"The sun is going to set pretty soon and it's going to get cold. We should make a fire." I said and somehow Stainless Steel managed to get the fruit out of his mouth.

"Come make fire with me babes! I am all warmed up now..." The Stainless Steel trailed off as he saw Yumi holding a fruit twice as big as the previous one.

"Ok, let's talk this one out..." Stainless Steel pleaded. Then everything became like a cartoon. There was a lot of choking and muffled curses. Then Yumi somehow managed to stick the fruit in his jaws and break the human jaw limits. But I figured Stainless Steel jaws were probably unhinged already.

"Alright then, I will get the fire ready, Yumi and Silk could perhaps build some sort of cover.

"Sure thing, Cherie!" Silk said energetically.

"Who put you in charge Ling?" Yumi's voice snapped, this wasn't going to go well.

"Fine, you are the boss. Tell us what to do, and we will do it like zealous priests." I said in a sarcastic tone; but not sarcastic enough to get me killed.

"Fine, we will have it your way." Yumi sighed. I watched the two of them get to work.

"What about me Ling?" Charlotte who looked at me with kitten eyes.

"I guess you can..." I was having the most difficult time in my life determining a person' uses.

Charlotte looked like an agitated five year old.

"Gather more firewood?"

"I already gathered a hand full! And I am hungry." She stomped her ground like a five year old.

"I guess you can go and collect some berries and mushroom, but don't get out of sight."

"Ok!" she was about to run off but I held her back.

"Remember to collect the mushroom and fruits that look more...ordinary ok?"

"OK!" there is no stopping her now, and she ran off like wild gazelle. I crouched down around the wood and got to work. Fire is an important key in outdoor survival. In most cases, people die from exposure, so it's important to keep warm. I got some toilet paper from the case and set it in the middle. Then I set smaller twigs around it like a tipi, and finally the large logs on the outer circle.

After finishing setting up I thought about how to start the fire. The focusing lense would be easy but the sunlight was weakening and wouldn't be enough to start the blaze. Back to the primitive options, the hand drill. The most difficult, but most also reliable option. I got a piece of firewood, the flattest I could find, then I began on making a spindle. I found a razor among my daily necessities, I popped the blade out and I used it to sharpen the stick. It took five minutes for the wood to start smoking and another five for sparks to catch, ever so gently I lowered the stick to the toilet paper and started the fire. It spread to the twigs and I prayed to God, to please keep the wind and rain away. And it didn't, for now. A few minutes a later, the wood on the outer circle caught fire. Since I don't want sparks to be dropping everywhere, I made a stone circle around the fire. Even though I did this many time during outdoor survival training with Professor, I was proud of myself that I actually accomplished this task.

"Not bad." Yumi's voice came from behind me.

"I know, eh?"

"This is fabulous, but it would be more fabulous, if it were just me and my Cherie." Silk said with a dreamy gesture.

"So what about you ladies?" I asked. Yumi chin pointed to the direction.

"Not bad." I said. The two of them had to set up some sort of roof made of leaves, held together by some sort of net from beneath then tied it in the middle of 4 trees.

"I tied the net and all, but Yumi is really good at weaving she will make a good housewife!" Silk exclaimed. And just for a moment I saw the faintest hint of a blush from Yumi.

"Well I suppose we can..." I said, before I could say another word, Charlotte came jogging back which was a miracle in that sort of dress.

"Look what I found Ling!" she held an arm full of mushrooms and fruit too exotic to name. Out of the hundred things she bought maybe one or two looked edible.

"Nice job." I said and unconsciously I had a great urge to pat her head, which my logic told me it would be much wiser not to. Her eyes glistened even in fading light, and she smiled like an elementary girl who had just been nominated for the Nobel Prize.

"But I am sorry to break it to you that, this one and maybe this one looks fine...the rest..." her expression was like a sad puppy in the rain and once again I gave in.

"Alright, I will go look for berries and mushrooms with you." I said, with a small sigh. Both Silk and Yumi responded with a frown.

That certainly took longer than expected; by the time we were back we were exhausted. Silk and Yumi had already set up lumber seats around the campfire and were chatting. But when they saw us, they turned me.

"What took you so long?" Yumi asked.

"As you can see..." I pointed out to all the dirt on me.

"Oh, so you two had a mud fight?" Silk joked, but before I could even respond Charlotte spoke up.

"While we were collecting mushroom and berries, I tripped and fell onto Ling. Which knocked him on the ground." Charlotte said with smile. Could you not get so detailed? Something turned. I could feel the atmosphere shifting from joking to being inside the gladiator ring.

"Well, let's pretend that never happened and fill our stomachs first, agreed?" I said. That seemed to have the desired effect. I opened the backpack and dumped all the food inside onto a piece of wood that resembled a salad bowl. We ate like pack of wolves and in just a few minutes all the food was gone.

"Was that all?" Charlotte asked. I hadn't believed she could eat so much.

"I believe so." I replied.

"So is that what usually commoners eat? Because it wasn't bad at all!" Charlotte said. No one bothered to reply, and I just shrugged.

"Ling." Yumi snapped.

"What is it?" I asked.

"What are we going to do tomorrow, or do next?" she asked.

"Good question, but I don't have a good enough answer."

"I am surprised you even have an answer."

"Did you think I could make it this far, was by pure luck?" I asked.

"So you admit, some degree of luck was involved."

"But that doesn't make up for the bad luck of being part of the game..." I sighed. And immediately realized I shouldn't have said that. I turned towards Charlotte to see her puzzled expression.

"Forget about what I just said; let's focus on the future"

I paused for a moment before realizing they were waiting for me to go on.

"Alright the first thing is the water and food source. On the walk from the beach to camp I found saw several waterfalls, and one of them constantly has animals passing by. So I was thinking, Silk if you could set up traps around that area maybe we will have some meat." I suggested.

"Brilliant idea, Cherie!" Silk clasped her hands in delight.

"But..." Charlotte muttered.

"Do you something to add?" I asked.

"...killing animals is wrong!" she stood up.

"Charlotte let me ask you, are you a vegetarian?"

"Uh...uh...no." she replied sluggishly.

"Do you want to become a vegetarian?"

"If that means not killing animals!" she said loudly.

"Do you want me to remind you how much lamb skewer you ate back in China?"

"That certainly never happened!" she said with very much uncertainly.

"You ate an entire lamb that day, if I didn't stop you, you probably would have eaten the entire herd." I didn't exaggerate too much.

"Well...I guess a little meat once in a while would be fine...but promise me, don't let me watch you slaughter them!" Well, that's thing with Charlotte she is expendable in many ways, and all you have to do is point out errors in her argument.

"Next: someone needs to keep him monitored all times, Yumi I wonder if you would like that job." I said. And when I said him, I meant Stainless Steel still slumped senseless against the tree.

"Wouldn't it be just much easier if we kill him?" Yumi asked with an impassable face and it's really hard sometimes to tell if she was joking or dead serious.

"We may be living in the wild, but that doesn't make us murderers." I said.

"I was just joking. So what's the job you are going to give yourself?"

"Exploring this place further and gathering more food or useful stuff. I can take turns with your job Yumi, if you want."

"I will pass; I am not much of an explorer."

"Very well then. First thing tomorrow morning we'll be moving our home somewhere better." I said, then I realized I had just made a very huge mistake. Yumi and Silk were silent, but Charlotte wasn't accepting the reality so well. She responded to the message at first with her eyes becoming cloudy. Quickly changed to a storm grey and at last she unleashed the storm. Tears came pouring down her cheeks like a flood as she buried her face in her tiny hands. She was weeping and repeating "No, this isn't real...I want to go home..."

The rest of us looked at each other for a moment, and either of them looked like they wanted to get out of here.
