On today's episode of 'I Know Good Writers'😁 I have with me the amazing delwritesbooks who I call Winnie❤️ because she won my heart😍😍

So, what inspired your book, "Songbird"?

W: I don't really know, to be honest with you. When I was writing another book, "Touch the Stars"

and no, you will never get to see it😣

Li: Lol, why won't I ever get to see it😂😂

W: It was my first book and the ending was bad so I just deleted it but maybe one day I'll rewrite it.🤦🏽‍♀️

Li: 😂😂 okay back to Songbird. When you were writing 'Touch the Stars', what happened?

W: Well, I suddenly had the idea for a redhead musical prodigy and the story just bloomed from there😁

Li: Why a redhead🤔? Are you a redhead?

W: No, 😂 I'm an unfortunate brunette😂

Li: Lol, Okay. But I think Brunettes are very cute too😁

By the way, your book 'Songbird' is actually well written and quite interesting I must say. Not your everyday kind of book.✌

Do you play any musical instruments, though?

W: Thank you! And I do play the guitar but not anymore.

Li: So, back to the interview.
You said you just got the idea randomly, how about your characters, how did you create them?

W: Well, the idea for autumn was simple; a red haired musical prodigy who had a rough past but has a dream to be a star one day.

Li: How about Harley?

W: Harley, I think I named him after a motorcycle, but he was a bad boy on the outside, but someone who's plagued by his past (no spoilers)❌

Li: Why did you decide to have dual POVs?

W: The idea for dual POVs was simple when I decided that I wanted to write something about two broken people coming together through music

Li: Lol😂

So, let me start with Autumn. What really happened with her parents
I know fathers can be a little insensitive in situations like this but what about her mum?

W: Well, since I put the book on hold to focus on my ONC entry, I haven't written that part yet. but basically, her mom leaves for another teaching position and doesn't come back.

Li: That's so sad😥😥😥
Then we have her sister Emery, right?

W: Emery is lowkey me half the time. I mean, she's sassy, devoted, a hero to her sister, and a big mood🤓

Li: I feel like her story is the saddest in the whole book😥
I mean she gave up her dreams for her sister, that's so hard to even imagine!😣

W: definitely! I love writing sad stories, so she was definitely a character that popped into my head.

Li: I love my sisters but giving up my life for them! I am not sure I can do that! So yeah, Emery really is a hero!

W: Yeah and Emery loves Autumn. You can't really tell most of the time, but she does. . .

Li: Oh I can tell😜

W: 😁

Li: Now let's move back to Harley, what's really happening to him?

W: So, I can't give too much away, but back when Harley was on tour, he was involved in an accident that led to the death of his best friend (Adrian) he's felt guilty ever since.

Li: Yeah, I got that much from the chapters, my question is, is it becoming a medical condition?😣
Why does he keep seeing Adrian in his dreams?😣
Cute boys shouldn't be subjected to such emotional stress😪😪

W: He keeps seeing Adrian because I think he has a PTSD of sorts. He's traumatized over what happened and he blames himself for it. . .

Li: Oh God!😥 He needs help!😱

And don't tell me you think he has a sort of PTSD🙄!
You know what's happening to him, you just don't want to spill it😫😫

W: Oh yeah I do know but I haven't gotten the chance to write it yet😊. Like I said, I'm putting the book on hold to focus on my ONC entry. . .

Li: Okay, enough sadness, let's talk about sweet Faye😍
What's the origin of that name
It almost sounds African?

W: Ah yes! Faye, my baby.
Actually, it isn't.
It's my IRL friends middle name and I was like 'pretty'😍, so I basically based it around that.

Faye is the angel on your shoulder😇. She is sweet, supportive, chaotic, and basically the ideal best friend

Li: Yeah, she is so sweet.😊

I kind of have a problem with the fact that everyone says she is a gossip.
Is she?🤔

W: We don't see her as much anymore, but I'm definitely going to keep including her✌

Li: Sure.
So, tell me about Hayden.
How did such a cute nerd end up with a band?🤓

W: Jayden?

Li: Damn keyboard of mine!📛📛
I write Jayden and it gives me Hayden!

W: And yes, he ended up with the band when Jim Bean first started it. He auditioned and Jim Bean let him in, but he's not one of those guys who wears dark clothing and mohawks. He definitely loves the bass, but he doesn't want it to be the rest of his life

Li: How old is Jim Bean?🤔

W: In his late 20's
I think 28🙂

Li: I thought Harley was the band leader. . .

W: Harley became the leader but Jim Bean was the one that started it

Li: Oooh , now that makes sense

W: Yeah😁

Li: Is there a possibility that Emery will end up with Jayden's brother?😂

W: Oh no!
Luca is going to be the one for her

Li: Aiiiyy! you dropped a spoiler❌❌

But I love this twist😍

So, who is your favourite character?

W: DEFINITELY Luca😍
the guy is a smol bean and he's just so cute and adorably awkward❤😍

Li: Wait wait wait!😮

Same Luca in the band?😯

W: No😏

Li: Wait. . was it Luca or Louis that's in the band?

W: Louis is in the band
Luca is Autumn and Harley's supervisor😜

Li: Oooh yes, now I remember him😶
The guy that took Harley to the Janitor's closet to have a contract discussion😂😂😂

W: Yesss!
Well Harley took him to the closet😜

Li: Perfect! I think that Luca and Emery would make a sweet couple✌

W: Yesss!

Li: So, who is your least favourite?

W: We should tie Amelie, and Mr/Mrs Henningsen to a chair and push it off a cliff😡

So, what was your favourite moment?

W: My favorite moment so far was definitely the beginning
I feel like there's a bit of a disconnection since then so I'm putting it on hold for a bit. . .

Li: Hmmm, it happens.
So far what chapter or scene seemed difficult for you to write?

W: Probably the unpublished chapter 10. I just can't figure out what to write next 😂, so it's been a bit of a struggle

Li: You'll get through it, love.
So, what's the message behind your story?

W; The message that I'm going to convey is to always follow your dreams, no matter what other people tell you✌

Li: Waoh thank you❤

I wonder what's going to happen when Autumn tells Emery about the competition🙊

W: I'm thinking Emery is going to support her🙈

Li: She has being trying to hide for so long, do you think she'll want to come out now?

W: Yeah, I think she will😁
