🌸Interview(60): Silence of Melody🌸
Guess who came back from the dead?😁
Your all time favourite interviewer is back!
I and the other interviewers have become too busy to continue doing this and sadly I have removed the form page so no one gets to apply again.😩
I know it's sad but we have to survive in the real world too and not just the streets of wattpad😏
Anyhow, this doesn't mean the interviews are going to be completely dead!
Nope!
After I have finished interviewing everyone who got to fill the forms before the got taken down, I will be doing random interviews with book that I find extraordinary😁
Having said all that long crap, let's get into the good part!
(Crowd cheers)
Today, in the studio, I have mintquex the author of our book of the day 'Silence of Melody'
Now this books is a very short story and I came across it when I opened the review shop in my community account (TGE_Community) and I was amazed!
The book is just amazing. Told from a different perspective but very capturing in deed.
I am excited to have you here Mint!
Mi: Thank you Lilly.
Li: So let's start from the top, why do you write?
Mi: Since childhood, I have wanted to be a writer even though I didn't like reading back then.
Li: uhh that's a first timer! You didn't like to read, but you wanted to be a writer?😁
Mi: Yeah😂 So, A history teacher of mine had two huge diaries filled with self composed poems and ultimately that's what inspired me to pick up the pen.
Li: That means you started your writing journey as a poet?
Mi: Yeah, I used to write poems but felt like that wasn't me on the pages.
Li: Oh why is that?
Mi: Poetry is a different kind of intricate art and I must master it. Story writing seemed easier at the time. . .if only someone told me! Whew!
Li: 😂😂😂😂 I thought it was a piece of cake until I had to write a fight scene.
Mi: Yeah it is so much harder than we thought😂😂
Li: So, despite finding out that story writing was actually difficult, why did you continue writing?
Mi: Well, I am a person filled with ideas. Being an Army and having being inspired by RM's view of this world, you can say I am never out if ideas. I need to jot them down somewhere and that space is my humble attempts at writing books.
Besides, I am a short tempered, emotional person. But I kinda like to keep it to myself. Writing works as an outlet.
Li: Waoh, first I salute you for all the wonderful work you do for the country! You are the real heroes in this world🦹🏼♀️
Mi: Thank you!
Li: Now let's go to your story, Silence of Melody, what inspired it?
Mi: 'Silence of Melody' was inspired by a Reedsy prompt. The prompt was related to 2021 spring and flowers.
I love to find meaning of everything. Somehow one day in 2020, I found out meanings of different color of roses and fell in love with people's mind work behind putting these meanings.
How people associated flowers with every part and situation in life is absolutely admiring. I drew a bouquet of flowers and pasted the meanings of roses on my wall. When I saw the prompt, these two just clicked and the story came to life.
Li: Awww that's so sweet.
Aside that, did any story in the real world inspire its development
Mi: I was heavily disheartened by romanceless reality and wanted a world where love is at its purest, most precious form. And what better way to relive it again and again than reading a book. Even better writing the world I imagine for ex-hopeless romantics like me.
Li: Ex?🧐
Mi: Yes Lilly and donty venture in too deep😆
Li: Which character is your favourite and what connects you to them?
Mi: Hanna, undoubtedly.
Li: Hmm, why Hanna? I mean she wasn't even alive at the time the story was told.
(Sorry for the spoiler🐻)
Mi: She is the reason this story exists in the first place. The meaning of roses may have inspired me but a mute florist is the one who blew life into the story.
Hanna and I are pretty similar in terms of pushing people like Ashar away😁
Li: Hmmmm I see😂
Mi: I may not be mute but people sometimes think I am thanks to my overly introvert personality. While Hanna is a people's person but with a drawback.
Li: Well, I think I am a people's person too but with a drawback just like Hanna.😂
But tell me, you both aren't really similar, so how come you connect with her the most?
Mi: Even if her situation isn't similar, with mine, since mine is being intentionally silent and hers is an incapability.
A strong woman is a every female's role model. I wanted her to bloom even with her inability and I am hoping I succeeded in portraying the character.
Li: Well, I think you did portray her as a strong woman. I mean she fought till the end and I cried for her😂😂
(Yes, people I won't drop any more spoilers but the end really left me sad😩)
Okay, so, how did you come up with the title?
Mi: 'Silence of Melody' was 'Of Silence and Melody' actually.
Li: Oh, why did you change it?
Mi: A friend helped me rename it.
Li: Oh cool, thumbs up to great friends!🙏🏼
So what does it mean, how does it connect to the story?
Mi: Silence symbolizes Hanna in the story. Besides of being a mute, Hanna also is a pretty calm and collected person. She silently spreads love and sprinkles everyone's lives with satisfaction and harmony.
Melody is Ashar. Ashar is the opposite of Hanna. She is shy and he is bold. He is someone who lives in a crowd for the crowd.
Ashar is the role model of the youngsters. People love him for his outgoing personality. He is their melody.
Hanna's melody that filled her Silence in pursuit of love.
That's how the name came to be.
Li: Waoh!
Just waoh!
This is so amazing, I am speechless.
Ordinarily, the title is beautiful. But hearing you say it like that, is so much more deeper. Thank you for spreading love with this story!🤍
Mi: Thank you Lilly.😁
Li: Who is your least favourite character and why?
Mi: I have only a handful of characters in my small short story. How can I like anyone the least?
Li: 😂I don't know? You might have that one annoying character you couldn't figure out😂😂😂😂
Mi: 😏 No, Lilly, I actually don't have a least. I love every single character in my book.
Li: Okay, so, moving on, If the book could go or if it could have another ending, what would it be?
Mi: I never thought of that. But if the book ended differently, I would have Hanna be still alive but probably in coma.
Li: No way! The point of asking this was so you could save Hanna😭😭😭😭
Okay, what else would you change?
Mi: Mawar would have being a witchy clingy and awful florist and a 3rd wheeler. Maybe even a homewrecker. 😂😂
Li: Oh my God! I think that's cruel😂😂😂
😂
I love it!
But please think of a scenerio where Hanna doesn't have to die!😭😭
Mi: Hmmm how about Hanna waking up and pretending to forget Ashar to push him away. So Ashar moves on and so on.
Li: 😂😂😂😂
Okay, enough now!
😂😂😂😂
Finally, what were your challenges when you wrote this book?
Mi: That would be finding unique named and the correct flower and their meaning. I live to name my characters uniquely. Each of the names took me days to find.
The flowers, Gosh! For weeks!
All I did was search for flowers and their meaning.
Different websites had different meanings. So I had to either look for another flower or take the common meaning and stick to that.
These two things worked me up bad during the time I was writing this book.
Li: Waoh! That was so much work. But I am glad it came out great!
This should serve as a point of lesson for everyone. You want a great story, then do your homework!😁
Thank you so much for being here and answering my questions Mint, you are amazing!
Mi: Thank you for giving me this opportunity to interview with you.
We have come to the end people! And I am so excited to be doing this again after so many months!
If you have any comment and addition, feel free to drop it in here or in my DMs and let's have a party!
Goodnight!❤️
