Chapter 4
How did this happen? How did this entire situation happen? How does Luna know so much about you, and your family? You hate her, and this, and that stupid ship. So of course when Luna sent out Search and rescue teams, you got paired with Orion. Well, more like you asked to be part of his team. You didn't exactly like him now, but you sure as hell didn't want the guy to die. Worst case scenario, you could use him as a shield. If you had to anyway... Luna looked kinda surprised when you volunteered as the extra medic in the team. She gave you a look that shouted, "No murder". Relax crazy demon lady thing, you weren't gonna kill him. Yet. See, you had your suspicions about his past, and the war, and a shit ton more things about the guy. It didn't add up! You know? Well, you do know... because you're saying this in your head. I guess. Anyway, there were six of you in a team so, at least 24 people were searching the ship along with you. Although it would be a miracle if you found each other at all. Dreadnoughts are no joke in size.
You left the bridge with Orin, tapping the elevator button for the dock. Orion was talking about something and you nodded, more focused on the last time you ate something. Your crew was already there waiting for you, suiting up in a high tech space suit. It was grey and very light weight, the is some sort of nano gel that grew over you. The helmet was a clear version of the gel and outfitted with a air filter in the back. An extra air canister was there in case it broke. It was a little tight, but you guessed that they were all like that. A cat dude, looking like Emily but with orange fur walks up to you and extends his paw, you shake it. "Hi! I'm Bruce, Bruce Early. I assume you met my sister?" You nod, helping Orion with his helmet. He somehow managed to twist the gel into a ball and got it stuck in his horns. He says, "Thank you" and goes over to a strange looking plant lady in a pilot jumpsuit.
You notice that Bruce was wearing a green suit instead of the more common Blue, Purple, and yellow ones. You decide to ask him about it. He explains that he's in the botany department, and that purple, blue , and yellow were the basic colors. You nod and he starts going on a rant about plants and fauna from a... gas giant? You think that Bruce is a little bit crazy. The plant lady announces that your crew is leaving in a couple minutes, so you should board your ship. The ship your crew own to looks like a wight boomerang with guns. Two laser cannons to be exact. The Cannons are on the top of the ship, one on either side of the egg shaped Bridge. The engines were on the back of the boomerangs wings. Somehow providing adequate steering for the entire ship. You whistle impress was a sight to see. It was a light frigate, large enough for your crew and one extra.
You pressed a convenient button at the bottom, allowing a set of stairs to almost decapitate you. Good job at almost killing yourself. Again. Orion stumbles up the stairs, carrying what looked like the entire med bay in his arms. The plant lady yells at him to take all that bit by bit, but Orion ignores her. You chuckle and lean against the hull, enjoying the spectacle in front of you. He managed to get most of it in before his inevitable fall, so you can't knock him for that. To be honest it was entertaining; watching him struggle with that giant box of medical supplies. Keep going little dude, you'll get it one day. You sigh and walk up the stairs, enjoying the ships leather looking interior. The room was kind of built like a lounge with seat belts, but no tables. The room to the left was living quarters, you had all the Necessities there. There was actually toilet, well surprising to you. You have ridiculously low standards. There is even a small oven... like I said, you have low standards. Orion, Bruce, the plant lady ( who introduces herself as Gloxinia), and a human technician (his name is Bob. You guess.) file into the ship and take their respective workplaces in the room on the right
You follow after them, watching as your crew fire up the various pieces of equipment in the stations. You don't, because Orion already did it for you. Gloxinia takes her seat in the Pilot's chair and waits for the signal. Apparently the signal is someone giving her a thumbs up before she. without warning. PUNCHES THE IGNITION BUTTON SO HARD, YOU GET THROWN BACK IN YOUR SEAT FROM THE G-FORCES ALONE. At this point you're wondering if Thor hates you. It only takes around a minute for your ship to land in the broken hull of the Dreadnought. Gloxinia found an adequate parking spot in the blackness, and your hellish space ride came to an end. She tells Bob to activate the airlock, and he does. You, Orion, and Bruce file out into the darkness, receiving orders from Hate and Cosmic. According to the command center, you needed to explore enough to gather info on what had happened, and how to stop it from happening again. Its cold. Very cold. You can't help but think that one wrong move and- no, you can't think like that, everything will be alright.
The radio communicator pops in with a concerned Orion asking if you were okay. He must have noticed your apprehension. You tell him that he should mind his own business and focus on the mission. He nods, and follows Bruce closely, almost bumping into him. your about ten minutes from the ship, and it's still almost all black. This is when your Head lights start to kick in. It flickers for a moment, and then you wish it never turned on. Corpses. Seemingly thousands of bloody, maimed, Corpses. And there was a spider-like shadow over them. It was a dead Captain G. But he moved. Where his eyes were supposed to be were glowing pale blue crystals that pulsed with your heartbeat. It... It didn't react to the light at all, it seemed to be blind.
But...
what if it could hear you?
