One Piece: The Teal Mask (One Piece x Male Ogerpon Reader)

Long ago, on the island of Kitakami, a man and an Oni came and took up resident.

You were the Oni and your name was (Y/N), a name that was given to you by your best and only friend.

You and he arrived on Kitakami and immediately upon seeing you both, the villagers on Kitakami feared you both due to how different you both looked.

You were both chased out of town and you both took decided to live on Oni Mountain for the time being.

Oni mountain being a mountain formed to resemble a demonic face and for a while you both just stayed there.

One day however on the day of Kitakami's annual mask festival a man from the village climbed the mountain.

He was a mask maker and he presented you and your friend with 4 masks he made from special crystals.

The Mask maker was the only villager who felt sympathy for you and your friend and so to help you both he made these masks to allow you both to blend in during the mask festival.

You both thanked him and were extremely happy to finally be able to socialize.

Your masks dazzled all who attended the mask festival and for years you and your friend were the talk of Kitakami.

It was good, but somewhere down the line, word of your masks reached offshore and 3 individuals came to Kitakami with intent to steal them.

These 3 individuals were:

These 3 individuals had found out about your masks and wanted them for themselves.

These 3 made their way to Oni Mountain while you were out and your friend was attacked and killed by these 3.

When you returned to Oni Mountain all you found were signs of a struggle and the Teal Mask your friend had stopped the 3 from taking.

You were enraged, you had lost your only friend and you wanted revenge.

You grabbed the Teal Mask and went out during the day, you found the 3 who killed your friend and proceeded to beat them to death.

You killing the 3:

Unfortunately the villagers had witnessed what you had done and seeing you as a monster they viewed these 3 thieves as heroes who tried defending them from you.

The fight had taken a lot out of you so you ran with the Teal Mask while the villagers took your other 3 masks and graves were erected to honor the 3 who killed your friend.

They were known as "The Loyal 3" and revered all across Kitakami much your dismay.

So for years you hid away and watched as the loyal 3 were honored throughout history as heroes for many generations.

One day 4 individuals came to the island from another nearby on a rowboat.

Apparently they arrived from Syrup Village to have a ship built for them.

The individuals were Monkey D Luffy, Roranoa Zoro, Nami and Usopp.

They were a developing pirate crew and they had come during the mask festival.

The locals welcomed them with open arms and while their ship got built they would enjoy the mask festival.

For a few days they all just relaxed until they found out about the tale of a powerful Ogre that once terrorized the villagers of Kitakami.

Until 3 heroes came and defended them from it, but eventually fell to the Ogre, who disappeared after that.

When the Mask Festival came, everyone was having a good time.

Nami however soon noticed a mysterious figure at the festival, this figure being you and felt an urge to follow you.

So she did and when you realized you were being followed you freaked out and tried to run.

This made you drop your mask and for the first time in a long while, someone got a good look at your face.

You were forced to leave your mask behind and retreat back to Oni Mountain leaving Nami with a mask.

Due to your horns and mask it wasn't hard for Nami to put two and two together and determine you were the Ogre that terrorized the village.

But if you were, you were surprisingly shy and...cute, to her at least.

She took the mask back to her friends and told them about her encounter with the Ogre.

Luffy of course had a desire to meet the Ogre and ask if they'd like to join the crew.

Nami wanted to sell the mask you had lost but before anything else could be done, the descendant of the mask maker who had long ago helped you and your friend found them.

He told them all what truly happened at the shrine of the Loyal 3 and upon hearing the truth of your tale, all 4 were extremely upset for you.

So Luffy resolved to not only fix your mask but was now more determined than ever to get you to join his crew.

However, just before they could work on fixing your mask, a new individual made their presence known.

Akuma:

This was a man known as Akuma and he had the power of the Kuma Kuma No Mi model Ursaluna.

But it was...different, not that they could tell the difference since they never encountered someone with this power normally before.

Luffy demanded to know what Akuma wanted only to be ignored as Akuma raised his hand which radiated an ominous purple glow.

And suddenly, the Loyal 3 were seemingly back from the dead, alive and well.

While Akuma ordered the Loyal 3 to go take the other masks they wanted revenge against you first.

Akuma decided to allow this and with that they all set off.

The Mask Maker's descendant known as Mr Miyagi told Nami and Usopp to go to the Crystal Pools of Kitakami and bring them to him while Luffy and Zoro followed the Loyal 3 and Akuma to defend you from them.

After much time and Zoro and Luffy defending you on Oni Mountain while Usopp and Nami retrieved the crystals and repaired the masks they made it to you and gave you back your mask.

With your mask and with help from Zoro and Luffy you fought them all to a stand still.

But then Akuma ordered the Loyal 3 to go into town and take the remaining masks.

Immediately you ran after them followed by the others.

Initially the people of Kitakami were elated to see the Loyal 3 until you came and attempted to attack one of the Loyal 3 and they attempted to use one of the villagers as a shield.

You stopped yourself from striking them and got punched in the face.

From there it became a brawl, you and the Straw Hats against Akuma and the Loyal 3.

Eventually you saw the destruction the battle was causing and heard the screams and so you remembered Luffy asking if you could join his crew.

After some more fighting, you managed to grab the masks and tell Luffy you'd join his crew.

With that settled to protect the village you ran towards their new ship dubbed the Going Marry and set sail enraging Akuma who took a docked ship and set sail after you.

With that over, the people of Kitakami all began questioning what they really knew and with Miyagi told them all what his ancestors were tyring to tell them, that you were no monster.

With that, the old days of honoring the Loyal 3 were done and instead the Mask Festival would be held to honor you in Kitakami instead.

Meanwhile out at sea you were welcomed as a new member of the Straw Hat pirates after losing Akuma and the Loyal 3 who would no doubt still he after you.

Onward to new adventures.

Powers and Abilities:
As an Oni you possess above average strength and agility.

And the angrier you get the stronger you become.

You also possess some elemental power and various moves.

Your signature weapon, a spiked Cudgel can also be enfused with elemental power depending on which mask you wear.

Later in the story, you'll gain more masks with more powers.

You in your future masks:

There are many more abilities you have and moves you can do, all involving elements in some way.

Personality:

You are a rather simple individual.

You want nothing more than to help others and spend time with your friends who you would do anything to protect.

Without your masks on you're rather shy as you only take off your masks around those you trust completely.

With your masks on you're a lot more confident around strangers and outspoken.

While you love your friends very much, if they betray your trust you won't hesitate to bash their faces into a bloody paste.

Like when you thought Nami betrayed everyone when you all took a trip to her old home.

You were perfectly willing to bash all her teeth out and most likely would have if you hadn't learned the truth.

Once the truth was found, you decided to do all that to Arlong instead.

There will be other Pokemon as part of other pirate crews or organizations.

Mostly just Paldean pokemon, for example.

Koraidon will be part of Kaido's Beast Pirates.

Sinistcha, will be one of Big Mom's daughters and basically be your Boa Hancock.

Palafin will be part of the Marines and have a rivalry with you.

Armarouge and Ceruledge will be part of CP9 and later CP0.

And there will be a lot more.

And depending on how the Treasure of Area Zero Epilogue goes we could potentially have another main antagonist in the form of a Poison Peach.

Also Terapagos will also be making an appearance and it will be the size of an island and on it, it will speak to you and there you will learn how to Terastalize with your mask.

And then there's Tinkaton.

Tinkaton will be a Blacksmith you'll meet at some point and she'll make you a new Cudgel after your old one breaks.
