Level 1: Prologue

No Ones P.O.V.

A little five year old girl walked nervously around a building as she held tightly onto her mothers hand. As she came closer, to her desired destination, her eyes widened in both excitement and fear.

This was little Bianca Rose Anderson. Aka GoldenFlames on the leaderboards of many arcade games.

She was at her first Pro Gaming Championship for minors. The little blonde firecrackers as quite the knack for gaming and had managed to qualify as a competitor for a Junior Pro Card.

If she won, she would one of the highest ranked girls her age around the entire globe.

If she won.

The possibility of losing terrified her to no ends. She had to win. To prove to the whole world that girls could do anything a boy could.

Normally, she would be confident in her gaming skills, but today wasn't a normal day.

"Daddy, I wanna go home." She said softly, tugging on her fathers shirt to get his attention.

Her father squat down so he was eye level with his daughter.

"Honey, this is your dream. What happened to all that "I can't wait! I'm totally gonna win!" attitude from the car?" He chuckled.

"It went away..." She mumbled softly, looking down.

"Hey," he said, lifting the tiny blondes chin so she was looking him in the eye, "You are going to do great. And even if you don't win, I will always be proud of you." He smiled at her encouragingly, earning a small smile from her.

The little girl leapt forward to give her dad a hug. "Thank you." She whispered.

Her father released her and held her by the shoulders. "Now go on over there and get ready to play." He smiled, lightly pushing her in the direction of the other children there to compete.

She gave a nod and ran off to the small stage set up for all of the competitors. In the midst of her excitement, she hadn't realized that another kid was running in the same direction as her. They crashed into each other and fell on the floor.

"Ow!" She cried out, holding her forehead in pain. "Who did that?" She demanded as she stood up.

"Sorry... that was me." A voice said.

Bianca looked down to see a small boy around her age on the floor. He had dark brown hair, freckles, and a warm smile on his face.

He stood up and held out his hand to shake. "My name is Conor aka KidFury. I'm in the competition." He said, still offering the handshake.

She just stared blankly at his hand. It was strangely familiar. It reminded her of something but she just couldn't put her finger on it...

"Earth to girl I just met." The boy said, waving his hand in front of her face.

She smacked it away with her lips pursed in annoyance and a roll of her eyes.

"Girl you just met has a name. And it's Bianca. Aka GoldenFlames. Also a competitor." She said smugly, crossing her arms in front of her chest and holding her head high with a cocky smile.

Suddenly, she heard laughter and her eyes snapped open. She found the boy, or Conor, was the source. He was clutching his stomach and his face was turning red as he continued laughing.

She put her hands on her hips and narrowed her eyes at him. "What's so funny?" She demanded.

"It's just, I could've sworn you said you're a competitor. Girls don't play video games." He explained once he regained his composure.

"What?!" She snapped. "Girls can so play video games! In fact, a girl can play video games just as good as any boy." She declared, stamping her foot and crossing her arms.

"Whoa, don't kill me. I was just saying I've never seen a girl play video games before, geez." He said, rolling his eyes at her little outburst.

"Oh." She said, blushing as she uncrossed her arms. "Sorry about that then." She apologized. "It's okay. Besides, I'm still gonna beat you in the competition!" He said, shrugging nonchalantly. "No, you are not! I'm totally gonna kick your butt and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it!" She shot back.

He was about to say something back when the sound of feedback hit their ears.

"Attention, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to our Junior Gamers Tournament. All competitors, please report to the stage. The competition will start in ten minutes." A man announced.

"Come on now, honey. You can talk to your girlfriend after the competition." A lady said as she grabbed Conor's hand.

"She's not my girlfriend, mom!" He whined as she dragged him along behind her.

"Oh please. You wish I was your girlfriend. But then again, who wouldn't?" She said, placing her hand under her chin in thought.

"I don't know, maybe every single guy on the planet." He shot back. She shot him a death glare and walked off towards the stage.

"I like her, Conor. She's a keeper." His mother whispered, giving a small nod of approval. "MOM!" He whined loudly. "Oh, just go to the stage already."

About 20 five year olds were lined up in front of small monitors.

They were all prepared to play against one another for the chance to win a Junior Pro Card.

Bianca nervously inspected the competition.

"They don't look so tough..." She muttered to herself.

"Is everyone ready to start?" The announcer asked, looking around for confirmation.

Everyone nodded eagerly and got into gaming position.

"Okay, then. This is what you've all been waiting for. Now, ready... set... GAME!"

Everyone immediately leapt into action. A few were pushing ahead while some were already losing.

Bianca had managed to snag first place. All she had to do was stay there until either everyone else dropped or the game ended.

"And it looks like GoldenFlames is in the lead and going strong. Will she be able to hold onto that lead for- wait a second. KidFury is catching up folks. He might just snag first place."

Bianca looked up for a split second over at the bit she's encountered earlier. He was catching up to her.

She furiously began jamming the buttons on her controller and but her lip nervously.

"KidFury and GoldenFlames are going head-to-head. Who will win?" The announcer exclaimed in excitement.

Bianca could feel everyone's eyes on her as well as Conor. She really, really, really hoped she won.

"The game is almost over, folks... And it looks like our winner is..." He dragged the word out as he waited for one five-year-old to win.

"BOTH OF THEM!" He shouted at the exciting turn of events.

"WHAT?" Bianca and Conor shouted together simultaneously.

She turned to the large screen displaying the scores. Both of their Gamer Tags were on the leaderboard for first place...

Making it a tie.

"It looks like KidFury and GoldenFlames will have to share the limelight." He chuckled.

A pretty blonde woman in a red dress walked up to both of them and handed them each their own Pro Cards and a small golden trophy for them to share.

Confusion was written all over her face as Bianca stared at Conor.

"WHOO! That's my daughter!" She heard her dad call out. "Mine too!" Her mother cheered. "Yeah! Go Bianca!" Her sisters cheered.

She smiled brightly as she watched her family celebrate her "win".

She pumped her fists up to the sky and looked up with a victorious grin.

"I AM A CHAMPION!" She exclaimed.

"C-congratulations..."

She turned to her left and saw Conor looking down, rubbing an invisible spot on the floor with his shoe.

"Thanks." She replied. "You were pretty good. She complimented. "You did, too." He said. "But... you still didn't win!" She teased. "Well, neither did you!" He fired back. "Still, you can't call me a loser because you lost too." She smirked. "Well, you made fun of me for not winning, so HA!" He exclaimed, pointing a finger at her as if he'd just made the greatest discovery of all time. "Well, yes, but not for being a loser. Thus meaning that you did not win. Although I also did not win, it doesn't automatically translate to me being a loser." She explained, arms crossed over her chest triumphantly.

She waited for him to respond.

"Well, I-" He started, but stopped when she rose a challenging eyebrow at him.

"Well, anyways, I can't wait for the next competition. I'll get to kick your butt." Bianca declared, smiling smugly. "No way! I totally would've won. I just felt sorry for you and decided to let you win." He shouted. "In fact, I challenge you to a rematch."

"Game on!" She responded as they shook hands, a competitive look on her face.

"Bianca, come on! You can talk to your new boyfriend later." Her sister, Witney, yelled. "Yeah, just tell him you have to go." Witney's twin, Lindsay, added with a giggle, high-fiving her twin.

"He's not my boyfriend!" She shouted, stamping her foot in anger.

"You're not my type anyways." Conor snorted smugly, crossing his arms over his chest and rolling his eyes.

"Humph!" Bianca scoffed, walking away to join her family.

"I don't remember giving him my stamp of approval." Witney snickered. "Yeah. When did we say you can date?" Lindsay teased.

Bianca's face flushed red as she stared at the two.

"Witney, Lindsay! Stop teasing your sister! She doesn't need to be thinking about that stuff yet!" Her dad scolded.

"But when are you bringing him over so we can meet him?" Her mom giggled.

"I'm never speaking to any of you again for the rest of my life!" Bianca exclaimed, angrily stomping away towards the car.
