MADe for each other
Daniel and Joan loved each other. They would do anything for each other. They were that close. So close, that they'd both be attending the same wedding, both playing a very key and important role in the event. In fact, without either or both of them, the wedding and their love would never have existed.
They both knew each other. They both knew the feeling was mutual. They both knew it was time to settle everything, once and for all.
Daniel was an affable man, black hair that curled, brown eyes, served in the Navy as an admiral with a ship of fresh seaman recruits, and was the strong and silent type. He didn't talk much, except about the Navy and his escapades. He was easy to open up to Joan, who would gladly listen to his stories of the open sea that fascinated her.
Daniel then retired from the Navy after fifteen years of service, starting at eighteen. He was medically discharged for poor hearing, but it doesn't seem to bother him much or even be noticed by others in fact. He then, after receiving high praise, began a more rural life, starting up a small business. He has owned his business for two years as now, and his business seems to be going strong.
The man is highly skilled, in both physical strength and intellect. He can bench press three times his own weight. He can take anyone on in a game of chess. Plus, as Navy perks, he knew semaphore code as well as signal flags. He was warm and fierce, like a spicy stew, with many different flavors and a kick at the end.
Joan, who was more outgoing and extroverted than her true love, grew up a bit more lavishly than Daniel. She was upper class, her father a wealthy business owner and her mother a talented stock broker. But, as all things good go, her father's business has slowly dwindled and her mother's luck was starting to run out. At twenty, she broke away from her family's business to join the (you guessed it) Navy. In fact, it was during an inspection that Daniel and Joan had met for the first time, each not knowing they would fall for each other.
Joan was a beautiful young woman at thirty-two: black straight hair pulled back in a bun or braided. She had a cute face and nose, smiling as often as possible. She blushed more often than usual, was outgoing, yet easily embarrassed. She loved to talk and listen to Daniel's many escapades: once he married a couple at sea as an admiral, another time he spotted a man overboard with no light in the dead of night. She admired the admiral, and so their fates entwined like the roots of a plant and the earth below, each benefiting from each other's existence.
But, unfortunately for the two whom were madly in love, they hadn't seen each other in over a day. Both, of course, were preparing for the wedding reception.
Daniel was in a black tuxedo, his hair to the side of his head, parted in the middle. A carnation was on his left breast pocket in front of a white handkerchief. He took a deep breath as he stared into himself in the mirror. He sighed, then resumed the very tedious perfection of straightening his black bow tie. He knew that this day, January 20th, was going to be a very emotional day for both himself and for his lover Joan.
Joan had her hair up and braided as she was in her white dress. She carried a bouquet of various flowers as her maid of honor adjusted various places on the back lower area of her dress. She smiled slightly as she stared into the great mirror, seeing herself in her stunning and diving beauty.
"Joan, today's the day." the maid of honor said. Joan took a deep breath, and sighed in forced contempt and happiness. Today was her day. No one could ruin this any more for her.
"Yes, Anna. I still can't believe I made it this far. And that he would be such a prominent role in the ceremony." Joan answered. Anna chuckled to herself as she adjusted a part of Joan's hem on her dress.
"You mean Daniel, right? Yes, I must agree I'm surprised as well." Anna said. Joan clicked her two heels together as she smiled slightly and held her flowers. Her white, elbow length gloves protected her direct touch, but she knew that they were the best her future husband could get. He looked at her right hand, the third finger from the left bare but ready to be connected for all eternity.
"It's time, Joan." Anna said. Joan stared at the mirror and then closed her eyes and nodded. She then slowly walked towards the door, keeping her head down and slowly walked towards the door, keeping her head down pointed towards the ground. She saw the elegant violet carpet beneath her feet, but couldn't feel it with her heels on. She looked up and saw a stained glass window on a wooden door blocking her way from the hall. Anna opened the door as she looked up. The flower girl, Joan's sister, led her way three yards towards her final destination. She shed one single tear as she made her way up one, two, three steps. Her husband-to-be and the justice of the peace stood before her. Daniel was up there, smiling at her stunning beauty, as she faced her future husband.
"Does the groom take the bride to be his wife? Does he promise to be true to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, to love her and honor her all the days of his life?" the justice of the peace asks.
"I do." the groom states, smiling.

"My wife, take this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity. In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit." the groom states.

"What God has joined, men must not divide. And, you may now kiss the bride." Daniel states.
