Volume 1 {Chapter 11: Coastal Chaos 2}
Y/N sighed across the counter, reenacting the events that transpired hours ago in his mind
He wished he didn't have to scream at them and he certainly didn't want to make them stand out but with all that bickering on who's right and wrong practically made him... snap. Blake defending a fellow Faunus from facing justice and Weiss judging people based on their worst actions were all childish and stupid to him.
Defending for the Faunus is good and all, as well as not judging a person by their bad qualities but with how narrow-minded they were, he had to put a stop to it.
Now he had to apologize to both Weiss and Blake for what he said.
Even if you are right?
The {Demon}'s voice echoed in his head and sighed once more. 'It doesn't matter on who is right or wrong, what I said hurt their feelings.'
Hmph, it seems you are quite adamant about your goals. Do as you wish...
...
'What's wrong?'
It appears I sense another.
''Another?' Like Akechi?'
You may have already met him.
And with that, it left with another mysterious clue.
'Another Persona User? Or an old enemy?' Perhaps from other worlds, he has seen? Or his bullshit story of a 'Lost Boy' is, somehow real, and someone is out for him.
'I'll have to start preparing for them. Don't want to be dead-weight or dead.' Y/N thought to himself, preparing to train harder than before. Normal Grimm isn't cutting it anymore.
Sighing, Y/N felt a bit bored now. 'Now what do I do? Guess I can just... check my inventory?'

Y/N was a bit surprised to see a more organized version of his {INVENTORY} appear but it was a welcoming sight to see. He had always thought he should be the one to do it since it remained the same list every time he checked so Y/N will just accept it anytime.
Hearing a familiar jingle, Y/N faced ahead with a small smile. "Welcome to Monty's-" He stopped himself when he saw a familiar face with black as her main color. "Blake?"
"...Hi, Y/N."
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Setting down his cup filled tea, Y/N nodded her situation. "So, why come to me? I'm sure there are a few hotels still up nearby."
Blake merely shook her head from the suggestion. "They might tell on me. And I don't feel like going to one especially at this hour." She looked up to Y/N with a pleading look. "Please, let me stay the night. I promise I'll leave tomorrow."
Sighing through his nose, Y/N thought back on how it all happened.
After his outburst, Weiss gave her opinion about it and only added salt to the wound and Blake countered back. They continued arguing, even in their dorm as Ruby and Yang tried to stop it.
Weiss then basically called out to Blake about being a fanatic about the White Fang and Blake accidentally went for a low-blow against Weiss and fled.
Which led to her being here, at the attic of Monty's since it had the space to handle one person living here, sipping on tea made by Y/N.
"... Alright." Y/N nodded but looked at Blake with a serious look. "On one condition."
Blake hesitated a bit from the look Y/N gave but nodded. "Why are you defending the White Fang?" She shrunk at the question Y/N gave and looked at his eyes... It seemed he was serious about it.
"Why do you want to know?"
"Your attitude back then, when that Monkey Faunus boarded that ship and fled. Why are you so adamant to protect him? You know that is illegal, so why?" Even if Y/N knows why he wants to hear it from her own mouth.
Blake awkwardly shuffled from her seat when Y/N gave his full attention towards her and weighed her options. She can lie her way into a satisfying answer and Y/N would accept but that would only lessen his trust to her since she asked him if she can sleep here but if she were to tell, then Y/N would tell her teammates as well and she does not want to deal with Weiss after today.
Wanting to test him, she locked eyes with Y/N. "Promise you won't tell a soul?"
"All information that you speak off will never leave this room. I promise you that." Y/N pushed his senses of [Z-Target] to its maximum to sense the tiniest of details such as breathing or the disturbance in the air.
Blake sighed heavily and got ready. Her hand went up to the ribbon atop her head and slowly undid the knot holding her identity together.
With the ribbon gone, Y/N saw 2 black feline ears from her head. Flicking about, Y/N knows that they are real and not cosplay. "You're a..."
"Faunus." Blake finished as she held her ribbon tightly.
"But, why were you still protecting him? Even if you are a Faunus, you should know the law of illegal transportation." Y/N saw Blake fidget more in her seat, thinking it would be an uncomfortable subject. "You don't have to say it if you don't-"
"No." The cat Faunus stopped him from finishing. "I want to. You're already doing so much for me that I want to return the favor."
Hearing her resolve, Y/N nodded along and listened intently as towards Blake's explanation.
Sighing once more, Blake was ready. "Y/N, what do you think of the White Fang?"
Tilting his head from the odd question, Y/N replied. "It's idiotic. Whoever the leader of the White Fang is, is a complete lunatic. If their beliefs of 'Might makes Right' are correct then we would all be dead by now." Fully knowing of war, Y/N compared it to [KHR] and the [Vongola Familia] with their generations of blood and war. Sure, it got them the respect they wanted but without [Tsunayoshi], he may suspect that the [Vongola] will perish in the end with the title of [The Most Despised Familia].
Blake nodded with his answer. "I see..."
"Why do you ask?"
"Because I was once part of the White Fang." Y/N slightly widened his eyes off the information given to him before nodding along.
"You were?" Blake nodded, sipping the tea in her hands.
"Yeah. I was a member for most of my life. You could almost say I was born into it..." Noticing the subtle hint of her lineage that Y/N picked up.
"What happened to it? Professor Oobleck told us that it was once a peace rally. What made it so... violent?"
Stifling a small laugh, Blake gazed at her cup as if reminiscing a past. "All my life, I fought for what I thought was right. I had a partner named Adam. More like a mentor, really. He always assured me that we were making the world a better place. But of course, his idea of a perfect world was not for everyone else."
"The killing spree..."
Blake looked up to Y/N as he said those words. "Exactly. That is why I fled from him and came to Beacon because I knew that Hunters and Huntresses were regarded as a noble warrior in the world. Always fighting for good."
Noticing the silence and his eyes, Blake saw it as a sign to continue. "Back then, things were different. In the ashes of war, the White Fang was meant as a symbol of peace between the Faunus and Humanity. Of course, despite being promised equality, the Faunus were subjugated to discrimination and hate. Humanity still thought of us as lesser beings.
And so, the White Fang rose up as the voice of our people. And I was there. I was at every rally. I took part in every boycott. I actually thought we were making a difference. But I was just a youthful optimist. Then, 5 years ago, our old leader stepped down and a new took his place. A new leader, with a new way of thinking.
Suddenly, our peaceful protests were being replaced with organized attacks. We were setting fire to shops that didn't serve us, hijacking cargo from companies that used Faunus labor. And the worst part of it was, it worked. We were being treated as equals, but not our of respect... but out of fear.
So I left. I decided I would no longer use my skills to aid their violence. Instead, I would dedicate my life to becoming a Huntress. Heh, now that I think about it, this is just a good cover story for me; A former White Fang infiltrates Beacon to sabotage it from the inside and kill everyone in there..." A small laugh escaped from Blake's mouth as Y/N took all of the information in.
Holding her ribbon tightly, she half expected Y/N to walk away to tell her Team RWBY or Headmaster Ozpin and within the next morning, she would be arrested. Or being killed now since she was once part of a terrorist organization and claimed many lives. While short, Blake truly believed that Y/N can be a medium between Faunus and Humans due to his realistic view of the two factions but she can now tear that dream to shreds right now.
Breathing in, Blake gave her attention to Y/N. "So, what will you do now?"
Thinking more, Blake saw an unreadable expression in his face as she was waiting for an answer. Hearing a sigh, Y/N stood up and faced her. "I... think we need to do something about the occurring White Fang."
Confused, Blake asked. "What do you mean?"
"Remember the Dust store we passed by? Weiss and everyone thought it was White Fang. I also doubt it was them but without evidence then we would be sprouting false truths about it. So, here's an idea; We stake out one of the Dust stores and catch the real burglars to prove the White Fang had no hand in it. Alright?"
Thinking about it, a plan that simple and effective would be a logical solution, especially in her position as a Beacon student. "But..."
Hearing her doubt, Y/N answered. "Because I want to help a friend. And if that friend is ready to charge into danger, then I'll be there... No one should face it themselves... nobody." His tone was somber now, remembering the time [Mona] wanted to prove himself as a proper member of the [Phantom Thieves of Heart], only to get hurt.
Seeing the somber look, Blake wanted to comfort him but saw Y/N shook his head. "So, I'll see you here tomorrow?" Seeing a nod, Y/N smiled at Blake. "Great. Then, I'll be here tomorrow morning." Y/N then tried to walk out of the attic; tried, but felt Blake holding his hand. "Blake?"
Embarrassed, Blake pushed on. "C-Can-Can you s-s-stay... for a while?" She looked at him with pleading eyes. Making Y/N slightly blush from how cute she looked.
"A-Are you sure?" Y/N slightly stuttered to Blake, who seemed to nod. "...Alright."
That made her happier than needed to be while Y/N scratches his head. "Now how will I explain Ms.Belle about this?"
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The plan was simple enough in order to find the thieves from recent Dust robberies;
1. Find suitable target.
2. Wait till nightfall.
3. Catch perpetrators and hand them to the police.
4. Apologize to Weiss about Blake.
5. Eat victory cake.
Y/N and Blake were ready to head out to carry their plan, only to be 'slightly' distracted.
And that distraction came in the form of a familiar Monkey Faunus. "Thanks for the grub. You really helped a bro out."
"...Sure, why not?" Y/N grumbled under his breath. "Remind me again why I gave you free snacks?"
"Ummm... Because we're friends?" The blonde Faunus nervously chuckled as Y/N glared at him, menacingly. "Anyway, I'm Sun Wukong. Friends call me Sun."
"Blake." She sipped some morning tea, brewed by Y/N.
"...Y/N." He can already feel the headache coming from Ms.Belle about abusing his privileges and praising him for helping a fellow Faunus. "So, why are you even here? Didn't you just literally escape from the police?"
"Well, yeah..." He leaned back from the chair and recollected everything from yesterday. "Gave those guys the slip when I passed a corner. Rented a nearby room and I was a bit lonely so, I decided to make some friends while I'm still at Vale."
Breathing out of his nose, Y/N glanced at Blake for confirmation and nodded. "Well, you made 2 friends."
"Really?! Awesome! So, tell me about yourself." Y/N gave a sideglance towards Blake, to which she put her tea down at the table.
"So... you want to know me?"
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
"Y/N? I think he left an hour ago."
"I see... Thanks, Ms.Belle." Ruby then left Monty's as she saw Yang and Weiss nearby. "He was here like he said, but left an hour ago."
"Well, not much to go from there. Guess we just keep looking." Yang then motioned Ruby and Weiss to go somewhere but the heiress didn't budge. "Come on, Weiss. Let's go look for them."
"You know who would look for them? The police."
"Weiiissss...." Ruby groaned from her partners' suggestion.
"What? It was just an idea."
"Yeah. A really bad one."
The trio woke up a day following the disappearance of Blake and spent the morning finding them. They went to Monty's to see if Y/N was still there since he didn't return to Beacon but Ms.Belle told them that he left an hour ago. Officer Alex wasn't on duty today so they couldn't ask him out.
Yang walked with Weiss side by side to talk to her. "Weiss, I think we should hear her side of the story before we jump to conclusions."
"I think when we all hear it, you will all realize that I was right."
"And I think Weiss' hair looks wonderful today." A sudden voice appeared from behind them as the girls screamed in surprise.
Ruby was the first to shake her stupor off before facing the familiar ginger. "Penny! Where did you come from?"
Ignoring the question completely, Penny faced the group with innocence. "Hey, guys, what are you up to?"
"Uuuuhhh..."
Yang answered Penny's question before her sister could. "We're looking for our friends; Blake and Y/N."
At the first mention of Y/N, Penny slightly jumped but was her cheerful self later. "Ooohh... You mean the Faunus girl?"
...
...
...
...
...
The three girls looked at Penny with a surprised expression when she figured out their secret. "Wait, how do you know that?" Ruby asked her 'friend' with wide eyes.
"Uuh... The cat ears?" She pointed at the top of her head, indicating where Blake put her bow.
Laughing a little, Yang thought it was a joke. "What? Cat ears? She wears a... boooooaaaaa..." Before realizing it.
Ruby and Weiss followed after, realizing what Penny meant.
...
...
...A random tumbleweed stumbled by and left...
...
...
"...She does like tuna." Ruby added a random fact that everyone agreed to.
"And friend Y/N..." She looked at Weiss as she pointed her finger at her. "He was the one that shouted at you?"
Weiss instinctively flinched when Penny mentioned it, remembering the disappointing and angered tone he gave to her. Especially at how right he really was...
"...Yeah, that's him." Yang answered Penny, feeling uneasy from the topic of conversation. "They've been missing since yesterday and we're finding them."
Gasping, the 'robot-in-disguise' made a 'shocked' emotion. "That's terrible." Penny held Ruby's hand with a sparkling face. "Don't worry, Ruby, my friend. I won't rest until we find your friends!"
Feeling uncomfortable, Ruby tried to comply. "Uh, that's really nice of you, Penny. But, we're OK. Right, guys?"
Looking behind her, she expected her teammates to back her up but... found them missing in a blink of an eye.
Leaving her to Penny.
...
...
..."It sure is windy today."

"So, what's the plan now?" Sun asked the 2 teens as they walked at a dark alleyway.
Contemplating on the addition of a new member, Blake glanced on Sun. "I don't think the White Fang had any ties with Dust shops. They've never needed this much of Dust in their lives."
"And even then, what kind of device needs that much Dust? I doubt the White Fang have technicians that are capable of creating such a weapon." Y/N put his dime in the conversation.
And it's true; If the White Fang needs that amount Dust, then they are either creating a weapon of mass destruction or powering a device needed that much power. And it still sucks that it was never revealed in the show.
"What if, they did?" Blake and Y/N stopped in their tracks to look on Sun. "I mean... like you said, the only way to prove that they didn't do it is is to go to a place they would likely go if they were to do it and not find them there, right?"
"It is as you say, Sun. Question is, where can we find a suitable place?" Y/N said to the blonde Faunus and saw him smirk.
"Well, while I was on the ship-"
"That you illegally boarded." Sun shrank slightly from the glare Y/N gave to him but continued.
"-I heard some guys talking about offloading a huge shipment of Dust from Atlas."
"... How huge?" Blake asked Sun and saw him scratching his head.
"Schnee Dust Company freighter huge. And another one, which is... weird"
"Is it more Dust?"
"Well, that's the idea. It's not Dust."
Y/N gave Sun a surprised look. "What do you mean?"
"It looked too small than any of the Dust shipment I ever saw and they always talked about 'wanting to get rid of it' or 'putting it to good use.' I assumed it was Dust but... I don't know if it's true or not."
"Well, only one way to find out," Blake said, surprising the two. "Whatever it is, the White Fang will also likely assume it is Dust since it is coming from Atlas and if it isn't, they will investigate it. So, let's go."
Seeing them nod, that was their cue to put their plan to action.
A shadow nearby flickered silently before disappearing.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Walking out from a nearby shop, Yang and Weiss stepped to the sidewalk. "Thanks anyway!" Yang called out the owner of the shop before sighing. "This is hopeless." Looking at Weiss as she stared anywhere, the blonde brawler called her out. "You really don't care if we find her, do we?"
Having heard that, Weiss looked back at Yang. "Don't be stupid; of course I do. I'm just afraid of what she'll say when we find her. Especially him... The innocent never run, Yang!"
Sighing softly, Yang idly thought back yesterday when Y/N scolded Weiss and Blake about their beliefs. Sadly accepting the truth was rather harsh.
Weiss also thought back on yesterday with Y/N as she rubbed her arm in guilt. She thought it was all over when Blake stormed off but she couldn't dismiss Y/N's words to her, especially at how right he was.
One question was on their minds; 'Is Y/N alright?'
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Elsewhere, Ruby and Penny were walking down the street. "So. Blake is your friend?"
Sighing, Ruby answered. "Yes, Penny."
"But, you're mad at her?"
"Yes. Well, I'm not. Y/N and Wiess are."
"Are they friends with Blake?"
"I think Y/N is but Weiss... well, that's kinda in the air right now."
More confused, Penny asked some personal questions. "But why?"
Sighing once more, she answered as best she could. "Well, you see. Blake might not be who we thought she was..."
As innocent she was, Penny thought that meant something else. Gasping, she asked Ruby. "Is she a man?"
Hearing that, she immediately stopped all thoughts coming from Penny's mouth. "No! No, Penny. She's..." Stopping herself, Ruby again sighed. "I don't know what she is. She didn't exactly talk to us before she decided to run off."
"I don't have a lot of friends, but if I did, I would want them to talk to me about things."
Looking at the ground dejectedly, Ruby said to Penny. "Me too..."
"And Y/N..." That made Ruby face Penny, which she looked like in deep thought. "Is he your friend?"
Blushing slightly, Ruby answered. "Well, yeah... A close friend, you could say."
"What do you mean?"
Looking sad, Ruby thought back at her first encounter with Y/N. "Well, he's really friendly and supportive of us. Whenever there was something I didn't understand, Y/N helped me to do better. He's really nice and kind."
Smiling to herself from the memories, Penny gave an appropriate sentence. "He sounds like a nice boy."
"Yeah, he does."
"But, why was he angry yesterday?" Hearing a somber tone, Penny instinctively gripped the hem of her skirt. "Was it something I did? Did I do something wrong?"
"What?! No, of course not, Penny." Ruby gave a small smile. "He would never do that to you since you didn't know what was going on. I'm sure he'll apologize to you."
"... Really?"
"That's the kind of person he is."
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Nighttime came to Vale, with Blake overlooking the docks. She eyed at the container Sun mentioned indeed, it was small. Smaller than most shipments with the Atlas symbol at the side. It would likely be leftover Dust from the experiments they would make or perhaps old androids. Whatever the case, the White Fang will definitely make their move here since it also came with Dust from the SDC.
Y/N was there, kneeing on one knee as he looked at the freighters that came in. "I'm guessing that small freighter is the one Sun is talking about."
"Most likely. It doesn't match with the others that they loaded in and the logo is different. Perhaps it is a failed product."
Nodding, they still waited for Sun to be here, only leaving the two in comfortable silence. "Hey, Y/N?"
"What is it, Blake?"
"...You think Loki will show up?" Startled by her question, Y/N shook his head.
"I don't think so. That guy does not like the idea of getting ordered. He will try and kill me at my most vulnerable state so here is an unlikely chance."
"I see... That's reassuring."
"You and me, both."
A few seconds later, Sun came in, holding a couple of apples.
"Did I miss anything?"
Blake answered. "Not really. They just unloaded the cargo from the boat. Now, their just sitting there."
"Cool." He grabbed one of the apples and showed it to Blake. "I stole you guys some food."
"..." Blake and Y/N only gave deadpan looks to Sun. "Really?"
"Do you always break the law without a second thought?"
"Hey, weren't you in a cult or something?"
"..." A smack was heard when Y/N lightly hit Sun. "Alright, too soon."
Sighing, Y/N felt a sudden shift in the wind as he looked up. Blake and Sun did as well as they saw it. A Bullhead was seen, using searchlights on the ground. When it landed with the ramp deployed, a figure was seen exiting the vehicle. It had a black hood with a metallic Grimm mask with a logo Blake dreaded to see.
"Is that...them?" Sun asked, unsure if it is real or not.
"Yes... it's them." Blake confirmed with a shocked expression.
"...Damn. Sorry Blake, but it looks like they were right." Y/N said with a sad face. "The White Fang was behind the attacks."
The actions only confirmed it. "Alright, grab the tow cables." Numerous WF grunts were locking in the Dust containers with wires connected to the Bullhead.
Blake solemnly nodded at Y/N's answer. Deep down, she knew. She just wished she was wrong.
"Hey, what's the holdup?" Blake critically looked at who was talking when she saw a human there.
The WF grunts looked at the man as he gestured to the surroundings around him. "We're not exactly the most inconspicuous bunch of thieves at the moment, so why don't you animals try and pick up the pace?!"
"Roman..." Blake said, with venom in her voice.
Y/N looked at the man in charge and used [Observe] on him.

"This isn't right. The White Fang would never work with a human. Especially not one like that." Blake then draws her weapon, Gambol Shroud.
Walking to the edge, she fell to the ground without sound and peeked from her position to see Roman there.
Seeing such a daring attempt, Sun turned to Y/N. "We gotta go help her."
"Right." Nodding, Y/N and were about to move from their position-
"Oh, hey. What are you guys doing?"
An unknown voice stopped the duo as they craned their heads slowly to the side. What they saw was a plain-looking man in a dress suit. "You know this is considered trespassing, right?"
"..." Silence only filled the air, the tension was already rising. In a swift motion, Y/N tried to kick the man unconscious but saw he blocked the attack. Y/N was surprised to see someone block a fast kick with no expression on his face and sighed. "That wasn't nice."
Taking initiative, Sun also tried for a high kick but the man leaned out of the way as Y/N went for another kick. He blocked the attack but Sun was already in the air as he landed a blow to his head, making him stumble a bit.
"...Hehe, nice punch." Sun and Y/N glanced at each other before returning their gaze to the newcomer. "Here's mine." The man seemingly smirked at the two brats in his vision as he sped towards them at surprising speed.
The first one was Sun, whom he ducked a blow to his face followed by a kick and shove. Y/N intercepted him with a tackle and threw him away from Sun. "Get to Blake. He's mine."
"But Y/N..." Sun was shortly interrupted when 2 Bullheads were seen around Blake's position.
"Just go!"
Looking at Y/N as he stared at the new guy, Sun then made a mad dash towards the female Faunus.
Noticing the area, Y/N knew that he was alone with the new guy. "Never got your name."
"Heeeee... really?" The man dusted off some dust from his jacket as he mockingly glared at Y/N. "You forgot me so easily? How sad." Y/N was confused about what he meant but had a feeling he knew him somewhere. "Maybe, this will help you." He fished out a handkerchief and threw it near him.
Y/N looked at the item and saw it was soaked in coffee. That made him realize who it was. "You?"
"Yep." That only seemed to make him grin more. "And to thank you for helping me here's a little 'present'~"
The man then let out a mad cackle as red mist oozed out of him. Y/N's breath hitched in horror as he saw the familiar mist starting to form something behind him. 'Another one.' Now he knew what that damn {Demon} was talking about, someone who can use a fake Persona power.
Y/N clicked his tongue in annoyance as he grabbed his Scroll to dial in his rocket locker for his weapons. Whatever this guy was doing, he should be prepared.
But the man was suddenly at his face as he grabbed Y/N and threw him across the dock with massive strength. "Damn it!" Y/N cursed through the air as he readjusted his position to shoot out an attack to slow his fall. "{Garula!}" A heavy gust of wind shot out from his hand and into the container near him, making the fall softer than expected than usual.
Y/N landed near where he shot his attack, looking around and he saw he was at the other side of where Blake, Sun, and Roman were and with a wall of containers to contain him there.
Feeling a thud, he looked to see the man and a shadowy figure above him. "Now then, let's introduce ourselves." The man took out a 6-shot revolver from his coat as the figure gleamed at him with sickly green eyes.

"The name's Adachi. A name, you will soon forget." He then grinned madly at Y/N as he pointed his gun at him.
Glaring at Adachi, Y/N heard the locker coming from the sky and landed near him. Grabbing his weapons, he went into a stance. "And I'm Y/N, a name you will never forget."
Y/N looked at the figure above him, {Magatsu-Izanagi}, with disgust. A bloodied version of a god as it brought out its own bloody version of its signature weapon. A long staff with a meter long blade at the tip.
"Now then," He raised the gun towards Y/N as his eyes gleamed molten yellow. "Let's go."
