The world around me started to collapse. Cracks emitting white light fill the temple walls and break away, blinding my vision. The once sandy and dark temple had been replaced with a massive forest full of lush greenery.

Holy crap, I was really brought to an instant dungeon.

Kazuki : 'Hey Shukaku you seeing this?'

Kazuki : 'Shukaku?'

Oh that's right his mind shuts down when I'm doing anything involving the system. Guess I'm by myself in here.

I take my first step and...

Holy shit that snore was loud. And if its loud then...

Of course the first enemy I run into is the boss! This is because I didn't increase my luck at all.

Just need to back up....slow and easy-

The boss's eyes open slowly, scanning the forest floor for whatever woke it up. Its pupil slits upon landing on me and it lets out a growl that increases in volume before turning into a loud roar.

I hear the plants shuffling around us and a bunch of smaller Jagras pop up, surrounding me and hissing loudly.

Shit! Its one of those bosses. Got minions to help it fight, I hate gankers! The smaller bunch begin to close in on me, but the boss snarls loudly getting them to back off. It wants first dibs.

I better get out of here before I'm eaten alive.

[You cannot exit dungeon during combat!]

Son of a bitch. I don't know what to do, what can I do? I'm only 4 years old!

Great Jagras suddenly lunges at me with its jaws wide open, looking to swallow me whole. Just before its mouth snaps down on me, I open up the inventory screen and pull out a wooden cabinet. I stole it from home when Jojao slept, just pushed it right into my inventory screen.

Some of the wood snaps but manages to stop the boss's bite. Now I pull out Masaru and run in the opposite direction.

While the biggest is distracted, the smaller ones chase after me. I run and jump through several vines, small enough to keep the boss out but not its minions who are still on me.

Kazuki : 'I need to lose these guys-'

One jumps on my back and drops me to the floor, biting into my right shoulder and holding my head down with its front claws.

I can feel it ripping into my flesh. I need to do something right now. It's health is low so it shouldn't have high strength like I do!

I push myself off the ground with all my strength and knock the Jagras off my back. While its down I plunge my blade down on its neck and twist it, staining my shirt with little bits of blood.

Holy shit, I just killed something....why don't I feel bad for it? I've only ever practiced stabbing on my pillow, but this is a living creature with flesh and blood. Wait, I don't have time for questions like this. I need to get out now!

I don't know how far the others are so I need to hurry. It was smart to steal this weapon before leaving home, even though Jojao's an ass, he's got a good taste in weapons.

Two more had just arrived and looked angry at the sight of their dead friend. Damn my absent mind! My shoulder is still throbbing from the first one, this ain't looking good.

Is a minute really this long? My shoulder feels a bit better, but it still hurts to move. I hold Masaru with my left arm and point it at the two.

Kazuki : "You wanna end up like your friend? Come at me then..."

I dash and circle around a large tree trunk with my sword at the ready. One Jagras pops up and I thrust Masaru forward, stabbing the Jagras through the torso. It violently shrieks and jumps away with the blade still embedded.

Well shit. The second Jagras lunges at me and I pull out one of mom's kunai. The beast lands on the blade and I shove it off.

A kunai only deals 5 damage, but during a critical hit it deals five times that rather than the normal three.

The Jagras claws at its torso, looking to remove the blade but I pull out another one and drive it straight through its head. It dies and collapses on the ground completely motionless.

Twice the experience? The other one must've of died then. I collect the kunai and follow the first Jagras's blood trail. I find it dead leaning against a massive tree root sticking out of the ground.

I grab Masaru, but see plants shuffling in the distance. They're still tracking me, I need to lose them now!

3rd POV

A pair of Jagras walk out of the treeline and discover their dead comrades. Sniffing the air, they follow Kazuki scent's and it leads them to a large patch of mud. The two look around confused as the trail ends there.

Buried beneath the mud, a pair of eyes suddenly open and a kunai goes right through a level seven Jagras's neck. Kazuki then twists the blade and rips open the monster's jugular. 

Kazuki POV

Kazuki : "Ah shit..."

It jumps at me and I use my forearm to block a bite to the neck. The Jagras thrashes wildly as I try to stab it off but it lets go and jumps back.

So this thing is learning not to get close. Smart boy. I try to back away, the Jagras steps closer. It ain't letting me escape and if I take too long back up might come.

I need to finish this. I toss the kunai in my hand and it strafes to the right before lunging at me again. Idiot.

Kazuki : "Still can't believe mom had something like this hidden away, she really shouldn't have let me crawl around unsupervised"

We leave the temple and head straight for the Academy here in Suna. It was located near the Kazekage's office and I could've sworn I saw him looking at me from his office.

Beketsu : "This is where you will be studying and training to be a ninja. School hours are 8am to 4pm. There are also extra courses you can take depending on the kind of ninja you want to be. There are 4 groups of ninja within Sunagakure the first would be the Puppet Brigade which just as the name implies the use of puppets and hidden weapons"

Beketsu : "Then comes the Fan Corps, they mainly consist of wind nature shinobi wielding giant fans, so unless you have an affinity for wind don't sign up. Next is the Sealing Company who specialize in the sealing arts, their name to fame is the [Blinding Cloth Technique] developed right here in Suna"

Beketsu : "And the last one would just be a waste of time explaining"

Kazuki : "And why's that?"

Beketsu : "Because they involve healing people. A monster such as yourself wouldn't care about the lives of others, as I said just a waste of time"

Sheesh...

Beketsu : "Furthermore, you will return to the house at 6pm and sleep at 8pm, if you are even a minute late I will report it to Lord Kazekage and you'll be punished. You will also abide by my house rules, you will clean any dishes you use, wash your own clothes and cook your own food. Breaking or refusing to follow these rules will result in you being sent straight to the temple"

Hardass. Then again, I don't need to eat so I won't be cleaning any dishes.

Kazuki : "Is that all?"

Beketsu : "No, since you are technically on your own you are eligible for the monthly stipend Lord Fourth has issued for orphaned children attending the academy. Since your mother is dead and father crippled, you'll be given 1000 Ryo a month for expenses. I will be buying food on a weekly basis so if you run out you'll have to spend your own money"

Okay, so I'll have to take some stuff as to not look suspicious. 1000 Ryo a month can really help, plus even if I run out I can earn more in the dungeon. Speaking of the dungeon...

Kazuki : "Say Becky, will the Academy be handling my combat skills?"

Beketsu : "Grr, I told you not to call me that. To answer your question yes, but you will have to complete the general classes before moving on to ninja courses. At the end of the year, all students in the general class will take a test to determine whether or not they can advance. Should you fail you'll be held back a year"

Kazuki : "Guess that means I'll have to pass on my first try"

Beketsu : "Pfft, yeah right. Only the truly gifted pass on their first try"

So its basically a mission to prove him wrong, I like it. After our discussion ended, he leads me down the road to a giant ant mound. Kind of reminds me of the complex I used to live in as a baby.

I'm gonna live with Becky on the second floor in his 2 room apartment. I tried asking him what he did during his fighting days but he wouldn't answer. My room only had a bed and a dresser so I put whatever I had away and met Beck in the living room.

Beketsu : "School starts next week, you better prepare for it"

Kazuki : "Aren't the teachers gonna discriminate me for being a Jinchūriki?"

Beketsu : "Lord Fourth has already alerted the Academy, they will be fair or suffer severe punishment"

That still ain't gonna stop someone from trying. I need to find a way to back up my paperwork just in case.

During the week preparation, I practiced [Calligraphy] to learn sealing in the future. In order to practice seals I have to properly write kanji with black ink and paper.

I used my stipend money to buy the material, also bought it for twice the price because people are dicks. During the only time I had to myself I spent it trying to manipulate sand. I asked Shukaku for tips but the Tanuki didn't budge. Said it would make me self reliant. Whatever.

All I learned was how to pour my chakra into the sand and create a wall with it. It was difficult because of the high cost but I finally managed to do it.

I've been trying to experiment with Automatic Sand Defense but its been difficult. I don't understand chakra enough to create such a complicated skill. Might need to practice sand manipulation in the dungeon. Already got pounds of sand ready in my inventory for that day.

When the day came to enter the Academy, I was met with immediate hostility from parents dropping off their kids in the courtyard. Their looks always bothered me, the way they judge me before even getting to know me. Its enough to make me wanna leave.

3rd POV

As the parents watch Kazuki enter the Academy, they spoke to one another in hushed tones.

Blonde Female : "What's he doing here?"

Ginger Haired Female : "What could Lord Kazekage be thinking allowing him to enroll?"

Red Haired Male : "He's just gonna go crazy sooner or later, he should've stayed locked up"

One new student overheard the adults chatter and stares at the Jinchūriki curiously.

Why is everyone scared of him? He hasn't done anything, so why do they treat him like he did? These were questions she asked when her mother told her to stay away from a boy fitting his description.

Aboa : "But why mommy? Why are you scared of him?"

Hiragi : "Because there's a monster living inside him, he's very dangerous"

Aboa : "But-"

Beketsu : "Listen to your mother Aboa, she knows best"

Kazuki's bodyguard had appeared out of nowhere and stood beside his daughter Hiragi.

Aboa : "But you're watching him Grandpa, can't you tell me if he's good or not?"

Beketsu : "I am a ninja of Suna, I worry only about the dangers to my home and family. That boy is a threat to both"

The red haired girl looks unsatisfied with that answer and looks at her grandfather angrily. He's unfazed and motions for her to hurry as class is about to begin.

She does so but just before passing the school entrance an older girl pushes her to the side. Aboa falls down and looks up at her assailant. It was a girl with long black hair and red eyes. She looked to be about 2 years older than the downed girl.

Kayda : "Move it runt"

Her bully enters the academy and Aboa picks herself up, muttering under her breath about the girl. She meets a guide waiting a couple feet away from the entrance. He motions for Aboa to come and she does.

Guide : "Your name?"

Aboa : "Aboa Masuyo"

The guide glances down at a clipboard and looks back at Aboa.

Guide : "You'll be in class 204"

She thanks the man and goes to her assigned classroom. She locates it and opens the door to find half the classroom full.

She scans the room and finds the boy her parents warned her about sitting in seat 9. The desks around him were empty except for seat 18. The one sitting behind the boy is the girl who pushed her down in front of the academy.

Kazuki POV

Guess everyone was warned about me. As soon as I came into class everybody either glared at me or had looks of fear. People really don't want to make it easy for me.

Well there's that one girl behind me who didn't even care and just took a seat. I think she fell asleep...yup she did.

Out of anyone's eye, I pull out a notepad from my inventory and wait for the teacher to arrive. The doors open again and a red haired girl enters.

Aboa Masuyo

I didn't give her a second glance. Reading her last name however did make me question where I heard it before. I think it was somewhere in the marketplace.

Doesn't really matter I suppose, she probably hasn't been warned about me. That's why her rep is 0 at the moment. I'm just waiting for it to hop to -50 by the next day.

Imagine my surprise when she decided to sit next to me. I heard the entire class gasp the moment she sat down.

Aboa : "Hi"

Kazuki : "Hello"

Aboa : "What's your name?"

Kazuki : "Kazuki Inei"

Aboa : "I'm Aboa Masuyo"

Kazuki : "Masuyo....where have I heard that name before?"

The red head suddenly looks down at her fingers, probably asked her an inappropriate question.

Aboa : "My daddy owns a big shop in the market with our last name. We sell exotic items from around the world"

Oh, she's talking about Masuyo Traders. I tried going in there once to buy material but they put a sign out front saying no monsters. It had a picture of Shukaku drawn on it with a giant red x crossing it out.

The Tanuki did not like that one bit. I learned a lot of new swears that day and promised to use them whenever I can.

Kazuki : "Oh that shop....yeah I know it. They didn't have what I wanted so I don't really care"

Aboa : "Can I ask you a question Kazuki?"

Kazuki : "What is it?"

Aboa : "Why are people scared of you. Mommy and grandpa say there's a monster inside of you and that you're dangerous..."

Guess she wants to understand why everyone hates me. She's too young to know the power of Shukaku and what he's capable of. This is a sign of early maturity, she's not believing everything people say without proof.

If it was Gaara, she'd see him as a monster for killing people at random. Since I don't lose control of my powers and hurt anyone, she wants to learn for herself what kind of person I am.

Kazuki : "You're parents are wrong. Shukaku isn't a monster"

Aboa : "Shukaku?"

Kazuki : "That is his name, he doesn't like being called monster and I don't like it either. People only call me a monster because they don't understand me-"

I would've gone further but the teacher appeared in front of the board, surrounded by a small cloud of smoke. He had short black spiky hair and blue-green eyes. He wore Suna's standard ninja outfit with his forehead protector shining brightly.

Reading the text above his head, I identify his name and level.

My reputation is at 0 with this one too? He's a chūnin and a teacher of the Academy, so he should know about me and Shukaku. Why doesn't he hate me though?

Subaru : "Good morning class, my name is Subaru and I'll be your general education teacher for the year"

One kid decided to raise his hand and ask a question.

Random Kid 1 : "Subaru-sensei, when are we gonna do cool ninja stuff?"

Subaru : "Should you pass the end of the year exam with a 70% next year, you'll be sent to the more advanced subjects"

Another kid raises his hand, this one looked to be a year older than me.

Random Kid 2 : "Um sensei, why wasn't there a speech from the Kazekage this year?"

Subaru : "There are only 7 new students this year, so the Academy saw it as wasting Lord Kazekage's time"

Only 7? But there are more than 20 students here.

Subaru : "Some of you are probably asking if there are only 7 new students why is the class almost full? Well some of the older students didn't pass the general exams and have been held back a year to relearn the material"

Oh so that's why some of the kids are older than me. After a few more questions, Subaru started to explain what we'll be studying this year.

LONELY PUPPET PART 2!?! OH NO!!!

1 Hour Later

Since we didn't have paper yet, Subaru skipped writing and math to do history. We read about how Suna was rallied under the First Kazekage Reto.

Using his mastery over wind release to conquer all clans in the land, he was eventually chosen to become the first Kazekage. He was assassinated at the age of 58 and passed the hat down to Shamon the second Kazekage.

When free period came, we were given an hour to do anything we like. Most went outside to chat or play but I chose to stay in my seat and do my own thing. The girl from before Aoba, had decided to sit next to me during this time.

Aboa : "Aren't you going to eat?"

Kazuki : "I'm not hungry right now, I'll eat later"

Aboa : "What are you doing right now?"

Kazuki : "I'm writing a story, I can't find one I like so I decided to do my own"

Aboa : "You're own story? What's it about?"

Kazuki : "A story about a group of assassins using powerful weapons to overthrow a corrupt kingdom. It's pretty violent"

Aboa : "Can I read it?"

Kazuki : "No, I'm not done with it. I'll give you a copy once I finish"

The reason I decided to write stories from my world is because the literature here is mostly the same. You know honor, princesses and the importance of strength. I spent most of my childhood reading these books and I got bored of it after some time.

My stories might not be special but meh, it helps me practice [Calligraphy] and its better than anything I read these days.

When free period ended, Geography followed. Sabaru put up a map of the Land of Wind and I analyzed every landmark. I spotted the Demon Desert, Castle of Wind, Crimson Sea and the capital city Aero where the Daimyo lives.

All that's left is Physical Education. This is gonna be my most beneficial subject. I haven't been able to focus on my physical stats during lock up for obvious reasons. Guards said the pattering of my feet was too annoying blah blah blah. Push ups in soft sand is also hard.

We were told to run around the track for 30 minutes straight, anyone walking would have to do push ups, minute planks or sit ups.

I ran the entire lesson but one student went over the top. She had overlapped me at least twice and wasn't breathing as heavily as the others. She's the girl sitting behind me in class.

That explains why she sat near me without a care. I didn't really notice her before because....well she didn't care about me so... Either way, her physical stats are way higher than mine. Seeing as she's two years older than me that should be a given.

However...

Random Student 1 : "Who is she? She's really good"

Random Student 2 : "That's Kayda, she's been in the general courses for two years. She might be strong but she's dumb and bullies anyone who tries to get ahead of her"

Random Student 1 : "So I can't graduate early or she'll do bad stuff to me?"

Random Student 2 : "She'll make your life hell if you try to pass, that's why so many of us are still here"

Looks like I found a road block on my path to success. If this girl thinks she can get in my way, I'll break every bone in her body.

3 Months Later

Fall is just about to turn into winter and its time for the end of the semester exam. During my time, Aboa and I became friends. She didn't like that I was alone for no reason and wanted to get to know me. I didn't mind it, having a non-tanuki-powerhouse as a friend made it easier to cope.

Becky had demanded I stay away from his granddaughter, but I told him the Academy is not his house so nah. I knew he couldn't do anything but his Rep went up to -90. Need to get out of the house as soon as I can.

The exam itself wasn't that difficult. Mostly just questions about what we learned over the last 3 months. The day after the exam the top scores were posted on the board.

Fall Semester Exam Results

If the fifth best score can only get 80%, no wonder the Daimyo cut Suna's funding.

That same day, I noticed people looking confused as to why I got a perfect score and not their kid. Some say I cheated or used Shukaku's power but Subaru explained I was the most studious child he's ever met and knows I wouldn't cheat.

Still don't know why he doesn't hate me. Might need to ask him myself. 

Due to my high marks, my rep with Aboa increased to 24 but Kayda's went right to -30. Aboa and I are in her sights now, but I won't let her do anything to us.

Our first confrontation...

3rd POV

Kazuki and Aboa are strolling through the halls of the Academy, carrying history books for later exams. The bully Kayda had seen them and walked right up to the pair, slapping the books out of Kazuki's hands just as they crossed paths.

Kayda : "Oops, my hand slipped"

Aboa : "Hey! That's mean, why would you do that?"

Kayda : "Shut up little girl!"

She made the mistake of turning her back against Kazuki. He had extended his leg out behind hers and pulled on Kayda's collar, bringing the girl down. She hit the ground harder than a fat kid on a jungle gym.

Kazuki : "Oops, my hand slipped"

The sound of the impact brought the attention of a teacher who separated them and demanded answers. Kazuki explained the bullying with Aboa backing it up. Kayda got detention and her rep with Kazuki went to -40.

Kazuki POV

The next day, Subaru asked everyone to talk about their dreams. Don't know where this is going but I'm up for it.

Some said they wanted to be a cool shinobi and others wanted to be the Kazekage. When Aboa stood up she said...

Aboa : "I want to become a hero kunoichi like Pakura"

Subaru : "Pakura is an amazing Kunoichi, she's a fine role model. Now then, what about you Kazuki?"

I stood up and said loudly...

Kazuki : "I'm going to become Sunagakure's First God of Shinobi, one that even surpasses Hashirama Senju of Konoha"

The class looks surprised at my reply and Subaru smiles at me.

Subaru : "That's quite the dream Kazuki, if that's what you want to do you'll need to work really hard"

I cross my arms and smile at Subaru as the mission pops up in front of me.
