Chapter 9

The day was filled with laughter and lame jokes, but eventually Tyler had to go to work and Evan had gotten a call from his mom saying that she just got back from her trip. So Evan had driven Tyler to work, David and Jonathan home, and dropped Evanee off at her house last.

"Thanks Ducky. I'd probably be screwed if you weren't there to clean the mess up," the taller boy scratched the back of his neck nervously.

"I did owe you a favor for Friday night anyways, loser."

Evan smiled and was about to walk inside his house to greet his mom. "Need a ride to school tomorrow?"

The raven haired girl gave it a quick thought and nodded, waving to him and going to her house.

It wasn't that late, only seven. Evanee had no homework over the weekend so there wasn't really anything productive to do, so she changed into large blue tee shirt that reached her knees. Instead of going on Netflix, she went to her room and went on her computer and signed in.

With her headset on and her hair in a ponytail, a tiny slip of paper caught her attention. It was placed on her desk and there was writing on it.

You probably won't notice this until later, but add me on Skype. My username is @VanossEGaming. Maybe you can finally make some videos on YouTube if you play with me and my friends -Evan

She added him and he probably wasn't online at the moment, so she started playing CS:GO.

While Evanee spent her free time playing on the PC, Evan was helping his mom unpack her stuff.

"I've been gone for an entire week and half and you managed to keep the house clean, Evan." Anne Fong, Evan's mother, smiled and went to her room to put her stuff away.

She came back downstairs and was thankful when Evan had made some ramen for the two of them since her flight back home had no food.

They sat down at the table and began eating.

"So anything happen when I was gone, sweetie?"

Evan and his mom were pretty close even though she wasn't home a lot. He was able to tell her anything. Well, not anything bad for his sake.

The teenage boy smiled and nodded. "I met a girl on Friday and she's pretty cool, " Evan told her, smiling even wider thinking about Evanee.

"My little boy found a girlfriend when I was gone?" Anne laughed seeing the embarrassment on her son's face. "I'm kidding, Evan. Tell me about her."

"Her name is Evanee. She lives across the street," Evan started earning a surprised look from his mom. "Yeah, I just found out on Friday and you'd like her and her aunt."

That interested Anne. "She doesn't live with her parents?"

"No, but her aunt's nice. They let me stay Friday night." Anne raised her eyebrow in question. "Nothing happened. We just watched a movie."

The younger boy took out his phone and went to the picture Gemma had taken that night. He showed his mom and she smiled.

"It certainly looks like you two are more than friends, Evan."

"We're not. Is it bad to say I wish we were though? I've only known her for like two days," Evan sighed and looked to his mom for advice. He was always so open when it came to personal things in his life and this was one of them.

Over these two days, she lingered in his mind and he couldn't help it. He didn't want to like her and he still wanted to make her life a living hell. It sounded bad, but he didn't want to get involved with a girl. Even though he wanted to annoy her, he also wanted to make her smile and spend time with her. It was just a constant fight in his head deciding whether he should play nice or live up to his threat.

His mom looked at him and placed her hand on his. "Its not bad, sweetie. Sometimes you can't help but like someone. I was like that with your dad and it turned out to be amazing. If you're not sure, spend more time with her. Get to know her even more and if you still like her in the end, ask her out. You just got to give it time."

Her words comforted Evan and he would listen to her advice. For now, he would be kind to Evanee and get to know her better.
