What is the story behind your story, Indigo?

234: Indigo's journey actually started in a little swimming pool when I was eight.

Li: Awww, that's cute.❤

234: Yeah, me and my cousins were playing mermaids and my 'character' was Indigo and she had dark magic.

Li: I remember playing out stories with myself mostly, but it was nothing smart😫.

So, Indigo is a story you created when you were only eight, waoh!🤔

234: Yeah, Indigo resurfaced again when I was swimming with my besties Seaotter17 and 33-bookworm ; then Izzy forced me to write a story when I was eleven.

Li: Hmmm tell me about that. .  .

234: The first chapter was the beginning of my terrible story. It was just for Izzy and Lolen, so that's why Crystal and Sicora are so undeveloped.

Li: Oooh Sicora and Crystal are a representation of your friends in real life?

234: Yeah, it's kinda embarrassing, now that I think about it.

Li: No way! I think it's cute.
I wish one of my friends could write a story and make me a character😫
Besides, I think great stories need to have characters that we can actually relate to real people.

Anyway, how did you create the Indigo world and develop such uniqueness?

234: I don't entirely remember how it all came together. Me and Lolen just had a lot of brainstorming sessions on the school field. I even made a Map of Mermaidia, but I am not sure where it went.
I guess the organized chaos my room was at the time wasn't as organized as I thought.

Li: 😂😂😂😂😂 disorganized orderliness!😂😂. . .

Where did you get the inspiration for their names? I noticed that you have a lot of captivating and unique names. Like Amaury, Sicora, Akama, Adira etc.

234:  A lot of the names I used actually have meanings.
Amaury and Adira's name both mean 'Strong/Strength'.
Akama means 'Devil/Demon' (welcometotacodana picked it out) and a future character's name is Lilith which means 'Night Monster'.

Li: Waoh! I just learned a lot of things. I didn't know Lilith had such a dark meaning🤔

Okay, how about John, why didn't you give him a more mysterious name like the others.

234: John got his name because it was the most generic name I could think of. He wasn't originally going to be important at all, and then next thing I know he's in the Shark Kingdom losing an arm.😈

Li: Uuuuh! Yes people, this story isn't just about cute mermaids with beautiful names, we have the angry Sharks too that can take even more than an arm, if you are not careful!😈

Now, you know how most authors make their MCs extra special and all 😃 I was wondering why isn't Indigo a princess?

234: Who says she can't be a princess?😈😈😈😈
*cackles evilly*😈😈😈😈

Li: Lol, this is opening doors to a lot of new possibilities!😂😂😂

Okay, moving on; who is your favourite character?

234: Oh, that's a hard one.😁😄
I like all of my characters. They are all unique and have their own strengths and challenges.
(Wow, I sound like a mom who was just asked which is her favourite kid)😆😆😁

Li: 😂😂😂 stop being a mom and pick one already!

234: I really like Darius. He's like that strong, loyal friend who is ridiculously protective and in Sicora's case, ridiculously attractive😉 and just one of the best guys you will ever meet.

Li: 😇 okay, because I am an angel; tell me about one more character you really really like.

234: Surprisingly, Goldy Starstruck is in my top five.

Li: *gasps in shock* NO way!🧐

234: 😄 She's going to have a little short story soon that is just heartbreaking and it has betrayal too. (It isn't one of my stories if it doesn't have betrayal in it)😂

Li: You know a fan of yours sioic1yt asked this question and I also can't help but wonder the same thing. Why so much betrayal?
It is like everyone is a traitor and they are just waiting for the right time to show it! Why!😭

234: Well, I said it before, if there isn't betrayal, it isn't my story!

*cackles evilly, again*

Li: Okay, if you were to kill someone in your book, who would it be?
Personally, I have quite a list of merpeople I want dead!😈

234: Well, I have kind of 'killed' Darius😈 and there is another character named Skyler Rose who will find herself impaled😈, but I really do want to kill off Queen Rose!😈😈
I am just not sure how to do that yet. Maybe it will come to me in the second draft, which I do need because, let's be honest, the beginning of my story stinks.
I'm gonna need that list of yours, by the way!😈😈

What is your favourite scene in the book?

234: My favourite scene is. . . (hands down). . .the kissing scene.

Li: Uuuuh, interesting💋

234: 😄Ever since I dreamed up Conor, I knew he was the guy.
But I feel like I didn't do it justice, which is another reason why I need that draft.
