Virgil groaned and opened his eyes"Dad..."he stood up"yeah kiddo?"Virgil looked around"Patton where did you go!?"

"I'm right here,where are you?"Patton asked,Virgil then turned to his mirror.

Virgil wasn't Virgil,and Patton wasn't Patton.

There was only one side where they were supposed to stand,he was short like the both of them and wore a black cat hoodie over his shoulders with blue patches the shape of broken hearts.

His make up was a deep purple blue on his eyelids,he was pale like Virgil and had far more noticeable freckles like Patton.

"What..happened.."Virgil asked,his voice came out of the side as he looked at himself"why do we look like this!?"Patton yelped.

The guy suddenly moved on its own as he looked in the mirror and touched his face"woah..."a new voice came from him,Virgil believed it was the side's actual voice.

The guy looked at himself and chuckled as he twirled"I look so cool!"Virgil's breath began to pick up this isn't happening,this guy is talking on his own!!

Patton felt that Virgil was tense"Kiddo.."it his voice spoke through the new side,looking to his left.

The new side began to hyperventilate"what-w-what's going on!?this can't be happening!"Virgil whispered through his breaths,suddenly the white glow surrounded them again and everything went black.

Patton groaned as he woke up,Virgil not too far away"w-what was that!?"Virgil blurted out"it talked and walked on its own!"Patton put his hands on Virgil's shoulders"hey,it's ok Kiddo.we can go ask Logan,ok?"

Virgil bit his lip"b-but-"Patton shook his head"no buts,we're seeing Logan."Patton then stood up and dragged Virgil out his room.

Patton lead Virgil through the halls,thinking about what happened.

That thing they made looked so happy and Patton was happy,he almost wanted to try again.

Then Patton looked to the surprised and scared Virgil,he frowned I could never force that on my kiddo,I can wait till he's ready again.

Patton knocked on Logan's door"Logan,can we talk to you?"Virgil his behind Patton"it's going to be ok,Virgil."Patton promises as Logan opened the door"yes?"

The two walked into Logan's room as he closed the door"something happened."Patton blurted out as he and Virgil sat on a chair,Logan raised a eyebrow"please clarify."

"Well I was comforting Virgil not too long ago and this strange thing happened,there was this glow then everything went black.me and Virgil woke up as this thing,it kinda looked like both of us."Logan hummed and sat on a chair.

"Interesting,could you please give a example?"Patton looked at Virgil"if Virgil's ok with it."Virgil played with his hands"s-sure."Patton smiled and stood up"ok,how did we do this."

"I think we hugged?"Virgil suggested,Patton immediately held out his arms"bring it in!"Virgil sighed and gave him a hug.

Logan watched as a glow surrounded them after a uncomfortable silence,it completely covered the sides from view.

Patton and Virgil's symbols moved from their places and crashed together as their silhouette gained a new shape of one side,the light then died away.

In their place was the new side,Logan looked him up and down"well that wasn't expected.."Logan stood up and circled them.

"You appear to be a new side,do you know your name?maybe your symbol?"the new side pointed to a symbol on his plaid shirt.

It was a spider colored in plaid,it was interesting to say the least.

"Do you speak?"the new side nodded"yeah,it's nice to meet you!i'm.."the side faltered"well I don't exactly know what I am."he admitted,Logan adjusted his glasses"well you appear to be a fusion,Anxiety+Morality could equal a couple things.tell me which one you like."

The new side nodded as he listened"you could equal phobia since Virgil is anxiety and Patton is the heart,and you can't change what your heart fears.you could equal moral responsibility since your anxiety would make you care for what you do morally."

The new side thought for a moment"I think phobia is as close you get,what do you think Kiddo?"Patton's voice came out of his mouth as he looked to the side,scaring the daylights out of Logan.

"Yeah I'm pretty sure it's phobia."Virgil agreed,the new side nodded"so you're phobia,do you know your name?"Phobia shrugged"I'm sure I'll find out."

"Well for the time being I hope I get to see more of you Phobia."Logan said holding out his hand for a shake,Phobia trembled and the glow came back.

The two sides splitted and Virgil groaned"sorry,I kinda couldn't keep it together."he mumbled"it's fine Kiddo,that's a long time compared to our first!"Virgil smiled softly"thanks dad."
