BRACCA
THE SHIPBREAKING YARD

On the planet Bracca, thousands of pieces of ship material lay about. They've all been cut or melted off by members of The Scrapper Guild. Amongst those members, there was one in particular that — like the rest, didn't stand out. He made sure of that.

Cal Kestis had been in hiding for the last five years ever since Order Sixty-Six was implemented. The former Padawan was currently on a train with his friend, Prauf, who had to have been at least thirty years older than him (or more). The two sat in silence.

Cal made a stupid mistake. He used the Force. Not to say he didn't regret using it to save his friend from an untimely death, but it was still stupid on his end. He hadn't used the Force in quite some time for a reason. The Empire was still hunting for the remaining Jedi and other Force-sensitives.

Now he sat, anxious to get out and away from Bracca for the time being. He had saved up enough credits and of course, that favor he could cash in with Tabbers to give him a place to crash (especially after that mess he had to clean up for him). All he had to do was get back to his place and grab his emergency bag.

What would've happened next is completely unknown.

The train came to an abrupt stop and the hairs on the back of Cal's neck rose in fear. Had they found him? Did they know it was him? Was he about to get all these people killed? Could he prevent this? His thoughts were cut short as he walked out into the rain only to be met face-to-face with a Purge Trooper. The redhead shifted his eyes from the trooper and looked up to see a TIE Experimental M-3 Warhead land beside a TIE Reaper Attack Lander.

As he walked he watched as the top hatch of the TIE opened and someone appeared from inside. She jumped, and the mud underneath her boots flew upwards. The cargo bay door of the Reaper opened and another person wearing a similar outfit appeared. Only this one was much larger. In that moment, Cal wasn't sure if he could take them on. But the adrenaline that pumped in his veins screamed that he could.

The scrappers lined up and the Purge Troopers gathered on all sides of them. The two stalked toward them and Cal felt uncomfortable. Even though he couldn't see their eyes, he felt like they were staring at them in a way that could only be described as a predator stalking their prey.

"Is this all of them?" the shorter one asked.

"Yes, Second Sister," a Purge Trooper replied.

The Second Sister tilted her head up in a manner that said, "Fear me" and Cal watched as her head moved, most likely scanning every single one of them.

"We seek a dangerous fugitive. This is no common anarchist but a devotee of the treasonous Jedi Order."

Cal's jaw clenched as the Second Sister walked toward them, her black helmet lowering down at them, allowing the red line where her eyes should be, to glow in the dark rainy sky.

"Failure to turn over this traitor will result in a charge of sedition."

Cal didn't dare to look them in the eyes. A plan had begun forming in his mind. Damn if he felt like he couldn't take them down. He had no choice. The hidden lightsaber underneath his dirty blue and orange worker poncho grew heavier as she continued.

"Turn yourself in or everyone present shall face summary execution."

The Purge Troopers activated their weapons and pointed them at the group. Cal had no more time.

"I think it's time someone came forward," Prauf said.

Cal extended his hand. No words came out, but his eyes begged for his friend not to say anything.

"I-I've been working on this heap a long time... Way before the war. We refit and rebuilt ships. Best in the galaxy."

Cal's right arm slowly extended behind his back and his fingers felt around until they touched a hilt. He tightened his grip around it.

"Then came the Empire," Prauf continued. "And engineers became scrappers. The workers... Just started getting worked.

"Prauf," Cal said, after gathering the courage to speak. His arm moved, and the lightsaber was tucked beside his upper thigh whilst still hidden behind his poncho.

"But we all know the truth. We're just...Too afraid to say it."

Cal watched in horror as his friend got closer to the Second Sister.

"To the Empire," Prauf gestured to the Second Sister, "we're all just expendable."

The next few seconds were blurred together.

"Yes," the Second Sister moved swiftly as she took a few steps forward and unclipped her saber from her belt. "You are."

A red hue appeared and Cal watched as the light in his friend's eyes dimmed.

"NO!"

His arm thrashed out and he activated his lightsaber, before angrily taking a swing at the Second Sister.

That was his first mistake.

A second blade appeared. That was when Cal noticed it was a double-bladed lightsaber.

"What's this? A lightsaber?"

Within a few seconds, he'd been pushed back by the Force and lifted above the ground.

"I found the Jedi," the other sister, Cal presumed, said.

Then, the shock wore off and his finger got trigger-happy as he activated his saber before the sister let go.

They had thrown him off the cliff.

A FEW MINUTES EARLIER

Diane blinked and for a moment thought that the plan hadn't worked out. But the angel sat up and stared into a dirty window in front of her. Upon seeing the face in the mirror, Diane smiled.

Without anyone knowing, the girl had died peacefully in her sleep in the moving...erm, 'train' as one called it. Diane had successfully possessed the female vessel.

"Skya."

A hand grabbed her shoulder causing Diane to look at the female mortal beside her.

"Y-Yes?" Diane answered, shocked by how the girl's voice sounded. The only way the angel could describe it was like a silk cloth. Well, if the silk cloth had rough edges and was cut unevenly.

"I'm gonna go next door for a while, okay?"

Diane nodded her head and watched as the mortal disappeared behind a door. The angel looked down to view what the girl, Skya, had been wearing. The blue and orange poncho stood out. The angel had never seen such a thing and the dark-colored pants and boots made her frown. Diane hadn't realized just how dull everything was from above.

Suddenly the train stopped. The next thing Diane knew she was being pushed off of the train by a mortal in a white and black armored suit. The angel followed the crowd and stood in line beside them.

She watched as events unfolded in front of her.

"To the Empire," Prauf gestured to the Second Sister, "we're all just expendable."

Diane felt her eyes widen as she watched this Second Sister kill another human being. The Jedi they had spoken of charged toward them and she watched the redheaded boy get defeated as they held his body over the cliff.

What Diane did could only be described as irrational and dangerous. But then again, so was ending up here in the first place.

Diane used the mortal vessel. Her angelic grace had healed it from its wounds and illnesses. It shaped the vessel into the body of a soldier to help accommodate the angel.

This is how she was able to run fast, passing the so-called Empire workers, and jump down to save the redheaded boy from death. Diane felt her wings extend from behind and used them to speed down to him. She grabbed the flailing mortal boy and held him close. His green eyes stared at her in confusion and bewilderment.

The two crashed through and Diane used her wings to wrap around him to help lessen the fall. Unfortunately, Diane felt like this was going to hurt her more than it would him.

The angel was right.

As they landed she turned, causing him to fall on top of her. She clenched her teeth as her shoulder blades made contact with the metal beneath her. Her wings unwrapped themselves and the boy stared at her in awe.

"How did you do that?" he asked.

Diane tilted her head and before she could speak, she heard voices beside them.

"What was what?"

"Check out the disturbance."

The boy stood up first, his 'light saber' held behind him. He held his hand out to her and not knowing what to do, Diane remembered something she witnessed on another planet.

The boy looked at her weirdly as she turned his hand over...and kissed it.
