First mission

"So, are you exited about you first mission?" Wally smirked as he came over and put his arm on my neck.

"It's sounds really interesting, and I kinda wonder what's going to happen."

"Well let's go to Batman and see what the mission is." He smiled and dragged me to follow him and rest of the team, since I didn't know where to go. Give me a break this place is huge, it will take me a while to remember where everything is.

"Team, you are going on a covert mission to fling labs." I flinched at the mention, but thankfully no one noticed. "It is believed that they are doing experiments on people." Everyone gasped as Batman said that, well all but me. "We are sending you in to see of this is true or-" I cut him off, I mean might as well stop him their when I know the truth.

"Don't bother." I realised what I said and everyone gave me odd looks. "I can tell you right now they are doing experiments on people." Oh shit, did I just say all that, now their going to ask how I know that.

"How do you know that." Batman gave me the famous bat glare, but I hardly flinched, seen worse.

"Where do you think I was for 5 months." I stated simply, I mean they were going to find out soon enough.

"Do you mind telling us what exactly happens in there?" Batman asked, he still had his monotone voice but you could see the slight pity in his eyes.

"Well, basically if you have powers they try to control you and take your powers to their full potential so you are a living weapon. If you don't have powers then they will inject you with other DNA so that they can try and create a weapon out of you and again try to control you." I looked around slightly without having my face show any emotion, I had learnt to hide that over the years. But everyone was looking at me with both pity and surprise. Pity cause of what I had been through, and surprise I guess cause I wasn't saying 'I'd rather not talk about it.' Or balling my eyes out while I remember.

"Well then, I guess the mission has changed, you are all now to go in and rescue those you can, if anything happens contact the league immediately." The hologram shutoff and everyone headed to the bio-ship as Robin got the co-ordinates along with Aqualad -who I now know is the leader- before they themselves headed to the ship.

Arty came up beside me and gave my shoulder a small squeeze. "Are you sure you'll be okay doing this mission?"

I looked up at her with a smile. "Tell me Arty have I ever let my past interfere with my present? Let alone control my emotions?" It was then I noticed all eyes were on me, and Arty waiting for her answer.

"Well no, but still-" she started but Robin finished.

"Are you sure you won't be affected."

"Man you guys underestimate me, aren't you supposed to know me the best, you know my past so you should know I can't be affected that easily. Now lets get going." I smiled at them again, but honestly I was asking myself the same thing. Would I really be able to survive going back in there or would I break?

I was lost in my thoughts and before long we were there. "Miss martian link us up." Aqualad said.

'Are we all linked?' I heard Miss Martian ask.

'Aww man, not voices in my head again.' I commented.

'Um suni? As concerning as it is what you just said, Miss M has telepathically linked
us up.' Robin said trying not to laugh.

'I wonder if I can telepathically glare at him?' I said glaring.

'Yes I can feel your glare.' He said laughing.

'Wait you heard that?'

'Yes' they all replied.

'Um okay, that's awkward, can you guys like hear every thought that will pass through my head?' I asked and I am sure the worry was clearly hearable.

'No, only what you actually say in you mind.'

I sighed. 'Thank goodness. Anyway on with the mission.' I said as I could hear all of their confused looks, but not really see them.

'Okay Suni, do you have any idea where to go?' Aqualad asked me.

'Yeah, I can remember where to go. But be warned they usually have tight security.' I was responded by a chorus of 'okay'. As we went in through the door. 'Okay follow me. Robin can you hack the motion sensors and cameras?'

'On it.' We kept walking through the halls and we surprisingly didn't come across any guards yet.

'Superboy, can you hear anyone?' I was curious as to where everyone was.

'I can hear a few people on the next level, and ahead, but besides that as far as I can tell there is no one.' That was really getting me nervous, it had never been this low on security.

'Okay, but keep listening in case, there was always more guards than this.'

'How did you ever get out of here then?'

'I don't know, I was knocked unconscious from being beaten then I awoke to someone putting me in a room, then Batman came and took me.' I know I didn't tell them the whole truth, but that's not important right now.

Before long we came to the cells. 'Okay, where here, Robin I'll need you to hack the lock.' He came over behind me and did something with his portable computer thing on his arm, suddenly the light on the door flashed green and the door opened. "Hello?" I whispered into the cells. I could see the children crouched into the back on the wall trying to get away from us. "Please we won't hurt you, were the young justice league were here to help." The others came in behind me, and once the children saw their faces they all launched out and into our arms. I guess cause I wasn't a familiar face they weren't sure if they could trust me. But I didn't blame them.

After a while we managed to get all the children out and onto the bio-ship, we surprisingly didn't come across any guards. I guess they had gone home?

"Well Suni, your first mission was a success, and we didn't get into any near death experiences." Robin smiled at me.

"Yeah, but I have a feeling that there's a trap. I mean it was too easy." I said, frowning.

Before Robin could say anymore the ship shook. "Miss M what's going on?"

"She's been hit, a bomb I think. I-I can't control her." We all looked between eachother, not knowing what to do. Then I thought of something.

I walked into the centre of the ship and sat down. "Okay never tried this before, but now is the best of time to see." I muttered to myself, and before long I was floating up.

At this point the team was staring at me. "Suni what are you doing." Robin asked.

"Shh, I'm trying to hold the ship up, but please be quiet I've never controlled something on this large of a scale." After saying that everyone was quiet and I could get full concentration.

I could feel the air surround me, and suddenly the ships falling slowed before coming to a halt in the air. I opened my eyes and walked to the front of the ship, still holding my hands out to control the ship. "Okay Miss M, where am I going?"

"Just keep going straight, we should come to the place the justice league wanted to meet us with the kids soon. Are you sure you can hold it?" She looked at me with concern. Guess she could see my hands shaking.

"Well I guess we'll find out won't we." I smiled at her before turning my full attention back to the ship.

"Stop here." Miss M said, and I started to, lower the ship. But once I got about 10 feet above the ground I couldn't control it anymore and the ship fell to the ground.

"Ouch." I said as I rubbed my head. "Is everyone okay?"

"Yeah." I heard everyone reply. We all got up and started to walk out the ship with all the children following. "Great job back there Suni, I have no idea what we would have done without you." Robin came over to me smiling.

"I'm sure you would have found another way out." I said, trying to catch my breath.

"Hey, are you okay?" He asked while putting a hand on my shoulder.

"Yeah, that just kinda took all the energy out of me." I looked up and gave him a half smile. I started to walk towards the others with Robin behind me but my legs gave way. I was preparing to hit the ground when I felt someone's arms around me stopping me from coming any closer to the ground.

"Come on, I'll help you walk." He gave me a smile reassuring smile, before placing my arm over his shoulder, and his hand around my waist to help me walk.

"Well this is just awkward." I smiled up at him and gave a slight chuckle.

"What do you mean?"

"I stop the ship from falling, but now I can't even walk." I'm weak.

"Come on, let's get you back." We both exchanged a smile before coming up to the rest of the team, the justice league, and of course the children we saved.

"What happened?" Batman asked. Always straight forward.

"They planted a bomb on the bio-ship and I lost all control, I couldn't even fly her back." M'gann looked to the floor sadly. I stumbled over to her and gave her a hug.

"Is she going to be okay?" I looked at her.

"She should heal herself soon. But what happened to you?" She said as she noticed I was struggling to stand.

"Just wore myself out, I have never tried that before, don't think I will make a habit out of it either." I laughed.

"Well, we owe you." Aqualad said.

"Come on, you've given me a spot on the team. That's enough."

Batman then have me a sceptical look as if trying to understand what had happened. But Robin jumped in to explain. "After the bomb went off, Suni's fast thinking kept us up in the air, she used her powers and brought the bio-ship here, but kinda wore herself out in the process."

"Anyway, what are you going to do with the children bats?" I asked trying to take the attention off me.

"Well I will find their families and take them home. But you guys get some rest."

We all started to walk to the nearest zeta-tube, considering we couldn't fly back to mount justice, and I went through first. Typing in the co-ordinates for the zeta-tube closest to my house. I the turned and said goodbye to the team and stepped into the "phone booth."

I finally came to my house and was greeted by the owners of the house. "Well, well, well, why are you home so late?" The woman in front of me gave me a death glare, and I just sighed.

"Sorry, mother." I had to force the name out.

"Your not forgiven!" She growled.

Oh what's gonna happen, well you'll find out soon enough. Kinda.
