Masked: (Mario x Male Ogerpon Reader)

Plot:
One day in the Mushroom Kingdom, a strange little visitor came by.

A little Ogre wearing a Teal Mask.

This Ogre was you, and your name was (Y/N).

You came to the Mushroom Kingdom during a festival and had fun with all the various Mushroom people apparently called Toads.

After a while you eventually ran into 2 Plumbers known as the Super Mario Brothers Mario and Luigi.

Mario and Luigi:

The Plumbers welcomed you and introduced you to their other companions, who were both Princesses.

Princess Peach: (Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom)

Princess Daisy: (Princess of Sarasaland)

After getting introduced to them, you explained that you were a traveler just visiting to have some fun in this kingdom.

Peach said you were more than welcome to stay for a few days if you wanted, an offer you gladly took her up on.

However, suddenly an explosion went off and looking up you saw an airship blowing things up.

The Airship:

And from the airship descended dragon-turtle creatures in floating vehicles with clown faces.

Bowser Jr and the Koopalings:

They immediately targeted Peach intending to kidnap her, but being the helpful Ogre you were you stopped them alongside Mario and Luigi.

Once the little Gremlins were dealt with a roar reached your ears and looking up at the airship you saw a much bigger turtle-dragon jump down.

Bowser:

He introduced himself as Bowser, the Koopa King and apparently you were beating up his children.

From there another fight started between all of you.

His flames were strong and so you had to remove your Teal Mask and don your Wellspring Mask.

You: (Wellspring Mask)

With this you had power over water, perfect to douse this beast's flames and to further your advantage you decided to Terastalize.

Wellspring Mask: (Terastalized)

With your power over water enhanced you beat back Bowser and his army forcing them to retreat.

Everyone in the Mushroom Kingdom was safe and you were praised as a hero.

Of course you were rather worn out after that battle as the Koopas put up a good fight.

Meanwhile, back at Bowser's castle, the Koopa King was healing from his injuries outraged that he'd possibly have a new hero to deal with.

Just then, as if on cue, the doors to his chamber burst open and in stepped 3 individuals.

Okidogi, Munkidori and Fezendapiti:

They introduced themselves as the Toxic Trio and offered Bowser their assistance to help deal with you.

When asked why they would want to help him they simply said they desired your masks, the source of your power.

The Koopa King accepted and together they plan to take you down.

Your Masks:
Each mask you have gives you elemental powers.

The Teal Mask gives you the ability to control nature and plants.

The Wellspring Mask gives you power over water.

The Hearthflame Mask gives you power over flames.

And the Cornerstone Mask gives you power over earth.

° Eventually the trio are gonna be more like Bowser, they start off as pure antagonists after your masks, but then they'd switch to being antagonists sometimes but then allies other times.

°Also during Bowser's Inside Story, not only will Fawful have Midbus as a henchman, he'll also have Bloodmoon Ursaluna.

°And Poltchageist and Sinistcha will most likely be Bean Kingdom residents. They're green and Poltchageist is kinda Bean-shaped so it could work.

° There is also gonna be an arc where Bowser fuses with Terapagos and all of Bowser's minions get Terastalized and gain access to Pokemon moves.

Love interests:

Wendy O Koopa:
She developed a crush on you immediately after seeing your adorable face.

That crush only grew when you saved her from Munkidori who had powered himself up using one of your masks after the trio kicked Bowser out of his castle for calling off their deal after finding out his daughter had a crush on you.

Don't worry, you got it back for him and kicked the trio out.

After that, Wendy loses her haughty and spoiled personality and becomes as shy as a schoolgirl.

She gets so nervous it's hard for her to form words around you and she often goes to the other princesses for advice on how to confess.

Also, her brothers do tease her a lot for her crush on you, but they made a vow that if you ever hurt her they'd break all your bones.

Of course her dear dad will do a lot worse to you if you do hurt her.

Harriet Broodal:
The only daughter of Madame Broodal and the one she spoils the most.

Harriet is just as big a brat as Wendy, but unlike the Koopa Princess who gets shy around you, Harriet makes it clear she wants you, at one point even trying to kidnap you to force you to marry her.

Wendy of course did not appreciate it and the two of them often fight over you and try to gain your attention and affection.

You or course don't understand romantic love and so you're pretty oblivious and thick-headed.

Unlike a dense anime protagonist though, you can learn a lot quicker so as long as they keep trying they'll get it through that they love you and hopefully you'll accept.
