Libra's POV
I was on my way to the penthouse now on the streets of New York City. I and a few others live there as well with Orion, our boss. It was just ten of us. When I made it to my destination, I get out of my car and slam it shut.
My phone buzzed as I was walking inside the lobby on the first floor, and I could see that it was just a text message from Taurus.
Taur
< where are you? orion's waiting
< he's starting to get mad now. hurry the hell up, Lib
rushing me makes me want to walk slower. i'm downstairs, i should be up there in 30 seconds>
I roll my eyes and get inside the elevator, clicking the up button to the 6th floor. I check out the black new ink on my forearm covered in plastic wrap so it wouldn't burn so bad or get infected. My phone buzzed again. I only put it on silent. Taurus and Orion can wait a few seconds.
When I made it to the 6th floor, I could see Taurus already pacing in the hallway with his phone by his ear. By the looks of it, he looked more than pissed right now. The sound of the elevator had him alert, so he automatically looked at me.
He shoved his phone down in his back pocket as I walked out of the elevator with a smirk. "What took you so long?" he asks me in a frustrated tone that I did not want to hear today.
I walk passed him and hold my arm up, so he could see my new tattoo. "What'd you think?"
"You went out to get a tattoo?! Orion has something important to tell us apparently!" Taurus nags, his eyebrows furrowing in annoyance.
I roll my eyes at him and went to Orion's office. Taurus was following up behind me, still nagging under his breath.
When I got there, everybody turned to me. As in everybody, I meant Aries, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Scorp, Aquarius, Pisces, and Orion. Orion looked a bit furious with me, but he decided not to yell at me. Thank God.
Orion was the boss, as I mentioned before. He was the one to send us out on missions and was quick to find people. The man had gray hair. It looked translucently cesious due to the fact the thick grayness of his hair looked like it had a light coat of blue. Orion was in his mid-40s. He didn't look extremely old since he still works out and was cautious of his health for his age. He was still an active man. Just a few wrinkles, bad eyesight, and a temper of a mistreated mutt.
Aries was a hot-headed redhead. The slightest thing can make him super destructive in an instant. I knew better than to mess with him. We all did. He was straightforward and so vague at the same time. There were things he said to purposely confuse us to get off his back. And things to make us realize the things he wanted us to realize. If he were feeling anything else, we wouldn't have known unless he wanted us to.
Taurus, who was still behind me, is my best friend. We've been best friends since for a good six years and made our adult lives lead somehow as bandits. He was a player and had no shame of it. He's physically stronger than all of us-something that both Aries and Scorpio envied. Only Scorpio could admit it. Aries was more in denial about it.
Cancer was the girl with curly brown hair that went right above her shoulders. She was cool most times yet also kind of crabby. She and I don't really talk, and that goes for Taurus too. She has hated us ever since four years ago for 'ruining her innocence.' She was going to find out either way. We just helped her have a glimpse of the real world. She's been learning to adapt ever since.
Leo was also my best friend. She was kind of like Aries with a temper but hers was rather controlled than his. She also was the girliest and tomboyish at the same time. She hung out with guys more than the girls, but she'll forever have her girl moments-even around me and Taur. She was also a strong girl. Emotionally and physically. She was great at controlling her emotions well such as anger or sadness, but when she would show any of those, it was the only time we can ever take that girl seriously. Trust me. It's not pretty.
Virgo was more on the logical side. She used her words rather than weapons or fists to have anyone to quiet down. But let me tell you, she was a badass when she needed to be. Her logical personality is the main reason we're still alive. Everyone knew better than to doubt her. She was capable of many things-even things she's not willing to do. She was always digging into things. No, she wasn't nosy. She was just determined to know things that interests her. She had to understand things and even people before she allowed herself to meddle.
Scorpio, on the other hand, was mean. He was careless and impulsive. If he wanted something to go his way, usually he finds a way to get it. He took things extremely personal, even when he acted like he couldn't care. He was also a lustful sex addict. I guess his 'bad boy' vibe makes the girls swoon over him all the time. Scorpio and I rarely talked and it was mainly because he gave me bad vibes. He only had one friend he was close to and that was Aquarius.
Aquarius was the guy with the brown curly hair. He was weird. He didn't say weird things, but they way he interacted with people was either awkward or smooth. One second he's there: the life of the party. And the second you start thinking you were close with the guy, he was emotionally detatched. He could be in the same room with anybody, but he just wasn't there. I never knew if he did it on purpose. He was also a humble guy. Like Scorpio and Taurus, he was much of a player too but never bragged about it as much as those two would.
And then there was the blue haired girl, Pisces. Almost everyone called her Coraline, thanks to an old friend of ours who decided to leave the gang. Pisces was sweet, yet passionate. She loved the feeling of something strong and powerful. She could change a simple disagreement into something explosive just because she felt so deeply about a topic―which was why Orion hated when she would be so disrespectful towards him. She also had a love for guns which was really creepy in a way. I wouldn't have guessed her out of all people to be the most psychotic.
I stand to be inbetween Pisces and Virgo now. Taurus managed to squeeze himself between me and Pisces so he was beside her and me.
"Need anything, Orion?" I ask, nervously picking at the plastic wrap around my arm.
Orion only side eyed me now, probably upset I got here a few minutes late. "Yes, actually I do. We're gonna have to recruit more members here in the Galactics. Turns out, the nine of you obviously aren't enough."
"Are you saying we're not enough?" Aries asks, his voice tilting toward taking offense than being defensive.
"Are you dumb?" Scorpio asks. "He seriously just said that." I see Aries roll his eyes at the Dominican guy.
Orion only shook his head. "I hate to say it, but none of you aren't enough right now. As you know, the Elites are trying to throw us under, and we can't let that happen. They're only gaining more people and weapons. We can't let them win, and we won't."
"Wow, look at you," Virgo says, her lips upturning to a smirk. "You sound extra professional when you aren't yelling at us all the time."
A few of us laughed and nodded in agreement. It was rare for Orion not to yell at us. I guess he finally took a chill pill today.
"Fine," I say, trying to get us back on topic. "You want more people. So what the fuck are we supposed to do about it?"
"Well, I'm not getting them. You guys are," Orion tells us, leaning back in his comfty chair.
Leo shook her head. "Nope. If you want more people, do it yourself. Like you said, the Elites want to throw us under, they're gaining more people, blah blah blah. We're trying to save ourselves, remember?" she says, her finger swirling in a circle to indicate the nine of us.
Orion clicked his tounge. "Well, Leo, you are a part of the Galactics, and The Elites are coming for all of us. Don't forget, I'm here to protect you." He points a finger at all of us now. Leo only scoffed as a response.
"Just tell us who you want us to join, old man, so we can save our asses," Pisces says, rolling her eyes at all the talking.
Orion smirked at us. "You all know these people I want to join. I'm sure it wouldn't be a complete problem," he teased.
"Can you just tell us already?" Aries asks.
Orion paused for a moment. "I want you all to find Capricorn Seagoat, Sagittarius Archer, and Gemini Airheart."
Cancer scoffed. "Woah, woah, woah, there, Orion. You lost me at Sagittarius. There's no way I'm working with her again."
"Wasn't I the one who make all the rules, Cancer?" Orion asks in a stern and intimidating voice. The guy loved to be in control.
I didn't mind any of them. Capricorn was hot and pretty much the girl of my dreams, Sagittarius was cool when she wasn't annoyed, and Gemini was pure comedy. I was most excited to see Gemini. Him, Taur, Leo, and I all used to be best friends years ago. And then he left. Then it was just me, Taurus, and Leo for the past three years.
"Wait, so that's all? Just three people?" Taurus asks.
"Yes. They're all good with weapons, I know. An addition of three could work just right," Orion explains, raiding his desk for something. "Now I want all of you to go."
I blinked a couple of times. "Wait, now?"
Orion stood up. "I'll give you tracks on where they were last seen. I've been tracking them down for the past two days. They're not that far."
"Yeah, because that doesn't sound the slightest creepy," Aquarius mumbles in his regular, sarcastic tone.
Orion was looking for some papers. He was a whole mess. He pushed his glasses up from the bridge of his nose like a nerd as he was looking for them.
"Found it!" he says, straightening out a sheet of paper and handing it to Virgo.
I snatch the paper out of her hands which caused her to growl at me and smack me across my head. It hurt, but I knew I wasn't gonna hurt her back. I was never one to hit a girl.
In the notes, it says that Capricorn was seen at a bar, Sagittarius on Woodhaven Parkway, and Gemini seen in an apartment building. Those all seemed boring. What have these guys been doing these past three years?
Taurus snatched the notes from me and read them with Pisces who was on the other side of him. I let him. I finished reading it anyway.
"Can we find Gemini first?" Taurus asks, his ears perking up from excitement.
"Yes. Please," Cancer says. "And then you guys can get the other two while I can keep him company."
I scoffed. "You just don't wanna see Sagittarius."
She shrugged. "And?" she says, walking towards the door now. "Now let's go ahead and get this over with."
"Don't have to tell me twice," I say, winking at the hot and sassy brunette. Cancer was already outside of the room now. Everyone else followed behind her. We all took the elevator and were walking in the lobby.
"So we're finding Gem first?" Taurus asks me.
I shrugged. "Guess so."
"Y'know what this means, right?"
I turned and looked at him as we were both walking out of the penthouse now with a smirk. "Of course," I say. "But don't be too loud. Still can't trust these people."
I look around to see Pisces behind me, watching Taurus and I talking to each other. Not that I had a problem with Pisces. In fact, she's one of the cool ones here I can tolerate.
But when it was me, Taurus, Leo, and Gem, we would always sneak out and do crazy shit that Orion or anybody else couldn't find out. Mostly because we were just bored. And God forbids me telling anybody else what the hell we do during those times.
Cancer was the first one walking to the truck. I was picking at the plastic wrap on my forearm to make sure it was still tight. Virgo is the one who drives us places. Mainly because her truck could hold 20. She gets in the driver's seat as the rest of went in the back with Scorpio in the passenger.
"Guys ready?" Virgo asks, not bothering putting her seatbelt on. She was a safe yet fast driver, so none of us decided putting them on either.
"Yeah," Aries says. "Let's go find Gem."
●○●
We all arrived all the way downtown where a lot of pedestrians were walking past. It was a very social side down here. Much like the New York on TV. The people were ugly. So were the horrible music the hobos played. I could've sworn I've seen only one hot blonde somewhere.
"Can these people move out of my goddamn way?" Virgo beeps the horn continuously, causing the pedestrians to walk faster and some even to run.
She places her elbow on the head of the passenger seat where Scorpio was sitting then turn to look at us behind her. "So where is Gemini exactly?"
Taurus shrugs. "He should be somewhere in this city. Where most of the apartment buildings are."
Virgo sighs while rolling her blue eyes at him. "Yeah, 'cause that helps." She turns back around to the road in front of her. People were still walking. She groaned some more.
"Run them over," Aries suggested like it was nothing.
Virgo sighs again. "And you wonder why your liscense has been suspended," she teased.
The redhead just shrugged and leaned back in his seat. Virgo was honking the horn some more. She gave up a little while after, and I started to get bored.
"Can we leave and find Gem ourselves?" Leo asks.
"That's exactly what I was gonna say," I say, unbuckling my seatbelt.
"No. Both of your asses are staying in this truck," Virgo says, looking at Leo and me through the rearview mirror. She looked at Leo and squinted her eyes which made her shivver. "And don't ask me the second time either. My answer is no."
Leo rolled her eyes at the bossy lady and slouched in her seat. We kept waiting for the pedestrians to move out of our way. For now, I don't mind Aries' suggestion. It's not like we haven't killed before. But I already know Virgo's gonna scold me for going after 'innocent' people. Well, news flash! They're not so innocent if they're keeping us away from Gemini.
"Seriously," Aries says, a small groan following after. "Just run them over."
"We're not running anyone over. We'll just have to wait until―"
And as if jinxed, something was on the top of our truck. More like someone. I swear, above us sounded like a herd of elephants running for their lives. That someone immediately jumps off of the truck and runs the opposite way they came from.
Since I was by the window behind Scorpio in the passenger seat, I could try to make out who the fuck was on our truck like that. I can hear Pisces cursing under her breath, probably scared we were under attack.
I squinted my eyes to see who it was. The person was a male. With brown hair as brown as dirt and a black bag in his hands. He ran as if his life depended on it, but I couldn't see his face. That was until he quickly glanced behind him as if something or someone were chasing him. The police maybe. I immediately found out who it was.
My eyes beamed. "Guys! It's Gemini!"
I hear a gasp behind me. "Where's Gemini?" Leo asks, excited.
I point my finger to my window were he was already running in the distance. "That guy! That's Gemini, hurry, V!"
"I can't run these people over!" she yells at me, irritated with the suggestion given to her three times.
"Yeah, you can," Aries says.
She shot him a mean look through the rearview mirror. She then turned to the right as we all did to find polices running. Yep. That was Gemini.
I quickly hop out of the truck without the bossy pant's permission.
"Libra, what the hell?" Pisces shouts after me.
When I was out, the officers paused for a minute as I began to speak. "Don't worry, officers. I'll find him," I say to them, assuming they were after Gemini.
They just nodded at me as they were out of breath and panted with their hands on their knees. Do these officers here suck or what?
I took off running the same direction I saw Gemini run to. I was a fast runner. Probably even faster than Aries who would get mad at me for it. I could easily catch up to Gemini.
The wind was blowing hard in my face and hair, and I can feel the skin where the plastic wrap was on my forearm tighten as my arm flex due to the adrenaline of my cardio. I was finally catching up to Gemini now.
I see the brown haired boy with the bag take a sharp left. I was quick enough to follow him there. I just kept getting closer and closer to him successfully. We were near a park now where adults were walking with their loved ones.
I was close enough to hear Gemini's panting as he was running like the wind was carrying him itself. Once I officially caught up with him, I used all my forced and tackled him down to the grass where his head couldn't bust open.
The brown haired guy starts grunting as he were getting me to get off of him. I'll admit, he was stronger than me, but I was the fastest. That's undeniable.
"Let go of me or I'll kill you," Gemini grunts, tackling me over on my back.
His eyes were filled with anger until he realized it was me. His eyes softened a bit. "Libra?" he asks, letting me go.
I dust the grass off of me and made sure the plastic wrap around my arm was still tight. "Gemini!" I say with pure excitement.
He immediately stands up and pulled me up with him. "Libra! What the hell are you doing here?" He was clearly out of breath as I was not. I enjoyed running.
"Orion needs more people to join us. He chose you, Cap, and Sag," I say, still dusting the grass from my clothes. "I'll explain most of it in the truck. Now go hide somewhere. I told the police I was going to catch you."
Gemini nodded and hid somewhere without hesitation. I don't know where he went, but I guess that only meant he chose a great hiding spot.
I ran to the curb now to see the worn out police officers swallowed in a crowd of jogging ladies. Some were old and some were about my age. Man, I loved seeing a woman run in shorts.
But I couldn't think of that now. I was here for Gemini. Not the ugly women with perfect bodies.
"Did you...did you find him?" one of the darker polices ask me inbetween pants.
I shake my head and faked my own pants. "No," I say. "He was too...too fast for me. M-my bad."
The lighter skinned police just shook his head, allowing sweat from his black hair to drip into his uniform. He swallowed his pants down. "It's fine. Thank you, young man," he says to me.
He gets his speaker from his chest and started speaking into it, calling in for a car. They obviously couldn't run as fast as a great officer should. Who hired these losers?
I looked to my side as this happened and saw Gemini casually talking to the blonde chick I saw earlier today. I rolled my eyes at him. He was supposed to hide. Goddamn, he's so stupid.
Both of the polices squeezed my shoulder as a thanks and started walking the opposite direction to a police car with a female police driving. I immediately ran over to where Gemini was with the blonde.
"Gem!" I call out to him with my arms out wide. "You were supposed to be hiding, you idiot!"
Gemini looked at me and said one last thing to the blonde who only blushed and walked away. His face deadpanned when he looked at me again. "I got tired of waiting."
"You could've gone to jail, dumbass. And you couldn't wait to be completely safe?" I say, dropping my arms down beside me.
"Nope," Gem says, walking passed me now.
I jog to keep my step in with his. "Well, you're coming to our group, right? Galactics."
Gemini ran his hands through his sweaty brown hair that almost appeared black. "Sure. there's nothing better to do here anyway," he says, slinging the bag over his shoulder.
Soon after, we see Virgo pulling up to us with her window down and smirking. "Well, look who we have here. Gemini Airheart," she says with a wider smirk.
Gemini rolled his eyes. "Yeah, now mind letting us in?" he asks, walking closer to the truck.
Virgo unlocked it and Gemini got inside with me following behind. Everyone looked happy to see him. Hell, I was fucking happy to see him.
"Gemini!" Taurus shouts.
Gemini covered his ears dramatically. "Could you get any louder?" he says, smirking at the guy.
Virgo started driving again. "Pisces, who are we looking for now?" she asks.
"Well, since the bar isn't that far from here, I guess we're picking up Capricorn," she says, looking through the notes.
"Sweet. Buckle up because I'm going faster this time."
●○●
When we were in the truck on our way to the bar, finding Capricorn was pretty easy. She was surrounded with a group of guys, and she looked like she wanted to kill all of them. I just couldn't help but laugh.
"What's so funny?" Scorpio asks me, turning around from the passenger seat.
I pointed to the group of guys surrounded by Cap. "I mean, at least someone else realized how hot Cap is," I say. Scorpio only rolled his eyes at my comment.
The thing about Capricorn was that she wasn't even inside the bar. She was outside of it. We could see her black hair tied up in a high ponytail, which honestly made her look so much hotter. I'll admit, I always had a thing for her, but she never wanted to do things. It was one of the things about her that was such a let down.
"You want me to get Cap?" Cancer asks, specifically talking to Scorpio and Virgo.
"Yeah, go ahead. But bring Libra and Aries with you," Scorpio tells her, not looking back to face us.
Cancer gave me the digusted look. She opened the door and jumped out with Aries and me following behind.
The curly brunette was walking passed us, and Aries and I were walking behind her in perfect sync.
"Any idea why Scorpio chose us?" Aries asks me.
I shrug. "You know how Scorpio is. He hates when we question him on things."
He chuckled a bit. "Yeah," he says. "He's like the younger version of Orion."
"You can say that again."
Cancer was up to Capricorn who gave her a weird look. She's probably not expecting us to be around where she was. I mean, we haven't seen them since we were all 18 and 19. We were all 22 and 21 now.
"Lay a hand on her, and I will fuck all of you up," Cancer snaps, pointing a stern finger at one of the guys.
That guy just chuckled with his friends. "Ooh, she's a fiesty one."
I walked over to Capricorn who looked like she was going to faint out of surprise. "Don't look too scared," I whisper to her, nudging her arm.
"What the hell are you guys doing here?" she whisper yelled to me.
"Later," I say, putting my finger to my lips and smirking down at her.
I put an arm around Capricorn now. "Okay, gentlemen," I say, breaking up Cancer and her little fight with the broke looking men. "I understand you're all here to have her, but I'm afraid she already has a boyfriend," I say with a smirk.
Capricorn looked up at me with a furious look. I knew she was going to probably and literally kill me. I wouldn't blame her though. She hated lables as it is.
The men all laughed in my face, nudging each other's arms with their elbows. Cancer and I give the three of them a weird look.
Cancer looked at me and Cap back at the men. "What's so funny?" Cancer asks, seeming somewhat offended by their laughter.
"Libra's being stupid again, that's what," Aries mumbled to Cancer, tapping his elbows with his pointer fingers as his arms were crossed.
"We don't want her, dipshit. She fucking scammed us!" one of them say.
"I did not!" Capricorn retorts, leaving from under my arm.
"You did! And you cheated!" another one says.
"Scammed them? How?" Aries asks Capricorn, suddenly interested in this scene we were currently in.
"Game at the casino! She cheated and we gambled all our stuff away!" another says. "So we want it back now."
"Sounds like a personal problem," Aries says, grabbing Capricorn's arm to take her to our truck. She just let him, probably okay with being anywhere but arguing here.
"Hey, you get back here!" one man shouted.
Capricorn stuck the middle finger out with a smile as she was walking away. What she didn't expect was one of the men attempted to walk toward. His eyes were squinted and his eyebrows furrowed into fury. I knew that look anywhere. He looked like he wanted to kill her. That pulled a trigger somewhere in my bones.
I quickly push him off. "You're not gonna hit a girl," I tell him, standing face to face with him.
"You think I won't?" he says back, eyeing Cancer's short height behind me.
"If you lay a finger on any of my girls I'm going to make you regret it," I say, trying to sound as intimidating as I can.
The guy looked more intimidating than I did. He had a black scruffy beard with a bald head. He had his sleeves torn, wore all black, and had more tattoos than me. I didn't care though. He didn't scare me at all.
The same guy attempted pushing me and grabbing for Cancer. I quickly grabbed his arm and twisted it, and I can hear Cancer pull out a pocket knife out of reflex. She quickly handed it to me.
"Now let me tell you this," I say, pointing the knife to his eye. "I told you once, and you disobeyed. Now, since you didn't hurt her but attempted it, I'll let it slide."
The guy looked beyond scared now along with his friends. That was exactly what I wanted from them. The thing I like is peace and understanding. I felt like I was finally understood by them, but they won't yet learn from their own lesson.
I looked down at one of the tattoos that had a heart and looked right back at the guy. I guess I could show them what peace really looked like.
I manuevered my hand to his arm and drew the pocket knife's blade across the heart tattoo, making a line down the middle with two diagonal lines across it. Only blood drew from his skin. Deep cuts. His screams was heard from his pain, but I was too busy to even complain about the volume outside the bar. His friends only watched in amusement-scared to even harm me now. The man tried to snatch his hand back, but all the strength in my body for attempting to hurt Capricorn and Cancer became twice as strong as I usually was.
When I finished, it was a a peace sign in a shape as the original tattooed heart. I wipe the blood from the pocket knife on my pants and closed it while giving it back to Cancer.
"Fucking bastard!" he yells at me, snatching his arm back.
I only looked at the rest to see if they were going to try anything else on me. I turn around and start walking with Cancer right beside me. I felt accomplished with myself. I turned back around to see the scruffy bearded man cursing under his breath, looking at the blood on his arm along with his friends. Their eyes were shot open at the sight.
Cancer and I were both making our way to the truck now. Scorpio was looking outside the window and saw us. Taurus opened the door for us, and we hopped in. Virgo didn't hesitate on accelerating the car.
"Brutal," Leo joked with a smirk.
"I don't know. Aquarius done worse," Scorpio says.
Aquarius looked at us and blushed a little. He slouched down in his seat, trying to get all the attention away from him.
Cancer smiled at me, and I shot her a smirk back. Yeah, I'm pretty awesome.
"So you guys want me to join you again?" Capricorn asks, her eyebrows perked up. "The Galactics?"
Taurus nodded. "Yeah. We could really need people."
Aquarius lightly chuckled. "Really, we're just doing what Orion asked us to do, so I mean-"
Pisces smacked his head. "Shut up," she interrupted. Aquarius sent her a mean look that the blue haired girl ignored. "But yeah, we need you, Cap."
Capricorn only shrugged as she looked outside the window. "Sure, I don't mind. I haven't seen Orion since, what? Three years?"
"Yep. Still old and annoying as back then," Aries joked.
"I just joined today too," Gemini says. "But what even happened back there?" He gestured his thumb behind him to where the bar was.
Capricorn's eyes widened. "Um, at a casino, these guys got really wasted, and we started playing a game, right?"
"You cheated, didn't you?" Virgo chuckled, glancing at her through the rearview mirror.
"I thought they were, like, mind-out-of-body drunk. I didn't know they would've remembered me!" Cap defends, her hands throwing up in surrender.
That caused Aries and Leo to laugh in hysterics together. Taurus chuckled just a little bit.
"I'm not surprised," Taurus says, smirking and looking out the window. That caused Capricorn to just blush a bit.
"So next-"
"No! We can just tell Orion she doesn't want to join!" Cancer says, interrupting Virgo.
Virgo gave Cancer a wide grin from the rearview mirror. Everyone knows Cancer and Sagittarius did not get along. They didn't have any drama between them. It's just that Sagittarius was too blunt, didn't have a filter, and said the most unnecessary stuff without remorse, while Cancer couldn't put up with any of that shit. She wasn't afraid to let Sagittarius know that either. Both of their egos just made a complete disaster which was why they only found each other super annoying. It even annoyed us.
"To find Sagittarius we go!" Aquarius says, smiling at Cancer who only growled and rolled her eyes at him.
●○●
Woodhaven Parkway was about an hour drive from the bar we were just at. I knew this place well. A bit too well. It was where most of the druggies and the 'too tough' kids were back when we were younger. I wasn't surprised Sagittarius was a part of this.
Cancer groaned. "Of course she's here," she mumbles. Aquarius shot her a mean look, telling her to behave.
"Where the hell is she?" Pisces asks, pushing my head to see through my mirror.
"Hey. Pi. Ya mind?" I ask the hot blue haired girl beside me.
She gets off me and threw herself back in her seat. "Why did she have to be here out of all places?" Scorpio just chuckled at Pisces as he was still looking out his window.
I remember Sagittarius a few years ago. She had long black hair and hazel green eyes. She was also snappy and reckless. I'm guessing that was because she was high all the time. Overall, she was pretty cool, adventurous, and just pure trouble. I don't think she ever realized any of that.
Woodhaven Parkway looked the same it did three years ago. The only different thing were that there were new people, more hobos, and more graffiti.
"So who's going out to look for her?" Cancer asks, obviously not wanting to do it.
We all knew better than to let Cancer anywhere near Sagittarius. I want to say I don't know what Orion was thinking when he asked to bring Sagittarius, but she's more than perfect for this. She's fiesty, hot, and like I said, adventurous.
"I can go," Aquarius insist.
"I'll go too," I say, feeling the excitement.
I've actually been in a great mood today. I mean, we found my best friend, Gemini, we got Capricorn, and now we're getting Sagittarius. This had to be one of the greatest missions Orion has sent for us.
"Well, glad to say you guys are getting her. I kind of just didn't want to go," Aries says, leaning in his seat.
Scorpio rolled his eyes at his laziness. "Let's park here," he tells Virgo.
She made a left and started to perpendicular park along with the other cars. Aquarius hopped out from his side of the truck, and I get out from the other side and slam the door shut behind me. Aquarius was already on my side now, ready to go look for Sagittarius.
As we were walking, we noticed this place is seriously no different from three years ago excluding the people and graffiti. I just still can't believe I was a part of this years ago.
We passed people making out, flirting and talking to each other, teenagers with skateboards, all that stupid crap. One of the teenagers fell off in front of us with their skateboard hitting Aquarius' shin. He winced at the pain, looked the kid in his eyes, and threw the skateboard where it split in half.
"Hey! That was mine!" the teenager cried.
"I did you a favor. Now you won't have to accidently kill yourself riding one of those," Aquarius says, continuing to walk straight ahead.
I only walked with him. Not like I could do anything about it anyway.
"Where the hell could she be?" I whisper to myself.
I was slowly growing tired of being here now. The smell of burning smoke and sounds of skateboard wheels contacting the harsh, rough concrete ground. It annoyed me too quickly. If we couldn't find Sagittarius by the time my ears bleed, I wouldn't mind taking Cancer's suggestion and lying to Orion that she didn't want to join.
"Hey! Watch where you're going!" some teenage boy with a lot of piercings and leather says to Aquarius. I wasn't sure why he was so cranky. He was the one that bumped into us.
Aquarius growled and immediately turns on his heels, ready to walk up to the kid. That was until I grab his arm to stop him from trying to hurt the guy.
"He's a teenager. Just let it go," I tell him, putting my hands on his shoulders and directing us straight so we can finish what we were for.
Aquarius only sighed nd continued walking. He was never a part of this side of town. It always annoyed him, and now I see why. I just hate how he was more wiser to know it before I could.
"Any sign of Sagittarius anywhere?" I ask him, letting go of his shoulders to walk beside him.
He gave me that look with the furrowed eyebrows to make me rethink what I just said. "Yeah, I found her. I'm just not telling you or walking up to her right now because I don't want this mission to end," he says in his annoying, sarcastic voice.
I roll my eyes at all the given attitude thrown at me. "Look, Aquarius, I'm only trying to be―"
"Nah, I'm just kidding. She's actually right there," he says, signaling his head to the right.
I gave him the look to make him feel stupid. Did he seriously joke with me at a time like this? All he did was just laugh at himself for whatever reason. I pivot on my heels to the right and push Aquarius in front of me to start walking in that direction too while he kept laughing.
"I'm hilarious," he laughs, a smirk settle on his face now.
As if.
In the direction we were going, there were lots of drunk and high people here, mainly men and teenage boys. There was also someone with a grey beanie sneakily pickpocketing people each step they took and hiding money in their pockets. Yep. That was Sagittarius.
Aquarius and I were walking further in her direction. The girl had so many wallets and jewelry inside her sweatshirt pocket; I was surprised nothing fell out.
Sagittarius was close enough to us that I thought she would've recognized us. Only she didn't. She tried sneaking to steal something from Aquarius, but he instantly grabbed her wrist, causing her to look at us now.
"If you're gonna get better at that, you should really be sneakier," Aquarius tells her, dragging her to a corner where not a lot of other people were. They'd eventually find out she took their things.
Aquarius, Sagittarius, and I were all by a corner now. Sag immediately yanked her wrist back and tenderly rubbed it. Aquarius didn't look the slightest apologetic.
Sagittarius looked different now. It wasn't completely a bad different. I just remembered her with longer hair. Now her hair was cut to her shoulders―which honestly looked amazing on her. Only, she didn't look happy anymore. She looked so fucking miserable.
"What the hell are you two doing here?" she asks, still rubbing her wrist as she looked at us.
Aquarius smirked. "You look like a dying rat."
Sagittarius sent him a mean look causing him to chuckle at himself. I have no idea why he thought he was so hilarious today.
"Hey, Sagittarius," I say, greeting her the proper way. "We need you. The Elites are trying to strike at us, and we don't have enough people to―"
"No," Sagittarius says bluntly, cutting me off in the middle of my sentence. "Why is it that the only time you guys need me is for your own benefit?"
I shrug my shoulders. What? We're needy people. "There's nothing better to do here, Sagittarius. What have you been doing these past three years anyway?" I ask her.
"Is that rhetorical?" she asks me, a brow raising as she did. I wasn't even sure if it was or wasn't.
"Can you just join us?" Aquarius asks, sounding more annoyed rather than desperate.
"Why the hell would I do that?"
"Because one, I'm not gonna lie. You're a great fighter, and I don't wanna get my ass killed in the hands of my enemies. Two, Orion told us to get you. And three...some other third reason," the curly brunette says, counting his reasons with his fingers.
"No," Sagittarius says again. I had a feeling she was going to start being persistent now.
"Why not?" I ask her this time.
"Because one, you guys only need me when it's convenient. Therefore, none of us are friends, and therefore I do not care if you guys get killed. Two, I'm saving up to go to the Bahamas. And three...some other third reason," she says, also counting her reasons with her fingers.
Only one of her reasons caught my attention. "The Bahamas?" I ask her, my eyebrow raising and giving her a look as if she were crazy.
She smiled and nodded her head. "Yep. The Bahamas."
"With what money?" Aquarius asks, holding a few wallets and looking inside of them.
Sagittarius looked at his hands and immediately reached for her sweatshirt pockets that had only lint inside it. She tried reaching for the wallets Aquarius somehow stole. "Hey, give it back!" she says, jumping to catch it.
I can see that this amused Aquarius from the smirk on his face. "Why do you steal from these people? They look like hobos."
Sagittarius was still trying to take them from him. "Exactly. They steal from the rich. I steal from them. That way, I don't look like the suspect."
I thought that over. "That's actually kind of smart."
"Yeah, I know," she says, pausing her actions for a quick moment. "Now give it!" she says, jumping to get it again.
"Okay," I say, nodding at an idea in my head. "I'll make sure you go to the Bahamas. Only if you join us."
She stopped attempting to steal her wallets back to look at me. She had a mean and annoyed look on her face. "Are you trying to manipulate me?" she asks, her voice tilting toward annoyance.
I smirk. "I guess I am."
She didn't say anything for a while. If looks could kill, I'd be rotting right about now. Sagittarius never liked being tied down for anything. Especially if she really wanted to do something freely.
"Fine. Take the damn wallets. I'll just go steal more. See you guys never," she says, an annoyed yet satisfied fake smile plastered on her face.
"Really? Because one of the wallets your victims stole has a phone number, Sagittarius," Aquarius says, looking at a certain card. "I wouldn't mind calling them and telling them what kind of heartless and selfish person would steal their dear wallet. Oh, the horror for you." Aquarius had a dramatic hand to his heart and an amusing smirk. That made Sagittarius give him the mean look this time.
She clenched her jaw. "Could you get any more annoying?"
"I'm willing to go there if you are," Aquarius teased.
Sagittarius groaned now. She was annoyed with us for blackmailing, but we did not care. We needed our ass saved, and Orion knew best for that. If he needed all three of us, he's getting all three of us. Aquarius tilted his head in the direction we parked and walked over.
She pointed a stern finger at me. "Once this is all done and I for sure will stay alive, you better get me enough to go the Bahamas," she ordered before walking off behind Aquarius.
I only chuckled. "I promise."

When we arrived to Orion's office, he looked more than pleased to see the three recruited members. Well, he was happy to see Sagittarius and Capricorn. Gemini and Orion used to butt heads a few years back, but it was more of a love-hate relationship with them. Gem would always give Orion such a hard time on things and Orion would just feed off of it.
"So we have them," Scorpio says. "All three of them." He gestures his hand to Gemini, Sagittarius, and Capricorn.
"This is great," Orion says, his hands clasping together on top of his desk. He smiles at the three of them. "Welcome back."
"I knew you missed m―"
"Not you, Gemini," Orion says, his finger raising as his eyes haven't left Sagittarius and Capricorn.
"Then what was the point of recruiting me?" Gemini asks in a frustrated tone.
"You're strong. This'll just help you save my eleven favorites," Orion says with a huge smile.
Pisces chuckles as she nudged Gem's arm. "He misses you. He just doesn't want to say it."
Orion was stacking papers now. I wasn't sure if he heard what Pisces said or just ignored it on purpose. "Capricorn, Sagittarius, how have you two been?" Orion asks the two girls.
"Good?" Capricorn and Sagittarius answer in unision more like in a question.
"Can I show Cap her room?" I say, raising my hand with a smile. I can see Capricorn roll her eyes and shake her head at me.
She knew how I felt about her. Everyone did. I was never ashamed of letting anyone know. It was hard to know if Capricorn felt the same back or if she was just bluffing. The girl was a gold digger, I know. In fact, I think she got me drunk once and stole money from my bank account.
"No. I'll show them. You guys can hang out in the Main Room or whatever you all do," Orion says, eyes still focused on the papers.
Pisces was the first to shrug her shoulders and make her way out of Orion's office. Everyone followed the blue haired girl out.
The Main Room was a room inbetween Leo's and Virgo's. It was the biggest room on the 6th floor. The Main Room was the place where we all hung out. It had almost everything we needed there. A television, a computer room, a kitchen. It was where we spent most of our time in the penthouse.
When we were all inside the large room, Taurus and Pisces went straight to the refrigerator. As usual.
"I'm surprised this room is still intact. Has Aries cooled down on his...problem?" Capricorn asks Virgo beside her.
"What problem?" Aries asks, overhearing the melanin skinned girl.
"Your anger problem. And no. He hasn't," Virgo tells her, almost pulling Capricorn away.
That was until I wrapped an arm around the girl. "How's it going, Cap?" I ask, leaving Virgo to frown at me for taking her friend.
Capricorn gave me a mean look. "Don't think I forgot about that little stunt you pulled today," she tells me, her dark brown eyes piercing through my soul.
Virgo officially takes Cap away from me. "Libra, she's not interested," she tells me, rolling her pretty blue eyes at me.
"Nope," Cap says with a smile and wink at me as she and Virgo walked away to talk.
I was suddenly growing tired. I wanted to sleep, but I also wanted to talk more with Gemini. Plus, Sagittarius already sprawled herself on the couch. She was probably patiently waiting for Orion to get her room fixated so she could go to sleep.
I walked over to the table where Leo, Gemini, and Taurus were. Taurus was peeling an orange now, talking with both of our friends.
I take a seat beside Leo. "What are we talking about," I ask, leaning back on the chair.
"Just trynna catch up with Gem," Leo answers, not taking her eyes off him. "And you're rudely interrupting." This time, she looks at me.
Leo looks at me now with her green eyes giving me a fierce look and a smirk on her face. I roll my eyes at the pink haired girl and chuckled.
"There's seriously not much to talk about," Gemini says, tapping his finger on the table. "It was actually kind of boring without you guys."
"It was boring here without you too," I tell him.
Taurus put a finger up to stop me. "Boring?" he asks. He points to himself now. "You have your best friend right here and you've been bored for three years?" he asks in a dramatic way.
I shake my head at the brunette. "I mean I miss doing crazy shit. All four of us," I explain.
Gemini yawns. He looked like he hasn't slept in days. Even when the guy never sleeps, he usually was still energetic and happy. Something about his body movement tells me that has worn off.
"Are you tired?" Leo asks him.
Gemini shrugged. "I don't know," he answers, putting his head in the palm of his hand on the table.
"You're tired," Taurus tells him. "Just go to sleep. Unless you're trying to end up like Aquarius." He gestured his thumb to where Aquarius and Scorpio were talking.
As said before, Aquarius was weird. No one bothered to talk to him about his insomnia. No one bothered to talk to him at all because it was so awkward to interact with him―other than Scorpio. I'm guessing his whole 'no sleep' schedule is the reason he's so sarcastic and cynical all the time.
"Orion doesn't have my room ready, Buller," Gem says, trying to keep his eyes open. "But it's fine. I haven't been able to sleep in a while."
Leo's brows furrowed in concern. "And why's that?" she asks, her voice soft―a rare tone from the fiesty pink haired girl.
Gem shrugged his shoulders. "I don't even know."
And I believe it. I know Gem well. Too well. He was always one to hand out informtion like business cards. Even the information no one should find out. A reason why I couldn't trust him with secrets.
Another thing about Gemini, he never lied. He had no reason to. Not even if it were to save his ass. He only told the truth, and even if it were to get him in trouble, he had no shame in exposing himself.
"I would offer you my room for now," Leo says, "but I'm not."
"And I would offer you mine, but I don't feel like it," I tell him.
"Don't look at me. I wasn't going to offer it to you at all," Taurus shrugs his shoulders, finally having that damn orange peeled. He popped a small wedge of the orange in his mouth.
Gemini chuckled with his eyes closed. I couldn't tell if he was going to sleep on the table or if he was just resting his eyes. It has been a long day. For all of us. We all went out to look for our three friends. Gem almost got arrested again. Cap almost got killed for scamming. And Sagittarius didn't make it to the Bahamas. The day was long for all of us.
"I missed you guys," Gem says in as quiet as a whisper as he was about to doze off to sleep on the table.
Nobody said anything else, considering that he must've wanted to sleep now. But it was no secret that we missed him too.
