Secret's Out

** I had fixed it in the earlier chapter where I put the Ned was dead.

Everything that morning had started like the one before. It wasn't until Catelyn had gotten a letter she wished she hadn't that things started to change.

Catelyn walks alone through the camp. Several bannermen bow to her respectfully as she passes. She reaches her destination, a small forest outside camp and collapses in grief by one of the trees, crying and sobbing. She hears some screams and the sound of a sword slashing wood nearby. As she gets closer, she realizes it's Robb, fully armoured, slashing his sword against a tree while crying.

"Robb. Robb! You've ruined your sword," She called out, walking towards him. Robb drops his sword to the ground, closing the gap between them. She hugs him and caresses his neck, trying to console him.

"Shh! Shh! Shh," she tries to hush his cries of despair.

"I'll kill them all. Every one of them. I will kill them all," Robb exclaimes in anger.

"My boy. They have your sisters. We have to get the girls back. And then we will kill them all," Catelyn said rubbing his hair.

"Arabella doesn't know, does she," Robb asked.

"No I have not told her yet. I fear her anger would cause issues," Catelyn told him.

"Arabella deserves to know, mother. This was her father as well. She will react much worse if she finds out from someone else," Robb told her.

"Robb, we have much more to discuss in private, regarding your sister," Catelyn says.

After the two cried in their private moment, they decided it was time to go to Arabella and discuss many issues that had come to light.

They arrived in Arabella's tent. She and Amelia were sitting on her bed books in both of their hands.

"Arabella we have to talk," Catelyn said.

"What's wrong," Arabella said, closing her book and looking up at her mother.

"Amelia can stay, but I need her to promise to keep what is said in this tent to herself. I know you trust her, and I trust you. But I need her word," Catelyn questioned.

"My loyalty is to Arabella, I would never betray her. I will keep this between us. Just as I always have," Amelia states.

"Robb, sit down. I have to tell you something about Arabella. Then we will tell Arabella what has happened," Catelyn said motioning for the boy to sit at the table before having the girls join him so that all three were sitting.

"Nearly seventeen years ago your father brought back a pair of children," Catelyn started.

"No mother, he brought back a child, Jon," Robb told his mother.

"Robb, do not interrupt me. We told you a different story, along with your siblings about the day your father came home. We did this to protect Arabella and Jon. Though I was not entirely sure until very recently why your father brought them home with him. Your father wrote Arabella a letter, before she was married about what had happened all those years ago. He had written one to Jon as well, but I am not sure what had happened to this letter. Arabella has only recently read this letter, and it confirmed my suspicions. Robb, Arabella is not really your sister, nor is Jon your brother. You must not tell anyone about this. Swear to me, Robb," Catelyn said looking at Robb a stern look upon her face.

"Mother, what are you trying to tell me," he questioned.

"Promise me Robb. Keep this secret between us," she urges him again.

"Yes I promise, but mother who are they really," Robb questions.

"Your cousins," Catelyn tells him. Robb looks at her confused.

"Cousins? But Brandon had no heirs, and Benjen took the black," Robb asked confused.

"They are not the children of your father's brothers. They are the children of his sister, Lyanna. The children of Lyanna and Rhaegar Targaryen, born out of their love. They are the true heirs to the Iron Throne. Your father wanted to protect what was left of his sister, of his family. He did what he thought was best. He took in Arabella and Jon and gave them new identities. They were no longer Alys and Aegon Targaryen," Catelyn explained.

"How long have you both known," he questioned.

"Not since after I got to camp. Robb I swear, I had no idea. It was a complete shock. Especially seeing my hair, and not knowing what was going on. I only read the letter after mother told me too," Arabella stated, "But this does not change anything. You are still my brother, and I do not want the throne. I can promise you, and tell you Jon would feel the same way".

"Why tell me now," he questions.

"Because this game is getting closer to the end, and she's afraid that the ending may not be the one we are all hoping for. She wants you to know in case you need extra help. She knows that my true self will get you more followers. There are many people who are still loyal to the Targaryens, and will come to aid me if the need arises. She also knows that the Lannisters will try to come after me, if Jaime was to ever go free. For two reasons. One being the truth, and the other for the children I carry. Either way in this war I am a piece of it. I can either be a pawn or a crucial piece if used correctly," Arabella explains.

"I refuse to use you in this game. But I will keep you safe, you are my sister no matter what," He tells her.

"Arabella, Robb and I have something to tell you as well," Catelyn continues. Robb takes Arabella's hand, holding it tight.

"Your father was murdered. They beheaded him for treason in the capital. We still do not know of Sansa or Arya, but I promise you. We will get our revenge," Catelyn tells the girl before her. Arabella's gaze falls to the table. She knows they are expecting her to break, but she can't. She can't break, because she has more to worry about now more than ever.

"The north remembers," Arabella states looking up her eyes filled with the fierceness of a dragon. If only Arabella knew how things were about to change, and it was not all for the better.
