Today's interview is with the amazing Sariope_Hope and I will be focusing on her book 'Beholders of Great Magic' which is a Blacktan fan fiction. If you know anyone who is a fan of the famous Kpop stars, please tag them to come support a story by a fellow fan!❤

Li: Hey Nim😁, I welcome you to the show.
Without wasting time, what's the story behind your plot?

Nim: The story wasn't planned at all, haha! It all started one time, when I wasn't able to sleep at night. I have a hobby of creating stories in my head, when I feel bored. So that night, when I couldn't sleep, I created the story wherein my two favourite Kpop groups where the lead characters. I enjoyed the flow of the story, so I decided to pull up a paper from my drawer in the middle of the night and wrote down the plot.

Li: Waoh! I really admire that determination. The one thing I hate doing when I am comfortable in bed, is leaving the bed. If I got a story idea in the middle of the night, that story would have to wait till daytime to be written or it remains dead in my head. (God I have killed so many stories!😩)

Nim: Well, a story idea pops in my head once in a blue moon and I can't let it pass😁

Li: How did you get the title?

Nim: The title of my story was inspired from a fantasy-drama I watched two years ago,'Encantadia', so while thinking about a possible title for my story it just popped out of my head and suddenly the tittle 'Beholders of Great Magic' was born.

Li: (Do you smell popcorn?)

Sophie: No🙄 it's just you!

Right, how did you come up with their world name, Lighterrian?

Nim: Lighterrian hmmm.. I was able to come up with that, when I was reading a fantasy book. The world in that book was 'Layteria', then I thought 'what about Lighterrian? That could be a good name for the world in my story'. The name sounded cool too so, I decided to give it a Go!

Li: It does sound cool. Almost like a mixture of Terrain + Light = Lighterrian, smart right?😁

Nim: Yeah, that was also what I had in mind. It fits the description of my world.

Li: Are the characters personality exactly like the Kpop stars?

Nim: No. Not exactly, there might be similarities but the rest are just coincidence.

Li: Okay, so who exactly is that Old woman that received the girls on earth?

Nim: She was a Lighterrian Citizen. She was sent on earth as punishment for a crime she didn't commit. The four girls thought it was just a coincidence that she was there when they arrived, but the truth is she was already exp-

(❌❌❌)

Sorry😁.

Li: (glares at Sophie)

So what was her real name?

Nim: Her name wasn't really revealed in the story, although the girls called her grandma😍

Li: hmmm and you are sure she wasn't anyone important? I find it strange that some sweet innocent old woman got banished for no reason and the same woman happen to be the one to shelter and protect the girls in a new world. That's a conspiracy!

Sophie; ❌! FOCUS!

Nim: Her banishment was a product of cruel fate, but it was destined for her to shelter the girls. If the readers are curious on how the old lady was already exp-

😁 well, they just have to read the story to find out. Sophie is right, that scene shouldn't be told here😂😂

Li: Okay, I will let the poor old woman be, FOR NOW!

Who is your favourite character?

Nim: My favourite character in the story is Jisoo. Originally it was Rose but Jisoo's character just stood out. Being the eldest, it was difficult for her. A tough job. Knowing they were sucked into a portal leading to a new world, she became their mother, father and elder sister all at once.
I admire her for being strong and her ability to shoulder all the responsibilities was just admirable.

Li: Jisoo really is a great character but I love Lisa more.

Sophie: just because her nickname is lili doesn't make her your twin! You are Lilly!

(Spoil sport!😒)

So who is your least favourite person?

Nim: Hmmm...I don't think I have one. The characters in this story are all important and close to my heart.

Li: Even Delato!😒
Anyway, What scene in the book was your favourite?

Nim: My favourite scene was the never ending bickering between Jennie and Rose. I had fun writing those scenes, especially since I could somehow relate to them,😂

Li: What was your favourite moment in the story then?

Nim: My favourite moment in the story for now, is the scene where they all meet each other after so many years.

Li: What was your least favourite moment in the story?

Nim: My least favourite moment in the story was the flashback on Namjoon's POV. It narrated the happenings during the attack of Delato and how a huge part of that attack brought pain in their hearts. It made me teary-eyed a lil bit, because I know how it hurts when you lose someone important.

Li: Awww, are you always very 'teary-eyed'? I noticed your characters complaining about the fact that you kept soiling the papers with your tears!😁

Nim: ☺ I do get very emotional sometimes. Oh! how I wish my characters gave me a tissue box though😪

Li: Never mind that! I'll ask Jennie to get you a container of tissues😂

Was there any funny thing you did in the process of writing this story?

Nim: There was this time, I had to hide in the comfort room to avoid my mum!😂

Li: You mean the toilet!😂 No way! Why is that?

Nim: Well, sometimes I just want to write and she would be screaming at me to go to bed. Technically she is right, because I shouldn't really be staying up late too often.
Sometimes, I would tell myself, 'do your homework girl! You have a deadline to catch!' But I end up opening Wattpad writing a new chapter.

Li: 😂 That is quite funny because we all do it! But you should really finish up your school work😁

So how has the experience been, you know, in terms of your writing journey?

Nim: Writing this story wasn't easy. I had to make sure my grammars were correct and I'm still working on that, considering English isn't my first language. I had to also make sure the flow of the story is good and a lot of things like that.
But I love writing and all the difficulties I face in my writing journey is rewarded when I see people reading and commenting on my book. That alone is enough to put a smile on my face. I tell myself, 'Good job! You did it!'

Li: You really did it, because writing really isn't as easy as it may seem.

Now to our random question, pick between a hot chocolate drink and a chocolate flavoured ice-cream.

Nim: As a person who loves anything cold, I would surely pick chocolate flavoured ice cream.

Li: Ah! Who wouldn't want ice cream? Not me!😁

Nim: yeah..especially when the weather here is sunny, ice cream would be in great demand😂

Li: I should open an ice cream shop in Philippines❤

So, if Blackpink were on Wattpad and they got to read this, what message to do have for them?

Nim: I would say; 'Hello Blackpink, I just want to thank you for inspiring me to write this story and I hope for us to meet😄 someday!
You four have always been my idols and you make a great impact in my life.'

Li: Aww you really do love them😍 okay Blackpink, I hope your manager got that!😎

So do you want to give a shout out to anybody?

Nim: I wanna give a shout out to my best friend shiteutea, my first reader and to my mum. They have supported me and my story from scratch. They have cheered and encouraged me to upload constantly. You guys will always have a special place in my heart forever❤

Nim: I would recommend 'The Guardian's Gift' by shiteutea, the story is amazing and it's worth the read.
