Chapter 4:
"Well, it's February, and this is the first detention there's been all year," said the school principal. "I'm leaving you all here for two hours alone. Be good." He took one last look at the sixteen students sitting in front of him, and then left, locking the door behind him.
Once he knew he was out of earshot, Adam got up from his seat, walked over to the teacher's desk, and stood on top of it. "Okay, so we're gonna be in here for two hours, and I'm pretty sure principal man is gonna forget we're even in here. The door's locked, and I don't think we should jump out the window, considering we're on the third floor. What are we going to do?"
"Kick down the door!" Rosie exclaimed, jumping out of her seat. "And then go set up a bunch of pranks!"
"Yes!" said Kiona.
"But what if someone hears the door get kicked down?" Tammy asked. "There are tons of stupid clubs going on right now, and most of the teachers are still in school."
Adam jumped down from the desk and sighed. "She's right." Tammy smiled, and he smiled back.
"Who cares? I'm going for it!" Rosie said, walking up to the door. She kicked it down like it was nothing, and then looked around out in the hallway to make sure no one was there. "Wow, the people in our school must be really deaf or something." She laughed. "So, who should we prank first?"
"How about the principal?" suggested Jessie.
"Oh yeah, totally!" Keala said.
The split up to grab supplies around the school, making sure they wouldn't be caught. When they got everything, they met up outside the principal's office, where he was currently in a phone call.
"I'm gonna get closer," Rosie whispered, slowly opening the door and crawling in. She crawled under the desk, which was close enough to not only hear what the principal was saying, but also what the person on the other end was saying. It sounded like he was talking to the Overlord of the World.
"Yes, I realize that, but they're kids. I don't--"
"I don't care if they're kids. They are still potential threats," the dictator said, cutting him off. "Just keep a close eye on them. If anything else outside of normal happens and they're involved, you better let me know. Now I suggest you go check on them. You shouldn't be leaving them alone in a room."
Rosie quickly crawled back out of the room while his back was still turned. When she got out, she said to the others, "Guys, I think the dictator dude is on to us. What if he figures out we were the ones who were at the arcade and killed four of his idiot minions?!"
They heard the principal hang up the phone and turn the door knob. Immediately, they sprinted to the stairs, and went up as quickly and quietly as they could back to the detention room. Hiding all the stuff they had gotten, they sat back in their seats.
"Fuck, what about the door?!" Firefly whisper-yelled.
"Wait, I got a plan," Cry said, snapping his fingers. He led everyone into the classroom across the hallway, where they all sat in the same places they were in at the other room and pretended to look bored.
They heard the principal's footsteps outside the door, and soon, there was the beeping sound when he used his keycard to unlock the door and walk in. "What are you all doing in here?"
"What do you mean?" Jason asked. "We're in detention, aren't we?"
The principal ran a hand through his hair. "Yes, but this isn't the detention room."
"Yeah, you told us to stay in here because the door for the detention room was broken," said Ty.
He sighed. "I could've sworn you were all in the detention room. My mistake. Well, you still have an hour left. I'm going to stay in here for the rest of detention." They all looked at each other and groaned.

Harold sat at his desk and took a deep breath. He looked over to his clock. It was almost midnight. Then he stood up and turned to the guard who stood in the room. "What do you think I should do about this?"
"Wait until they're an actual threat, sir," said the guard. "Right now, they aren't doing anything that could harm you. They're just teenagers, after all."
"I suppose so, but still. I think they're up to something." Just as he said that, his phone rand. He picked it up and said harshly, "Who is this and why are you calling me at midnight?"
After about fifteen minutes of talking, he hung up and looked at the guard. "Bring five Agents in here. I have a...mission for them."
---
The next day in school, every student was called into the auditorium for a school-wide assembly. No one but the staff knew what was going on, but judging by the tone of the vice principal's voice during the morning announcements, it was something bad.
"I'm sure you're all wondering why you've been called here for this assembly," said the principal. "As of this morning, five of our students have been reported missing. We will not release any names yet, but if anyone knows anything at all about these disappearances, please report it. Any information will help. That is all. Please return to your classes."
