Hestia's POV

Hi everyone I am Hestia Solaris, formerly Hestia Jones muggle-born witch. Now fire elemental mage. I know, crazy right. There are four of us, each represents an element. There's Maxwell Poseidon, water elemental mage. We call him Max. Aspen Gaia, earth element mage. Lastly Storm Aeolus, air elemental mage. I'm the youngest of the four of us, so I sort of get babied. But not this year, I'll prove that I can take care of myself.

We're all entering our second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Along with our dragons, that have been the companions/guardians of all the elemental mages before us. Mine is Quilava, who I call Quil. He is a fire dragon obviously, but appears as a fire salamander unless I am in danger. Max has Cordelia a water dragon who appears as a blue cobra. Suits him as he is in Slytherin. Aspen has Azalea, earth dragon looks like a cat. Storm has Aries who appears as an owl.

Now you know Max is in slytherin. Well Storm is in Ravenclaw, Aspen in Hufflepuff and I am a gryffindor. But we don't let that stop us being friends. As all elements live together in harmony. If we weren't able to live peacefully, the whole world will dissolve into chaos. Besides, I may have a little crush on Max.

Anyway, we're all on the train on our way to Hogwarts to start our second year. "Rumor has it Harry Potter is starting this year and is in compartment 2a" Aspen tells us.

"Poor guy, he'll be the talk of the school" Storm states as he makes a feather fly around the room.

"At least no one will be focusing on us this year" I state.

"I thought you loved the attention Hestia" Max teases.

"No, I hated it" I tell him.

"I wonder if Harry remembers his parents deaths?" Aspen muses.

"I forbid you to ask him Aspen" Max tells her.

"Just because you're the oldest, doesn't mean you get to boss us all around" she tells him with a pout.

"Yes it does" he says with a smug smile. "Storm, please stop showing off" he tells him. Storm puts the feather away. Just then Cordelia slithers into the compartment. "Any potential trouble makers?" Max asks her.

"Draco Malfoy is starting today along with Theodore Nott, Crabbe and Goyle. All their fathers were former death eaters" she answers as she rests across his shoulders.

"Great" I grumble.

"Do not threat my young charge they shall not come near you" Quil assures me nuzzling my neck.

"Thanks Quil" I say with a smile.

"It's Aries" Azalea states. Storm opens the window and Aries flies in. He lands on his shoulder.

"Anything to report?" Storm asks.

"Nope, thought Percy Weasley became prefect. Apparently hasn't shut up about it all summer" Aries declares.

"Bet the twins will still annoy you Hestia" Aspen tells me teasingly.

"Don't remind me, can I set their hair on fire?" I ask Max.

"No" he tells me. I sigh and take out my charms book. I start to read it as Max discusses classes with Storm. Aspen pats Azalea, who purrs happily. Suddenly a girl with bushy hair appears.

"Sorry to interrupt, but have any of you seen a toad? A boy named Neville has lost one" she states.

"Nope, sorry" Storm tells her.

"Azalea and I will help you look" Aspen tells her.

"Thank you, I'm Hermione Granger by the way" the girl states.

"That's Max with Cordelia, Storm with Aries and Hestia with Quil" Aspen tells her. We all wave. Aspen then leaves with Hermione.

"Muggle-born" Cordelia hisses. She can tell someones blood status by scent, perks of being over a thousand ears old. Not that is matters, I mean all us elemental mages are muggle-borns. Even Max and he is in Slytherin. Not that anyone outside us knows that. As we don't broadcast it.

"Hope she's in ravenclaw, looks smart" Storm states.

"Beat you she's in gryffindor" I tell him.

"Ten sickles?" he asks.

"You're on" I say and we shake hands. The rest of the journey was uneventful. Aspen came back with Azalea, they had no luck finding the toad. But the game-keeper Hagrid had when we pulled into Hogsmeade station. We all got a carriage together. Once we arrived we went to our separate house tables.

"Fire queen! Over here!" two voices yell. I groan. It's the Weasley twins. I ignore them and sit next to my friend Katie Bell.

"Have a nice summer?" she asks.

"Yes, it was lovely. The others and I moved into our new home with our families. It's huge" I tell her.

"Are you going to try out for seeker?" she asks me.

"Yeah, though I feel bad for Max and Storm. They can't try out because their elements may give them an advantage. Though Max's depends on the weather" I tell her.

"Yeah that sucks" she agrees. "But at least it'll be an even playing field" she states. I nod my head in agreement. "I'm trying out for chaser" she adds. We wish each other luck.

The first years arrive with Professor McGonagall and are sorted. We got Harry Potter. I also won my bet with Storm as Hermione was placed in gryffindor and not ravenclaw. He sent Aries over with a small pouch of ten sickles and I sent him a wink pocketing it. The feast was lovely as usual. Dumbledore gave his usual speech, but added that there is now a forbidden corridor on the third floor. I am so checking that out.

I go up to the common room with Katie. Who had gotten the password from Alicia, who had got it from the twins, who got it from their brother Percy. It was Caput Draconis. Katie and I joined our two dorm mates in our room. We all caught up on out summers as we got ready for bed. Then called it a night. Quil curled up beside me on my pillow, glowing faintly as he sleeps. I fell into a dreamless sleep.
