Li: What inspired you to write about your story, "Hate Me All You Want"?

SC: There wasn't an inspiration. It was more of an eureka moment.

Li: Oh, so how did you create it— How did the book come into picture?

SC: So basically I was writing my teen fiction novel and there was a very grim scene that was taking place and it made me very sad.

So, then I thought I wanted to give and write something that would make people smile and entertain them and that's how the book came into picture.

Li: What inspired your title, was it the dialogue where Lucas mentioned it?

SC: Haha, yes.🤣
The word 'hate' is always taken in quite a negative aspect and I thought that this title was quite intriguing. I mean it does work for Wattpad😁

Li: Oh yes, it sure does 😁

SC: If the book's name was "Stuck between two handsome twins" it would prolly get more views

Li: I think the present title works better though, but tell me why didn't you go with this, " Stuck between two handsome twins "?

SC: I wanted something different.

Li: Ah! And " Hate Me All you Want" got the winning vote🤣 okay, great!

Next question, Your story has so many amazing characters; how did you come up with them?
Were they based on real people in your life?

SC: Okay, so Bella is a little based on me and Alexis reflects my insecurities.

My main aim was to make the characters as relatable and human as possible.

The trauma and Alexis fear of people she loved walking out on her was something I could relate to a lot and I thought people would like that.

A strong character makes all the difference in a story.

Li: You are absolutely right about that!

Since you mentioned Bella, does she have a crush on Lucas?🤔

SC: No, Bella is a loyal queen.

Li: Not even a tiny bit?🧐

SC: 😁 No Lilly.
She is a bisexual as hinted towards the last chapters and she feels attracted to Jen.

Li: Jen? The same Jen😳?

SC: Yes, Jen; Ryder's girlfriend. However Bella's very pure of heart and she would not do anything that would hurt her friends.

Li: Huh. . .(sighs) so there won't be drama😒?

SC: No Lilly, not in that scenario, No.😄

Li: Oh😒😒

Moving on, On a scale of 1-7, how cruel is Zack and his father?

I think they are beyond evil! For hurting poor Lucas 😡😡

We should burn them!!!

SC: I mean Zack is evil alright. I guess I'll rate him 5.

What pains me about Zack the most is that he has no compassion towards his mother, like she's old and requires caring on top of that she suffers from a bipolar disorder.

So instead of helping, he makes things difficult. It reflects his insecurities towards Lucas better.

About burning them, I think there is a better way to deal with them😉

Li: Well, I hope your way is slow and painful😤

Okay, talk to me about sweet Ted🥰

—I feel like you just made him get angry over that list so Lucas doesn't have to murder anyone in order to get Alexis😏

SC: Haha😅 nice plan. . .

But Ted was a necessary character as it reflects how the world judges you unlike Lucas.

Li: But I felt like, Ted really cared about Alexis🤔

SC: If he really cared about Alexis, he would ask her the reasons for doing this and listen to her. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes but sometimes one mistake can ruin everything and take away everyone we care about.

The world doesn't care about you or your reasons, and this harsh truth was something I wanted to show via Ted.

Li: I still feel bad that things ended the way they did.😔 The guy was really cute😔

Moving on, what message does this book tell us?

SC: It's basically me trying to tangle complicated human relationships, be it between two twins, or a girl and her teacher, or between a son and his mother.

Li: Beautiful message! But I think we had more of romance in the story.

SC: Yes the romantic aspect was focused on a lot more but the main message is that sometimes we just have to stop judging everyone and sit down and talk to them.
A little communication solves everything.

Li: Wow, sarcasticoffeelover5 just keeps spreading so much love and beautiful messages in here, I think I am going to fly🥰

Now, what was the hardest part of writing this book and how did you overcome it?

SC: The hardest part was for me the number of characters and deciding the events that would take place.

Like I am happy where Bella ended up, even though she's single, I wanted to tell people in my way that we don't always have to find the one or end up with a person to be happy and definitely shaping Alexis's character and her journey because yes she was wounded, but she had to see the error of her ways as well.

Li: Wow! You just dropped major spoilers in that answer!🔥🔥🔥

Before I let you go, why did you apply to be interviewed?

SC: I heard about it through a shout out actually and you're also my reviewer BTW for another book club.

But yeah, I saw your profile and you seemed very nice and kind so I applied.

I feel that many readers on Wattpad (those only reading) are silent and many times they are just scared of interacting with the authors so interviews at least gives them a chance to get to know them.

Li: (*sniff*) awwwwww I think that answer deserves a bell!

On a more serious note though, I think you are right, a lot of readers on Wattpad are afraid to interact and interviews really help them to get to know the authors and the stories.
