After the Titans, everything settled down giving us a few hours to relax.

That meaning me and Chris as we had a lot to do while being in the past.

I yawned loudly, sipping on a mug of coffee Phoebe had prepared. I always liked the coffee she made. I snuggled down on the coach where I had slept in the night prior wondering when it would be the time where the sisters kicked me and Chris out of their house, though I knew it was gonna be painful, I would understand. For them, we were completely strangers. For us, they were like family. But at the same time they weren't. It was confusing to know the women in front of us were the same we knew but 20 years younger. Immature.

I also knew them well enough to figure out Piper was acting Non-Piper like. Chris and I had discussed that over an hour after she returned from God knows where looking happy and giddy as if her husband hadn't abandoned her by becoming an Elder.

The door bell ringing snapped me out of my thoughts, placing the mug in the table and standing up as a black skinned couple walked inside after Phoebe called out they could come.

My eyes widened slightly in recognition. I knew this people

"Hi" The woman smiled, looking at the sisters.

I shifted awkwardly, hoping my presence wasn't questioned by them

"Hey" The man, who I remembered was called Daryl Morris smiled as well.

Paige smiled "Hi"

"Are you sure you want us over today?" The woman, Daryl's wife Sheila asked

"Yeah, I mean, we don't wanna intrude" Daryl looked between the sisters questionably. He had yet to spot me so I took that as a good sign, siting down getting myself comfortable and grabbing the mug of coffee again.

"No, you're not intruding" Phoebe reassured them, "This was Piper's idea"

Sheila gave a soft sigh, looking sorrowfully "I can only imagine what she's being through. How's she doing?"

Phoebe hesitated "We're not really sure"

"She wanted to be alone with the baby last night" Paige said

Daryl sighed, "Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't come out of her room for like a year"

"Oh, don't be dramatic" I butted in, smirking slightly "She's doing fine" I replied, lifting the mug to my lips. That's when the couple noticed me, raising their eyebrows "You'll see"

They all frowned when suddenly Piper walked down the stairs, looking cheery "Hi guys! I'm so glad you could come" she beamed

I looked at them raising my eyebrows in an "I told you so" way.

Daryl and Sheila exchanged a shocked look, greeting at her dumbfounded

"We wanted to show our support" Sheila told her handing Piper a bunch of flowers

Piper smiled, grabbing the flowers "Thank you"

Daryl cleared his throat "Yeah. Leo was... is" he corrected himself quickly "..Somebody"

We all looked around awkwardly, -mostly me amused- making Piper chuckle "Oh, come on guys! This is a celebration" she exclaimed, laughing "Leo got promoted. We should all be happy for him. I am"

I raised my eyebrows, looking down sarcastically. That was indeed a Non-Piper reaction

"You are?" Paige asked shocked, exchanging a look with Phoebe

"Of course I am" Piper said with a frown, confused

Phoebe and Paige exchanged a look, concerned "Piper, you don't have to put on a brave face. We're all here for you" Phoebe told her softly

"Suppressing emotions in this family can be dangerous" Page added

I furrowed my eyebrow lightly staring at my mug of coffee. How right you are Paige, how right indeed

Piper looked at her sisters with a wary look, "No, I'm not suppressing anything. really, I'm okay" she said slowly. I scoffed over my mug, making her look at me disapprovingly. "Now, let's eat before the baby wakes up from his nap. Oh, I forgot the baby monitor" she handed Phoebe the flowers, "Be right back" she said before running upstairs

"See? I told you she was fine" I broke the silence with a sarcastic quip, hiding a smirk.

"No, that's not right" Daryl said, shaking his head "Something's wrong with Piper"

"Maybe she moved on" I suggested amused, following them to the dinning room. Phoebe and Paige flashed me a look. I shrugged, amused.

"Piper doesn't move on, Bree" Phoebe scolded me, "She fights. I'm telling you guys, that wasn't Piper"

"Probably. I mean you know her more" I rolled my eyes, checking my wrist watch. "Eh, you know what? I think I'm gonna miss this dinner. I have something to do"

Paige frowned at me, "If it's magic related, it can wait"

I scowled at her, childishly

"Magic?" Daryl repeated, glancing at me slightly startled "You're a witch too?"

I shoved my hands to my cardigan pockets, flashing him a sheepish smile, "Why surprised? By now you should now the Halliwell's don't interact with non magical folks..." I grinned, pausing for a second at their expressions "Except you two"

Daryl sighed, "Right, right. I'm-"

"Daryl Morris, and your wife Sheila" I interrupted with a smile, "There's no need for the introductions"

"Bree" Phoebe scolded, giving me a look. I cowered a bit, scratching my neck "I'm sorry for her. One would say in the future they teach manners to the kids"

Daryls eyes widened "Future?"

I glared at Phoebe, amusement gone and a deep sadness and rage hitting me over, "Yeah, you would think. Too bad my parents were dead for them to teach me that" I snapped, starting to walk away.

"Oh, sweetie..." Phoebe seemed guilty, trying to reach out to me

"I have to go. I have to check something. My father is alive on this time. I have to know where" I said coldly, opening the door and snapping it shut when I was outside.

Chris jumped at the loud sound, turning to face me. His eyes searched around my face with a frown. "Bree?"

"Save it" I snapped, walking past him. "Don't wait up for me"

"Bree! What happened?" Chris called out to me but I ignored him, letting myself orbing away in a flush of pink light while I kept walking, disappearing from the manor.

What Phoebe had said, it hurt. It made me remember that yes, she was right. My parents hadn't been there to teach me how to behave properly. I was too young to understand manners when our world went dark and the only person I had to rely on was my sister and Chris and neither of them were very helpful for that as we all were trying to survive.

It made me remember that even if I had my mother in front of me, she wouldn't know I am because she wouldn't be her. Just a physical copy of her. Mentally she'd be a stranger.

That's what hurt the most.

I orbed to where in the future was my special place with my sister, the roof of a greenhouse in the middle of San Francisco. It was green and the walls of the roof were full of plants, flowers. It was our favorite.

I sat down, my back against one of the small pillars as I began brainstorming about where my dad could be, what my sister would say and do if she was in my position, about my mom and what Phoebe said.

This was becoming too much for me. Maybe I wasn't ready to be a hero. Maybe I'm not ready to fulfill my mother's footsteps on saving the world. Maybe Chris was right. I should have stayed home.

If I can call that place home.
