Gajeels POV

Gosh, who knew how freaky that car ride would be? For almost an hour, Shrimp was staring out of the window, and each time I tried to speed up she'd suddenly make a weird 'woosh' sound.
"You okay?"
"Hm? Well aside from my arm and leg I'm good."
"That's not what I meant."
"Okay then. But it's what you implied."
"Shut your mouth."
"Then how will I breathe?"
"Your nose."
"I have a cold."
"No you don't."
"How do you know?"
"Because its almost summer."
"And?"
"And you don't get colds at this time of year!"
"Well I do."
"I bet you also overheat in winter."
"Only once."
"How?"
"Fever."
"You sound like Flame Brain."
"Who?"
"Natsu."
"Oh, the guy Lucy likes!"
"What did you say?"
"Nothing!"
"Gihihi! I can annoy him loads!"
"Why does he like her too?"
"I guess so."
"Oh! Yay!! This is so exciting!" She looked at me. "We'll have to get them together!"
"We? Excuse me?"
"Yes we!! Because..." She pointed to her broken bones. " if you haven't noticed, I'm in a bit of a pickle. So I need someone to help. Good thing I have my own butler!"
"I swear when your bones heal I'm going to..." I bit down on my tongue. I didn't want to make Shrimp uncomfortable on the second day. Maybe on the fifth day, then she'll realise how scary I can be... I'll play with her for the time being.
"What's wrong butler?"
"Nothing."
"Ah I see! You're planning on how we should get ten together!"
That was all I heard for the rest of the car ride.

"Mr Redfox and Miss McGarden! Why are you so late to school?" Miss Mavis smiled at us.
"Sorry Miss!" Levy dragged herself towards the front desk. "The traffic was awful and the car was too slow."
"Oh, I see. This is your first time being late Miss McGarden, but Mr Redfox was the cause..." Miss Mavis typed something into her computer. She then produced two pieces of paper which I knew well. "Detention for you both. Hope to see you here at 12:30!"
"We miss lunch?!" Levy wailed.
"Get used to it." I grinned. "This is how your butler has fun."

Levy's POV

First, second and third period passed by in what felt like seconds.
"What's wrong Levy?" Lucy nudged me at the start of lunch. "You don't look too good."

"I have detention."

"What? From being late?" Lucy folded her arms. "That's unfair."

"But Gajeel was the reason," I tried to smile, but I'd never gotten a detention before. "So she just gave us detention."

Lucy hugged me before Gajeel took me to the main office to see Miss Mavis. Since it was so far and we had to get there quick, we stopped at the medical room to ask for a wheelchair. Porlysurica, the school nurse, was scarier than I imagined... She threw books at Gajeel because he wasn't ill... and when she found out that he was the reason why I had broken bones, well... she threw a couple of needles at him. I don't think that nurses should do that.

Once we'd gotten a wheelchair, we were already late for our detention. Gajeel kept teasing me and saying that we were going to get more because of it. So I threatened him.

"If we do, I'm going to get Lucy."

"What'll bunny girl do?"

"She's best friends with Erza."

"I-I'm not scared of Erza. Only Flame Brain and Vanilla Ice are."

"Uh huh?" 

"Stop trying to act all tough."

"What?"

"Face it, you're a Shrimp and just because I have to help you around you think that you're the top of the food chain huh?!"

"N-No," I felt a cold breeze pass by me.

"Well that's how you're acting. Now just shut up!" 

We didn't speak for the rest of that day.

Gajeel's POV

"Gajeel! And Miss McGarden!" Gramps' jaw fell to the floor when he saw that both of us were in detention. "Both of you in detention! Maybe Miss McGarden you'd like a different helper? Mira-Jane or Erza have both willingly offered."

"Thank you sir, I probably will." She said with an annoyed tone in her voice. She was acting tough, but I knew from the second we met, she was nothing but a worthless Shrimp.

"Okay, here are the rules Miss McGarden. Gajeel, just go sit down." I didn't need to be told twice. Whilst Shrimp was listening to Gramps, I sat down at my usual desk and added another line to my detention tally. It was my .... 108th detention. Cool!

"So, now you know. I'm going to leave this room, which just so happens to be soundproof so I can't hear you... at all."

"I get it sir." Levy smiled as Gramps left the room. Then we were alone. Levy  took one look around the room and sat as far away from me as possible.

"Scared? Pathetic."

Levy glared at me, then took her broken book out of her bag. She sighed and muttered something, then a look of realization sprang upon her and she started rooting around in her bag again. I watched in confusion for about five minutes until she took out something like a manuscript and started reading it. She looked really into it too. A light emerged from my pocket and I looked to see that someone was calling me.

"What do you want? I'm in detention."

"Really?! But you said you were going to fight me? Are you too chicken to do it?" Flame Brain started ranting about our fight.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"Eh? Oh, it was Gray wasn't it. Sorry man!" Click. Peace and quiet, finally.

"Hey, do you mind being quieter please?" McNerd was looking at me across the room. "I need to finish reading this chapter today."

"Why the rush Shrimp?"

"I have to put it back without Lucy noticing."

"Why?"

"She's writing it, and I love it so much but I'm not meant to read it... IRIS IS AN AMAZING CHARACTER THOUGH AND I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS TO HER!" She started blabbing on about something... I'm glad I put my earphones in.

"Mr Redfox? Lunch is over!" I opened my eyes and saw that the room was filled with students who I didn't know. "Get to your classes!"

"Hmph, Whatever." Shrimp wasn't in the room, but my next lesson was with her anyway. I'd see her then. Wait, why did I care so much? As I left, I saw Wendy scurry towards me.

"Ack! Gajeel, please move!" I moved aside for the young girl.

"Wendy! Wait up!" I saw Romeo running after her. "Girls, huh?" He shook his head at me and entered the classroom.

"That kid never gives up."

"Gajeel?" Juvia tapped me on the shoulder. "Why are you not in lessons?"

"Detention, I forgot the time. Why're you not in lessons?"

"Juvia isn't in her lesson because Gray-sama's not in." She looked away. "Juvia cannot complete her science project without her beloved partner."

"Okay then. See you." Waving, I left her alone and wandered towards my science class.

"You're science projects should be almost done now. You have one week left to finish it." The teacher, Macao, sat down at his desk and opened up his magazine. I recognized Mira-Jane on the front, best friends with everyone including most of the teachers! Mira was probably the school's most popular girl, being a model as well as an over-achiever.

"Gajeel!" Ugh, I wish that I could just go home. "Have you finished your conclusion about our experiment?" Cana threw an eraser at me.

"No I haven't, I thought you said you would."

"I said that I was going to down a couple of barrels of beer... I don't do work."

"Neither do I." Cana, the school's alcoholic. Nobody can drink more than her. Not even Gildarts, the PE teacher. "What're we going to do now?"

"You could always research how much alcohol she can take in 10 minutes!" Freed and Bickslow sniggered from a nearby desk. Cana looked over at them and smirked.

"17 barrels."

Woah. They shut up and turned around.

"Okay then, all we need to do is write that as our estimate and carry out this plan!" Yikes, that was an estimate!?

By the time classes ended, I realised that I hadn't seen Levy since detention. I decided to look around the school for her, but everywhere I looked she wasn't there.

I searched the library, asked Miss Mavis if she'd seen her. Heck, I'd even checked the toilets! (And I got kicked out by Erza, literally).

Eventually, I caught up to Flame Brain and Bunny Girl.

"Have you guys seen Levy? I'm meant to give her a lift back."

"Hm? Oh she's gone to Juvia's." Lucy smiled. "Why, are you jealous she's chosen someone else over you?"

"No, I'm glad to not have to take her home."

"Okay then, let's go Natsu." Lucy walked off, but Natsu stared at me.

"What?"

"You don't like Levy...."

"No, I don't."

"You probably have a crush on her. So you love her. Is that how this logic works Luce?"

If Lucy didn't rush back and drag Natsu away, I would've beaten him to a pulp. 

It's probably better that Levy went home with Juvia. I'm the worst person to be around.  I shoved my hands in my pockets and made my way to the car park.
