As they are shocked and disgusted to see Roman Torchwick, a most wanted man in Remnant and the one who helped the white fang for an operation, is here in the GDI base. Roman said to them as he waves his hand.

Roman: Hello kids and teacher, it seems like we have to work together.

Without saying a word, Team RWBY drew their weapons and pointed at him. Oobleck didn't draw his weapon as he stayed neutral. Neo grabbed her umbrella as she's ready to fight. Roman raised both of his hands to the air as he tried to reason with them.

Roman: Whoa, whoa, whoa... No need for violence. I'm turning a new leaf.

Blake: You! How did you get here? I thought they were putting you in prison when they captured you.

Roman: Oh you see, kitty, after they capture me, they interrogate me, and then your friend gives me the offer to redeem myself.

Weiss: Redeem yourself? Why would Jaune allow it?

Roman: Because he's willing to pay me a lot more than my employer. At first, that Robert guy tries to threaten me but Jaune tells him to stop. He recruits me as a spy to know about enemy information.

Yang: Huh?

Oobleck: What information are you talking about?

Roman: Like, my employer was going to the tower at night while everyone was distracted by the party. She's an attempt to put a virus into a console but I told Jaune to know about her plan.

Ruby: Ohh... No wonder Jaune and his men were there.

Roman: Yep. Now please, would you lower your weapons. We're on the same side now.

He said. They still don't trust him as they still pointed their weapons at him. Oobleck said to them.

Oobleck: Students, stand down.

Ruby: B-But...

Oobleck: If what he's said is true then we have to trust Jaune. He's the one who decides to let this man become one of them.

He said. They lowered their weapons. Roman was a sigh of relief as he put his both hands down. Neo, lower her umbrella that it's over. Then, he said to them,

Roman: Now since we're cool, let me introduce her. Her name is Neapolitan but you can call her Neo for short.

She waves at them again with her smile.

Roman: I see that he gave you this mission, am I right?

Oobleck: Yes. He did.

Roman: Then let's go.

He said as they both went to V-35 ox. Ruby and her friends can't believe they have to work with Torchwick and Neo as a part of the team. They wanted to beat him up as he was a criminal and part of white fang operation but they had no choice but to go with them. They enter an aircraft and it goes to the mountain Glenn.

Inside the V-35 ox, Team RWBY still doesn't trust both of them as they think he has a plan in his sleeve. Riflemen squads, missile squads & zone enforcers were checking their weapons before they will deploy to the ground. Oobleck is often quiet when he's in the ox transport. He would like to explain his students but since he's joined alongside with GDI military he just doesn't want to explain all of them since they have read the details about Remnant when they got here. While they're waiting to reach there, Roman would like to say to Team RWBY and Oobleck.

Roman: So... Before we were deployed into the city ruins, let's talk about it. So little red, maybe it's time to put out our differences. Hmm?

Ruby: Well, you rob at the dust store and attack my friend.

Blake: Let's not forget that you're working with the white fangs.

Roman: Not anymore, kitty. Sure, I tried to kill you at first. But now, it's time for me to make a fresh start by helping you guys.

Weiss: And then, you and your henchmen will backstab us soon afterward?

Roman: Nope. I- I mean, we made our promise to Jaune that we will never betray the GDI. So, you can trust me from now on.

Neo makes across a heart to them that they're telling a truth.

Yang: Hmph. I doubt it. But it seems we have no other choice then.

She said, She looked at Neo as she held her Smartscroll and the words said to her.

Neo: ' I'm sure we will make a good team, Yang.'

Yang turns her head around to never respond to her.

...

The Nod forces are gathered all of the bombs and place it into each train car.

Shizaku is on the train to sharpen his katana blade to make it sharper. Then, a militant soldier came to him and said.

Nod militant: Sir! They arrive.

He responded by sharpening his katana blade and went outside of the train.

As he gets out of the train, 3 of the reckoners appear from the underground as they rise up. They stopped the engines to send out troops. 3 of Confessor Cabals, 10 Devouts, and 4 more militant squads went out of each reckoner as they went towards the Shizaku group. One of the confessor cabals is a leader known as Grand Confessor. A grand confessor is different from other confessors. He wears a black hand helmet ( C&C 3) to show fear to the enemy. His primary weapon of choice is a gatling gun and a secondary weapon is a chainsaw sword for close combat.

( Varkham secondary weapon)

He approaches him and he says as he bows down to him.

???: Executor Shizaku, it's nice to meet you.

Shizaku: And so do I. Can I have your name, Grand confessor?

???: Indeed. I am Abraham Varkhom. But called me Varkhom. It is good to serve with you.

He nodded at him.

Shizaku: Grand confessor Varkhom, I need your men to secure this place if we face these dark creatures.

Varkhom: The Grimms?

Shizaku: Yes. Your confessors need to guard the train if someone is lucky enough to sneak past our men. We cannot let anyone jeopardize this mission.

Varkhom: We will not fail you, Executor Shizaku. Men! Secure this place.

They responded as they went to their positions. He continues to speak to the executor.

Varkhom: Now, since we're here. Prophet Gideon wanted this train to move, create a hole for the Grimms and terrorize the city once it's hit on the surface.

Shizaku: I don't know why we do the same thing as these white fangs.

Varkhom: To think it's the white fang that causes the breach. Once the entire army of Atlas came to protect Vale and everyone was distracted during the tournament. We will launch an attack.

Shizaku: Hmm... Thank you for telling me this, Grand confessor. I'll be on the train if you want to see me.

Varkhom: I will, executor.

He said. Shizaku heads back inside the train to check if it's already prepared while Varkhom goes to check if everything is ready to start the operation.

...

They reach the mountain Glenn where all buildings were ruined for years. The road is scattered with debris everywhere. Two Ox transports came to land it as everyone was getting out of the aircraft and then, the ox transports went back to base.

Team RWBY, Oobleck, Roman, Neo & GDI forces are ready for action. Roman check to see riflemen squads, missile squads, zone enforcers, grenadier squads & zone troopers. As he finishes checking the selected infantry, Oobleck would like to say to everyone.

Oobleck: Okay everyone, we're in the mountain Glenn. The ruins of the city. We should be Grimms around here so we must keep an eye out.

Roman: Yes, yes, yes. We know that.

He clears his throat as he turns around and he said to them.

Roman: We have our mission here. By eradicating all of the Grimms so we can establish the base here. If you see one, kill it. They might see you and kill you if you standstill.

GDI soldiers: Yes sir!

Roman: Good. Now, we must split the group-

Oobleck: Wait! I see a Grimm over there.

He said as he pointed his finger at a beowolf that came to appear out of nowhere. Everyone except Oobleck ready their weapons to attack the Grimm. But he said to them,

Oobleck: Wait, everyone. There are reasons why Grimms would congregate in this particular area.

GDI rifleman: So?

Oobleck: The Grimms can attract negative emotions. Sadness, envy, loneliness, hatred, all qualities.

Roman: Any kind of negative emotion will attack us. We get it.

Ruby: So what now?

Oobleck: We have to wait. If that Grimm is scouting, there might be a pack of beowolves somewhere nearby.

Neo held on to her Smartscroll and she said.

Neo: ' You mean them?'

She pointed her finger at a pack of beowolves appear from alone beowolf behind.

Oobleck: And now they see us.

Weiss: What?

Oobleck: AND NOW THEY SEE US!

Roman: For Oum sake, would you keep your mouth down! There might be more of them.

Zone enforcer: Then what are we waiting for? Let's get 'em!

The beowolves go towards them as Ruby and the rest of them are attacking them. Zone troopers fired the railguns at them. Blake swings her cleaver at the beowolf head then to the chest to another beowolf from the right with her katana. Weiss swung at two beowolves that tried to attack her. The zone enforcers mow down the beowolves like it was nothing. Roman fired his cane at the beowolf and Neo stabbed through a throat with her hidden blade from her umbrella. Oobleck, missile squads & grenadier squads just stand there and let them handle those Grimms for a reason. Once they're taken care of, the Grimms start to evaporate as they turn into the dust. They scatter around to kill every Grimms within the city ruins so they can call MCV soon afterward.

Timeskip

Everyone went to one of the buildings to take shelter for the night. Ruby and her friends set up the fire and place their camp sleeping beds for the night. Some of GDI soldiers take a nap while some went to the night duty to be ready if any hostile appears to take any surprise attack. Roman & Neo join Team RWBY as they bring their sleeping beds. They still don't trust them but it was Jaune's idea to convince him to join GDI in the first place. Oobleck came to the room fast and he said to them.

Oobleck: Alright, it seems everyone is ready to sleep. We will finish this mission tomorrow then the GDI will set up a base here, correct?

Roman: Yes... That's exactly why we're here.

Oobleck: Okay then. Have a good night.

He said as he exited the room. Roman was sighing as he lay down to calm his mind. Neo lay down as well and went to sleep immediately.

Ruby: I'll be over there. Goodnight.

She said as she went beside the hole to keep a lookout for a night.

Later...

Everyone is sleeping on a peaceful night. Except for Ruby who is still looking outside to see any Grimms nearby or any suspicious criminal activity but she will go to sleep later. Oobleck was sleeping at the wall. Yang then opened her eyes and she said to Blake.

Yang: Blake, are you awake?

Then, she responds to her while her eyes closed.

Blake: Yeah.

Yang: You have a nightmare or something?

Blake; No... Well, yes I am.

Yang: About what?

Blake: Seeing our world to change. a lot of people died from the war that is impossible to win.

Yang: Hmm...

She then asked Weiss if she's awake.

Yang: Weiss, are you awake?

Weiss: Of course, I'm awake. You two are talking.

Yang: So... you have a nightmare too?

Weiss: * sigh* Yes... I dream about everyone I love dying in front of me. A figure wields a red sword blade as it has blood on it. It gives me shivers.

Yang: I'm sorry about that.

Weiss: It's alright. Although, I have a concern.

Blake: Like what?

Weiss: Like how I treat Jaune like trash when I heard about his fake transcript. I feel... guilty when I heard he's gone.

Yang: Well, he's alive and a GDI colonized leader. Now anyway, I've been wondering...

Blake: About what?

Yang: About why we want to be a huntsmen that Dr. Oobleck told us.

Weiss: Well, I for one, the reason I became a huntress is because I wanted to run away from my father and I'm fully aware of what he has done with the Schnee Dust Company. Since he took control, our business has to operate in a... moral gray area.

Blake: That's putting it lightly.

Weiss: This is why I feel the need to make things right. If I had taken a job in Atlas, it wouldn't have changed anything. My father is not the start of our name, and I refuse to let him be the end of it.

Blake: All my life, I fought for what I thought was right. I had a partner named Adam. More of a mentor. He always assured me that what we were doing would make the world a better place. But, of course, his idea of a perfect future turned out to be not perfect for everyone. I joined the Academy because I knew that Huntsmen and Huntresses were regarded as the most noble warriors in the world. Always fighting for good...

Then someone spoke out as she didn't finish her sentence.

Roman: Or fighting, that is something the world we live in.

They look at him surprised that he's already awake. Except Neo is still sleeping.

Yang: Did you just pretend to be asleep to hear our conversation?

Roman: Hmm... Maybe. You two talk so loud.

Blake: I can't believe you...

Yang: Geez... Talk about like that.

Weiss: You know, I was wondering... When did you learn those skills?

Roman: My skills?

Weiss: Yeah. Only huntsmen can do that. Blake told me you block every attack with your cane.

Blake: Don't forget he is able to block Sun's bullets.

He directly looks at the ceiling as he said to them.

Roman: Well, before I became a criminal, I joined Haven Academy in Mistral.

Yang: Wait. You are a huntsman.

Roman: Not exactly. You see, like Jaune, I make my fake transcript to enter the school.

Weiss: Really? Did your parents teach you like that?

Roman: I... Don't have parents.

Three of them are shocked that he doesn't have any parents. He continues to explain his story.

Roman: Actually, I have one but they were dead at that point. I'm alone, I was staying in my house to eat food to survive. To do that, I was able to sneak into the building, steal a transcript and make a fake one so they would be a fool to allow me to enter the school. I studied everything, training to fight and even created my weapon right here. Then, there's a graduation today so that means all parents must be there to see their children graduate. Seems they will get suspicious of why my parents didn't come, so I ran away to Vale. And that's how I became a criminal for that day to survive this awful world.

Blake: Okay... But what about her?

She said as she pointed her finger at Neo sleeping like a baby. Roman said to her.

Roman: Her? I found her crouching at the alley, starving for how long to live. When I talk to her, she can't talk.

Weiss: So she's a mute.

Roman: Yep... Good thing I made a sign language for her to understand me and she responded back. So I took her to my place and taught to survive. And give her favorite ice cream flavor. Once she's older, her semblance was open and she can do illusions. I trained her on how to fight so she can handle herself. You know, I feel like I'm her...

Blake: A father figure?

He smiled and he said while still looking at the ceiling.

Roman: Yeah. A father figure.

He turns his head to see her sleeping on the sleeping bed.

Roman: I wanted to protect her so much. Sure she can handle herself but I have a feeling that something would happen to her. But now, I don't feel worried anymore since I joined the GDI thanks to your friend, it's nice that we have a good day.

He said as he yawned a bit.

Roman: I think it's time for us to sleep. Being cranky won't do good tomorrow morning.

Yang: Well, he's right. We need shut-eye.

Weiss: Goodnight, everyone.

Roman: Goodnight, snow queen.

Weiss: Can you just stop calling me that! We have a bit of trust in you.

She huffed as he just called her snow queen.

Roman: Whatever...

He went to sleep and so did the others. Unknown to them, Oobleck smiled that they're getting along with Roman and Neo then he went back to sleep.

Timeskip

Ruby is sleeping on the bed until she feels something on her. She decided to go out of a building and take a peek outside at a structure ruin to hide without everyone seeing her. Once she's done, she's about to head back inside the building when she hears footsteps coming this way. So she went to hide at a structure. She sees two men wearing a dark uniform holding the weapons as they check the area. One of them said,

Nod militant 1: Area is clear. Let's head back to a hideout.

His partner nodded at him and walked away. Ruby wanted to know who those people are and why they're in the mountain Glenn filled with Grimms. So she went to investigate by following them behind without being seen.

Two of the men are walking headed towards their location. But they didn't know they were being followed by Ruby. She keeps following them until one of them feels something strange and she notices he's going to turn around. So she hides quickly before he turns his head around and sees no one is there so he goes to follow his partner. Ruby took a quick peek before they disappeared without a trace.

Ruby: I should contact the others.

She said, She grabbed her scroll and contacted her team. Unfortunately, there's a low signal which means she cannot contact them. So she decided to head back to the others to tell them about two men who appear in mountain Glenn.

Suddenly, the ground started to collapse as she grabbed it to hold on. She couldn't hold much longer as her hand started to become weak so she let go and landed on the rooftop of the building. She managed to stand up and saw an underground city beneath the surface. Just then, a door opens to see two militants pointing their guns at her.

Nod militant 2: Freeze!

Nod militant 1: How did she get here?

As the militants approach her, Ruby backs away only to end up on the very edge of the platform.

Nod militant 1: You're coming with us, little girl.

Ruby reaches back for her scythe, only to realize that she doesn't have it. Both militants approach her, and one of them grabs her arm.

Ruby: Hey! Hands off!

She jerks her arm out of the militant's hand and starts punching him. It has very little effect, he laughs when he sees a girl can't take him down so easily and he punches her in the face hard enough to knock her down.

Nod militant 2: The executor and grand confessor would wanna see this.

A militant kicks her in the head hard enough to knock her out.

...

Yang just woke up to see Ruby wasn't there anymore. She checks at the hole to see if she's out there. But she isn't there either.

Yang: Hey, where's Ruby?

Everyone was awake when they heard her. They look around to see Ruby isn't there too.

Roman: Where is the little red? Is she running off?

Weiss: No. She won't just run off elsewhere.

Oobleck: Everyone, get your weapons! I think your leader may be in danger.

He said. Team WBY and Oobleck went out of the building while Roman went to his forces to wake up and follow them. Neo follows Team WBY and Oobleck as well to find her.

...

Ruby awakes to the Nod militants who caught her dragging her by both arms through the underground city. All around her, Neo Nods are doing various work by gathering all of the dust resources containers that were stolen by the white fangs. She turns her head around to see two militants are carrying the bomb and put it into a train car. As they drag her, they approach both confessors and see them here.

Confessor 1: Report.

Nod militant 1: A little girl. We found her on the rooftop.

A confessor approached Ruby's face as he stared at her. She felt sweating and her eyes were shaking to see him scary.

He finishes observing her and he says to them,

Confessor: Take her to the Grand Confessor. He'll interrogate her.

They nodded as they dragged her to Grand Confessor Varkham.

...

Yang and the others found a hole and Ruby's scythe laying on the ground.

Yang: Look! It's my sister's scythe.

Blake: Oh no.

Neo: ' Did she fall there?'

Weiss: Do you think she fell?

Neo: ' Hey! I say it first, snow queen!'

She huffed as she pouted on her face. But they didn't notice her.

Oobleck: Fell?

Weiss: Down there.

He looked down the hole and then he said,

Oobleck: Oh my. Of course!

Of course, of course, Of Course!

Blake: What is it?

Oobleck: How could I be so stupid?!

Yang: Dr. Oobleck, what's wrong?

Oobleck: Mountain Glenn! Yes, an expansion of Vale that was inevitably destroyed by the creatures of Grimms! Previously home to thousands of people! Working people commuting to the city, the main city! Developed a subway system for the inner city! Grimm attacks increased! Population in danger, now desperately searching for shelter! City evacuates into the metro tunnels and what do they find? The southeast quadrant of Vale is known for its wild forests and deep caves!

Oobleck: My dear, we're not just looking for an underground crime network, we're looking for an UNDERGROUND crime network.

Blake: They've been working in caves?

Oobleck: No, no, Mountain Glenn was Vale's first serious attempt at expansion. It worked for a short period, thanks to an aggressive perimeter defense, and unique transportation; the city developed an elaborate subway system to carry citizens safely from the new territory into the main kingdom! Sadly, without the many natural barriers Vale had to protect the borders, Mountain Glenn was doomed from the start! As the end drew near, the citizens of the territory made one last attempt to survive: They took up shelter beneath the city! In massive caves that they had cleared out for the subway. And they had cut themselves off from the surface.

Yang: An underground village?

Oobleck: In a manner of speaking, yes. A haven. Until... an explosion opened the mouth of another cavern, filled with subterranean Grimm. After that, the kingdom officially sealed off the tunnels, creating the world's largest tomb. If Ruby is down there...

He deploys his weapon.

Oobleck: We must find her.

He said. Just before they went down to the hole, Neo came through and said on her scroll.

Neo:' Hold on! We should wait for Roman and the others first.'

Oobleck: Okay fine... But they need to be here quickly.

He said. Then, Roman and the entire GDI forces came just in time.

Roman: So... Did you guys find a little red?

Oobleck: Yes. It's-

Yang: Down there.

She said, pointing her finger to the hole.

Roman: Oh... Let's go down there then.
