This story is set in an alternate universe.

In this one Luke wasn't born after the fall of the Jedi and there are a lot more Jedi who have survived and your main job is to hunt them down as well as exterminate any other rebels.

The Empire has not yet secured it's hold on the galaxy and you travel far to unknown regions to take them over.

There you meet not only new enemies, but you gain a few new allies as well.

Eventually you do plan to betray and kill the Emperor and bring everything under your rule.

Your new allies will prove most useful with this endeavor.
