On that note, we are going to be talking about, "The Assassin", a book written by the amazing and ever supportive NykkyBee!

Nykky, what inspired this story?

Ny: I have always loved assassins-

Li: (Spits out water) Whaaat!?😱

Ny: 😁I don't know what you are thinking Lilly, but it's not what you think.

Li: 😱😱wait-- you love assassin?

Ny: Their stories😅

Li: 😅😅 Okay, why do you love assassins?

Ny: Not really sure why but I just love reading assassin stories.
When I went home schooled, I had lots of time. So, I kind of just started this story and it panned out.

Li: Hmmm🤔 now that makes sense😁

So, why did you decide to have a female assassin in a world where female assassins were never heard of?

Ny: I just feel it made her pop that much more. The only female fighting to be seen as an equal in this profession but then surpasses most others. To me, it added some drama.

It also comes into play later in the story. . . though to answer why she is an assassin in the first place requires some movement into her past.🤓

Li: Hmmm of course we have to dive into her past. . .😫
Who is your favourite character?

Ny: I would have to say either Zachary or Jaycie.😍

Li: Za- did you just say Zachary?😂 why Zachary?
I understand Jaycie is your main character but why Zachary?

Ny: Well, while crafting him, I kind of got the chance to make the 'bully-friend *mystery feature* mystery character'. I also love the back and forth fighting between Zachary and Jaycie. It was really fun to create him and write his parts.

Li: Wait wait, slow down- what mystery character feature are you talking about?😊🤔

Ny: I can't say the mystery feature ruining something.
Am I allowed to add spoilers?🙊

Li: Well, I love a good spoiler! And besides, no one is here to buzz you😂😂😂

Ny: On second thoughts. . .I won't drop this spoiler, go read the book Lilly!😂😂

Li: Ah! The pain😭

Okay, What's up with that other guy that kissed her?
(What's his name?🤔)

Ny: I wish I could answer that but this could be several people depending on where you are, 😂

Li: . . .hmmmm. . .Garret! Yes! That's his name Garret! What's up with h-

Wait, what do you mean by 'I could be talking about several people'? Are you saying a lot of people are going to be sucking mouths with her?😱

Ny: Oops, gonna pretend I totally didn't say that about kissing, lol😂😂😂😂😂

For real though, 'Lot' is a stretch but you could have been referring to several people from book one.

Li: 😁😁😁😁 I'll get to the bottom of it.
So what's up with Garret? Why did he have to kiss her so early in the book?🤨

Ny: Well, everyone loves a sudden declaration of love right?😍
Drama right from the start to hook the reader!

Li: 😂A good drama at the start always hooks people. I think the further I read the more I'm starting to love Garret though.

Next question, I noticed that your characters were sort of different. I don't think they are humans. What are they exactly?

Ny: Well, they are pretty much humans, but I wanted to give them heightened senses and healing powers so I made up a random fictional specie. Then I added a few non-human features to prove they were a different specie.

Li: I see. . .does Jaycie have this ability?

Ny: Which one, The healing?

Heightened senses?

Un-human features?

Or all of the above?

Li: Welllllllll. . .🤔😁

Let's start with the healing ability. She doesn't have it, or does she?
It seems someone else always have to heal her whenever she gets injured.

Ny: She does have it. Though there are certain reasons why sometimes you can't use said powers.

Li: Oh. . . cool!
So, who is your least favourite character?

Ny: I love all my characters, no matter how bad they are.

Li: 😫😫 there has to be someone we can kill! Come on think harder!

Ny: If I have to pick, then it'll be Colton.

Li: Colton?🤨

Ny: Yeah, he becomes a bigger character towards the end of the first book and through the rest of the series.

Li: Hmmm okay.

What was your favourite scene to write?

Ny: Oh, this is a hard one.😥

Li: We have to put you on the hot seat, I am sorry😀😀😁😁

As for the scene, I loved the fight between her and that Falore?

(Was it Falore🤔? Damn! I am getting old!👵)

Ny: Falore?🤨

Li: Farren! Yes, Farren!
I loved how she started out that fight with so much confidence only to loose at the end. It was well acted out.

Ny: Oh my, that scene was so fun to write. I love all my fight scenes though.

Li: Yeah, that scene was cool. So what was yours?

Ny: One of my favourite scene is in chapter 4, when she goes over the side of the pit.

Li: I haven't read that far, but I'm sure it's epic!
Moving forward, which moment gave you so much trouble writing it?

Ny: Actually the end of the book, the last chapter or two was the hardest.

Li: Why was it the hardest?

Ny: I wanted to make it  believable and end it with a great cliff hanger and the same time. It was just hard to pull off.

Li: Would you say that was your least favourite scene?

Ny: No, I wouldn't say that. I don't actually have a least favourite moment. I just have a most complicated one.😁

Li: Right, I get you😂😂
