Chapter 28
"One more picture!" Gemma exclaimed, holding her phone out.
"You've said that over five times tonight. We have to go," Evanee said, pulling David to his motorcycle.
"Okay. Well, be careful tonight and have fun!"
That was the last thing the two heard as David revved up the vehicle and started off towards the school. Evanee's white dress wasn't long and it was surprisingly comfortable so riding on David's motorcycle proved to be pretty enjoyable. It was strapless and flared out at her waist, reaching down to the middle of her thigh. It was also a beautiful, smooth material with black swirls decorating the corset part.
Meanwhile, David wore a black suit with a white tie and a white flower peeking out of his jacket pocket.
It didn't take them long to reach the school and thankfully, Evanee's hair wasn't messed up. The long locks of raven hair were wrapped up in a bun with a white flower pinned to the side, the same flower on David's suit.
"Your aunt really outdid herself with the clothes, but I can't say she wasted her time," David said, walking to the school circle where the dance was at. "You look stunning."
"And you don't look so bad yourself," Evanee said.
After handing one of the teachers supervising the dance in the front their tickets, the two of them walked to the school circle and were in awe at the sight.
The several trees in the school circle were decorated in fairy lights that provided the only source of light apart from the moon. Then there were a few tables to the side with red punch and a few large plates of untouched snacks. The school hired one of the students for a DJ. He was actually pretty good and usually DJ'd Evan's parties. Aside from that, Homecoming was just a simple dance in the middle of their school campus.
There were only a few people talking over the simple pop culture music playing. It was still kind of early and no one wanted to dance until more people showed up.
"You want eat all the snacks before everyone else shows up," Evanee suggested, eyeing the wide array of snacks.
David smiled. "I thought you'd never ask."
They casually walked to the table and grabbed a few items. Most of the snacks were cookies and candy. The rest were just a few vegetables with ranch and crackers with cheese and ham.
The last choice of food had Evanee drooling. "Crackers with ham and cheese," Evanee said happily. "Haven't had this snack in forever."
Most people wouldn't find another person attractive if that person were stuffing food into their mouth, but it seemed to be just the opposite for David. The wondrous faces Evanee made when eating were actually cute.
After eating almost all of the entire plate full of crackers, Evanee looked up and wiped the crumbs from her mouth. "Sorry. Did you want some?"
The tall Irish boy bursted out laughing and shook his head. "I'm good with my cookies." He paused for a second. "Kelly and Tyler just got here. You want to say hi?"
Evanee nodded, taking more crackers in her hand and actually stuffing some candy in her bra when David wasn't looking.
"You two look great," Kelly said when they walked up to them. "And your outfits match," she awed.
"My aunt gets a bit too excited for things like these. Anyways, I haven't seen in you in forever. How've you been?"
"Great. Laser tag isn't as fun without you guys, but this cutie makes up for it," Kelly said, kissing his cheek.
And in that moment, something very rare happened. Tyler blushed.
David and Evanee shared a look and huge smiles decorated their faces. "He's blushing! Holy shit! The world is ending!" David shouted.
"Shut up, bitch," Tyler said, smacking David's arm. "So, you guys want to tell me why Evanee has a shit ton of crackers in her hand?"
"Because crackers are gifts made from heaven above. Want a redvine?" Evanee asked, pulling one out of her bra.
The other three were attracting different looks from their loud laughing. It became so hectic to a point where Tyler's face was red and he was wheezing. As the laughing died down, David took the redvine and took a bite.
"I didn't think you'd actually do it. I was going to eat that," Evanee pouted. Her eyes then turned to a certain pair at the entrance. "He did not fucking do this. I'm going to seriously beat his ass."
There stood Evan with Sydney by his side. Surprisingly, Sydney actually had more makeup than she usually wore and wore a long red dress that was way too fancy for a simple dance like this. Then everyone's eyes landed on Jonathan who was behind the two and waving at them, which caused the pair to look at where he was waving.
"She's coming over here. I want to leave."
"She won't do anything, okay?" David reassured the green eyed girl, instinctively taking a small step in front of her.
Evan looked downright nervous as he approached his friends. "Hey guys."
"I'm going to get more crackers," Evanee muttered. Jonathan followed after her after hearing the word crackers.
"He didn't bring her here," Jonathan told her in between their little eating session, where Evanee was stuffing food into her mouth and glaring at Sydney inconspicuously.
"Then why is she here?"
"We were about to go in and Sydney saw us. So, she ditched her date to come hang out with us. I feel bad for the guy. He bought her roses and rented a limo just for."
Devil. Slut. Whore. Dumbass. Boyfriend stealer. Bitch. Conceited. Selfish.
Evanee was fuming. There was no way in Hell she'd let Sydney ruin her first school dance. Closing her eyes, she let out a soft sigh and motioned for Jonathan to walk back with her.
There were a lot more people now but the dance floor was still empty and the music was still playing.
"May I?" Evanee asked, wiggling her eyebrows and leading David to the dance floor.
Just in time the chorus of the song began, making it just the right moment for the two to start jumping around and twirling.
Oh don't you dare look back
Just keep your eyes on me
I said you're holding back
She said shut up and dance with me
Evanee laughed as she was lifted up off the ground and spun around. Everyone looked toward the goofy pair in the middle of the school circle, dancing like idiots and so everyone joined in.
In seconds, almost all of the teenagers who were standing on the sidelines were dancing and jumping with their friends.
The entire night was surreal as Evanee spent hours dancing and eating and talking. It had to be the most social she'd ever been. She had even been talking to people she'd never met before, but they all knew her. From her time spent with the guys, she gained a lot more popularity than she had expected.
It was a night she would never forget for the rest of her life.
------------------------
"It's the last song of the night, so grab a partner and share that last special dance."
Evanee grabbed David's arm and was about to lead him to the dance floor, but he wouldn't budge.
"Not this dance," David said simply with a sad smile. Evanee was about to ask why he looked that way, but he ushered her to a certain boy.
He turned around with a smile. "Just the girl I wanted to see. May I have this dance?"
Evanee smiled and took Evan's hand, going to the dance floor. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see David sitting on the side with Jonathan talking. Then her eyes moved to Sydney who's eyes were focused on them with a deadly glare. Though, Sydney no longer had any effect on Evanee. All that mattered was that the boy in front of her was only looking at her alone.
"You're mine, okay? That means you belong to no one else and I belong to only you," Evan whispered in her ear as they swayed along to the music.
She saw his gaze waver to Sydney and David and she understood what he meant. She stood on her toes to kiss his lips as the song played in the background.
It was a beautiful moment to end a beautiful night. If only that moment could last forever.

I've already planned out how this book is going to end and don't worry, because I will be making a second book. Plus this book won't end that soon. It's too much fun writing this. Vote and comment if you're a #Devanee or #Eevanee shipper
And as always I hope ye enjoyed(:)
