“CORRECT. KINLEY has been found GUILTY. Commencing execution.” Laughing insanely, Theca pressed a key on her computer and both her and Kinley disappeared.

Kinley stood in a marble room with two ornate gold-and-black doors, and two uniformed guards guarding the doors. Theca’s voice rang around the walls.

“One of these doors holds a possible savior. One holds me, or death. One of the guards only tells lies. One only tells the truth. You are only to ask one question or your death will come no matter what. Ask away, and make your choice.”

Kinley stared blankly at the two doors.

Seconds passed.

Minutes.

Until Kinley walked over to a guard and asked him the question.

“What would the other guard say the door with the savior is in?” The guard pointed to the one on the right. Kinley went left. The door swung open.

A dragon leapt out.

This was a sun dragon, glittering gold and blazing heat. It was about the same size as Kinley but looked much more powerful. It roared and blasted a column of heat into the air. The two guards shimmered and disappeared, as if they were mirages. Kinley held fear in his eyes, but blinked it away. He walked up to the dragon and made a few clicking and whirring noises. The other dragon made some more, where Kinley reared back at. Apparently that was a curse in dragon language. Then the other dragon leapt.

Kinley automatically blasted it with a jet of water, though it only seemed to weaken the dragon. It blew more fire and Kinley rolled to the side, burning his tail. He blew another jet of high-pressurized water at the dragon, and it roared in defiance. While it was blowing fire, Kinley jumped on its back and prepared to bite its neck, when it rolled over and crushed Kinley. It disappeared like the guards had and the room also changed to a simple metal structure. Theca laughed.

“Silly boy. I said ‘possible savior.’”

Everyone just stared in shock at Kinley’s crushed and broken body.
