Reader Info:

Your name is (Y/N) and you're just a simple Hermit Crab living his best life on a beach somewhere.

You were a rather carefree crab with not a worry in the world, but that all changed when a Loan Shark suddenly popped up.

The Loan Shark:

The Loan Shark demanded you pay your taxes or he'll revoke your shell.

You had absolutely no idea why you had to pay taxes, you lived nowhere near a city but the shark was persistent.

You attempted to pay with Heart Kelp but the Loan Shark instead took your shell, your home.

You tried chasing the thief down but he got away leaving you homeless.

You were scared, panicking and you needed help.

There was only one person you could go to help for but you're not sure if he'd provide it.

You managed to make your way to a town under the sea known as Bikini Bottom.

Bikini Bottom:

Why did you come here?

Well it was the place your father lived of course.

Your father, Mr Krabs.

Mr Krabs:

Mr Krabs, your cheapskate of a father who you left years ago to live your own life.

You didn't feel like mooching off him your whole life and so you left.

Despite your father being a cheap and greedy old man, he did spoil you and your sister Pearl.

Who was a whale.

Pearl:

Yes, your mom was a whale and your dad was a crab.

That's how all this happened.

Now that you were homeless you basically had no choice but to come back to your dad and sister and ask for a place to stay.

At least until you found your shell again if you could.

So you donned a soda can for some decency and made your way to bikini bottom.

There you greeted your father and Pearl who were happy to see you but questioned why you were here.

After you explained what went down both Pearl and Krabs allowed you to stay with them.

Eventually you got a job working at the Krusty Krab where you met SpongeBob and Squidward.

SpongeBob Squarepants:

Squidward Tentacles:

SpongeBob was nice...a bit too nice some would say.

Squidward was the exact opposite, he was depressed, misrsble and moody and hated his job.

So in short he was an adult.

Unlike SpongeBob and Squidward though Mr Krabs did pay you.

And what was your job?

You were just a Janitor, you just cleaned and that's it.

So this story follows you trying to adjust to life in Bikini Bottom which is far different from your former carefree life.

It was tough, but you adjusted.

Now as you adjusted you also asked and looked for clues to find that dirty Loan Shark that took your shell.

If he didn't have your shell anymore that was fine.

You'd still beat him up if you found him and he better prepare himself cause you're pretty good with weapons.

You can fight and beat things ten times your size.

Not easily, but you can do it and even though you don't like to fight you'll do it if you're pissed enough.

And you are very pissed at that shark.

You'll find him one day and bash him into fish paste.

Until then, we'll see how you adjust in Bikini Bottom.

Sandy Cheeks:

The super smart, adventurous, karate Master Texan Squirrel known as Sandy Cheeks was really a lot for you at first.

You're pretty much opposites in a lot of regards.

Her daring attitude and forwardness was a bit much at first but you eventually got used to it.

When Sandy heard you needed a shell she did try creating one for you, they didn't work as they were either too complex, malfunctioned or had other problems.

But you did appreciate the effort and they did provide protection during fights you got into.

Sandy even taught you how to fight better and improve your skill without using weapons.

You aren't as good as her or even SpongeBob but you're decent.

Eventually feelings did bubble up between you both.

However you're just too shy to confess and Sandy just doesn't think you like her due to your shyness.

Most of your friends don't notice or care enough to try and help you both get together but hopefully in the future you'd both be able to admit your feelings.
