The first to move was Gantala. He performed a heavy downward stomp to raise a large chunk of ice out of the ground. His fist glowed as he punches the blue stone, shooting it straight in my direction.

Throwing signs in response, I end with a tiger seal and take a deep breathe before expelling an orb of fire from my lips. My [Fireball] breaks the frozen projectile apart and surrounds the area in a thin mist.

Immediately following that, an arsenal of blue swords fly at me and I jump upwards to avoid them.

Damn, Grunard's ability to create ice swords and manipulating them is super annoying.

Landing on a roof, my hand reaches for the [Iron Sand] scroll in my back pouch. Opening it up summons a wave of metallic sediments, creating a dense barrier between the three bosses and me.

Using my magnetic chakra, I give the black sand the form of an eastern dragon that lunges out to attack Grunard. However, Gantala gets in the way and punches the sand constructs with a glowing strike, breaking my mineral beast apart.

So he uses skills too. Heh, you bald bastard.

My body obstructed by the sand, I activate [Full Cowling 100%], rush at Gantala and clock him in the face two times before spin kicking him in the abdomen, sending the ice fighter flying and separating him from the other two.

So long as they're together, this fight is gonna be a lot harder. Though, it's not like the other two are just going to let me kill their comrade...

Dropping my jutsu, I summon two clones of 5,000 chakra each.

Kazuki : "Keep those two away from me. Use the jutsu scrolls in the [Inventory] if need be"

Clone 2 : "Don't worry, we'll keep them out of your hair"

4 pinkish red orbs that resemble suns, hover around the clone's chest. That's Pakura's scorch jutsu.

Kazuki : "Compared to the zombie bosses, these 3 rely on teamwork instead of straight up power"

Clone 3 : "You better hurry"

I can sense Raiho and Grunard are on the move. I'll leave them to these two. 

Traveling to where I sent Gantala, I see a barrage of ice chunks flying at me. Guess the big guy doesn't have any other ranged attacks.

Oh well, I'm not wasting any time here. Touching my left palm with my pinky, my hand glows a deep crimson color as I thrust my arm forward, shooting a concentrated burst of fire from it.

The [Great Fire Annihilation] burns straight towards Gantala, melting the dungeons' frozen surroundings along with the boss's projectiles. The raging inferno continues and engulfs the boss, scorching him and the nearby area.

What? No, that should've done more damage!

I try to dodge but he was too fast. All I could do is watch as his glowing fist connects with stomach.

My body flies across the village roads, only stopping once I collide and crash into a building a block away. So here I lie, buried underneath clumps of sand and broken furniture.

I should've used [Impervious Armor] on my back to reduce the crash damage.

Pushing off the rubble and dusting myself off, I look out the hole my body flew through. Been a while since I've been tossed like that. Gantala should feel proud, because now I'm pissed.

Using [Full Cowling 100%], I charge at the dark skinned man, grab him by the throat and plow him straight into a large complex, causing the building to collapse. I didn't let any of that bother me, I held my grip and continued to drag the man across the rough terrain.

Seeing his health in the red, with my free hand I summon a [Rasengan] from the seal on my palm and thrust the spiraling blue sphere into Gantala's stomach.

The man's body is repulsed in the direction of my attack and flies straight into a wall, dropping what little remains of his health to zero.

I'll have to test it out later. I need to handle the remaining bosses right now.

Climbing up the nearest building I could find, I see the two clones keeping their distance from one another. One clone opens up a jutsu scroll and repels Raiho with a [Water Dragon Bullet].

Don't really blame them though. They only have 10% of my original HP and 5000 CP, so I'd be overly cautious too. Plus, they're only meant to keep the bosses distracted, not kill them.

My attention switches to Grunard, who's spamming that ice skill so much that Jojo fans would be jealous. The clone doesn't seem to be in any trouble, but that ability is never ending, I really need something powerful enough to one shot him.

I don't want to use [Great Fire Annihilation] because it might kill the clones, and I really don't want to give them any reason to rebel.

Hmm, now that I think about it, there's been something I've always wanted to try. I have [Magnet Release] and [Lightning Release] so it's possible on paper. Fuck it, the worse that could happen is I lose a hand or arm.

I pull out a 50 ryo coin out of my [Inventory], which is made of cupronickel, and head down to the battlefield where small streaks of lightning begin to form around my right hand. I'm about 23 meters away from the boss when I call out to him.

Kazuki : "Yo, Grunard"

The boss turns around to see me raising a sideways clenched fist at him. Electricity dances around my arm and I flick my thumb out, shooting the 50 ryo coin at Mach 3 speed.

The force alone tears Grunard's body apart, spreading his limbs, blood and guts all around the frozen dungeon floor, along with a trail of destruction that followed the projectile's trajectory.

If it were anyone else, they'd be over the moon about wielding such a destructive power. Not me though, all I could think of at that moment....

Clone 3 : "Oh no, I feel so bad for you...."

Dick.

I guess all that's left is Raiho...

Dispersing the clone, I wait until my chakra is fully restored before heading out again. When it is, I summon another clone with half my chakra and we head towards the training field where the boss and clone are.

The last guy was super annoying. While the two clones kept him distracted, I was trying to sneak up on him with [Dustless Bewildering Cover] active and hit him with a jutsu. But the guy kept jumping around.

When he finally stood still long enough, I drove my wind infused hand through his back, ripping past his spine while also decimating his right lung.

The boss slides off my blood soaked hand and the reward screen pulls up soon after.

Been a couple of hours since I entered the dungeon, I should take a break now.

Clicking the exit option, I'm thrown back into my soft bed at the armory. I couldn't really sleep after going through that many battles so I just stayed up reading the rune inscribing guide.

From what I learned, they're pretty much like enchantments in Skyrim, except I can add as many as I want, so long as there is space and they're not the same rune.

To do that I need a magic tool, which is crafted from magic stones, and depending on the type of stone used to make the tool, determines the amount of charge it has.

Weak = 300 Charge
Common = 1000 Charge
Great = 2000 Charge
Powerful = 5000 Charge
Ultimate = 10,000 Charge

Charge is pretty much the durability/cost of the tool and will break once it drops to 0. Then comes the cost of enchanting....

Minor Rune = 100 Charge Cost
Major Rune = 500 Charge Cost
Superior Rune = 2000 Charge Cost
Legendary Rune = 5000 Charge Cost

So if I inscribe Zombie Bane, which is a major rune, to my sword using a great magic tool the remaining durability of that tool would be 1500. I would still be able to use it 3 more times before the tool breaks.

There are also the different effects a rune provides depending on the targeted item. Zombie bane on a weapon makes it do more damage to undead. Armor/clothing reduces damage taken from undead. Finally, items that don't fit in either of the previous categories produce a kind of repellent that keeps undead away.

With this kind of ability, it'll make dealing with the zombies easier. Though I wonder, would it work on reanimated shinobi? It'll be a while before I can test that out.

Anyway, as soon as the sun came up I went out for a walk. Not many people out and about this early in the morning, so it's a great time to explore my thoughts for a bit. Hmm?

The spy is acting casual while dressed in pretty standard civilian clothing. If I didn't have my powers, there's no way I would've pegged him for a spy.

This guy's acting skills are pretty top notch, but if he has any hidden friends I can't detect, they'll know I can point them out if I act now. I'll just memorize his chakra and continue on my way.

Once I'm about 200ft/61m away, the guy starts to move. That's when I sense his chakra flow shift for a second. So he's changed faces now, huh.

Going around a corner, I go invisible and wait for the guy to come into view. When he does, I slap the suppression seal on his chest. The spy dropped like a sack of potatoes and I quickly encase him with my sand.

It wraps around him like a cocoon, leaving only his fake face exposed. If only this was around the time of the Uchiha massacre, I could've used this as a bargaining chip and expose the snake, but he'll either run away like a coward or the elders would just defend him.

There's nothing in it for me from either option so I'll just hold him prisoner and pick at his brain. Besides, he's got that curse mark on his tongue, it'll be an interesting seal to add to my arsenal.

Kazuki : 'Looks like the other nations are getting curious about me'

Shukaku : 'A spy? Wouldn't it have been safer to warn others?'

Kazuki : 'That'll give me a bunch of paperwork to do. Plus, I captured the guy without witnesses, so I don't think I need to inform Rasa about this. Besides, if security tightens, there will be less people to kill'

And less experience for me.

Shukaku : 'Oh I see. Kukuku'

I place the sealed agent into my [Inventory] for later study. Now that I've got Danzo's interest, my life's about to be a whole lot complicated.

Sounds like a fun time....

3rd POV

At the same time, Danzo was not the only person interested in the One Tail host. At the Hokage's office, Hiruzen is seen speaking with his former student, Jiraiya.

Hiruzen : "Apologies for making you come on such short notice"

Jiraiya : "Don't worry about it, felt it was about time I drop in for a visit. So what do you got for me? Need information about someone?"

Hiruzen : "Yes. In Suna, there is a shinobi named Kazuki Inei, he recently participated in the chūnin exams and performed the [Rasengan] on one of the participants"

Hearing that a foreign shinobi possesses an A-rank jutsu created by his pupil, Jiraiya listened intently to what his former teacher had to say.

Hiruzen : "I also learned that he claims to have dreams about the future"

Jiraiya  : "About the future? What did he see?"

Hiruzen : "During the peace treaty signing with Kumogakure, their Head Ninja would attempt to kidnap the Heiress, Hinata Hyūga. Although skeptical about the prediction, Hiashi was on guard and he himself saw over Hinata while she slept"

Jiraiya : "And what happened? Was the prediction true or not?"

Third Hokage takes a deep puff of his pipe and slowly exhales the smoke from his lips.

Hiruzen : "Indeed it was. And thanks to him, we managed to prevent another war from breaking out"

Jiraiya : 'Impossible. To think that a shinobi possesses the power to see the future. It's a very dangerous ability to have, especially when power hungry monsters like Orochimaru are roaming the world. Wait, Kazuki Inei?'

Jiraiya : "I've actually heard that name before, Sensei. I was in the Land of Water when a couple of Kiri shinobi were on a drunken rant. Heh, they were badmouthing the kid real bad"

The toad sage chuckles for a few moments before becoming serious.

Jiraiya : "That's when I decided to do my own little investigation and found out that kid killed over 100 chūnin from Kiri and a Swordsman of the Mist, Raiga Kurosuki"

Hiruzen then remembers what Rasa told him about the jinchūriki.

"Underestimating that child is a deadly mistake. Despite his age, he's already taken the lives of over 100 shinobi"

Hiruzen : 'To think we allowed someone so dangerous to participate in an exam for genin. If we had learned this beforehand, maybe Iruka's friend would still be alive'

Jiraiya : "So what do you want me to do?"

Stuffing his pipe with more tobacco, Hiruzen takes a long puff and leans back in his chair.

~2 Years Later~

At the Armory, a now 7 year old Shira is seen sparing with Pakura. Watching in the distance is Maki, her cheeks puffed up and eyes gleaming with jealousy.

Shira : "I apologize for bothering you again, Pakura-san"

Pakura : "I've already told you, Shira. I don't mind you asking me for sparing lessons. Kazuki told me about your potential and I would be lying if I said I'm not curious to see how you'll turn out"

Maki : 'Damn you, Kazuki! Pakura-sensei should be training me right now! You may be a Chūnin, but I'll be one in a couple of weeks!'

When the topic of the One Tail jinchūriki came up, Shira decided to ask Pakura a question.

Shira : "Speaking of Kazuki-sensei, are there any updates about his mission? He's been gone for five months now"

Pakura : "Unfortunately, his mission is an A-rank so I can't disclose any information, all I can say is that he received an extension"

Kazuki POV

Nadare : "No, please don't!"

I bring my sword down, cutting the Yuki shinobi's head off with one clean swipe.

Honestly, even with chakra armour, I'm surprised at how much trouble these guys gave Kakashi.

I'm currently in the Land of Snow on a A-rank bodyguard mission. I've been assigned to protect the daughter of a Daimyo, one Koyuki Kazahana.

A council member from the Land of Snow was at the chūnin exams in Konoha and was impressed at the way I manhandled my opponents. Apparently, when they couldn't get ahold of Kakashi, who was on another mission at the time, they asked for me instead.

Dotō didn't oppose to me being Lady Kazahana's guard. Guess he must've thought that a child like me wouldn't be able to interfere with his plans.

Oh how wrong he was....

While the armor does protect the user from chakra based attacks, it doesn't shield them from heavy physical attacks. All it took was a single hit from [Full Cowling 100%], and they didn't stand a chance.

Plus, they were so arrogant and dependent on the armor that their taijutsu skills were lacking. Even if they threw their ice monstrosities at me, I'd break them to bits and charge ahead, really showing everyone the difference in our strengths.

I took the lives of so many Yuki shinobi that I leveled up three times during my time here. The only people I spared were those that surrendered and Dotō himself. I left them in the hands of the Daimyo.

I wanted to kill them for the EXP, but the Daimyo insisted they be kept alive and put on trial. He's the boss so I couldn't really refuse....

I was also asked to extend the mission until they flush out any remaining rebels, leaving me to converse with the princess most of the time.

Ever since I saved her and her father's life, Koyuki's been more open with me. I wonder if she has a crush on me. I mean, she does looks pretty good when she grows up so maybe.

Nah, I'm not old enough to worry about relationships. Yet...

About four weeks later, my mission came to an end and I was set to return to Suna. At the gates of Kazahana castle, Lord Sōsetsu and his daughter came to see me off.

Sōsetsu : "I suppose this is where we part ways. If it wasn't for you, my friends and family would've been cut down by my selfish brother. As Daimyo of the Land of Snow, I sincerely thank you"

Kazuki : "Not a problem, it's what we ninja do. If you don't mind me asking, what's going to happen to him?"

Sōsetsu : "Most likely, imprisonment for life. Even if he did try to kill me, I don't have the heart to order my own sibling's execution. I refuse to stoop to his level"

Kazuki : "I see. Well then, I'll be on my way-"

Koyuki : "Um...*blushes* Are you ever gonna visit and tell me more stories?"

Kazuki : "I don't know. The life of a shinobi is full of work, especially a desperate village like Sunagakure, which takes every job it can get"

Koyuki : "Then...then can't you quit being a ninja and stay here? If you stay, you can do whatever you want and make good money being my bodyguard"

Kazuki : "*chuckles* Sorry, but if I abandon my village, it'll only bring trouble to your father and his people"

The little girl eyes the ground sadly but her father puts a hand on her shoulder and gives her a smile.

Koyuki : "Don't worry, we'll get to see him again real soon. I hear Sunagakure is holding the chūnin exams next month and I'll be sure to ask that Kazuki escort us through the village"

This news makes the little girl smile and I nod my head, confirming this to be true. If Kiri wasn't in the middle of a civil war and Hanzo wasn't a paranoid bastard, Takigakure would've been the next host.

Not that I'm complaining. I just want to get this mission out of the way already....

It's been 4 years since I obtained this quest. My books have definitely played a major role in Suna's economy, much to the Council's dismay. Due to my financial contributions, life in the village has improved dramatically and those damn old geezers hate to admit it.

Meh, not like I did any of that for their approval. I needed money and this was the best way to secure a stable income in a poor village.

Anyway....

Sōsetsu : "That reminds me, how do you plan on returning home? Would you like to have my naval guards escort you home?"

Kazuki : "Nah, I've got my own transportation"

Showing off the Sun Amulet around my neck, I click the two mechanism's on either side of the sphere and watch as a stream of gold dust leaks out of it. The dust accumulates in the air and ignites to life, taking the form of a phoenix completely composed of fire.

Sōsetsu and Koyuki are stunned at the sight of this radiant and mystical creature standing before them. Nobody ever expects that such a beast would be held inside a small capsule hanging around my neck.

Looking around, all the snow in the nearby area had melted away. I can only imagine the number of ice sheets that'll form after I leave.

Koyuki : "Wow..... it's so pretty"

Kazuki : "He is, isn't he. His name is Ra"

Upon hearing his name, Ra lets out a shrill roar, not the kind of sound you'd expect from a bird.

While he does look radiant, he's a god damn leech. Even after unlocking the amulet, this thing continues to take half my experience. Only difference is, he has stats and can fight for me.

It's a pretty good base ingredient in alchemy, especially in health regenerating potions, which I've managed to only make one of.

And this was only brewed from simple ingredients. I can only imagine the healing capabilities of a healing potion made from high ranking items.

While it is powerful, I've opted to use it only during an emergency, like if I'm on the brink of death or something. It might come in hand when I fight Pain or any other member of the Akatsuki.

Anyway, back to reality. I hop aboard my ride and give the father and daughter one final wave before Ra takes to the sky. I turn around to see the pair slowly fade away, but then I hear...

Koyuki : "Kazuki! I love you!"

Ahh, I don't know how to react to that...

Sure I saved her life and told her a bunch of stories but I never did anything to show romantic interest. Sigh... I'm sure she'll get over me in a couple of years.

After flying for a few hours and making sure no one was around, I pat Ra on the back twice, signaling him to stop. He does so and I place one hand on the mountable beast, then press two fingers to my forehead.

Kazuki : "Instant Transmission!"

Ra and I are then transported to a sealed off underground cave in the Land of Wind, about 22 miles northwest of Sunagakure. It's mainly used as cover from sandstorms.

Activating my [Kurofūgan], I'm able to peer through the false wall to read the seals on the other side. Someone was here a few days ago, but the seals tell me there is no one inside right now.

With the all clear, I place my palm against the false wall, making the earth shift to reveal a pathway. I can see light coming from the cave's entrance.

Kazuki : "*looks at Ra* Go outside and scout, I'll be right behind you"

The blazing bird nods and exits the cave. It caws twice, meaning there are no people nearby.

Turning around to rebuild the false wall, I look down at the ground to see a kunai imbedded into a stone. On the handle, there is a glowing line of kanji written on it.

Kunai (Flying Thunder God Seal)

Deactivating my eyes, the writing disappears and it looks like any other kunai.

I smirk and seal my hideaway, making extra sure that no observant shinobi would be able to point it out.

So glad I decided to save up my money, even though I lost my chance at buying the [Rinnegan]. If it's anything like the one adult Sasuke has, there is no way I'd be able to hide it. Pain would also use it as incentive to come for me earlier.

Two gods in one era? Nah, he wouldn't like that one bit.

Now then, guess I should get back to the village. I ride the rest of the way to Suna, landing in front of the north gate to greet the guard.

Kazuki : "Yo, how it do?"

Baki : "Kazuki, you're back already? We received word that you'd be returning in a week"

Kazuki : "I decided to head out a couple hours after the message was sent. Seemed Ra wanted to see if it can beat the carrier's return time"

Baki : "Ah yes, your mount..."

When I unlocked the Sun Amulet, I just so happened to be in the Kazekage's office. Ra sprang out of his cage and put on quite the spectacle for those lucky enough to be around at the time.

Since he didn't possess any chakra, which I didn't know at the time, he was able to bypass my barrier and fly straight out the village to scour the world. News quickly spread among the many villages about a majestic creature soaring through the sky.

After about an hour of being gone, he returned to Suna and proceeds to publicly display bowing his head to me. Then a new window pulled up.

I didn't really have to think long, when I saw his form it was obvious what his name was going to be. Laying my hand flat on his head, I utter his name.

Kazuki : "You will be, Ra, named after the sun god"

He must've really liked it because he let out a loud shrill before returning to his capsule. Afterwards, I didn't feel like answering any questions involving Ra so I went straight home, ignoring the numerous summons sent to my house.

Back with Baki, I'm about to walk through the gate when the cyclops raises an arm to stop me.

Baki : "Identification."

I just stare at the man bewildered.

Who else in the world rides a Phoenix and talks like me? Looks like I have to bring up past trauma.

Kazuki : "I poked your eye when I was a baby"

The man flinches at the memory, then he frowns.

Baki : "It's you. Go on in"

Kazuki : "Thanks. *suddenly stops* That reminds me, have I had any visitors looking for me?"

Baki : "Master Jiraiya was here 3 weeks ago. He left a message saying he'd like to discuss something with you"

Kazuki : "Sigh...that guy just doesn't give up, does he?"

For whatever reason, Jiraiya has been trying to gather information about me. Since our villages are allied, he's allowed to stay for a night, under heavy surveillance, before being asked to leave.

I've caught him six times trying to listen in on my conversations and follow me home.

During a trip to the local market, I saw him smooth talking an elderly woman who runs a food stand I frequent. When I heard my name come up, I just said...

Kazuki : "HELLO MASTER JIRAIYA FROM KONOHAGAKURE. WHAT IS A SANNIN AND AN EXPERT IN ESPIONAGE DOING IN OUR VILLAGE?"

I make my way through the entrance and set my eyes on the village, which I haven't seen in over 5 months. First thing I gotta do, report that my mission is complete.

Entering the Kazekage's building, I'm told by the receptionist that Rasa is in a council meeting.

I don't got time for that. Using the sand to create a floating platform, I go through the office window, walk towards the meeting room and throw open the council room doors.

Kazuki : "Wazzup!"

The room falls silent. At the sight of me, Rasa lets out an annoyed sigh and pinches the bridge of his nose.

Rasa : "We are in the middle of a meeting. Go wait in my office!"

Kazuki : "I'm tired and I want to go to bed soon, stopping a rebellion tires a person out"

Those words drew Rasa's attention, along with the other council members. Letting out another sigh, Rasa sets aside a few papers and looks straight at me.

Rasa : "Fine then, this can wait. Report everything during your mission"

I then proceed to give a quick recap of my mission, explaining how I took out the rebel forces, dealt with their chakra armour and how I was confessed to by the princess.

I didn't need to report the last bit, I just wanted to flex.

Kazuki : "Lord Sōsetsu also wrote a report to confirm that everything I just explained is true"

I pass the scroll and after skimming through it, Rasa nods his head and rolls it back up.

Rasa : "Well done on your mission, you've once again done an excellent service for Suna"
