Chapter 1
Once upon a time, in a land not so far away, there was a happy couple. The happy couple had a little baby girl named Gaišais was a beautiful, precious little bundle of joy that loved her mother and father with all her little heart. And that love was mirrored by her parents. And when she was little, she thought that everything was perfect, and nothing could ever go wrong in their perfect little family. But, as she grew older and grew less naive, she realized that her family was not as perfect as she grew up believing. Her parents began to argue more and more. And one day when she came home from school, she finally understood why. When she walked into her home, she saw her mother crying at the dinner table with a note in her right hand, and her father's wedding band in her left. When she asked her mother why she was crying the only response she got was more sobbing, so she went around the whole house searching for her father, because even if she couldn't cheer up her mother, surely her father could. But as she searched the house, she soon realized that her father was nowhere in the house, and what's more was that there was nothing that even gave a clue that he lived there anymore. When she realized this, she went back to the table where the note was with her mother softly crying over it. She gently took the note from her mother and began reading it. It read,
' Dear Mīlestība,
I have left this note to make sure you knew that I had left permanently, and will not be coming back. I have found a woman that I love and have wanted to be with for a while. I will have packed my bags and have already left with my new girlfriend by the time you read this. Please take take care of Gaišais and don't try to find me.
Signed, Dievs
As Gaišais finished reading the letter, she joined her mother at the table and started to sob uncontrollably.
Her mother tried to console her but ended up breaking down, so they just sat, hugging each other and crying into the other's shoulder. They did this for almost an hour until Gaišais finally stood up, told her mother that she loved her, and went to her room to cry by herself. As she laid in her room, listening to sad music, because who wants their music to be peppy when the world hates you, she began to hate her dad for leaving. She got so mad that it felt like there was a boiling pot of emotions in her head just waiting to spill out and burn her and anyone within range. But then, as if the pot was tossed in a bucket of ice, she became eerily calm. It was as if she couldn't feel emotions. And she decided that this eery calm was good, at least for now. Because if she felt anything else, she knew she was going to break down all over again, and she was done crying over an idiot that left his own family for a woman he barely knew and then have the audacity to leave the ring that signified their love and a letter that was so obviously written without a care to how the person reading would feel. And with this mindset, she wiped her eyes and nose and walked out of her room to console her mother who she knew wouldn't be able to put on this eerily calm façade that Gaišais had. But as she walked out of the hall her previous calm vanished. There, standing there as if nothing had happened, was her father. The whole world went red. She couldn't think, blinded by this white hot feeling that was so much more powerful than rage. And with that she wasn't In control of her body anymore. She was only a passenger, watching without a way to stop the chaos plainly in front of her. Because by now she had already slammed into him and had wrapped her hands around his throat with the strength of a python before he even knew what was happening. Her mother was screaming at her, telling her to let go of him as she tried to pry Gaišais off Dievs, but it was no use because by the time she had finally pried Gaišais off of him, the life had already left his eyes. He was dead.
