A knock on his door made Jungkook open his eyes.
"I'll get it." Taehyung said, racing over.
He opened the door, and that kid Jungkook faintly remembered stepped inside.
What was his name? Ji-sen? Ja-myen? Oh, Jimin!
"Hi, Jungkook." The boy said softly, walking over.
"Hey." Jungkook sat up in the bed.
"I know we're not close friends or anything, but I heard about your surgery and I just wanted to wish you well." Jimin said, handing over a get well soon balloon and a cute potted plant.
"Wow, thank you!" Jungkook beamed, accepting the gifts. "It was a success, the surgery."
"That's such a relief." Jimin sighed happily.
"Wow, how did you know sunflowers are my favorite?" Jungkook sniffed the yellow flowers.
Jimin smiled. "Lucky guess."
Taehyung walked back over and held Jungkook's hand, and Jimin saw how happy the older boy was smiling at Jungkook. The fondness in his gaze, the love in his heart that he had for Yoongi's little brother.
He knew Jungkook was going to be happy with Taehyung.
"Hey, you sign your 'I's the same way Yoongi used to." Jungkook pointed the message Jimin had written on the pot.
Jimin just smiled again.
"You're so thoughtful for these gifts." Taehyung told Jimin.
"If I had a younger brother, I would have spoiled him everyday." Jimin shrugged. He looked down at Jungkook, tears suddenly in his eyes. "I wish I could have done more for you, Kookie. I should have done more."
Jungkook frowned. "What do you mean? You've done so much! These flowers and balloons are amazing! Thank you!"
Jimin sighed, bending down to hug him.
Jungkook returned the hug automatically. "Really Jimin, it's okay. I'm okay."
Jimin hugged for a few long moments, before pulling back, wiping his eyes. "I know, I know you're okay, Kook. And I'm so glad. I wouldn't change a thing to make sure you're okay."
He looked to Taehyung. "Tell your brother I said sorry for...everything. He'll know what I mean."
Taehyung was confused but he still smiled. "Sure thing."
Jimin nodded, backing out of the room.
He heard talking down the hallway and saw Holly and his parents with one of the nurses a few feet away.
He whistled the same four note call that he always used to call Holly with, and the puppys ears perked, the furry little thing suddenly racing over to him, shocking his parents.
He scooped up the wiggly, excited puppy, petting her and kissing her head. "Goodbye, baby. Daddy loves you."
The dog barked, licking his face.
"Oh my, I'm so sorry!" Mrs. Min raced over. "She never does this to strangers!"
Yoongi handed the puppy back to his mom. "It's okay. For everything."
"Do you know Jungkook?" Mr. Min tilted his head.
"We went to school together." Yoongi smiled. "I just wanted to visit him after hearing about his successful surgery."
"How sweet of you!" Mrs. Min wiped tears. "We love him so much, I almost lost it after hearing he had that disease."
Mr. Min put an arm around her shoulders. "This past month has been hell for us. We would have done anything for our sons, you know. I would have given Kookie my heart if that was what he needed but then who would provide for my family? Insurance companies don't give out life insurance polices for people over sixty anymore."
"It's okay, you guys are good parents." Yoongi said. He looked at the ground. "Jungkook would have missed you a whole lot if you gave him your heart anyways."
"You're a good kid too." Mr. Min smiled. "I'm glad Kook has friends like you with him."
Yoongi gave him a soft smile. "He'll be okay in life, and that's all I care about."
He walked away before they could ask him what that meant.
-
Yoongi melted into Hoseok's embrace once he was back out in the parking lot.
"Don't go." Hoseok begged softly, his tears wetting Jimin's shirt. "Please, please don't leave me a second time, Yoonki. I need you."
"I'm sorry, Hobi." Yoongi was crying too. "I don't want to, but this is Jimin's life, and I can't steal it."
Hoseok held him tighter, and they stayed close together like that for a couple minutes, until Namjoon coughed.
Finally, they parted and wiped their eyes.
Yoongi smiled up at Namjoon. "Jimin said I can't kiss you, but he never said he couldn't kiss Hobi."
Namjoon sighed. "Alright, since you're giving me Jimin back, I owe you."
Yoongi eagerly grabbed Hoseok and they kissed deeply, and Namjoon had to look away, since all he could see was Jimin kissing a stranger.
When they finally broke apart, they were crying again.
Namjoon of course felt horrible for them both, but Yoongi had decided it was only fair to give Jimin his body and life back. He had stolen it for enough time to figure out his death, he didn't want to waste any more time of Jimin's precious life.
"You ready to go home?" Namjoon asked.
Yoongi didn't know if he was asking Jimin or himself, but he nodded either way.
"I love you." Hoseok grabbed Yoongi's hand desperately. "I'll always love you, no matter what! You'll always be my Yoonki, my first and my only."
Yoongi gave him a tearful smile. "If you don't find another partner I'm going to come back as a ghost and haunt you."
"I'll buy an Ouija board." Hoseok nodded.
"I want you to be happy, Hobi. Live your life for me, okay? Go on trips and take risks and love every day, and I promise I'll be there with you, in those adventures." Yoongi laughed through his tears.
Hoseok yanked him in for another long hug, and Namjoon let them take their time.
He could wait a little longer to get his Jimin back.
-
Finally, Namjoon drove him and Yoongi back to Jimin's place. It was night out, and they tiredly trudged inside.
Namjoon helped Yoongi to Jimin's room, even though Yoongi knew the way by now.
Yoongi fell onto the fluffy bed with a groan.
Today had drained him emotionally, and he just wanted to sleep.
Namjoon pulled the blanket over him.
Yoongi reached out and grabbed Namjoon's hand before the boy could pull away. "Wait..."
"Yeah?" Namjoon sat down on the end of the bed.
Yoongi sat up. "Thank you for...helping me."
Namjoon smiled. "Don't give me another sappy goodbye today, Min Yoongi."
"Shut up, I'm not sappy, you big stupid loser." Yoongi huffed and Namjoon laughed.
"You're welcome." Namjoon leaned forward and pressed a kiss to Yoongi's forehead.
"Sorry I stole your boyfriend's body." Yoongi said.
"It wasn't intentional." Namjoon shrugged. "I'll be more than a little concerned if you do it again, though."
Yoongi chuckled, before yawning.
"Good night, Yoongi." Namjoon said softly. "Have a good rest."
"Visit me or I'll haunt you." Yoongi murmured, his eyes slowly closing.
"I will." Namjoon promised, and Yoongi fell asleep.
-
Jimin was there when Yoongi opened his eyes.
"Sorry." Yoongi blurted out.
Jimin laughed. "Shut up."
He walked over and hugged the boy. "You're a good brother, son, boyfriend and friend, Yoongi." He murmured.
Yoongi hugged him back. "You too, Jimin. Namjoon's a good guy too, don't be too harsh on him when he acts stupid sometimes."
"You know I always will." Jimin chuckled, pulling back.
Yoongi gave him a smile. "Do me a favor and check up on Hobi and Kookie for me, every now and then?"
"I promise I will." Jimin said. "They've grown on me. Hoseok's a good kisser."
"Watch it, or I'll come back." Yoongi pushed him playfully.
Jimin smiled. "It was nice to meet you."
"I wish we had been friends sooner, and under different circumstances." Yoongi agreed.
"Better late than never." Jimin smirked. "Pun intended."
Yoongi rolled his eyes. "Okay, I'm out."
Jimin watched the image of the boy fade to blackness, still waving long after Min Yoongi was gone.
-
Namjoon woke up to screaming and a body jumping on him, knocking the breath out of him.
"Joonie! Namjoon! My Joonbear!" Jimin was crying, hugging the strong boy tightly.
"Jiminie?" Namjoon blinked his sleepy eyes open.
"It's me!" Jimin hovered over him. "Me!"
"Oh, fuck!" Namjoon was wide awake now, and he hugged the boy back, squeezing him. "Jimin!"
"Let's get married- right now!" Jimin demanded.
Namjoon laughed. "It's a little early for that, don't you think?"
"No." Jimin said stubbornly. "I missed you. Wanna marry you."
Namjoon cooed, grabbing the boys face and squishing his cheeks as he leaned down for a kiss. "I'll get you a promise ring first, how's that?"
"Now?" Jimin asked hopefully, clinging to the strong boy as Namjoon stood up.
Namjoon smiled. "Sure, baby. You know I'll do anything for you."
Jimin beamed, resting his head against Namjoon's chest. "I love you, Kim Namjoon."
"I love you more, Park Jimin."
