24 Oily Foes

I managed to dodge his first dozen attacks without being physically hurt, but he did a fake side slash, which turned out to be a spin slash. I did a limbo move and dodged the first knife as the next knife slightly cut my chest. Then we both resumed a healthy distance.

"I have to admit, not once in my life have I ever faced a single man in melee combat for this long." he panted.

"I haven't really stretched my muscles and bones for a long time. And you're the first one who gave me a stretch." I called back

"Who do you think will win in the other duels?" I asked, trying to buy time to regain physical strength. Surprisingly he just stood there and talked and deliberately let me regain my strength.

"My guys definitely, though I kinda like the girl wearing the Japanese costume. She's good. Kinda of a waste to kill her." Suddenly an explosion came followed by a gunshot in the distance.

"I guess that's game for them, my guys won. And you will follow will be joining them soon in hell...I guarantee you." Stainless steel said yawned.

"Yeah, very true if it wasn't the opposite way around." I said.

"I know my comrades for a dozen of years at least, and I am very clear on their skills and limits. Same question back to you how long have you known her for?"

"Not long to be honest. But I know her long enough that she can kick your friend's ass."

"We'll see, and how's the break working for you?"

"Thanks to you, I have regained my strength, also I have a surprise in store for you..."

For a moment he just stared at me like a statue. I wasn't planning on taking out my gun, but rather taking out my watch. There were ten seconds of silence and like I expected Stainless Steel burst out laughing.

"Do you think a watch can kill me? Is this some sort of joke or is it some sort of concealed weapon or bomb...or is it something far more special?" he mocked as a cold breeze cruised by.

"Like you just said its nothing but an ordinary pocket watch on the outside, but to me this means a lot...such as..." I let the watch spin till it rotated to the right angle in order to reflect of the faint orange light from the lantern into both of Stainless Steel's eyes.

"What?"

At that 0.05 second the reflection was at a perfect angle, coordinated with the timing and the strength of the wind, the light managed to blind his eyes for a moment and I charged towards him with bullet speed. When he recovered he raised his hand in defense went for his knife, I didn't give him the time as I seized his wrist and pinned it against his back. He tried to stomp on my foot but I responded by pressing my right knee forward against back and pulling his wrist further back and twisting it at the same time. He stomped on my left toes hard, and he probably broke my toe, but it was no time to whine. My left hand shot towards the pressure point behind his ear and there I pressed down as downwards and hard as possible, and trying to hold him in that place was like trying to pin down a wild buffalo. Seconds later, he stopped the resistance and dropped like a bean bag doll. I let go and just to make sure he was unconscious and wasn't faking it, I threw a hard kick to his side and there was no reaction from him. Then I limped up the stairs.

I kept my eye on the tree. Finally making sure there was no one near I walked right in front of the tree and saw the relic was still there. Cautiously I set my left leg on the nearest foot hold with my left hand reaching for the next foot hold and then I did the same for the right leg. It crumpled a thousand jolts of pain going through it. I gritted my teeth and pushed onwards. I grabbed the branch and made it tilt as the string tied to the relic slid towards me. When it was within my reach I yanked the relic from the string and put the relic on my left forefinger.

"Stop all resistance and come down from the tree! We will not harm you!" the voice came from below. I looked downwards and a saw half a dozen men wearing tuxedos surrounding the tree from all directions. I looked for the source of the voice and the voice belonged to a competitor who looked like inflated balloon wearing a tuxedo.

"Who are you? And what happens if I don't come down from the tree?"

"How dare you...!" the fat guy screamed. He was about 5 feet, and had a mop of blond hair on top of his head. His arm and legs were short and chubby and rest of his body was round. His eyes were tiny and I could barely tell his eyes were a shade of childish blue.

"Dare what?"

"I am Henry Jones! The inheritor of Jones oil industry! The greatest oil industry in the world. And I swear if you don't come down I will have no choice but to shoot you down!" he yelled as all six of his bodyguards took out handguns and pointed them at me. I remembered the current owner of the Jones oil industry was an American multibillionaire and the fact that everything he said mining being the greatest oil industry currently was true.

"I am scared, are you going to make them pull the trigger or not?" I ridiculed testing his limits.

"All you useless shit, bust his..." before he could say the next word I cut in.

"If you shot me...I won't ensure you the safety of this." I said as I took of the relic from my left ring finger and held it up for them to see. "Wow, it takes six of your armed bodyguards to kill me. You couldn't even kill me unarmed, and you call yourself the inheritor of the greatest mining industry." I waited for him to give a reply.

"Is this scrub challenging me? And its oil scrub"

"Don't get me wrong, I just can't believe the inheritor of the greatest mining industry is afraid to face a scrub in combat."

"I am noooooot scared!" he stuttered.

"If you are too scared then tell your bodyguards to go ahead and shoot me, and be the coward you were born to be."

"I'm not a coward!"

"Sir he is clearly taunting you! Give us the order to shoot him!"

"Don't shoot! You dumbasses!" He barked out. All his bodyguards lowered their guns as expected.

"Good, now take a gun from one of your bodyguards and I will let you take a free shot at me!" I shouted waving my arms around.

"Y-you will regret challenging me scrub!" he shouted seizing a gun from the nearest of his guards. It slipped, not neatly into his grip but like soap when you grab it with wet hands. Finally he managed to get a firm grip on it pointing it at me. It looked more like a struggling trout than a gun in his shaking hands though... maybe the fish would have been steadier.

"Oh, it seems that underestimated you. Now to fulfill my words, pull that trigger and shoot...or are you a coward?"

"I am not a coward!"

"I don't think those big boy pants fits you."

"Shut up!"

"You should go back to your mother's teats. Coward."

"Ughhhhhh! I am going to shoot...and kill you now!"

"Then pull the trigger!"

The explosion deafened me, I didn't flinch though. He missed me by a mile I knew he would. For several seconds nothing happened then Henry slumped to ground unconscious. Before any of his bodyguards could make a move, streams of white fluid shot out of nowhere. They seem to solidify in midair before making contact with three of the bodyguards. They wrapped themselves around them and they fell to the ground like statues. The others managed to take out their guns, but before they could even realize they had no target a figure came out of the shadows. After a moment of whistling wind Yumi stood above the remaining guards wielding a stick. The next moment Silk came out from the shadows. They were both in one piece.

"How did the two of you?..." I was a little stunned for a moment, but I calmed myself and continued speaking. "The two of you do? I had mock faith in you two earlier. I didn't expect the two of you to come back alive..."

"Who do you think we are? And get down from that tree already, you are being disrespectful to this place and its people." Yumi said.

"Sorry just a sec." I replied climbing down.

"One sec is up." She snapped.

"I am getting down alright." I said clambering down. After 34 pounding heartbeats I was worried Yumi would skewer me for I got to the floor and turned to them.

"Were worried about me darling?" cooed Silk.

"Honestly a little."

"Yay!"

"Maybe not."

Silk's face fell. "So are you ok?" she asked

"I feel better than those bodyguards here...and speaking of the bodyguards..." We all turned our attention to Henry pretending to be unconscious while doing his best to crawl away. We stepped in front of him and stared down at him. Poor guy was sweating a flood and trembling an earthquake.

"So who's this?" Yumi asked.

"Ah, allow me to introduce you to Henry Jones. The heir to the world's greatest oil industry Jones oil," I said dragging him to his feet. "He is the one who paid the mercenary who was responsible for Kenai's death. What do you want to do with him Yumi?"

"Boil him alive." Yumi said it with such coldness that I felt a chill run down my spine.

"No... iiiii don'tttt wan t to be boiled alive! I want to stay away from this scary woman! I want to go home!"

"How about this, you give me three things and I won't hand you over to her? Promise?"

"Promise...just make that scary woman go away."

"I...am afraid that not possible but listen carefully. I know you don't want anything to do with this game right?"

"Yes."

"So hand over your competitor ring."

He obeyed like a dog handing it to me.

"Now can I leave?"

"Two more things. I want you to give me all your relics and clues."

"I don't have a relic...and I only have the original clue." He passed me a piece of paper.

"How much do you want me to pay you? Name the price, my father would bail me out at any price..."

"Well the last thing is..." my sentence stopped there as I threw a straight punch towards his face that made him roll back twice.

"I am sick of people like you. People like you are cancer of this world. People can own money, but you are owned by money. Now I will let the Japanese authorities take care of you." I said turning away.

"I will be at the court and see justice served." Yumi said.

"No use, he only going to be kept for a few days at most, there is no evidence point out the crimes he did." I said.

"I will still see to through until the matter is settled."

"People like him will never be settled. Don't try to achieve perfection Yumi, I know you could do better than that." As I began to walk away.

She didn't say anything for a moment, curious I turned around and saw her smiling.

"Yes, I suppose you are right...no you are right." She remained smiling she was beautiful smiling...strange I never thought of her that way till now.

"Alright then, I suppose we should get going now, I don't want to get tangled with the local authorities. And do you have a hot bath in your house? I feel like I could seriously use one." I said trying my luck.

"I guess you deserve it. And I would also like a hot bath." Yumi said.

"I will join the bath too!" Silk said.

"Forget about it." I said.
