Queen Death Part One

The next early morning was quiet, yet peaceful as if it was a new day. Lola slowly wakes up alone in bed, so she gets out of bed to check the kids room to see their beds already made and empty. She scrunches her eyebrows trying not to think the worst possible scenarios. Downstairs, the kids are seated at the table enjoying breakfast that consisted of sweets. Olivia and Emma at the table eating some of the pastries while Lucas sat in his father's lap.

"Now, you can't call yourself a connoisseur if you have not sampled each and every one of these. Hmm? Here."Klaus said as he picked up a beignet and holds it for his son.

Lucas leaned forward taking a bite out of the pastry and hummed happily which makes his sisters giggle at his reaction "It's so good!"

" Did I ever tell you the story of my first beignet?"Klaus asked as Lucas shakes his head and Klaus softly gasped "No? You are in for a treat."

Klaus lifted his son up in the air so he can stand, and sets him back in the chair with Emma and Olivia surrounding to listen as Klaus says "Long ago, three French nuns came to New Orleans looking for a fresh start. And they came here. They marched right into our courtyard, and they presented your Uncle Elijah and me with these rather lumpy-looking, sugar-coated pastries. Well, needless to say, we were entranced. We set them up quite well."

"Why did they come to you?"Emma asked while looking at her father and smiled.

"Because there was a time when we were regarded as royalty. You might even go so far as to say I was king, which would make you two princesses and Lucas a prince."The hybrid said as he crouches in front of his children who looked at him with admiration.

Olivia and Emma smile wide at the title while Lucas giggled happily. Klaus smiled at his children, enjoying the time he was spending with them although he wishes he could spend more time if there wasn't a threat. Lola walked downstairs and looked at the amount of pastries and candy on the table.

Lola was wearing a blue top with a jacket, a pant and some boots.

"Good morning. I guess apple turnover is fruit."Lola said, tilting her head and Klaus stands up straight.

"Well, I saw no harm in indulging our children sweet tooth. All things in moderation, of course."Klaus told her, gesturing to the table and she gives him a look before looking at the little Mikaelsons.

"Okay. Don't eat too many. You'll get a stomachache."Lola told her children.

The twins and Emma nodded simultaneously and Lola looked at her husband and asked " Can we talk?"

The hybrid slightly nodded and walked a little ways from the table to talk amongst each other and Lola asked him "Have you seen Elijah?"

"I thought he was with Gia. haven't seen him since he left for Marcel's last night."Klaus frowned.

Later on, Marcel shouted, his voive penatrating through the large doors of Lucien's old apartment and into the hallways where Klaus and Lola stood "You can come on in, Klaus."

Klaus pushed the doors wide open and headed towards Marcel as Marcel asked "To what do I owe the displeasure?"

"I thought we had a truce."Klaus said, stopping in front of him. Lola made her way into the apartment, it looking completely different from when Lucien owned it years ago.

"We do. If we didn't, I might've responded differently when Sophie asked me to sacrifice you."Marcel told him.

"And does our truce extend to my brother, despite your extensive grievances?" Klaus asked him.

"Well, yeah, I want to get Sofya back and stop the Hollow. As long as you guys want the same thing, I don't see why we can't play nice."Marcel replied. Both Kiara and Klaus stood in silence, so Marcel asked "Why? What's wrong?"

"Well, far be it from me to jump to conclusions, but the last time anyone saw my brother, he was on his way here to talk to you."Klaus said.

"And you think I have him? Seriously?"Marcel scoffed.

"No."Lola said, shaking her head.

Klaus looked back toward her with a slight frown "I thought we discussed that I was handling this?"

Lola ignored him and stepped forward "Marcel, we need you on our side. If you help us find Elijah, we will help with Sofya. And we can all put the Hollow down. I mean Nico is training his powers and he'll be strong enough to extract it from Sofya and destroy the Hollow's spirit for good with me. So, are you with us?"

"I'm in." Marcel said.

Lola sat staring at the clock sat on the wall behind Marcel, who was sat at his desk. Klaus had taken a call and she was waiting for him to return. She scanned around the room, looking at how it had changed from Lucien being in it.

Klaus made his way into the study and told them "Freya informs me your mate Vincent has a plan. Just one tiny problem. I don't trust him."

"All right, Vincent helped me keep the peace for five years. He knows the Hollow's power, and he is our best shot at coming up with a plan." Marcel told him.

"I have a plan of my own. We find this thing and its acolytes, we slaughter the lot of them. And then stack their bodies into a monument dedicated to those who would threaten my family." Klaus said.

"Right, right. There's just one problem with that. One of those bodies would be Sofya, and I want her alive." Marcel told him.

"Please, Marcel. It's not a time to be sentimental. This is New Orleans, toss a few beads." Klaus began as he sat on the arm of the chair Kiara was on.

"That is the problem with you and your family, all right? You'll do anything to save your brother, but to hell with anyone else, right? It all seems a little familiar. The Hollow is evil, yes. Do we want to defeat it? Yes. But I'm not willing to stand by and watch someone that I care about become more Mikaelson collateral damage."Marcel scoffed.

"Oh, spare me your sanctimony. It was your refusal to make peace that led Elijah here last night. If you two had settled your differences..."Klaus frowned.

Marcel slammed his fist onto the table and snapped "Enough! The only reason why you are still in this city is because I allow it. Now, do you want to fight me, or do you want to find a way to end this?"

Lola stood up in between the pair of them and said "Okay, will you two stop with the empty fighting threats. We came to find Elijah, we didn't. We know he's with the Hollow. So what we're gonna do is shut up and go and listen to Vicent's plan."

Lola walked away. Marcel and Klaus followed after her.

At the compound, Vincent stood in the small foyer in front of Valerie, Hayley, Liv, Derek, Klaus, Ambrose, Freya, Marcel and Lola and Vincent told them "You want a plan of attack, it comes down to this. Use the element of surprise. Now, Marcel will hand over the bone, and then stab the Hollow with either Hayley's blood and then I'm gonna cast the spell that buries her."

Liv was wearing a sweater with a leather jacket, a small pant and some boots.

Gia was wearing a top with a white pant and some boots.

"The Ancestors' spell requires a sacrifice. An Original has to die."Liv said.

Vincent says, nodding "Yeah, and right now, the Hollow is gonna use Elijah's death to come back, but there's a window where I can use the sacrifice to shove her back into her grave."

Klaus stood from leaning on the sofa arm, a frown on his face as he said "You'll forgive me for stating the obvious, but your plan does nothing to save my brother. In fact, it relies entirely upon his death."

"Easy. He's just trying to help."Marcel warned him.

"Klaus, Elijah's already dead. Now, the only thing that we can do right now is figure out whether or not that death is gonna count for something."Vincent replied.

" That's not a call any of us get to make. Especially not you."Derek stated.

"There has to be a way to save him."Gia blurted out.

"Freya, you still have the antidote we used to cure Marcel's bite?"Klaus asked Freya.

"I have it, yes. But I don't know if it'll work against the poison of the rosebush."Freya answered.

Vincent frowned "You guys aren't listening, okay? Even if we do cure Elijah, we still have a big problem, that's called the Hollow. And it's just gonna keep coming at us until it resurrects. And when that happens, we're talking about an ancient, primal power that's made flesh and blood. It will wipe out this entire city in an afternoon, and ain't a damn thing that you or anybody else here can do about it. Now, my way? We take her out while she's still a spirit. Elijah dies, but at least his death counts for something."

"No. No, I'm not willing to discuss this any further."Klaus almost shouted.

"What about the children? This thing wiped out the entire Labonair bloodline. It already got to Mia once, right? It could come after your children. Now, this is a chance, Klaus. This is probably the one chance that you got. Now you want to blow that opportunity to maybe save your brother, or do you want to do you job and save the children?"Vincent asked.

Klaus frowned at Vincent, pointing his finger towards him "Don't use the children to justify your absurd plan."

"Hey, his absurd plan is the only plan that we've got. So maybe we should do a little less fighting, and a little more thinking."Marcel replied.

"There's always a loophole. I have my mother's grimoires. I welcome you to study them with me."Freya said, getting up off the other sofa, walking towards Vincent.

Vincent hesitated before nodding "Okay."

Now, Lola was standing by the window in Klaus bedroom, staring into the sky in thought.

Lucas made slowly his way towards her as he asked "Mom?"

"Lucas, I didn't see you there, kiddo." Lola said.

"Uncle Elijah is sick, isn't he?"Lucas asked.

Lola sighed, holding her hand out for him to grab. He took it in his small one, moving closer "Uncle Elijah is very sick."

"Well, can we help him?" Lucas asked, making Lola's heart melt at how incredibly brace and selfless he was.

"We're doing everything that we can. I promise."Lola told him.

"Maybe I can help aunt Freya do a spell to make him better."Lucas suggested.

"That's very brave of you. We will save him. Go play with your sisters."Lola said.

Lucas nodded, walking away.

Lola stood up headed down the hallway, following the sound of Freya's voice "Vincent said the Ancestors can imprison the Hollow. To power their spell, an Original must die. If Elijah is going to die one way or another, we should harness his death, and then I can try placing his soul inside the pendant."

"Try? What do you mean, try?"Gia asked.

"Well, it won't be easy. We have to find him, and I'll need all of my magic." Freya said, hodling the blue pendant she had once put Finn in.

Lola gasped after receiving a vision of Elijah and said "No need. I got a vision. I saw the place where they were. I know where Elijah is."

Freya sighed "Even so, he's been poisoned for some time, there's... a chance he won't survive the process."

"But I would survive."Klaus said.

"Nik..."Lola trailed.

Klaus cut her off "If I'm the sacrifice, you can channel my death to imprison the Hollow before she kills Elijah. Yes, I'll be in the pendant, but the rest of you can find him, cure him, and bring him home."

"Nik, no. This is insane. I am not letting you do this."Kiara frowned, moving towards him.

"That evil wench cannot be killed. Left unchecked, she will come for Hope. Sacrifice me, we can save Elijah and we can defeat this thing. It's the only way. "Klaus said.

"No!"Lola yelled over him, tears filling her eyes at the thought.

"We don't have time to debate this. Work your magic, sister. It's gonna be okay."Klaus said, moving to Freya.

Kiara turned around as Klaus left the room, leaving Derek, Hayley, Ambrose, Gia, Liv, Lola and Freya. Lola felt a tear begin to roll down her cheek. She said, shaking her head "No, no. No! No way I'm losing him again. Freya. Please. There has to be another way."
