New work partner

 Tw: Belittling, injuries

"I can't believe you passed out during sex," Eric grumbled.

"I think I broke my ribs earlier. Can I go use the medpac?" Saria signed and pointed to her torso.

"Datapad," Eric reminded her.

Saria wilted and got out her datapad, typing out her previous statement and handing it to Eric.

"Are you kidding? You're fine. It's probably just your asthma," Eric rolled his eyes.

Saria frowned. She was pretty sure she broke her ribs. It hurt to take full breaths and her chest was severely bruised.

Saria grabbed the datapad back from him and typed out how certain she was that it was broken ribs.

"Don't question me," Eric said when he read what she had written. "It's not like you're a doctor anyways. You're only an architect."

Saria pasted a smile on her face and nodded, doing anything to make him happy.

"Now go to work. I need some money to go out with my friends. You know I love you, right babe?" Eric hugged her, squeezing her chest, and the pain made her see stars.

Saria got her things and walked out the door, heading for the coordinates she was told to go to for her newest assignment. It seemed to be a space port.

When she got there, she saw an attack shuttle waiting there, with armoured soldiers out waiting for her arrival. If fact, one of them looked familiar.

"Saria?" Tech asked, a surprised look on his face.

Saria smiled, her hands too full to sign with.

"You two know each other?" A man  with long hair asked.

"Saria saved me from a speeder. I told you the story yesterday?" Tech reminded the man.

He turned to Saria and introduced his group as Clone Force 99, aka the Bad Batch.

Saria put her things down and signed a hello.

"She says hello," Tech translated.

"I know that," Hunter rolled his eyes. "You taught us BSL months ago."

"You remember?" Tech faked a look of shock. "I had assumed you had forgotten, seeing as  you forgot me on Endor one time."

Saria's shoulders shook silently as she laughed, before doubling over in agony at the pain in her chest.

"Saria?" Tech worriedly nudged her shoulder. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine," She signed, grimacing from the pain.

"Don't look fine," Crosshair remarked.

"What happened Saria?" Tech asked her after shooting a dark look at Crosshair.

"I guess I hurt myself saving you," Saria focused on taking shallow breaths.

Tech frowned in concern before pushing his goggles up the bridge of his nose. He scanned her with his datapad and showed it to Hunter with a concerned look.

"Holy kriff you broke three ribs!" Hunter shouted.

The blood drained from Saria's face as she realized how serious it was.

"I will get the medpac, someone get Saria seated," Tech ordered and rushed off.

Before she knew it, Saria was swept up by Wrecker and carried to a seat inside the ship. She was plopped down on it and just watched on in curiosity as everyone struggled to find the medpac.

"Crosshair used it last!" Wrecker ratted the tall clone out, who sneered at Wrecker.

"Well I put it back when I was done," Crosshair rolled his eyes.

And while Saria sat there nervously, Clone Force 99 ran around her, trying to find the medpac.

"This is why you need to follow my organization methods!" Tech shrieked.

"Kriff your organization methods!" Crosshair retaliated.

Saria tapped Hunter's shoulder to get his attention. "Is it always this chaotic?"

"Most of the time," Hunter sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Wrecker! Stop making fun of Crosshair!"

Then Wrecker found the medpac under a chair, and they started arguing about how it got there. Hunter sighed again and grabbed it while they were distracted, sitting next to Saria.

"What's your story kid?" Hunter asked as he rifled through the kit.

"I'm just an architect," Saria shyly told him. "Not much to it."

"Everyone's got a story to tell. What's yours?" Hunter pressed.

"I guess my story is boring," Saria shrugged. "Nothing special."

Hunter looked at her skeptically but went back to the medical supplies, stopping when he found bandaging and bacta.

"Do you want me to help you or do you want to do it yourself?" Hunter respectfully asked.

Saria knew she wouldn't be able to do it herself, she didn't even know how to treat herself. She pointed at Hunter, indicating she wanted him to do it.

"You sure?" Hunter checked.

Saria nodded.

She pulled up her shirt and allowed him to bandage it, applying bacta as he went. When he finished he went and got some rations for her, figuring she must be hungry since it was so early in the morning.

"Here," He offered her the ration packs.

"No thank you," Saria declined, feeling nauseous at the thought of food.

Hunter shrugged and put them back, watching Crosshair, Tech, and Wrecker argue. He eventually had enough of their nonsense, and broke up their tussle.

"I apologize for getting distracted," Tech huffed as he plopped down next to Saria. "Why are you here again?"

"I am the architect who'll be working with an engineer here to design a new water source for the city. Do you know where the engineer is?" Saria asked.

"Ah, so that is why we were assigned here for the time being. I am the engineer," Tech explained. "We are partners for this project?"

"I guess so," Saria gleefully smiled, happy to be working with someone she had at least met before.

"Will you be staying with us, or do you have residence nearby?" Tech questioned.

"I live on the other side of town. I walked here, and I'll do that whenever we have to work," Saria frowned to herself as she thought about how much walking she'd be doing.

"We can always meet in a market or somewhere in the middle of town," Tech suggested. "It is not necessary for you to always be walking that far."

"We'll make a plan once we start working on the project," Saria decided. "It was nice to see you again."

"You're leaving?" Tech looked slightly disappointed.

"For now. I have to pick up some blue milk," Saria smiled bitterly as she pictured herself serving it at dinner tonight.

"How did you become mute?" Tech bluntly asked.

"Tech!" Hunter butted into the conversation. "You can't just ask that!"

"Its okay," Saria told Hunter. "I'd rather he ask than just assume something."

She turned to Tech to explain. "I was bitten by a vampire."

"You- What?" Tech furrowed his brow.

"I'm joking," Saria huffed in amusement at the look on his face. "I got injured one day... after I angered someone. He said it was an accident though."

"I am sorry to hear that," Tech placed a hand on Saria's arm.

Saria got up swiftly, unsure of what to say next. "Bye."

And she left for the market.
