Ladies and Gentlemen, let's welcome CarolineKorlins, author of our Focus, "Seven Deadly Sins" or simply "SDS"

Before I start, I'll like to give you guys a hint.

Since that is out of my little brain, let's get started Caroline, shall we?🙂

Ca: Sure😁

Li: What's your story 'Seven deadly sins' really about?

Ca: Well, it's about a college girl, who moves into a house haunted by seven deadly sins demons.

Li: Why did this college girl move into this house? Why isn't she with her parents?

Ca: She's actually running away from her past and traumatic memories.

Li: Demons aren't really known to cohabit peacefully with humans. .how does she survive with them?

Ca: True, Demons aren't usually nice to the people living in their house, but seeing how depressed and hurt Hailie is, they decide to help her instead of hurt her.

Li: Hmmm. . .What inspired this plot?

Ca: When I joined Wattpad, I though that I needed an idea what to write about, so I looked into my notebook full of writing ideas and prompts.
I was thinking all day what to choose and I finally decided that the one about seven deadly sins demons was ideal to start with (although the choice was hard; sometimes I think that I’ve got too many ideas and too little time 😂😂😂)

Li: Wait!🤔 you have a notebook where you write stories? As in a notebook full of stories?

Ca: Yeah, SDS isn't my first story, but it's the first one published. And I've got so many ideas that I have to write them somewhere, because otherwise I can't stop thinking about them😅

Li: Before I panic, how many stories do you have right now?

Ca: In my notebook there is around 100 ideas of future books and stories.😎

Li: A hundred, Wwwwwhhhhhaaatttttt!😲😱
Where do you get these ideas from?!😱

Ca: First, I have very detailed dreams, which are more like movie scenes played in my head at night.

Second, sometimes idea just pops in my head and I'm spending a whole day thinking about it, until it becomes something like a draft.

And I'm also reading a lot of books and various story prompts🙃

Li: Waohhhhh😯
Girl, how large is your brain?

Ca: I'm always thinking about the plot before I go to sleep, it's like a habit now, so I guess my brain is like, "let me rest finally" and I'm like, "just one more thing, what should happen next in the book?"😆

Li: Poor brain😊
Anyway, your storyline is really inspiring and I truly loved it😍

Ca: Aww, I'm so happy to hear that😍

Li: Who is your favourite character though?

Ca: Ohhh it's a hard question, but I think I like Pride the most of all. She's so sweet and she always has amazing words of encouragement. Everything about her screams "GIRL POWER" and I really love it, cause you know, girls are the best 😃 

Besides, she feels so powerful. Nothing can undermine her position or confidence. She just knows that she's the Queen👸

Li: Lol, pride really is something🙃
I like Hallie, she has been through so much and seeing her pull through is just amazing😊

Ca: Yes, Hailie is really strong. Physical abuse is something terrible, but she managed to deal with fear and she stood up to the worst person on the Earth, Jayson.

Li: Why did you decide to have seven sins/demons?

Ca: There are seven deadly sins and I thought that it's an interesting topic to write about - introduce the sins as demons, who are maybe not quite living😆, but a little bit human alike beings, because they can feel and rationalize their actions.

My boyfriend says they're something in between dementors and wizards.

Li: 😄that's hilarious
So who is your least favourite character?

I think mine is Amy! I saw somewhere some of your readers planned on killing her!🙄 I want to join that team!👿 She is the worst friend ever!😠

Ca: I don't wish for a friend like that to anybody, she's really the worst.

But my least favourite character is Jayson.

I hate men like him, who are using fear and force in order to make everything their way, and who are just so horrible. No man should ever raise his hand on a woman😡

Li: You are right! But I feel like if Amy wasn't in the picture, maybe what happened might have not happened😁 (soo many 'happeneds'😂)

But yeah, men like Jayson should be crucified! 👿

Ca: Yeah, and those who are beating dogs and cats😠

Li: Yeah and those too!👿 You can't just walk around and hurt animals! Pick on living beings your own sizes!🏹🗡🔫🔪

Moving on, what was your favourite moment in the story?

Ca: Honestly, I love all the moments when we're going back to the past and learning more about demons history.

I've always loved flashbacks, because they help you get to know the character even better, that's how you can learn what happened to them, what made them act the way they're acting in the present. And so, I would say that the most of all, I like the chapter, where I showed Lust's history.
He might seem dangerous and cruel at the beginning, but in the chapter "The One Who Has Changed", it is shown that he wasn't like that always. He actually has some soft spots😘

Li: Awwwwww, unbelievable but yeah even as evil as I am, I still love babies☺

Ca: Oh no, you don't seem evil at all!

Red: Wait until you attend her evil class 101🙄

Li:  Durrggh!😁
What scene posed a challenge for you to write, Caroline?

Ca: I think that the hardest scene to write was the one, when I've showed Hailie's history and what happened to her the night she was attacked and stabbed in the arm.

Li: Oh, why is that?

Ca: It was hard to make it seem realistic, to write all the feelings and thoughts in her head, when she tried to escape. For her it was like a life or death situation, so it was a challenge to write it correctly (I hope I've managed to show it realistic enough)🙃

Li: I think you did a good job🤓
You've been building the tension correctly for a while so when you did drop the true incidence, I really felt her pain😣

As a female, do you think it's difficult to write male characters POVs? Like their reactions, dialogues etc.

Ca: It's definitely harder to write male characters POVs than female's😄
But I've got used to it, because SDS isn't my first book. In previous books I've been introducing male characters too.

Li: Ah! I see🤔.

So any advise for new female authors that want to write books with lots of male characters?

Ca: Ask your male friends😂😂

But taking it seriously, it's important to know what type of guy is your character.
It's just like with female characters, you need to know their personality and past to know how they'll act in various situations.
Let them talk to you, but it's also important to remember that everybody has their soft spots and everybody has feelings. And so, even the biggest badass might sometimes find himself in a hard situation.

Speaking of words, what's the message behind SDS?

Ca: I'd say that, just like every story, it has even more than one message.

Mainly, I think that on Hailie's example SDS shows that it's important to fight for yourself and to believe in yourself.

Life is sometimes really hard, but I think that there's always a reason to smile, a reason to feel happy.

And sometimes it might be found in the least expected place (Hailie for sure wasn't expecting to feel better thanks to demons living in the house with her, but hey, it's working😅 ).

Besides, I think it also shows that the world isn't just black and white. There's a little bit of both evil and good and that's what is shown in demons characters. They're not entirely bad, but also, they can't be described as good as well.

Li: True, I got the same message when I read SDS. Your storyline is really inspiring😇 If you have depression issues or going through some fucked up confidence phase in your life, I recommend 'Seven Deadly Sins' to you💋

Ca: I hope I won't be too mainstream, but I'd pick up Lust😊  He's kinda hot, and he can be romantic if he wants😁

Li: Uuuuuh, hot and sexy!😍

Pick one! (Sits in a corner and munches on some pizza🍕)

Ca: Oh no! I love both😍 
But I guess I'd pick pizza.
Moreover, we have the best homemade pizza, I could eat it all the time.

Ca: ohh this is hard, because I love the vampire characters more, but if I was to chose which one I prefer to be, then I guess I'd go with Werewolf. Auuuuuuu🗡
