

Rainbow Blitz: "Loop-de-loop around, and wham! What'd I say? Ten. Seconds. Flat. I'd never leave Ponyville hanging." He said while in the distance a sheep baas out and he started chuckling at Dusk's and Barbara's dropped jaws.

Y/n: "That was actually 9.5 seconds, Blitz! That was amazing!" She cheered out excitedly than looked over at her friends seeing their slacked jaws and she started snickering a bit.

Rainbow Blitz: "You two should see the look on your face. Ha! You're a laugh, Dusk Shine. I can't wait to hang out some more. Any friends of Y/n's are mine as well" He said before looking over at Y/n. "Still on for our early morning fly tomorrow, doll?" He asked while Y/n gave him a nod with a smile before he took off to the skies.

Barbara: "Wow, he's amazing!" She squealed out then begins to laugh at Dusk's puffed up mane and tail which made him growl at her before he trotted off as Barbara climbed up onto Y/n's back as the girls went after him. "Wait! It's kinda pretty once you get used to it!" She said while the trio walked towards town hall.

Y/n: "Next is decorations in town hall, by my fashionable friend, Elusive." She said before checking off the decorating part of the list while Barbara spoke up from her back.

Barbara: "Decorations. Whoa, Amazing..." She said with tiny hearts in her eyes as Y/n looked over at Barbara before she giggled a bit.

Dusk Shine: "Yes, the décor is coming along nicely. This ought'a be quick. I'll be at the library in no time. Amazing indeed." He said while Y/n nudged him to see that Barbara was lovestruck.

Barbara: "Not the décor, him!" She said pointing at a pristine white gray coated unicorn stallion with ombre amethyst purple curled mane and tail, alongside with his cutie mark of three flawless four pointed light blue diamonds.

Elusive: "No, no, no, oh! Goodness no." He said in a posh french accent while he was looking through various shades of ribbons for decorating the town hall curtains.

Barbara: "How are my scales? Are they cleaned?" She asked while Y/n patted her head softly with a giggle.

Dusk Shine: "Good afternoon-" He said while the trio walked towards the unicorn stallion.

Elusive: "Just a moment, please! I'm 'in the zone', as it were. Oh, yes! Sheen always does the trick, does it not? Why, Elusive, you are a talent." He said with a soft smile before turning around to address whom was talking to him. "Now, um, how can I help yo-" He spoke up only to yelp out in pure horror. "Oh goodness gracious, my good sir! Whatever happened to your coiffure?!" He shouted out disaster at what his eyes were shown.

Dusk Shine: "Oh, you mean my mane? Well, it's a long story." He said til Y/n interrupted him.

Y/n: "Good morning, Elusive." She said before messing with Dusk's poofy mane. "As for this it was classic Rainbow Blitz slam landing again." She said before whispering in the fashion designer's ear. "Rain-blow dry to the extreme." She whispered softly til Dusk Shine pulled her back towards him with his magic.

Dusk Shine: "I'm just here to check on the decorations with the princess, and then We'll be out of your hair!" He said with a smile

Elusive: "Oh, That gruff of a stallion, I swear Blitz is more bull than stallion at times" He said with a groan before looking directly at Dusk Shine. "Out of my hair? What about your hair?!" He shouted out as he began pushing Dusk Shine out of town hall.

Dusk Shine: "Wait! Where are we going?! Help me out here, Y/n!" He shouted out as Y/n walked beside Elusive smiling.

Y/n: "It's going to be alright, Duskie. Elusive is taking us to his shop, Carousel Boutique and no doubt he's gonna fix your mane back to it's lovely form." She said with a smile not noticing Dusk's cheeks flush a bit.

Now at the boutique, Elusive worked his magic at Dusk's mane and tail then began putting the stallion in different varieties of suits and vests as well Y/n modeling different types of dresses for tonight.

Elusive: "Oh, mon beau coeur fleuri,, you look simply ravishing as always." He complimented making the alicorn mare cheeks bloom in color.

Y/n: "Elusive, you charming gentlecolt." She said while walking near Dusk to show Barbara the newest dress so the baby dragon could help her pick one for later tonight. Y/n pushed her m/n mane over an ear making both unicorn stallions blush as they looked at her beauty.

Elusive: "No, no, uh-uh. Too green. Too yellow. Too poofy. Oh, I don't like that. Oh, disgusting, No. Now go on, Monsieur. You were telling me where you're from." He said while he began tightening the cravat tie around the other unicorns neck as Dusk was now wearing a elegant deep blue suit coat.

Dusk Shine: He began wincing in pain. "I've... been sent... from Canterlot... to-" He started saying while he was struggling to breathe until Elusive let go of the tie in disbelief.

Elusive: "Huh? Canterlot?!" He shouted out in pure joy. "Oh, I am so jealous! The class, the sophistication!" He said towards Dusk Shine smiling.
"I have always dreamed of living there! I can't wait to hear all about it!" We are gonna be the best of friends, you and I... Emeralds?! What was I thinking? Let me get you some rubies!" He said before taking the dress the princess picked and elegantly placed in a box and a bag for her to keep it clean.

Dusk Shine: "Quick! Before he decides to dye my coat a new color!" He said while Y/n took the bag with her f/c magic as Dusk pulled her and Barbara out of the boutique in a hurry.

Barbara: "Wasn't he wonderful?" She said before sighing smitten like a kitten making Y/n giggle as they trotted through the park.

Dusk Shine: "Focus, Juliet. What's next on the list?" He said breaking Barbara out of her haze and she looked at the list again

Barbara: She clears throat. "Oh, uh, music! It's the last one!" She said as distant birdsong fanfare hit hers, Dusk's and Y/n's ears.

The trio well except for Y/n, looked at whom was creating the music in the park. To see a pale yellow pegasus stallion with deep and light evergreen eyes which went his pale pink mane as well tail, the stallion's cutie mark: three cyan blue butterflies with light pink wings.

Y/n: "Okay, Duskie, and Barbara that's another of my friends but we've got to careful how we walk up to him." She whispered softly enough for the two to hear. "He's very timid especially around new ponies but he absolutely-" She stopped talking when she saw Dusk Shine trotting off towards Butterscotch. "Oh, dear Solaris, well he'll find out one way I guess." She said while picking up Barbara and putting her onto her back then trotted over quitely.

Butterscotch: "Oh my. Um, stop please, everyone, umm. Excuse me, sir?" He said politely as the bird nodded before he went back to direct the bird choir. "I mean no offense, but your rhythm is just a teeny-tiny bit off. Now, follow me, please. A-one, a-two, a-one two three-"

Dusk Shine: "Hello!" He shouted out loudly which caused the birds to scatter off into the sky as Butterscotchet out a startled yelp before turned around to see Dusk Shine. "Oh my, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to frighten your birds. I'm just here to check up on the music and it's sounding beautiful." He complimented then cleared his throat a bit. "I'm Dusk Shine." He introduced himself then paused before asking the pegasus stallion in front of him. "What's your name?"

Butterscotch: He spoke up very quietly. "Um... I'm Butterscotch."

Dusk Shine: "I'm sorry, what was that?" He questioned with a now forced smile on his muzzle.

Butterscotch: He spoke even quieter now. "Um... My name is Butterscotch."

Dusk Shine: "Didn't quite catch that."

Butterscotch: He let out an uncomfortable squeaking sound as his birds returned to their posts on the tree from before the scare.

Dusk Shine: "Well, um, it looks like your birds are back, so I guess everything's in order. Keep up the good work!"

Butterscotch: He just kept on squeaking as his waved bang covered one of his eyes.

Dusk Shine: "Oookay." He said while he looked over at Y/n whom was just smiling towards him before he turned around to face Barbara and Y/n. "Well, that was easy."

Y/n: "Oh, just wait a second, Duskie." She said while looking over at Butterscotch with a kind smile. "Good morning, Butterscotch. Sorry, for my fillyhood friend for scaring you." She said before fixing his mane with her f/c magic then pointed her fore hoof towards her back to reveal Barbara to Butterscotch.

Butterscotch: He let out a deep gasp as his eyes widened in pure wonder then shouted out. "A baby dragon!" He flew over so quickly that he accidentally knocked Dusk Shine onto the ground. "Oh, I've never seen a baby dragon before. She's sooo cute!"

Barbara: "Well, I like this guy, Y/n!" She said while Y/n laughed as she helped Dusk Shine back up onto his hooves.

Butterscotch: "Oh my, she talks. I didn't know dragons could talk. That's just so incredibly wonderful I, I just don't even know what to say!" He said giddily and flying up delicately into the air before Dusk Shine spoke up.

Dusk Shine: "Well, in that case we'd better be going."

Butterscotch: "Wait, wait! What's her name?"

Barbara: "I'm Barbara or Barb."

Butterscotch: "Hi Barbara, I'm Butterscotch. Wow, a talking dragon! And what do dragons talk about?"

Barbara: "Well, what do you wanna know?"

Butterscotch: "Absolutely everything." He said excitedly as Dusk Shine groaned out.

Y/n: "Dusk Shine..." She said quietly as the unicorn stallion looked over at her. "Be nice, I was trying to tell you earlier that Butterscotch absolutely adores animals especially legendary ones." She said while trotting beside him. "Butterscotch's personality does a complete one eighty, when he sees a creature that he's never encountered before but it's so adorable." She said while remembering how he reacted to her orthros dog with a laugh.

Barbara: "Well... I started out as a cute little purple and light purple egg..." She began talking to Butterscotch as the four were now trotting towards the golden oak library in Ponyville. "...And that's the story of my whole entire life! Well, up until today. Do you wanna hear about today?"

Butterscotch: "Oh, yes, please!" He shouted with glee until Barbara squealed out.

Barbara: "Gyah!"

Dusk Shine: He turned around to talk to Butterscotch with a forced smile now in front of the golden oak library. "I am so sorry, how did we get here so fast? This is where I'm staying while in Ponyville and my poor baby dragon needs her sleep." He said well lied.

Barbara: "No I don't- Aaaahhh!" She started to say until Dusk sneakily pushed Barbara off of Y/n's back.

Y/n: "Oh no, Barb are you okay, sweetie?" She asked while seeing the baby dragon's eyes were swirling around a bit.

Dusk Shine: "Aww, wook at dat, she's so sweepy she can't even keep her widdle bawance!" He said in baby talk while Y/n and Barbara glared firmly at him now getting what he was trying to do.

Butterscotch: "Poor thing, you simply must get into bed..." He said as he flew over picking up Barbara than cradling her gently in his hooves before flying into the library.

Dusk Shine: He quickly took Barbara away with his magic while pulling Y/n inside by her hoof. "Yes, yes, we'll get right on that. Well, g'night!" He said before slamming the door of the library shut thus leaving the three in pitch black darkness.

Barbara: "Huh. Rude much?" She questioned sarcastically while Y/n glared at Dusk Shine in disappointment.

Y/n: "Dusk Shine, you shouldn't be so rude to my friends especially Butterscotch." She said seriously before sighing softly as she walked over towards Dusk. "Duskie, what's going on with you today? You've been trying to rush here all day when this was supposed to be a nice tour around Ponyville and for us to catch up as well."

Dusk Shine: "Sorry, Barbara, and Y/n but I have to convince the Prince that Darkhorse Knight is coming, and we're running out of time!" He shouted out as Y/n's e/c eyes widened a bit at the name of the Stallion in the Moon legend but thankfully it was too dark for the unicorn to notice. "I just need to be alone so I can study without a bunch of crazy ponies trying to make friends all the time. Now, where's the light?" He questioned only for the light flick on and horns went off around the trio.

Ponies: "Surprise!" They all shouted out and blew onto kazoos while Dusk Shine groaned unhappily as the music warps down a bit.

Bubble Berry: "Surprise!" He shouted out as party whistles blow out around him. "Hi, I'm Bubble Berry, and I threw this party just for you! Were you surprised? Were ya? Were ya? Huh huh huh?" He asked jumping around Dusk Shine, Barbara, and Y/n excitedly.

Dusk Shine: "Very surprised. Libraries are supposed to be quiet." He said sarcastically and now annoyed as Bubble Berry tackle hugged Y/n onto the floor.

Y/n: "Hiya, Bubble." She said while hugging him back before Bubble Berry helped her back onto her hooves than the hyperactive stallion went to talk to Dusk Shine again.

Bubble Berry: "Well, that's silly! What kind of welcome party would this be if it were quiet? I mean, duh, bo-ring! Y'see, I saw you when you first got here, remember? You were all "hello" and I was all [deep gasp], remember? Y'see I've never saw you before and if I've never saw you before that means you're new, 'cause I know everypony, and I mean everypony in Ponyville!" He spoke rapidly while Dusk Shine groans filling up a cup with what appeared to be soda. "And if you're new, that meant you haven't met anyone yet, and if you haven't met anyone yet, you must not have any friends, and if you don't have any friends then you must be lonely, and that made me so sad, then I had an idea, and that's why I went." He said before taking a deep gasp of air. "I must throw a great big ginormous super-duper spectacular welcome party and invite everyone in Ponyville just like I did for N/n!" He said while Applejack, Elusive, Butterscotch, Rainbow Blitz, and Y/n showned up behind Bubble Berry smiling together. "See? And now you have lots and lots of friends!" He said while Dusk was about to take a drink from his cup, Y/n stopped him from doing so.

Dusk Shine: "Y/n, what are you?" He asked before Y/n held up the bottle that he poured into the cup seeing it was actually hot sauce not juice, cider, or soda. "Oh, thanks."

Y/n: "That's okay, Duskie." She said while placing the hot sauce near the cupcakes before giving Dusk Shine a cupcake with a smile until Dusk Shine sighed softly and trotted off, leaving her behind with the boys and Barbara.

Applejack: "Are you all right, sugarcube?" He asked seeing that Y/n had a sad look in her eyes as Butterscotch hugged her with a wing.

Y/n: "Yeah, I'm okay guys, really. I just wish Dusk Shine would be himself, not the way he acted today when meeting all of you." She said truthfully while the colts gave her a group hug then went to get a cupcake.

Bubble Berry: "Ooh..." He said as he eats a hot sauce covered cupcake with his friends looking at him with a 'really' face as he spoke up with his mouth full. "What? It's good!" He said smiling while making his friends laugh as muffled disco music and the clock ticking in the loft of library as Dusk Shine groaned on the bed trying to sleep but couldn't with the party going on, then the door opens up and the music gets louder to show Barbara wearing a lamp shade beside Y/n with tiny hearts painted delicately onto her speckled wings.

Barbara: "Hey Dusk! Bubble Berry's starting "pin the tail on the pony"! Wanna play?"

Dusk Shine: "No! All the ponies in this town are crazy! Do you know what time it is?!" He shouted out angrily while pointing towards the cuckoo clock on the wall.

Barbara: "It's the eve of the Summer Sun Celebration. Everypony has to stay up, or they'll miss the Prince raise the sun! You really should lighten up, Dusk. It's a party!" She said before leaving Dusk Shine alone at least she thought.

Dusk Shine: Mockingly imitates Barbara as the door closes blocking out the music a bit before he got out of bed grumbling. "Ugh, here I thought I'd have time to learn about the Elements of Harmony but, silly me, all this ridiculous friend-making has kept me from it!" He shouted out before looking up at the night sky seeing the stars move around the moon. "Legend has it that on the longest day of the thousandth year, the stars will aid in his escape, and he will bring about everlasting night." I hope the Prince was right... I hope it really is just an old pony tale..." He hoped only to flinch when a hoof rested on his shoulder than turned his head to the right to see Y/n beside him looking up at the moon.

Y/n: "Honesty, Kindness, Loyalty, Generosity, Laughter, and Love." She said while putting her hoof back next to her other one before she looked over at Dusk Shine, who looked at her confused. "You'll understand where the Elements are, Dusk Shine just look within yourself and you'll find out that the Elements are closer than you believe." She said truthfully while placing her head onto his shoulder and smiled softly when she felt Dusk Shine lie his head onto her mane for comfort. "You're my best friend, Duskie." She whispered as the bedroom door behind the loft opened back up again to reveal Barbara.

Barbara: "C'mon, Dusk, and Y/n it's time to watch the sunrise!" She said while Y/n teleported away with her dress for the event.

Back at Ponyville's Town Hall at Night

Bubble Berry: "Isn't this exciting? Are you excited, 'cause I'm excited, I've never been so excited- well, except for the time that I saw you walking into town and I went..." He spoke rapidly before taking a deep gasp of air than talked again. "But I mean really, who can top that?" He questioned as the bird choir chirped out fanfare to introduce the Mayor to the crowd.

Mayor Mare: "Fillies and gentlecolts, as mayor of Ponyville, it is my great pleasure to announce the beginning of the Summer Sun Celebration!" She announced happily as ponies began cheering out. Dusk Shine looked out towards the window to see the four stars went towards the moon and then the stallion image on the moon vanished. "In just a few moments, our town will witness the magic of the sunrise, and celebrate this, the longest day of the year! And now, it is my great honor to introduce to you the ruler of our land and his ward, the very pony who gives us the sun and the moon each and every day, the good, the wise, the bringer of harmony to all of Equestria and the beloved pony whom spreads love wherever she goes to whomever she meets..."

Butterscotch: "Ready?" He asked his bird choir whom nodded and prepared to chirp the fanfare for the royalty.

Mayor Mare: "...Prince Solaris & Princess Y/n!" She announced with pride as Elusive pulled back the balcony curtains with his magic for all to see the area where the two royals should have been standing were missing.

Elusive: "Huh?" He said with a gasp while ponies chattering quietly and nervously in the background, he went behind the curtains to look for the royal pair.

Dusk Shine: "This can't be good." He said now worried about the Prince and his best friend, Princess Y/n.

Mayor Mare: "Remain calm, everypony, there must be a reasonable explanation!" She said to calm down the chattering crowd.

Bubble Berry: "Ooh, ooh, I love guessing games! Are they hiding? Y/n loves hide and seek!" He squealed out happily beside Dusk Shine

Elusive: "They're gone!" He announced as ponies gasped out in shock.

Bubble Berry: "Ooh, they're good." He said before he yelped with ponies gasping as a dark purplish blue vapor surrounded the balcony than materialized into a large armored stallion with black as night coat laughing out.

Dusk Shine: "Oh no... Darkhorse Knight!" He whisper shouted as Barbara fainted onto his back with a shock filled gasp.

Darkhorse Knight: "Oh, my beloved subjects. It's been so long since I've seen your precious little sun-loving faces." He spoke up in a deep regal tone of voice as his dark magenta serpent looking eyes scanned the crowd as many ponies looked up at him in fear.

Rainbow Blitz: "What did you do with our Prince and Princess?!" He shouted out angrily and flew up in the air to fight off this mysterious stallion only to wince slightly as Applejack bit down onto his tail.

Applejack: "Whoa there, Bucko..." His words were muffled by holding Rainbow Blitz back with his tail clenched in his teeth.

Darkhorse Knight: He chuckled at the rainbow stallion's spirit. "Why, am I not royal enough for you? Don't you know who I am?" He questioned before humming softly.

Bubble Berry: "Ooh, ooh, more guessing games! Um, Hokey Smokes! How about... King Meanie! No! Black Snooty, Black Snooty-" He kept listing off names til Applejack silenced him with a apple cupcake leaving only muffled noises coming from his muzzle.

Darkhorse Knight: "Does my crown no longer count now that I have been imprisoned for a thousand years?" He questioned faking a hurt tone of voice as he looked over at Butterscotch whom flinched away from him. "Did you not recall the legend? Did you not see the signs?" He asked while moving towards Elusive as he used his vaporlike mane end to flick the unicorn stallion's muzzle upwards with a sinister smirk before a voice from within the crowd spoke up thus getting his attention.

Dusk Shine: "I did. And I know who you are. You're the Stallion in the Moon- Darkhorse Knight!" He announced as all the ponies gasp out through the hall.

Darkhorse Knight: "Well well well, somepony who remembers me. Then you also know why I'm here." He questioned with a malicious grin full of fangs.

Dusk Shine: "You're here to... to..." He cut himself with a fearful gulp.

Darkhorse Knight: He let out a deep chuckle. "Remember this day, little ponies, for it was your last. From this moment forth, the night will last forever!" He said maliciously before laughing out as thunder roared behind him. "And as for the mare you all in search of." He said while a dark blue magical aura summoned forth somepony that Dusk Shine, Barbara Applejack, Elusive, Butterscotch, Bubble Berry and Rainbow Blitz knew well.

Mane 6 & Barbara: "Princess Y/n!!" They shouted out in horror seeing the alicorn mare was unconscious in her sun celebration dress while Darkhorse Knight laughed at the group of stallions reactions alongside the dragon pet.

Darkhorse Knight: "Such a lovely mare isn't she, especially for a lone alicorn princess. She'll be a fitting Queen of the Night to rule by my side." He said as the mare hummed slowly waking up and began opening up her e/c eyes.

Y/n: "Ow, My head....what's going-" She started saying til she realized the situation that she was in before sighing heavily as she looked over at the readers. "Really, the damsel in distress part?" She said sarcastically towards the readers just before the screen when black. "Well til next time, everypony."

Phew!! Part one is Finally done after five days of work and 8,838 words typed up but enjoy my fellow bronies and pegasisters!!
