A couple days after the fight, Tai started to settle into his new home and starts to hang out with Blair more. On Friday Blair had news for Tai. "There is a card shop downtown and they have a tournament tommorrow at 2. Will you go?" Tai thought about for a little bit. "Sure I go." Blair got excited. "Then I'll participate too!" Tai was surprised. "How are you gonna do that?" Blair took out a purple deck case. "I'm a buddyfighter too. Remember that's why that jock challenge me." Tai remembered now. "Don't worry, I'm a strong fighter too!" Tai looked at her. "Okay then tommorrow, may the best fighter win." Blair agreed. "Loser owns winner a booster pack, 'kay?" Tai smiled "It's a deal."

On the day of the tournament, Tai went to the shop to sign up. Blair was already there going through her cards. "About time you got here." "At least I'm here." They laughed. The announcer got everyone's attention. "Welcome everyone to the annual card shop tournament. Here are the match ups for the day." Tai was in the second match while Blair was in the fourth match. "Remember our deal." "Don't lose till then." The announcer got everyone's attention again. "Everyone ready? Lets..." Everyone shouted "BUDDYFIGHT!"

The first match was between Dragon and Legend world. Dragon world won with a score of 0-2. In the second match... "FINAL TURN!" Everyone got quiet. "You can't end me!" Tai was in the zone. He couldn't be stopped. "Draw, charge and draw. I pay 1 gauge and discard 1 to equip Dragonblade, Dragoblade. Then I pay 3 gauge to call Gigant Sword Dragon to the left!" The boy was shaking. "Bring it on!" Tai didn't hesitate. "Swing your sword with might! Gigant Sword Dragon, ATTACK!" The game ended. Everyone clapped. The final score was 5-0. Next was between Danger and Dungeon World. Danger world won with 0-3. Blair was next. "Good luck!" She turned to Tai with his thumb up. "Thanks, Tai." She is about to face the champion. She may need it.
