The rain soaked the plants and building, it was rain hard right now on the verge of a thunderstorm, some of the rain pooled onto the window seal from under the window.

Madison leant against the old broken heater her knees pulled up to her chest, as Malia leaned her head on the blondes shoulder, and Ellie stood up pulling at the chains hoping to pull them off, but to no avail, she looked up at the roof as she held onto the chain putting stress on it as she leaned in the back of her heels a few drops of rain fell on her face. Making her stand up straight in frustration as she wiped her face and cursed.

The door opened making the two younger girls snap their heads towards the door, as Madison began counting, but she saw the leader of the fireflies walking in carrying two bags in her hands, as a guy behind her carried the other one. The man slid the bag along the floor as it hits Ellie's leg, she quickly scrambles to get her switchblade holding it close to her Marlene slide the backpacks towards Madison and Malia as well.

Marlene sat Infront of the three, mainly infront of Madison, Ellie flicked the blade of her knife up as a warning.

Madison grabbed her back pack and looked for her gun and switchblade it had a black handle with a bird engraved on one side and a message engraved on the other, the gun was all black and had her name engraved on it. she grabbed the switchblade looking at it's handle it had engraving in it. 'keep on fighting no matter what' she checked the clip of her gun to see it was empty. Of course it was, what did she expect to give her the gun with the bullets.

"You're not scared?" Madison asked, Marlene shook her head slowly, not staying anything "Then unlock us." Madison said firmly. "How about we start with "thank you"?" Marlene asked redirecting the question

"For what?" Malia spat with a bitter look on her face. 

"For saving her life?.......I am the one who told 'em not to shoot you.....and you three if you recall." Marlene stated looking from the siblings. Everyone muttered their accept as they look at the ground slightly "Why did you stop them?" Madison asked

"We'll get to that." Marlene assured the unsure women.

"So... Christina... how ya feelin'?" Marlene asked putting stress on the name Christina
"The same." Madison said "Is it gonna happen?" Ellie asked as Madison looked at her right arm "No."

"So, can we go?" Malia asked, as she glared slightly at the women "No." "We won't tell anyone about any of this." Ellie said sounding despite "we swear."

"Where you gonna go?....Back to FEDRA military school?...." She stopped and looked at Ellie"..Back to the now infected filled old military hideout?" She looked to Madison and Malia "You that anxious to be a soldier?" Madison rolled her eyes as she scoffed "You think we chose that place?" Madison spat

"They put me there when I was a baby. It's for orphans." Ellie said referring to the old military school, it use to be filled with kids, it was an basically an orphanage to house the parentless kids. Madison and Malia found Ellie when they escaped the Military hideout.

" 'They' didn't put you there....I did.....Ellie." Marlene said slowly to the 14 year old "you my fucking mum or something?" Ellie asked  "do I look like your mum?" Marlene stated "nooo you do not" Ellie dragged out the word slowly. "and they didn't put you in that hideout" Marlene directed the comment to  all three sisters. Even tho Ellie isn't Madison and Malia's blood sister, they basically adopted her.

"My name is Marlene.....I'm the leader of the Fireflies in the Boston QZ." The women introduced herself "Why would a terrorist dump me with FEDRA?" Malia and Ellie asked "Because it's where you'd be safest, and you were safe there until you decided to sneak out....And "terrorist"?....Was Riley a terrorist?...." Ellie's face dropped as she hung her head "Was Jazz a terrorist?..." She aimed at Malia, her face dropped as her lip trembled. "Or Theo...what about him?" She directed the last person to Madison, Making her eyes harden and her jaw clench. She really wanted to punch the women in the face.

"Why won't us let me go home?" Ellie asked her voice trembled and breaks "Because Madison has a greater purpose than any of us could've ever imagined." Marlene looked towards Madison "So we're leaving tonight, and we're taking you with us."

A knock on the door Interrupts a medic walked in the room "He's here." She said "Five minutes." Marlene replied and then she closes the door, the sound of her steps descending down the hall.

"What I'm about to tell you cannot be repeated to anyone.....Because if you do... I assure you... you will die." Marlene looked at Madison, ignoring Malia and Ellie's confused looks.

Madison looked at Marlene and nodded for her to continue.

The thunder and rain raged on outside, as two people and man and women walked in an abandoned subway that led down to an underground train tracks. They walked along the tracks. Tess shone her flashlight at the wall trying to find something, Joel was confused on what she was looking for, until she spoke as she spotted a white smiley face spray painted on the concrete foundation. "That's the one" Tess called out, her voice bounced off the walls.

She unlocked the door and pushed it opened, a grunt leaving her as it didn't move that easily. She shone the light around the room, yellow hard helmets hung on hooks on the wall, papers were scattered around the room, some ripped, some had holes from rats or mice nibbling at them. Chairs tipped over and broken.

Tess walked Infront she looked around, her light shines on an infected he or she, it was too hard to tell. He or she was stuck to the wall fungus grew outwards some in clumps and growth growing on his or her's body, their mouth was open as growth had grown upwards but it was all frozen it looked like it was old.

Tess jumped in fright, stumbling back a bit "oh fuck" she exclaimed as she places a hand over her chest to calm her racing heart. "Oh shit" Joel stepped in quickly holding his torch and gun in front ready to shoot. But he just saw the dead infected. "This one's dead" Joel stated the obvious "yeah. I know. I just- I wasn't expecting it" Tess said and went closer to it. "I take it he wasn't down here the last time" he said as he put the gun in the back of his pants. "No....Do you think he came down when he was infected?" She asked "or maybe down here was when he was infected?" Joel suggested. Tess took moment to process it. She took a breath in "let's keep movin'."

The two continued to walk down the small corridor. They stopped when they got to a ladder and started climbing up the ladder, Tess first then Joel "it's like they reframed the whole structure, probably in the '80s. Everyone was cutting down one apartment sizes to sell more condos."

"This has been 'construction corner' with Joel Miller." The foam padded walls soon turned into wood. "How far up we goin'?" He asked "uhh...this far" she stopped at the wide open small attic like space. "This opens into the hallway." Tess tried to push it open but is wouldn't budge, she continued to try and push it harder "what the fuck? Did someone put a piano in front of this?" Joel looked around the space. He breathed in the air, then looked confused "do you smell that?" He asked. Tess sniffed the air "Yeah, Gunpowder." She said grabbing her gun.

The two move their flashlights down to the faintest of dripping noises. A small trail of Blood trailed underneath the door and pooled of the end. Joel grabbed his gun as Tess shouldered the door with a grunt as it pushed open with a long creak, as something heavy fell to the ground with a thud "Tess"

The man that fell was the man that they where looking for blood stained his white t-shirt, a bullet was in his left cheek leaving a hole their as evidence. His eyes looked lifeless. A battery sat next to him in a green crate.

Tess crossed her arms over the other as she held her gun and flashlight she looked up the hall and more dead men and women sat lifeless against the peeling walls or lifeless against the concrete floor, or down the stairs. "Well the battery's no good"

Tess shone the light in the dead man's face "and you still tried to sell it. Twice. You greedy fuck." Tess spat venom lacing her voice.

A groan of pain caught both of their attention, Tess slowly stood up as Joel walked ahead of her slowly and quitely. A women was leaning against the wall clutching her abdomen. Another women stood above her helping her up. "Shit come on" the women whispered. Joel walked forward quietly but his head snapped to the side as the door opened and a women ran at him with a knife in her hand. Joel blocked her arm and moved his body to the side, and pushed the women down to the ground. He pointed the gun at her head as she looked at him glaring. Her switchblade was Infront of his foot.

"Joel?" Marlene asked, Joel turned his head towards her "Marlene?" He repeated her name. Marlene and Kim had their guns pointed at Joel "you okay?" Marlene asked the women on the floor "yeah" she said winded slightly and glared at the man, she went to reach for her blade, but Joel stepped on it, he looked at her glaring at her too.

"Madison." Marlene said but she would looked over to her she just kept glaring "Madison!" She said firmer making her look at Marlene "oh shit!" She exclaimed and start to stand up "no, it's okay. I'll be all right." She explained as she held onto her wound "you can't be stupid like this" Marlene said "and where are your sisters?" Just then Ellie and Malia walked out "where here?" The were going to run towards Madison but was stopped when the gun was pointed at them so the two ran to Marlene. Another women walked in "so this is who Robert screwed us over with?, The che Guevara if Boston? War must be goin' pretty shitty for you to be buying from scumbags like him." She said

Kim pressed her arm against her neck "yeah it kinda has been. The merch was bad, and he obviously didn't take 'fuck off' for an answer."

Madison looked at Joel's boot that was standing on her knife. "Give me my knife." Joel ignored her and continued to interigate Marlene "what do you need a car battery for?" Madison moved her arm to grab the knife from under his foot. "Don't" he demanded and clicked the gun aiming it at her. "Not at her" Marlene ordered and Kim and Marlene's hands raised clicking their guns. Tess raises her gun in response, Madison moved her hand away, and pressed them against the wall. She looked at the barrel of the gun. "Point it at me" Marlene said.

Joel slowly moved the barrel of the gun to face Marlene instead of Madison. Marlene motions for Kim to lower her gun, as she Malia holds Ellie back from running at Joel, even though Malia would also like to tackle him for pointing a gun at her sister but she knows better then to do that with a gun pointed at her. "And to answer your question, I need it for a better reason then you do. No offended, but Tommy's just one man. It's our business to know things."

"To know things. You're the cause of it. You turned my own brother against me." Joel spat. "Okay Joel" Marlene said hearing none of it. "That was a lot gunfire. Fedra's gonna be on the way" Kim said to Marlene "I know" Madison rubbed her shoulder to soothed the pain from hitting the wall at full force.

"We were gonna move Madison outta the zone tonight. But we won't make it anywhere like this." Joel looked at Madison slightly confused at why some women was so important "Not for a while anyway. So now I'm thinkin', you're gonna do it." He snapped his head towards her. The two shouted at the same time "The hell we are" "I'm not going with them!"

"Let me take her." Kim said "Tess we don't have time for this." "Oh you don't have time?" Marlene sarcastically yelled. "Who is she?" Tess asked "to you? She's cargo." Madison looked from each individual as they spoke her face getting more annoyed and confused by the minute. "We don't smuggle poeple. Sorry." Joel said "I can do it" Kim said

"Kim you don't have a fucking ear on your fucking head, could you please? " Marlene raised her voice. "There's a team of fireflies waiting for her at the old state house. I know what's out there. We were going with an entire squadron for that very reason. But now I don't have a truck, I don't have a squadron, fedra's five minutes away. What I'd I have is you. And I know what you're both capable of. For better or worse" Marlene finished

"What are they capable of?" Malia asked from beside of Marlene as Madison looked concerned "you get her a d her sister there safely, and they'll give you what you need. Not just a battery. The whole thing. Fueled-up truck, guns, supplies, all of it. I swear." Marlene repeated that she promises again. Joel looks toward Tess, he kicks the knife away as Madison goes to reach for it "asshole!" she spat. Joel walks to Tess and they go a little ways away to discuss "y'all talk it through but please remember that I'm bleeding out." As she looks up to the roof in pain.

Joel and Tess look at each other for a second "okay. Here's the deal. We'll get her to your crew at the State House. But before we ha d her over, they give us Everything we want. If not, we kill her and her sisters, there and then."

Marlene said "deal" with no hesitation "really? that fast?" Marlene looks down at the women "you are all that matters. My team will not jeopardize that. Remember what I tokd you? Now all three of you go get your back packs" she orders the three girls to go Madison gets up first and walks I side not before saying in Joel's face "if you touch on hair on my sisters heads, i will end you" She makes a cut throat motion against her throat with her thumb. "Madison!" Marlene said and Madison continues her walk into the room across from her.

The three grab their backpacks before walking out, "let's go" Tess said as she began to take the lead, Ellie first, Malia next and Madison next, she roughly bumps shoulder with Joel and grabs her switchblade on the way.

"Joel." The man turns and looks at Marlene, "don't fuck this up.....please" Joel walks off and around the corner that the others went around.
