It seemed to be a regular day in the mind palace,everyone was oddly at peace.

Was that because Janus and Remus weren't present is getting off topic,Patton had decided to make Virgil a snack since he hadn't seen him since the frozen video.

He walked to Virgil's door with a bag of goods in hand and knocked on the door"Kiddo,I got you something!"he was met with silence,Patton hummed"it's chocolate chips,you're favorite!"he cooed.

He was met with silence again"kiddo,can I come in?"silence again,Patton began to get worried as he opened the door and walked in.

Sitting on Virgil's bed curled up in a ball was anxiety himself,Patton dropped the bag and ran over"kiddo!"

Virgil was shaking and whimpering,mouthing words Patton couldn't hear as he hugged him"kiddo,talk to me."

Virgil buried his face in Patton's shoulder"d-dad,I-I'm so sorry."he whimpered,Patton hugged him tighter"for what?what's wrong?"

"I-I'm a dark side,I-I really am a b-bad guy."Virgil sobbed,Patton gasped"you aren't a bad guy,not my little Virgil."he promised.

Virgil sniffled as he slowly calmed down with Patton continuing to talk"but they are bad guys,and I was one of them.."Patton pulled away enough to see Virgil's face,he wiped away Virgil's smudged makeup reveal faint freckles.

"They aren't bad Virgil,they're just misunderstood."Virgil glanced away"I don't want to be misunderstood.i hate that I'm even related to them in the slightest."

Patton sighed"Virgil,look at me."he grabbed Virgil's chin and made him face the fatherly side"it doesn't matter where any of us have come from,in the end we're all family.in the end we're all here to help Thomas,it's just hard to look past the surface."

Virgil smiled softly"I love you dad.."Patton smiled back"I love you too."the father and son then hugged it out,Virgil let out a shallow breath as he closed his eyes.

Suddenly their bodies felt warm,a white glow surrounded them"Virgil.."is all Patton said before everything went black.
