Third person POV:

Sonic's body hit into the wall with a loud thud. He groaned loudly as he held his side, forcing himself to stand up with weak knees. Sonic fell to one knee, grunting and rotating his one out of whack shoulder.

"What's the stich with Metal!?" The blue hedgehog called out. A small fox flew into sight, his twin tails spinning like a helicopter as he held a gadget in his hand. "Knuckles, Amy, and Rouge are handling him for the time being!" Tails said with a bit of destress, "I don't know how long they can last though!"

A small growl escaped the blue blur's mouth as his ears twitched in pain, his knees still weak from the impact Metal sent him to. "For Chaos' sake- WHERE IS SHADOW WHEN WE NEED HIM!?" He roared in anger. 

You peaked out from behind an alley wall where you hid. The commotion Metal Sonic was causing was giving you a good enough cover to not be spotted, the doctor's plan was still a mystery to you though. Your cold E/C eye locking onto Sonic as you remained hidden, quickly scanning your target.

Sonic T. Hedgehog

Threat level: High

Your eyes widened slightly at the hedgehog and your head tilted as he stood up, even though your scanners indicated he was in pain. "Resilient." You said quietly to yourself. Sonic's eyes went over to the flying fox and so did yours.

Miles "Tails" Prowler

Threat level: None

"Pathetic." You said while rolling your eyes and blasting your way up to the rooftops. A battle went on down on the streets but you payed minimal intention, your gaze focused on your target and his movements, along with his small foxy friend. You landed on the roof with a small clank noise before slowly walking and observing the hedgehog's nature.

The sound of your feet against the roof was quiet but recognizable, metal had a very familiar noise whenever it hit the ground and you were unfortunately no exception... You were distracted. You're first mistake. 

You felt a kick hit your back and you fell to the ground and landed on your elbow. You're robotic body hit the ground with a thud and you grunted slightly, turning onto your back as a shadowy figure stood above you.

The black hedgehog has red stripes along with quills and arms, his shoes had rockets on the soles similar to yours and his gloves were a strange array of colors. The hedgehog adjusted his cuff as he stepped closer to you, his cold eyes locking onto yours with a chilling glare. It had no affect on you though.

"I FOUND ONE ON THE ROOFS!!" The hedgehog shouted to the ones below, quickly catching their attention and stopping the battle for a mere moment. Sonic looked up at Shadow with a disapproving look on his face as Metal Sonic had him pinned to the wall by his neck. "Now you show up!?" Rouge said to Shadow, a small glare planted on her face as she raised and eyebrow.

Shadow scoffed under his breath. "At least I know how to get a job done." The ebony hedgehog mumbled before looking back down at you, like he was about to turn you to scrap like the doctor always threatened to do if you failed. A growl escaped through his mouth and you quickly scanned his body when a bright notification flashed.

"Oh crud." You said as your eyes widened and dodged out of the way of one of the hedgehog's punches. Shadow growled, pulling his fist out of the ground he just put a dent in. You glared slightly as his gaze got more menacing and initiated.

You quickly dodged out of the way of another attack, this time landing on your hands and knees instead of your back. "Guess it chose flight." You mumbled to yourself sarcastically before getting up and running. Shadow panted lightly as you jumped up to a higher spot, using your rocket boots for assistance, if they weren't even considered boots at this point.

A green light shined behind you, catching you off guard before Shadow appeared and tried to kick you in the face. You ducked and swiftly moved away, your body moving itself for you it seemed. Your fists raised in front of your face and you rolled your eyes once more.

"How is this flight!?" You spoke before the hedgehog tried attacking again. You dodged one of his punches but got hit by the next and were slammed in the wall.

Shadow's breath got slightly heavier. "ANY ONE CARE TO HELP!?" He yelled rhetorically to the mobains on the ground. "Oh, yeah, I'm just chilling out." Sonic said with a smug expression while pinning pinned to the wall and chocked by Metal. The black hedgehog scoffed and rolled his eyes. 

Tails looked up at you as you slowly stood up, his blue eyes filled with compassion and concern. "M-maybe we don't have to fight them!!" He studdered nervously, his voice pleading out towards Shadow. The striped hedgehog turned to the fox with a soul piercing glare as he snapped, "It's an Eggman bot!"

"That doesn't mean they're necessarily evil!" The twin tailed fox snapped back, ears twitching to the side as he protested. Was he... standing up for you? Your eyes widened in realization, you didn't have long to process anything though before Shadow teleported next to you once more.

You dodged a devastating punch and zoomed a few feet away, standing in pure shock. The hedgehog appeared in the air behind you and sent a kick down your back. You fell to your knee before the hedgehog began an onslaught of attacks.

A piece of metal fell from your leg and you stood at the edge of the building. Your sights glitched, bright flashing red lights blocking out you vision as the rest was blurry. Within moments your system began powering down. You took a step back unconsciously, trying to regain balance. Everything slowly went back, and you could feel yourself fall.
